Caribbean in the city at its finest. Limited space. Bathroom can get crowded during peak hours. During the weekends you can see a line to get in, but it moves fast. As of June 2026, there is NO cover charge. If you're not dancing or drinking, don't bother coming in here and killing the vibe. read more

I enjoyed my dinner experience at Miss Lily's! I thought the service was great, the happy hour deal was AMAZING, and the food was solid. The standouts for me were the plantains, which were melt-in-your-mouth sweet and caramelized, the rice and peas, which were coconutty and delicious, and the jerk chicken. I will say the oxtail could have been more tender and the jerk chicken a bit spicier, but I liked them nonetheless. The drinks were also great, and at $8 each during happy hour, I definitely will be back! read more

Perfect timing cause around 3:30 it got busy. We enjoyed the ambiance and received the best customer service from the "hello, "watch your step", "do you need anything else", "I got you", "I love that you're sharing your dessert that's what I would do", the music! I moved away from NYC back to CA and am visiting NYC. The first place I want to visit is Miss Lily's. The vibe is always right and you can't find anything like Miss Lily's in CA where I live now!!! Yeah, I'll be back, on a Thursday night perhaps. Started with an easy bowl of seasonal greens and sorrel (wasn't hungry enough for more this time) and ended with wining up my waist with some authentic Caribbean sounds and people, including two reggae music artists performing live. Oh a time was had, and I had to peel myself away because grown ups have real jobs with real start times. It was nothing but love with a little late night messiness and more than a few fine a$$ men. Amazing restaraunt's week dinner menu just for $45! The appetizers were all amazing. The fish sliders came in twos so you really get your moneys worth and get stuffed to the brim. The buns for the slider had a hint of coconut to it which made it unique. My friend got the fish fritters and I thought the sauce was amazing. I got the jerk chicken as an entree and it was humongous. It came with rice and beans, mango chutney of some sort, and cucumbers. I wish the inside of the chicken also had some marinade or that the jerk chicken was more saucy. Once you get to the meat it's just chicken flavor- no jerk. I ended the night with delicious rum cake. I came by with a friend for dinner happy hour and had a fantastic time! Tasty cocktails for $8 tasty bites for only $6. We got the corn and shoestring fries and enjoyed both. The corn had 2 pieces in a portion, so easy to share and the fries were addictive. The oxtail stew was flavorful and generous in serving size, but my favorite dish of the night had to be the coffee lamb chops. The lamb was cooked really well - seasoned well, not too dry or gamey. The puree under was tasty too, but could have had a little more to balance the dish. Service was prompt and friendly and the decor inside was full of character. I really used to love this place! I have had everything on the menu more than 3x. We first started going in 2020. 100% authentic Melt in your mouth oxtails etc. The last 2 years I have still been going periodically, but I have slowed because I noticed the next day my stomach is terribly f----up. I say the past 2 years because sometimes you just don't know and I haven't left a review because of this. I just returned over New Years weekend and stood clear of oxtails but my partner had them. I had Red Snapper, excellent choice I should have been getting all along. The next day felt fine but my partner stomach in shambles from the oxtails I'm not sure what's up but this used to be our only reason to go. Stopped by again for restaurant week. 3 courses for 35/45 I can't recall. Service was attentive and friendly. Surprisingly the rum punch was weak and so was the pina colada. The food was delicious though. The fish cakes were hot and fresh. My curry prawns were flavorful. And the rum cake for desert was good but I doubt it had any rum in it. Also tried the coco bread bao buns which were interesting but good! My boyfriend had the lamb and didn't like that it was drowned in bbq sauce. 3 1/2 Hadn't been to Miss Lily's in about 10 years and decided to pull back up...let's get to it. I'll start with the bad first. Cons: -made a reservation and was sat at the table right in front of the door(which isn't an issue btw). The issue was that the table seemed to be part of the host stand and I mean literally the host was standing over our table the whole meal lol nice girl but I felt like i reserved a party of 3 and not 2. -bathrooms were a little smelly and could of used a cleaning. -DESSERT. We got the banana pudding which was really disappointing. Lacking banana flavor and bananas. Served in a small glass with 2 hard cookies on top was NOT it. Dessert came off as lazy and really lacked flair!!!!!!! Pros: -the codfish fritters were absolutely tasty. The curry sauce served on the side really elevated a simple appetizer. -Mac and cheese was BUSSSSSSIN. Some of the best Mac I've ever had and I make great Mac. Must get when you pull up -I truly appreciate a place that makes their own juices. I tried the homemade ginger beer and was pleased with the extra spicy ginger in the beer. -Shoutout to the playlist, which I'm big on especially