Went in to get a smog check as a younger woman. The invoice they gave me was for $50. Breakdown was $41.75 for the smog, and $8.25 for the certificate. I was shocked, as I went with this shop because of the 5 star reviews and lower price, hoping it was a reputable place. Luckily I had requested a quote before going in and was quoted by Leonardo for $35 through yelp. I waited until they finished the smog and came back for my invoice papers and payment, and told them I was quoted on yelp for $35. The guy said okay, turned around, and yelled to his other guys "she's only paying $35". No questions asked, they came back with a scribbled out $50, and put "groupon match" for $35. Odd, if it was suppose to be $50, wouldn't they ask to see the "groupon" or quote to verify? To top it all off, their business card was attached to my paperwork. Lo and behold, the business card states "smog starting at $29.99 plus cert", definitely not $41.75 plus cert. I really fully do believe they saw a young lady and tried to up charge, I don't see why even the business card would be wrong. Nice try, but I am not the one. Hopefully they can do better in the future. The whole incident leads me to tell anyone, male, female, or young. Request a quote. Don't go to these kind of shops dumb without research before hand regardless. read more

Just like everyone reading this, I looked on yelp to see which smog place is affordable and reliable, and guess what you have found the place. I sent a message for an estimate and they did indeed charge me 35$ flat, you just NEED TO SHOW THEM THE MESSAGE and they charge you that! The 2 guys there were down to earth chill and professional. They said I'll take about 30 to 40 minutes that there were 4 cars in front of me but it really took about 15. Again SEND A MESSAGE REQUESTING AN ESTIMATED to get the 35$ coupon, and now you don't need to find another place. read more

This business is down a driveway, on the side of a building that sells flooring. Once you know that, it's easy to find. You check in using yelp from the comfort of your car and then go let them know. There is an outdoor seating area, but it was 105f, so I waited in my car with the AC on. The guys working there are very nice and the testing is fast. The test and certificate were $40.00 with yelp check in. They submitted the info to the DMV and you're done. I am terrible at backing down long stretches and they backed my suv out for me. I kept getting the dreaded "not ready" on the smog test, and the gentleman at Mission Smog shop was able to help me figure out what the problem was and what I needed to do in order to get the car to pass smog. Their knowledge helped me save a ton of money that the dealership wanted to charge me and I was able to get the smog done through these gentlemen and sell the car the same day. They literally had me in and out of their shop in less than 10 minutes. They also did not take advantage of a female who did not know what she was doing with regard to getting this particular car smogged. Customer service was great and the wait was maybe 15 mins , so very quick. The only problem was that when I went to pay I was quoted $50.
