Hijiki seaweed salad: small portion It was mad to look like a large portion by putting it on a bed of shredded root. Uni. Passes the fresh test. Unique presentation. It was good. I'd get it again. I was bummed. This place doesn't really cater to bar seating. It's meant for table patrons really. I like a bar area clearly created for those single or couple special visits. Not everyone likes a table. I'd go again. More hijiki More complicated garnishes in the chiriashi. Freah rice. To get the 5 stars. The bathroom is scuzzy. See pics. My server and gyoza were the only good things about this place. I ordered the Hawaiian roll which is supposed to be spicy tuna, cucumber, tuna and jalapeño. I added all the wasabi on my plate and mixed it with soy sauce. But the after taste was old tuna after my first bite. I tried one more piece and same thing. Awkward but I sent it back while all the workers audibly laughed out loud about what I said. I'll happily take my money elsewhere. If it was good, I would have ate it, and tipped well. DAMI SUSHI is the only consistent sushi place in town. That has never used old tuna. read more

This is small place in a strip mall. The staff was very welcoming and we were sat promptly. Our server quickly brought us iced water, miso soup and a salad while we looked at the menu. The unagi sushi was very good. I love soft shell crabs so we ordered that as an appetiser. The dish was bigger than expected and I really enjoyed the salad it came with. We ordered Sapporo on tap which was cold and good. I don't recall the name of the roll we got, but it was delicious! I enjoyed the different types of eggs and fish on it. Th spicy tuna roll was also really good. The only reason it's a 4 star vs a 5 star is because of the fried rice. We shouldn't have ordered it. My bf loves fried rice, but this is just not their strength. The chicken was cold cold in it and the beef was 50/50 chance of cold vs warm. I don't eat cold food that's meant to be warm, so he had to it. If hi come, just stick to the sushi. read more

4.5 Stars Cute spot on strip mall. Yummy sushi and very welcoming, sweet staff. The Chirashi ($28) was sizeable and delicious (9 different items - 6 fish, imitation crab, fish eggs, and Tamago). Had the Unagi Don ($24) to go as well and it was awesome - the eel was tender and grilled perfectly. Miso soup served to start. I found myself with a sushi craving in Anchorage, and Yelp said Miso Sushi was delish so I stopped on in for a late lunch. Not surprisingly, Yelp was right! The sushi was delish, fresh, and fairly reasonably priced. Since I arrived at an odd time of day, the restaurant was not busy at all, so I was served very quickly. I enjoyed my hamachi nigiri (always my favorite), a tasty roll, and of course a delicious, warm cup of freshly made miso soup. I would definitely come here again if in the area! read more

4.5 overall! Services was really great and food was scrumptious! The tempura shrimp in the tempura shrimp roll was a bit on the overcooked side and fell apart easily. Flavor was good though. They gave rice in miso soup for the kiddos which was a nice touch and the kids all devoured it. Pleasantly surprised!!! Walked in with 3 others around 630 on a Thursday night and was seated right away. Menu had alot of options from starters, sashimi, sushi, and bento boxes. Pricing was great for the portions. So many sushi places here in Anchorage are overpriced so this was a welcome change. Service was good as busy as it was! Cute interior with ample seating. Honestly I don't ever leave reviews but this was one of the worst sushi take out orders i've ever gotten. I spent $120+ dollars and what I received was basically inedible. Also, why would you give me two tiny servings of ginger?? I would have given 1 star but at least the bento box was okay. Ordered a Fantastic roll, Golden Lady roll, Rock n roll, FBI roll, 12 piece sashimi, sesame chicken bento box, and a miso soup. The fantastic roll and Golden lady were fishy. Came in excited to try this place, but unfortunately the service fell short. When placing my order, the server very clearly asked whether I wanted the roll or the appetizer -- I confirmed my choice -- yet the order still came out wrong. It was frustrating because they paused and asked specifically, and still didn't get it right. On top of that, the server didn't seem familiar with the menu. I ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Combo, and they seemed confused about what it included and how it came out. When the order arrived, it was not what I asked for, and I had to flag someone down to fix it. For a restaurant at this level, attention to detail matters. If you're writing things down and double-confirming, there's no reason the order should be incorrect -- especially for something as simple as choosing between a roll or an appetizer. It made the experience feel careless and unprofessional. Food itself was decent, but the service really took away from what could have been a great meal. This place! Don't let the outside fool you. I thought I was going for a massage and I was ready to drive away but I remembered the reviews so I said "let's go in!" Best decision! I was greeted by Jobe and she was very pleasant. I sat at the bar while I saw how the chef ‍ made the sushis. I ordered the volcano sushi and I asked for their suggestion and they said the midnight dream . Both rolls were amazing and they both had a kick. I loved them and I don't even like that very spicy foods. The restaurant has nice music in the background and very mellow. The lights are dimmed so if you want to go on a date and you don't know where to go? Now you know. If you are in town and looking for some good sushi, stop by this place. read more

Called to see if Miso takes reservations and the young lady said no, however asked how many in our party and I told her and she said she remembered us and would look out for me. We walked in and I noticed a table was reserved for our family which I was very grateful for since we we're having a Birthday dinner. The atmosphere in this restaurant is so warm and inviting from the staff! We sat down and we're given menus right away. I ordered saki and the guys wanted a beer I don't know where you can go in Anchorage and get a kingstreet IPA on tap for $5 that price is crazy wonderful!! We ordered several tasty dishes that the family just loved, and Miso Sushi gives the best Miso soup that my grandkids love. Out of all of the sushi restaurants in town, Miso Sushi has, by far, the best Chirashi bowl in town. My favorite thing about it is the generous amount tobiko and the pieces od tamago that you get with your sashimi. It's fresh, delicious, flavorful, and melt in your mouth! Miso Sushi has been around for a few years and occupies the spot where Sushi Ya used to be. Their menu has good options if you're looking to try sushi for the first time, or you're getting something traditional. The wait staff is very professional and they'll make sure you have everything you need. They check on their customers a fair amount. I'd like to see more Chirashi bowl options at this spot, as well as the other sushi restaurants in town. I think Anchorage could always do with more poke bowl spots. read more

I'll be first to admit I probably did not do this place right. I ordered on doordash, and I got a bento box, not sushi. I thought the food was good, but it didn't blow me away. Despite the bento including a few pieces of sushi, I was bummed that there was no wasabi nor ginger. Tempura was great (isn't it always?) and the Mongolian beef was salty and great. I'd probably order again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner on two separate occasions while visiting Anchorage. The food was very fresh tasting and flavorful. Had the oysters, salmon sushi, seaweed salad and a number of signature rolls and hand rolls - all delicious. The service was very affable and efficient. The establishment dinning area is warm and inviting (loved the "just enough" privacy shades on the booths - nice touch) Business is brisk during prime dinner hours (good sign) so plan accordingly. This was such a cute little sushi restaurant, and seemed like a very local place as we noticed that the some of the servers and customers knew each other. The fried rice was incredible, and the sushi rolls were pretty good, but the edamame left something to be desired.