when curating a vibe. Mids: -the service. While it wasn't bad at all, nothing stood out about our experience with our waitress. (menu tour guide, maybe suggest their favorite, table maintenance) things that were lacking that can really amp up a dining experience. -the mains were good but nothing I would come back for. We got the oxtail stew which was served hot but flavor didn't blow my mind. The Pork ribs were also tasty, however the accompaniments (mango chutney and pickled cucumbers) made this dish very mid. The BEST meal I had during my last visit to NY! I had the pleasure of dinning at this gem during restaurant week! Everything about it is a win! Let's first start with the amazing service! Now I know you are thinking what can be so special about a watermelon salad? It was just good! I appreciated every ingredient included ! It was very refreshing. My favorite part of the meal was the jerk chicken. Hands down the BEST jerk chicken I have ever had! It is tender and full of flavor !! When I say I finished this meal and left no crumbs it was that good!!! My sister had the jerk mushroom lettuce wraps. Her entree was the friend snapper and to end it off she had rum cake! I have to admit I enjoyed my meal more ! However her food was good too! I really enjoyed the aioli sauce that accompanied the fish entree. NOTE: for restaurant week you can opt to order off the restaurant week menu. It is 3 courses for $45! The only item I would not order again is the rum cake! It was not your traditional Caribbean rum cake. It is more of a white cake with coconut flavors. I could not taste the rum. Second time here and it did not disappoint. Stopped in for a lunch after a walk across the Williamsburg bridge. The neighborhood is not the ritziest but we felt safe. The vibe inside Miss Lily is what you came for. It's a cozy cafe with cool music vibes. The service is top notch from top to bottom. The hostess is always super inviting and friendly. The waiter was engaging and helpful. I ordered a mocktail and when I tasted it I knew someone spiked that thing big time. Apparently the bartender read the drink order wrong. The waiter apologized, the manager came to apologize and even the hostess joined her in the apology. What was more impressive? The bartender came over to explain and offer her apologies. Now, I don't have an issue with alcohol but it was hot and I was walking so I preferred the mocktail. But I suppose if I'd been in recovery or something, that could've been a bigger issue. But we totally took it in stride. Let me tell you the real though.... That jerk chicken roti is massive and it is impressive!!! I'd order that again and again. Second time at this location. Very happy with food and service. Today Ruby and Junice and the 4:30 hostess, provided great service. The male bartender i have had before was also polite, professional and personable. Today with the weather close to 90, it was the perfect spot. The cold beer and hibiscus and ginger drink were both refreshing. They provided plenty of ice water to keep us.. The music in the background gives good vibes. The shrimp were good, I just thought they would be a little spicier. The corn which was accidentally brought to our table and were charged was yum. An authentic experience. We came here for brunch and had such a great experience. Ambiance: Feels like a Caribbean diner. They play great music. The booth were comfortable to sit in and half are right by the window so it's nice to look out. Service: service was fast and efficient. Food also came out within reasonable time. Food: We got all the veggie options on the menu. The coconut pancakes were good but I think they needed more coconut. The coconut part felt like only the flakes on top so once those were gone you were just eating regular pancakes. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. We also got the jerk corn, it was so well flavored. Note, it comes on the cob. The jerk fries were good, the jerk seasoning was yummy but the fries felt a little average. We also got the vegetable roti. That was definitely the highlight of the meal. There wasn't too many open tables in the whole restaurant (both inside and outside), which was reassuring to me because I usually think that means it's got a solid reputation. I ordered the Miss Lily's Rum Punch and the Miss Lily's Jerk Chicken because they both seemed to be signature menu items. Both were outstanding. The jerk chicken was tender and full of that jerk flavor. The Rum Punch was a little sweet for my taste, but still well made. There was a few people who were celebrating birthdays and they did a great performance with handheld flashing lights and songs to match. Visited Miss Lily's with one of my friends on a Saturday for dinner as part of Restaurant Week. We missed our reservation unfortunately but there was luckily space at the bar. We got the 3 course meal for $45 and got the corn as an appetizer, red snapper as the main entree, and we both got our own coconut cake or banana pudding. The corn was really good. The red snapper was also pretty good but their gravy was a little on the liquid side. Would've preferred if it was thicker consistency but I put some of the rice in the gravy and it soaked it up and tasted good. I liked the coconut cake a lot and I don't even eat dessert like that. Not a fan of banana pudding at all so I'm a little biased