Food - I had beef steak pho, deep fried tofu and an avocado smoothie. They were all pretty phenomenal. Pho actually had depth of flavor, you can tell they actually roast their spices. We visited Miss Pho after seeing the pictures of giant beef ribs sitting in large bowls of pho, which made it seem intriguing enough to warrant a visit for a cold and rainy weekend lunch. I had read reviews about how packed this place gets and I can attest to the accuracy after arriving. While we were able to get seated immediately when we arrived a little after after opening, starting at around 11:45, Miss Pho really got packed, with several parties waiting outside for seats. Do get here early for best results. Miss Pho Special ($26) - The special includes a very beef forward tasting broth, enhanced with the addition of a myriad of flavorful herbs and spices, braised in the broth to bring out the deeply mellow and savory flavors. Quite fresh tasting with a beefy, sour tang towards the end of each sip. After trying the dish, I found that the beef rib is kind of a gimmick. It's difficult to eat in pho, since the periosteum, that cartilaginous sheath that covers the bone, glues the meat onto the bone so that it's very difficult to remove with just a soup spoon and chopsticks. Instead of eating cleanly, for the most part, you have to chew the meat off the bone. It's flavorful and somewhat tender, but takes much more work to eat than the rest of the dish. And let me tell you, the rest of the dish is great. Beef balls, cut up into wedges, enhancing the beefiness and also adding a bouncier texture. Thin pho rice noodles cooked with just a tiny bit of firmness, not overcooked or mushy. There's tendon, stewed until tender and gelatinous, with no tough portions at all. A couple of slices of beef tripe, crunchy in texture, carrying the flavor of the broth well. Several thin slices of tender beef brisket complete the meat portion of the dish. The dish is garnished with scallions and sliced onion - and also, for some reason, a raw egg yolk. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be mixed into the broth or eaten as is. It adds protein and richness, at any rate. The beef rib is a little too extra, but doesn't diminish how delicious this pho is, nor my rating. (5/5) Pho Sa Te Sai Gon, Level 2/5 Spicy ($19) - This dish is similarly fantastic. The broth is thick, rich with the taste of lemongrass, peanut, fish sauce, shallots, and other herbs and seasonings. At a spice level of 2/5, I could feel sweat dripping down my face, with a spice that didn't necessarily hurt the mouth, but instead burned the throat with every sip. Still, the spice level still allowed me to taste all the myriad other flavors in the dish, without being too overwhelming. The mouthfeel, filled with particulate matter, most likely crushed peanuts, almost reminds me of laksa. In fact, I'd say this dish almost tastes like laksa mixed with satay, sans the seafood flavor and a bit of sweetness. The dish comes with tender, thin slices of ribeye, that exhibit a lemongrass-like taste, almost as if they've been marinated for hours. There's brisket, meatballs, and the perfectly cooked pho, as with the other dish. Three slices of cucumber and three wedges of tomato inhabit the side of the bowl. Are these traditionally included in this dish? I don't know, but they do add some additional freshness. (5/5) Both dishes are, of course, served with the requisite bean sprouts, thai basil, and jalapenos. Overall, I left very impressed with what I ate at Miss Pho. The pricing is a bit on the high end ($60 after tax and tip for two bowls of pho is kind of ridiculous), but the uniqueness and quality make up somewhat for the price increase. The portion sizes are also substantial, with both of us leaving with bloated bellies and still having about half a bowl of food leftover. Miss Pho is not a place I would go to for an every day bowl of pho, but it's certainly a restaurant worth visiting for a special treat. The space is clean and casual - a good lunch spot in a shopping center. I decided to try one of their specials - the 'Pho Ha Noi'- it was classic, but elevated . A friend got the 'Pho Sa Te Sai Gon' - also very good, I enjoyed the creamy broth, it was different than any other pho I've tried. I love that they offer coconut milk for the Thai Tea. The staff forgot to bring out some of our order and I had to get up multiple times to get their attention. They were busy, but also just not looking in our direction. You pay at the counter - when I was reviewing the check to pay, one of the servers was hovering and asking me questions. It was really uncomfortable and felt like an attempt to distract from the bill and the fact they hadn't checked on us. We might have paid for something we didn't get, but oh well. Wow, we are glad we found this place on the way to Swansons. Tucked away in a strip mall in Crown Hill, Miss Pho is a must go pho restaurant that is better than other options in Seattle and the Eastside. The broth is very flavorful with spices and rich meat broth, however it is not too salty or oily. The noodles are firm so no worries of it getting too soft in the broth. They also have amazing spring rolls which is a good appetizer while you are waiting for your pho. Get there before the lunch rush that starts at 12pm. This spot is now one of our fave pho places in the Greater Seattle area or maybe even in the world! One of the main reasons we like this place is their food is unique. We've been here twice and both times, my husband and I got the Miss Pho Special, which is a rib eye pho with a raw egg yolk, and the Pho Sa Te, which has a spicy beef peanut broth. The latter has a thicker consistency and is spicier. We also ordered gyoza, spring rolls, and chicken wings and they were all delicious! The service was much better the first time. Also, I can't forget about the appetizers they have my favorite garlic chicken wings which I recommend, but if you're into tofu I also recommend the salt and pepper ones. This place has long waits for very good reason. It's probably some of the best pho I've ever had, and I've had my share in major metro areas like Philly, and around Seattle! Like most standout pho places, we got a nice portion of extra fresh beansprouts, herbs, and other condiments. The raw egg yolk didn't add much, but it's hard to complain with what might be the best pho broth (and perfectly al dente rice noodles) I've ever had. Garlic crispy wings are popular here - they are good, but it wasn't something I'd be compelled to order on repeat. Same goes for the fried tofu, which was crispy but a little bland. This is a nice Vietnamese restaurant with a modern take! I have had many friends that went