I went into Mistlin Honday on Memorial day with thoughts of buying or leasing a new Honda. I had been bouncing back and forth between a Honda and a Subaru. Initially I dealt with Tony in sales. I naturally dislike car salesmen. I have never trusted them and would prefer they simply leave me alone and let me look. But I have to say Tony was very low key and explained how a lease works vs. a purchase. My wife told them we would like to use our Costco option to buy or lease and we were directed to Henry who is the Costco rep at the sales section. Both these guys were excellent, no pressure and I finally decided to lease the CRV on the showroom. While we were there, Tony Mistlin stopped in and said hello, that was pretty cool. I've heard about him but it was great meeting him. After the sale, we discovered a couple of stains on the back seat (it was a showroom demo), Mistlin had their guys work on it and when we still could see problems, they sent a 3rd party company to our house to continue working on the problem and got the stains out. THEN, they did a scotch guard coating on the entire inside at no charge. These guys bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. We've now had 4 Hondas (first from Mistlin) and I'm sold. I questioned why the on-line schedule indicated appointment is available as early as 7:00am on Monday. She responded 'I don't why but I have been told.....' We had been researching pre owned Honda Odyssey's for some time and came across what seemed like a great vehicle at Mistlin Honda. We contacted the dealership and spoke with a nice young man. During my conversation with him I asked if they had in stock the 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite. He searched the lot and confirmed that they had it. I asked him to confirm it was a touring elite and he confirmed it was. My family and I decided to make the long trek to the dealership to test drive and potentially purchase this vehicle. When we arrived we were greeted by a salesman that seemed to not want to sell a car. He seemed very inconvenienced by our request to bring the vehicle out so we could look at it. He finally decided to do so and was unable to answer many of our questions, he left us and went inside only to have with him another salesman he said would help us. This salesman was nice but very uninformed. He also struggled to answer our most basic questions. Following the test drive where the car literally sputtered when shifting into second gear he stated "well, that's probably because it was just washed". I'm sure hopeful this isn't the case because God forbid we were to purchase this van and we washed it. We asked again and again for confirmation it was a touring elite because it was missing some of the features and after an hour of questioning our belief was confirmed. What had been advertised as a Touring Elite and a great deal at the price was merely a Touring. Instead of apologizing for the bait and switch tactic, the dealership salesman said "well, this happens" and asked if I still wanted to buy it. I said no and left the dealership immediately. Huge caution to those looking to buy a vehicle. This dealership is dishonest and uses bait and switch tactics as an attempt to sell a van. I am hopeful that the next person shopping here doesn't fall for these deceptive practices. There are many other options out there to buy a vehicle. This dealership is yet another confirmation that buyer definitely has to beware. read more

We were in the market for a new car and my husband had done all the leg work with the best pricing that he could get before we actually went to the dealer. Went to get some service done on my Civic due to a recall on airbags. The service department was eh at best when it comes to the customer service. I asked the gentleman how long the work would take and he kept asking me if i was going to drop it off or wait for it. I needed to know how long it would take to service it to know whether i would wait or not. The service only took about 2 hours, which to me was not a problem but since the gentleman who helped me did not tell me how long it would take, i ended up Ubering home. I understand that the Service department is just that, to service vehicles but you still interact with people, hence some customer service skills should also be required from the gentleman. i will not name who it is, theres no need to put someone on blast as customer service should be consistent from ALL employees interacting with customers. read more

Recently, I had some work done on my car. The service was done by Firstone who saved me over half the cost Honda wanted to charge for the same service. After Firestone fixed my car I was told I needed to go to Honda dealership to have them put in their reset code so that a warning dash light would go off since it had been fixed. Here is my issue. Honda Mistlin refuses to use their code and turn off the warning light UNLESS I pay them $80 service charge. When I first bought my Honda Accord from the dealership I payed $35,000 dollars. This is not good business, except for Honda corp to make more money and take advantage of customers. read more