and didn't like it. That rum punch was strong! The spot is super cozy. The bartender and the host was pretty nice. I always end up getting the oxtail at Miss Lily's, and let me tell you, it's exceptional!! Packed with savory flavor and perfectly cooked, it's just the right amount to leave your belly full and satisfied. The rice is always on point, not dry and pairs perfectly with the oxtail gravy. I usually just let it sit in the bowl and soak it all in. I also love that they have daily specials, giving you even more variety to enjoy. While the appetizers are great, I typically skip them because the main course is so filling. The service is always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. Of course I love my fellow Caribbean people, I can't help but return to this spot, and support. Therefore I've brought over five different people to experience it for themselves. The music adds another layer to the experience, with soca and reggae chunes creating an inviting and lively atmosphere. The live DJ really gets the crowd going, which is always a good time. I wish it wasn't located in such a hipster area, but I suppose everyone needs a taste of true flavor every once in a while. Reservations are encouraged, as it can get packed, but walk ins are welcome too if you can get one. As a Jamaican, I make it my duty to try every Jamaican restaurant I can in the city, and I finally made it to Miss Lily's after hearing good things. I had the codfish fritters to start, the jerk chicken meal for my main, and a slice of cake for dessert. The fritters were yummy, the jerk chicken was decent, and the dessert was wonderful. My drink, unfortunately, was very watered down, so I didn't enjoy that. Overall, the ambience was nice and it's a great place to meet friends and catch up over a meal. I had to start Happy Hour off with their Codfish fritters and Jerk Wings. The fritters were extremely soft, seasoned, and paired amazingly with their Curry Dipping sauce. The texture reminded me of cornbread. As for the Jerk Wings these are easily in my top 2 for best wings I've ever had! The wings were giving grilled, smoky, spicy, finger licking good Let's just say the wings were there and then they weren't. For the main event I had to get their Tuesday exclusive Jerk Crab Boil. We're talking 3 Crab Clusters, Potatoes, Corn, a side of slaw, and 2 Jamaican Festivals all for $44. I love me a good seafood boil, so I was very excited to see the hefty amount of crab, along with the sides. I've never had Jamaican Festivals before, so I was very excited to try them and damn did they not disappoint. And you can't get Caribbean food without a side of Mac & Cheese. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the cheese was super flavorful. Miss Lily's has one of the best Happy Hour, Specials, and menu in East Village hands down. We were on the waitlist and had to wait about 45 mins for a table but it was well worth it. Everything was so flavorful and my family was very impressed. We ordered the jerk Caesar, and cod fritters to start and The jerk corn (different but soooo tasty, don't let the mayo scare you) , extra rice and peas (there's a clear traditional coconut milk flavor, delicious to me) , and seasonal vegetables (seasoned very well) as sides to share. For entrees we did - the run down salmon (spicy and delicious), - the jerk chicken with a side of mac and cheese (a half chicken, super filling and flavorful, Mac was okay) - the bbq Lamb, (10/10 absolutely would recommend.) - and the eschovitched snapper. We went out on January 8th to celebrate my birthday. I had been to Miss Lily's before, but it had been about seven years, so I was genuinely excited to revisit. I made sure to reserve a table for two, and we arrived about 15 minutes early. When we arrived, the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. The bar was fairly full, but there were only a few guests seated at booths and tables. We politely asked the host if we could sit at a booth, and she declined, saying booths were reserved for larger groups. We explained that we planned on ordering multiple dishes and could really use the extra space. She eventually agreed and seated us. Once seated, things improved significantly. The waitstaff was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. They checked in on us regularly, made us feel welcomed, and ensured our drinks and appetizers arrived promptly. Their professionalism and kindness honestly carried the experience and made us feel cared for during what should have been a celebratory evening. Unfortunately, things became frustrating shortly after. We noticed that the booths remained empty for a while, but as more patrons arrived, couples were seated in booths, including groups of two--exactly what we had originally been told was not allowed. At that point, the restaurant was still not full, and it felt discouraging and unfair. That inconsistency from the host left us feeling overlooked and disappointed. As for the food, the oxtail was a bit on the salty side. The ribs were very good, and the shrimp was just okay--nothing memorable. Overall, the food didn't quite live up to the experience I remembered from seven years ago. While the waitstaff truly deserves praise for being attentive, kind, and professional, the lack of accommodation and inconsistency from the host really impacted our experience.
