I stopped by after work yesterday, and the place is nice. We ordered chicken wings, fries, nachos, tacos, and a steak quesadilla. The wings came out nice and crispy, and the regular fries were really good. My friends enjoyed the tacos, while the steak quesadilla was just okay. The drinks are a bit pricey, but probably average for the area. The bartenders were fine, though not particularly friendly. My biggest complaint was the music, it really killed the vibe for me. Had a fun night out with a friend at La Caverna last weekend! This Tex Mex night lounge has a very unique theme! Once you go inside, you're underground and are immediately immersed in a cave-like atmosphere. The stone walls, waterfalls, and bull paintings really contribute to its overall theme. Ambiance rate: 10/10. My friend and I only ordered their speciality cocktails. 1. La Caverna Cosmo: This drink was good! It incorporated an equal amount of cranberry juice and tequila. Rate: 7.5/10. 2. Lychee Rita: This drink had more a stronger alcohol flavor instead of a lychee flavor. Nevertheless, it was still good! Rate: 7/10. 3. The Altamira: This drink was delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and didn't have an overpowering alcohol flavor. Rate: 8/10. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the service was very quick. Service/staff rate: 9/10. One critique I want to mention is if you're only having a drink, you can only stay at the bar. It would've been nice if the tables could've been for customers who ordered food or drinks. Also, at 10:30pm, they start removing the bar stools and blocking out the tables to prepare for their nightclub. Best to keep that in mind if you're only planning to get food or drinks. My husband and I stopped by for a drink. I've always wanted to go to La Caverna and it did not disappoint! It's such a cool concept. I really enjoyed the cave like atmosphere. It was very impressive. The food was also delicious! My friends and I stopped in for Taco Tuesday during happy hour. The spot is downstairs with a lounge vibe, and my friend mentioned it turns into a club at night... Taco Tuesday specials were $3 each for beef, chicken, or veggie. Naturally, I tried all three. Honestly, the veggie taco with mushrooms was the only one that was somewhat decent. The others were dry and bland no sauce, dressing, or flavor was present... which was pretty disappointing. I really wanted to like this place, but my experience planning an event here was disappointing. I coordinated with their event contact (Ben) days in advance, both over email and on the phone, to confirm an open bar package for our large party. We specifically discussed that there wouldn't be a seated dinner since they were already booked, and instead agreed on a half-seated, half-standing section with an open bar and everyone ordering their own appetizers. I told him everything sounded great and that I'd follow up the next morning with the final headcount and timing, which I did. When we arrived on the day of the event, our section was ready, but the open bar we planned for didn't exist in their system. My friends went to the bar to order, only to be told there were "no notes" about the open bar. Ben came over and repeated that since nothing was documented on their end, they couldn't honor it. I was honestly confused and frustrated because we had already talked through every detail. I did everything on my side - I can't control their internal notes or communication. After a long back-and-forth, they did eventually agree to honor the open bar, but only for 1.5 hours because of the confusion around the situation. They also comped one wristband as a courtesy, which felt a little underwhelming considering the situation. On top of that, the service throughout the night wasn't good. The bartenders were extremely slow, and it felt intentional because the place wasn't even that crowded. Simple drinks took far longer than they should have, and a friend's order of fries took almost 30 minutes. Open bar or not, when a large group is booked in advance, you expect the staff to be prepared. They either weren't equipped to handle our group or were purposely moving slowly, and either way it made the experience frustrating. The space itself is cool, but the lack of communication, accountability, and basic service really put a damper on the night. I never knew this venue existed until a private Halloween event was hosted here. Reminds me of the mother ship in San Diego. The staff were friendly, the catered food was delicious, and tasty drinks. With external dj, the sound system was balanced. The catered food was delicious. I can't say which was my least favorite because I enjoyed the food so much, I will return for the actual restaurant experience. The guacamole was seasoned, the taco options between chicken and veggie had so many layers of flavor with color. The house chips were fresh and the fries served in Jack o lantern cups were just too good. I was impressed. The kitchen staff did well to accommodate a crowd of 40-60 guest. The bar staff were amazing, I wish they accepted digital tips because I couldn't carry cash due to costume theme event. However the non alcoholic drinks were decent.
