"We're a band of brothers and sisters and whatever On a mission to break all the rules" (Willie Nelson) Mission BBQ opened its doors for business on September 11, 2011. Their patriotic theme, mission, and décor honors the nation's military, police, firefighters, and first responders. There is military memorabilia, photos, police patches, and quotations everywhere you look. The chain is up to 142 locations, and although two of them are in my home state, it took a trip to Rehoboth Beach to mark my first visit to a Mission BBQ. Their menu covers all of the familiar barbecue basics - brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage, ribs, turkey, and the customary side dishes (mac and cheese, beans, slaw). We ordered at the counter, grabbed our soft drink, and waited for our number to be called. We split a pulled pork sandwich ($8.89) and went for Traditional flavor and not the vinegary NC Style, a big order of their Fresh Cut Fries ($3.19), and a $2.89 soft drink. The food was excellent. That one sandwich and single order of fries were plenty for us to split. One great feature Mission has is a six pack of different BBQ sauces at every table, so you can find your perfect formula of sweet, hot, or savory notes to complement your barbecue. We had an excellent lunch and sure enjoyed our visit.

Great spot for a fast and tasty lunch while shopping at the outlets! Even on Black Friday, when the entire Tanger complex was a disaster, Mission kept plugging along. Came at the tail end of lunch and was able to secure a seat and were in and out in no time. I'm glad I attempted a healthier lunch with the pulled chicken, coleslaw and baked beans with brisket. The chicken was delicious and very juicy as well as paired quite well with all of the sauces. My favorite was the WV style with molasses - I just kept adding to everything. The bun was nice and soft and it wasnt too sloppy! The coleslaw was quite good and paired well on the bun with the chicken and by itself. Not too mayo forward with a great bright pop. I loved those beans. My wife got the brisket solo, which was very good as well, but having the brisket in the beans was great. The staff were all SO nice and helpful. Especially on a big shopping holiday like Black Friday, I felt like everyone was so pleasant and helpful. My wife asked for honey and butter with the cornbread, but they only had butter - the manager really searched for honey and was so sweet when they didn't have any. There were a lot of great looking sides and mains and since my wife and I visit Delaware a few times a year, we will be back knowing we can get a great lunch!

We're visiting from Philadelphia and decided to stop by Mission BBQ here in Delaware--and let me just say, this place left a lasting impression on our family. From the moment we walked in, Janiah (GSR) greeted us with a bright smile and a full breakdown of what to expect. Her energy and attention made us feel like more than just customers--it felt like home. And Dwayne D (the DRL) sealed the deal with genuine hospitality, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. The food? Incredible. Flavorful, fresh, and served with care. My mother, who never asks for seconds, went back for more sides--which says everything. Store 134, you guys truly rock. Thank you for giving us such a great experience. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town!

Our subs were made according to how we wanted them. The bread is fresh. The kind of bread we miss down south and which we got used to for living in Upstate NY for more than 40 years. We cannot say anything about the ambiance since we had our order delivered. They are generous with the meat for all our subs. My husband couldn't wait to have the photo taken of his 12" sub. This place is definitely worth trying out if you are looking for some delicious deli subs or a must return to place if you are in the area. Support local!

I ordered a turkey breast and my partner the turkey stuffer (Thanksgiving in a sandwich)…read more The good news is that there is plenty of meat in the huge sandwich they call a "small," and my partner said the insides of the stuffer were good. The bad news is that the bread, although it appears to be fresh, is thick, tasteless and hard. I ate half of my sandwich, chewing and tearing at the bread. I asked for extra condiments (mustard and vinegar), but the bread remained hard and overly-chewy. For the second half, I ate the insides of the sandwich (turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion and sweet peppers) and threw the bread away. All of it. My partner took half of their sandwich to-go and plans to skip the bread when they finish it later. A sub shop should have excellent bread. Or at least decent bread. This is neither. I would give the place 4 - or even 5 - stars for the nice size sandwich, but the bread was really a problem for me. The place is clean and comfortable. There's a soda dispenser with free refills.

They use fresh ingredients and it is a very traditional artisan sandwich style from a classic Italian kitchen. The service is quick, efficient and friendly. The place is very clean. From my first visit alone (omg the aromas wafting out the door & drawing me in) I am compelled to return for more Italian treats! From what I saw and smelled - the pizza is next! Ya gotta love it! From zero to hero!…read more I'm taking back my negative review. After speaking with the restaurant, the owner personally called me to apologize and make it right. Still don't know why DoorDash cancelled the order, but I have to give credit to the owner for being a stand up guy. Thank you! Extremely unhappy. It's Friday night - pizza night. I placed a DoorDash order at 6:30 after leaving work. At 6:45, they CANCELLED my order CANCELLED it. Instead of stepping up to provide the order, they decided it was easier for them to cancel. It was 2 pizzas. Not a huge order. Now I have to figure out an alternatively for my hungry family. Here's a tip Russo's.....if you don't want to do the work, don't take the orders. Cancelling orders for your convenience is NOT how successful businesses operate.

This place is very clean with some cool caricatures of celebs on the walls. The latkes are massive and perfect in every way. The matzo ball soup is simply the best. It has a classic huge matzo ball in a delicious savory chicken stock. This would be enough but you can get the "mish mash" which includes white chicken meat and noodles - yum. The salads are all fresh and well done. The tuna and egg salads are my my favorites. All the sandwiches are of a reasonable size but you can upsize for a price. They offer fine deli quality corned beef, pastrami and home style roasted turkey all of which are phenomenal. You can't go out the door without taking some dessert and/or cookie on the way out either!

Back then, I waited in line for over 30 minutes because the place was so busy, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs with a bagel. The corned beef was full of chewy, inedible chunks, the potatoes were extremely mushy, and even the bagel was disappointing. The entire breakfast was basically inedible. To make matters worse, the restaurant was nearly empty, which was surprising given how packed it had been on my previous visit. I truly hope this was just a one-off experience, but with so many great breakfast options in the area, I honestly don't see myself coming back.

The decor and music choices marry the Latin-inspired cuisine with a classic Rehoboth east-coast beach sensibility. I was made to feel warm (at heart, they still have AC to keep ya cool) and welcome. The highlight was the service. The man (I believe the owner himself) was the cheeriest and kindest man I've met all week. He encouraged all of our choices and offered us to try the delicious beverages (tamarind was my favorite!) Food was served quickly and with a smile. I was very satisfied even though I must admit I kept my choice pretty standard with the Little Missionary. While just a footlong with mayo, ketchup, and mustard, it really hit the spot when I just wanted more of a plain hot dog. My friends got the Little German and Little Cock which were coated in all manner of ingredients. My friends were so content, they got another dog to go.