here and said good things about the food, so I looked forward to this visit a lot. Wait times can be long from what I hear, at least 30 minutes during lunch and dinner hours, so I decided to just arrive at 3:30pm and walked right in immediately (actually took the last table as it was still a full house). I got the crispy chicken wings with garlic butter and pho sa te. Both were extra flavorful which I love. The crispy chicken wings are indeed crispy, and there is a nice buttery and garlic flavor, in addition to onions and green onions. They seemed to just raise the prices to $15 for 9 pieces, which was bit of a shocker when the menu reflected the old price. Pho sa te was also extra flavorful, with some hints of lemongrass, lots of peanuts, and has a nice spicy kick. I opted for level 2 spice so it was medium-mild, so I could enjoy the rest of the food. There is a generous amount of beef to justify the $18 price tag, as that bowl looked on the smaller side compared to a sit-down pho restaurant. I would say it was 50% meat and 50% noodles, which is an excellent balance for me when I bulk. The meat is not the best cuts as there were some that were hard to chew, but the meatballs were good. The noodles were also a bit on the overcooked side. While I really enjoyed the flavors, given the hype, I expected a bit of improvement in the quality. Service is okay. Everything is done at bare minimum, but satisfactory. One slight issue is the server that also does a lot of the cleaning once walked to my table using her phone and just loitered around me without saying a word or attempt to ask if I needed anything, so that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. My daughter and I tried Miss Pho last week and it was the best pho we've ever had! The broth was SUPER flavorful and didn't need any added hoisin or Siracha. It was perfect! We also had the grilled chicken spring rolls...delicious. And their dipping sauce wasn't thick and peanut buttery like most places, it was thin and soupy-like but still packed a lot of good flavor. We had just gotten back from a hike at Carkeek Park and were looking for a place nearby. Miss Pho was right there! It sits in a strip mall, the same one as the very busy QFC (east of the QFC, across the parking lot). The place was packed, and there was a long wait list. We were told a minimum of a 30-minute wait. This was at 2 in the afternoon, which was surprising. Some folks we saw when we arrived (a party of 3) waited for nearly an hour. Clearly, Miss Pho is quite popular, and the reviews would appear to support why! The two of us ordered the Vermicelli Stir Fried Tofu. It was good, but not stellar. I'd say 4 stars. However, the service (once we were seated) was stellar. In fact, I asked Terry (our server, and, I think, one of the owners) if they had salted plum drinks. He looked surprised that I even knew what it was and then told me that it was his favorite drink. He apologized that he didn't have one for me, but told me to call ahead before I came and he would be sure to have some. That is service that goes way, way beyond. Definitely 5+ stars! I don't eat beef, so I usually get Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) at Pho places. Unfortunately, their Pho Ga was beef-broth based, so not an option for me. My date was vegetarian. Which is why we both settled on the vermicelli. As is typical with Pho places, there were not a lot of vegetarian options. (Not outside of expectations, so I wouldn't knock them for that.) There are about 9 tables in the restaurant, but I think their space could support more. They have a scooter sitting in the middle of the restaurant occupying the space in which they could fit two or three more tables. One of the best Pho I've had, and having lived in SoCal for 20+ years being spoiled by Little Saigon, my bar is pretty high. It's a very unassuming strip mall location. Clean and simple decor with open kitchen and a small bar counter in addition to the dozen tables. Take out business is very brisk. If you want to avoid waiting in line for dinner, i would recommend getting there before 5:30. Parking is free and unlike most Seattle places, you can find a spot within the strip mall pretty easily. We ordered Ms Pho Special, basically House Pho + beef rib + raw egg. Broth is very flavorful and clear without a ton of grease. Well balanced amount of noodles and meat. Beef rib is fall off the bone tender and not full of fat. Very impressed. I was unable to finish the bowl and had to take half of it home. We also ordered taro rolls and chicken wings. I love taro, and while almost all pho places offered fried spring rolls, this is the first place i found with taro. Very tasty! Chicken wings are very crispy and a light breading. We ordered the garlic wings and they were great. Super crunchy without being too greasy. It was super busy during our visit. It's so good that I drive an HOUR twice a month and sometimes three times a month just to eat this pho and no other pho ever compares. I've brought friends and family from all over to try this - and the consensus is always the same - "wow!" What makes it so different? I can't really formulate the words that do it justice - specifically the Pho Hanoi is just overall different, more spices more flavorful, more round, the meat the egg yolk creating a creaminess not found in other phos. I've been hunting for good pho in the Seattle area for many years now, and this spot is truly the first time I found something in a league of its own that stands up to the best I've had in my travels. If you're downtown it's hard to beat pho bac who go for a very inoffensively great bowl with a fun pho-inspired cocktail bar upstairs, but if you can venture out of the city I highly recommend the top-tier vietnamese experience at Miss Pho, where not only have they crafted a fantastic pho broth and variants (the miss pho special has all the meats and they're all incredibly high-quality), Miss Pho herself works some magic to serve inspired pho-adjacent creations like a chinese-inspired sesame and peanut pho dish with tomatoes added that is divine, rich, and spicy. Now you can even order homemade chili oil! It's got a great balance of savoriness, a healthy kick, and works well on everything. The vietnamese coffee and thai tea are just as good so don't miss out on those. For a lighter refreshing dish the salt + pepper tofu is great, especially with the homemade sweet chili sauce that's to die for. 4 1/2 stars! I was visiting family and was craving Pho. I found Miss Pho on Yelp. Our party of 3 arrived an hour before closing and we were greeted quickly & cordially. It wasn't too crowded, but as we dined there were more arrivals for dine-in and take out.