This place is a huge joke. I took my car in twice for the same thing and they can't figure anything out until the car makes the awful groaning noise coming from the clutch. They told me they can't look at it until it makes that noise so I told them to keep it and drive it around for a day and I could leave it overnight but they insisted that I come get my car. After bullshitting me for 3 hours telling me they looked at it for over an hour and wouldn't charge me (even tho my car is still under warranty) which by the way they didn't even drive it, because it had the same mileage on it as when I left. They even told me that they were so busy that they didn't have time to look at it and that they were backed up until Monday even though I had an appointment. Never again will I take my cars back here. Is rather drive to Stockton or Tracy Honda. read more

I came to this dealership to get information on a vehicle I wanted for my personal bank to discuss with them my options. After waiting around for someone to come help us I called the front desk and had them send someone over with keys. After that, the person came back with a second person to help us since the first person sighted some of his previous customers. That person kept leaving. We were alone with two sets of keys to two vehicles for about 5-10 minutes at a time. A third person came and said the second person had an appointment. I told the third man what I wanted, information about the car to send to my bank. He said we can do that here and started a process to sell me the car, which he assured me was to give me information. On my visit 10/19 for a major service I was again very pleased with the service provided by Randy. He went as far as to check my back records and noticed that I did not need to have the valves adjusted for this service. He could have told me it was needed and I would not have known the difference. I went pretty much down each lot on Mcherny, and honestly Honda was the last lot i walked on, but in return i stayed longer and really liked the Honda Accord they had, and they didn't instantly bull rush me in trying to get me in a car. I bought a used Chrysler Pacifica from them. It had some minor damage to the paint in the front and in the back. They set up an appointment to have it detailed and not only did they do a fabulous job, but they also washed it, vacuumed it out and filled the tank! They did not have to go to so much trouble. they could have let it go with AS IS I certainly was not expecting it. And I will seek them out to purchase any other vehicles from now on. I bought a 2018 Honda Civic Touring in November 2018. From the day I bought the car I had issues with it. I had my car in the service department almost as much as I had the car myself. I spent almost as much time in a loaner car than I did my new car. There was some communication issues on the dealerships part that made the process a little tougher than it already was. Honda Corporate and Honda Engineering had to get involved to resolve the electrical issues. A car buying experience should be exciting, mine was quite the opposite. Honda Corporate/Engineering in my opinion was VERY disappointing. I waited out the process and allowed Mistlin Honda let the process to run it's due course. At the end of this unfortunate and disheartening car buying situation, Mistlin Honda was FANTASTIC! Dennis the Co-General Manager, Eli the Sales Manager, Dennis the Service Manager, Sam in Service, and Roosevelt in Sales all the while assured me that I would be happy at the end of this process. I put my trust in them and they upheld their word! They got me out of the car that couldn't be fixed and got me into a 2019 Honda Civic Touring that is PERFECT!!! They took care of EVERYTHING like they said they would. As someone who was loosing faith in corporate America and how our world treats the customer, Mistlin Honda helped renew my faith! This is my favorite place to buy a car. My whole family bought about 4 cars from this place since 2005 and we haven't had any trouble Since. The sales staff that works there is very low pressure and I bought my last two cars from a guy named Tony. In 2008 I wrecked my 2003 Toyota Camry and No it wasn't my fault, because the other gal was texting while plowing into my car at 25mph. It sucked, but at least I was able to walk away with no injuries. The next week AAA declared my car a total loss and they sent me a check. I later took that check and I went to about 3 different dealers. I was comparing Nissan's, Toyota's and Honda's all in the same day. My last stop was Mistlin Honda and I was worried that I was going to have to suffer with another pushy salesman. When I got there I was greeted by Tony and he was the complete opposite of what I had thought. He was very techie and nerdy just like myself. He sold my wife and I a new 2008 Honda Civic with navi and we've had the car since. We came back March of this year and bought another vehicle from him, which was a 2010 CRV for my wife... She Loves It!!! I would also say that I am happy with the Service department. The part I like the best is that they wash my car every time I take it in for service. I usually make sure It's extremely dirty before I bring it in, just so I can get my mooch car wash.... The only thing I don't like is their internet speed, because it's clearwire and it's a little slow, but other than that they got a direct TV with most of the sports channels;) read more

