Easy to miss the entrance coming from the highway but made an easy round the block turn to get in Private lot next to Subway Good coffee Patient and friendly staff handling my stupid questions like no real butter and gluten free items Most gf have oat flour so I couldn't eat them but the two items she recommended were chocolate and excellent Bring cash, you save % Join club through toasters app to get points and free goodies Love the counter along windows, I could stand to eat, my back doesn't care for hard chairs Sweet potato hash was excellent Hot and fresh Pastries I had were good, alittle too sweet for me but I'll just have to "suffer" thru it. lol Free WiFi , took pic of pw Gotta return and bring hubby who is drooling at home looking at my pics.

Nice little local vegan spot, cozy and casual atmosphere. Service is great, everything came out delicious and hot. The ham and cheese hit the nostalgic spot, Torta is a classic that can't go wrong.

This is from a while ago but some of my favorite desserts from Miss Chickpeas. The Chocolate Croissant is literally so good, my husband is obsessed, he claims they are better than non-vegan ones! The fruit tart is also so good, the combo of the filling with the glazed fresh fruit was so satisfying!

Being on my go to list for awhile, I finally got to check out this place recently with friends. They have two locations - one being a bake shop and this one- a combo bakery/lunch. Walking in , my eyes immediately went straight to their display cases filled with all kinds of scrumptious baked goods. Baked vegan goods made only with organic ingredients. Being dairy free, this place called my name. The employee behind the counter was friendly and patient answering our questions regarding each bakery item. They ordered cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, and a muffin, and I ordered a variety of popovers. What stood out in my mind out of all we sampled? ....the lemon blueberry muffin. Lots of great lemon flavor and fresh blueberries. The popovers were ok- I sampled peach, cherry pineapple, lemon blueberry, and maple brown sugar. She heated up the peach for me, but the edges became hard and overcooked. The lemon blueberry popover was nice- it had a good amount of filling, but the popover edges were too thick and crunchy for my liking. I also ordered a chai latte with almond milk- the tea came caffeine free, which I love. She offered agave for sweetness, I declined, but should have said yes. All in all a cute place, I might try their lunch special. FYI they offer 1/2 off their food items in the bottom row of their display case!

I love Miss Chickpea's so so so much. The cafe itself is adorable, the staff are super helpful and kind, and the pastries and coffee are always made to perfection

I stopped by after going to Subway to get something sweet and I got a couple little different things I got the rebel bar I got this like caramel bar and a concha. Everything was very delicious, but threw it through. My favorite thing was the caramel peanut like snicker rendition thing it was amazing it tasted, absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back for that. I love that it's vegan. There's no animals hurt in the making of these products thecafé is very cute. It's sweet it's quiet in there. You can definitely work in there if you want to but it's adorable so you can bring some kids if you want to see the color it's just all on the Gray atmosphere. I'll definitely be going back the service was quick and efficient. They serve you right then in their pack up the box for you to take home all in all the great great experience.

Came is for the first time while visiting the area, and ordered a full Caesar salad to go for lunch. Portion was large. I was a little suspect about the dressing, but it ended up being perfect once mixed in. I also got a lemon blueberry pop tart, and 2 day old donuts (the chocolate with rainbow sprinkles, and strawberry with rainbow sprinkles). Omni husband ended up ordering a sticky bun. All desserts were amazing! Donuts were for the kids, but mom had to take a bite of each. Gentleman working the front was kind, and answered our questions. Only had to wait a few minutes for the salad. Good music playing as well

Organic, vegan, gluten-free, and amazing. This little bake shop is accompanied by the sweetest people and a bright area with a good amount of seating. Today was a first visit with a group of friends and it was pastries that got all the attention - look at some of these pics! All full of flavor, not too dry and not too sweet. I also tried the beet smoothie and loved it. I'm already thinking about another visit to try their lunch menu because honestly, there were so many options that sounded delicious. Definitely give this one a try!

    Yum!

Went back AGAIN! I just can't quit with this place .. Vegan cheesecake! I've not had cheesecake in over two years since I found out I was completely allergic to dairy. People.. my husband who's had cheesecake recently said he couldn't tell there was zero dairy! If I lived in San Antonio my paycheck would go here every Saturday

You wouldn't think this was an organic only dessert shop the way these divine treats taste. Not feeling guilty one bit after selecting 4 different items and bringing a box home. Cashier was very helpful in assisting with me and choosing my selections. The establishment is quite small, besides desserts they serve salads and breakfast items as well.

I passed by this cafe a couple weeks ago and it sparked my interest! It's very cutesy from the outside and it looked like a great place for breakfast, lunch, or a little treat! I was back in the area and it was lunch time so I decided to pop on in and see what it was all about! The inside is cute, lots of pink, plants, and decor. They have baked pastries and also have a menu where you can order other food! There's small tables for seating. I ordered a bean and cheese pupusa. I did wait 15-20 minutes which seemed like a long wait for a casual lunch spot that wasn't very crowded, but it came out fresh!! It came with pickled cabbage and plantain chips too which hit the spot and was only $4.75! I didn't try any of their pastries, but they looked good!! Next time I'm back, I'd try a coffee or smoothie too. They also had other soups, salad, and sandwiches that caught my eye. I didn't realize at first, but this is a vegetarian cafe so I will definitely be recommending to my vegetarian friends!!

At first it did take me a moment to find the place as the building itself doesn't say the restaurant name (written on a chalk board) but thankfully found it and came at a time when it wasnt crowded. Inside definitely doesn't give restaurant vibes. It gives more of a home vibe and has alot of board games and crayons/paints you can do. Also they have a game console in the back which is pretty cool if you like playing Mario cart. It did seem a bit dark inside as not much lights were on but once sun came out was able to see. The guy that took our order was very nice and helped us understand some of the items on the menu. He even gave us a discount for being first time customers which I appreciated. It take take some time to get our food but when we did it was all fresh and hot. We had ordered a few tacos. My brother had the phish tacos and they were actually pretty good. It almost tasted like real fish and definitely would consider getting the next time I visit. They also have us some salsa which was also delicious and tasted great with all our tacos. I did like the potato and egg I had too. It did throw me off when I tasted it with corn tortilla but it was still good. I prefer potato and egg over the bean and cheese but that's just my preference. I did order the pozole soup with jack fruit and tasted pretty good. It looked really pretty and alot of good stuff in the soup. I do feel it needed some more lime or something else but it was good regardless. Overall it was a better experience than I expected and my family even said they would consider coming back here. Can be pricy depending what you order but worth a try at least once. Another good vegan restaurant.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

I can honestly say that these are the best nachos that I've had in San Antonio. I ordered the soft "chicken" taco plate. The "chicken" had a great texture, and the corn tortillas were excellent.