5 Stars for Mistlin Honda. My wife and I had been waiting for 6 months to buy a new car, specifically the Honda Pilot Elite. For the money, we didn't want any color and every dealer in the country were only getting one Pilot Elite in differing colors. We live in a different city and called around. I reached the floor manager Sami Merza in Modesto, California. He was very friendly, professional, and helpful. He told us that Mistlin Honda was going to be getting one Pilot Elite soon and in the color my wife and I were wanting. This particular model and trim were in very high demand and we knew there would be no bartering for the new car price and did't try. Sami was very helpful and took a deposit over the phone to hold it until I could drive there for formal paperwork. I arrived and was greeted warmly by the staff and Mr. Merza. After formally signing the deposit papers, I returned less than two weeks later with my wife and 2 kids when the car had arrived. We also traded in an older Honda minivan. We did some friendly business bartering and arrived at a very reasonable trade in price. We already planned the day out and knew everything was going to take time. We were in the waiting room in between transactions for a modest amount of time with comfortable chairs and were offered several times coffee or refreshments by Mr. Merza. We signed all the papers and were offered the warranty in their finance department. Sami then escorted us back out to our new Honda Pilot Elite to review how everything works. This car has a lot of technology and we appreciated all the personal time and attention we received while we were going over our new car. We were also greeted and congratulated by several of the staff, including Mr. Tony Mistlin himself. We tried to buy our Pilot here because it was less than a mile from our home. They started out by saying they could get me what I wanted. The fact was they wanted to sell me a Pilot off their lot. We left and am I happy. We went home and went online and the next day drove to Stockton Honda. They delivered the Pilot I wanted from Roseville and added a roof rack for less than Mistlin wanted to sell me for the one I wasn't in love with. (No 4 wheel drive, No roof rack, No blue). The real reason I'm writing this review is that we moved to the mountains. Mistlin is the closest Honda dealer. I went with my 3 children for a routine oil change and tire rotation because we had other errands in Modesto. What a mistake. When we got in the car 3 hours later all my kids were talking about is all the curse words the mechanics were using. NICE! I will be driving the extra mileage to visit Stockton Honda from now on. Went in last month got my car serviced. I used the shuttle which was very nice. Aaron was the driver. I thought he was a mechanic. But he's not, just dressed like one. Hands down the WORST SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!! I have lived in many states through my work and hence have had my Hondas (yes, plural. I'm currently on my 5th!) serviced at numerous Honda dealerships. They have this cute sign hanging up on an outside wall, something along the lines about the best people walk in through these doors, our customers. Well, they sure don't treat them as such. I was so disgusted with the lack of customer service that I compelled to write this review. I read through several others, and man. We can't ALL be wrong! Today was my 2nd experience with the service dept. My first one was about a year ago. After having my oil changed and something else (I don't remember what now) I remember thinking, not coming here again. Today, I had to go in for a recall and since I'm there, a couple of other minor things. The service was just not to par. I've come to expect great customer service from Honda, but not this dealership. No one greeted me and we (me and my 2 small kids) waited around as 2 people stood at their desks "working". Not even a, someone will be with you shortly. When someone did assist me, I was getting cut off and interrupted mid-sentence; oh! Here's Henry, let's double check with him. Same thing. I kindly took my key and said thank you, and walked out. If it hadn't been that I was with my children, I would've peeled out, I was that upset! All I got was poor customer service. Never say never so... I WILL NOT BE BACK THERE!! And Mr. Dennis L., sir. I see that you take the time to respond to all these negative reviews. I read most of them. Sir, some of these negative reviews go back to 2012, so this complaint about poor customer service are not new. Responding to these reviews, while I appreciate you taking the time to respond, don't help fix the problem. 2014 and the reviews are still coming in. I have now purchased 3 cars from Thomas Perez. This guy knows his stuff. The first time we bought from him we were comparing between a Camry and an Accord. He was very informative and explained features and benefits of both. He explained it very progressional without bias or bashing Toyota. Because he listen to our needs we were convinced to go with the Accord and been Honda owners ever since. Forget trying to research online it will just confuse and prolong the car buying experience which is hard enough as it it. We deal with Thomas because it's a quick and painless process. Also don't worry about shopping price you will be wasting your time. Trust me we learned this the hard way. He is very easy to work with and we just put our daughter in a 2015 civic lx. We went in not knowing what to get and put our trust in him and as always he delivered. Not only did he deliver we actually shopped him after our purchase which again was a waste of time.
