The last time we went here was disappointing. The mushroom burger was so greasy the mushrooms were coated in grease. They must have changed cooks.The buns fell apart from being too soggy with grease. The French fries were good. We ate outside and the trash cans were full and smelly as well. Not too pleased. I gave them 3 stars because the last time we came here it was good . We stop by Scottie's drive-in in Idaho to try some fries that were made from Idaho potatoes. I ordered some fries some tater tots and some drinks. Overall it was pretty good the tater tots were especially better tasting than the fries. This restaurant was kind of run down and did not look as appealing when we first entered. Staff is super friendly and accommodating to our orders and quick to get our food to us. Overall would give it a try if you're in the area and wanting to try some Idaho potato fries. read more

The best steak fingers and breaded mushrooms I've ever had anywhere normally the steak is dry but here it was moist and the mushrooms were hand breaded. Picnic tables outside when the weather is nice but no indoor seating so it's your car or take out. read more

The fries are still pretty good but not like they were in the 90's .... Burger was a little sub par but not bad. The biggest change in the restaurant is the customer service.... They don't give soda refills but prompt you to tip... Stand in line to order and go to the counter to get your food ... tip for what? McDonalds brings your food to you and you don't tip there. They messed up my wife's order "cheeseburger with mushrooms on it"..... they gave her a filet of fish... the owner said "that's what she ordered ". My wife will not eat fish and never orders it ... the owner seemed angry instead of apologizing..... done with Scott's this time for sure. read more

Scotty's is a pretty standard drive in, right down to the feel of the building, with a small area inside for ordering and plenty of covered seating just outside. It's nothing mind-blowing, but if you want a decent old school burger, then this is a good place to stop. I got the Great Scott combo, which, after thinking about the name, makes sense that it's essentially their version of the Big Mac, although it's more flavorful than it's bland, corporate source of inspiration. The fries and fry sauce were also good - it's hard to go to wrong with fries in eastern Idaho, though. Service was quick and I had no issues ordering or picking up my food once it was done. If I'm ever in Idaho Falls again and need a quick bite, I'll definitely consider Scotty's again! read more

This remnant of midcentury Americana still exists with fountian like cola's, milkshakes and malteds. The original sign with four UFO looking saucer still exists in Idaho Falls. I only just found out that Scotty's was once a chain with locations in 6 states. The chain dissolved in 1968. There are only 3 locations in 3 states still open today but with no connection to one another. Scotty's in Idaho Falls is one of them. The menu and store bring memories of days of yore. I have been here many times over the years. This use to be one of the most popular teen hangouts. Not sure if it still is. They use local beef from Doug's meats in Shelley, ID. They make thick old fashioned hand spun milkshakes with a myriad of flavors not widely found. Local favorite Reed's dairy provides milk and ice cream for Scotty's. Hand cut Idaho spuds for fries!! I have always thought that they have the best fries in the west! If you come here you really have to try one of there wonderful milkshake flavors or a unique soda flavor. When I was a kid the servers would roller skate your food out to you. There use to be menu's with speakers in them. Now there is just the parking lot. Idaho Falls has always had a variety of soft drinks that you can't find anywhere else. Because of the unique flavors of soda pop many of the restaurants offer the same unique flavors. Seating is limited inside the restaurant however there are tables and benches outside to sit. This place has been around as long as I can remember. Apparently it celebrated 50 years in 2014. For being 53 years old this place looks great. Huckleberries is a very popular flavor in Idaho. Here all the fast food restaurants have fry sauce. There is a huge debate as to who invented the fry sauce Idaho or Utah. Being an Idahoan I side with Idaho. We go the Great Scot value meal consists of hamburger, fry and drink. The Great Scot is triple cut sesame seed bun, two patties of all natural, extra lean choice beef, a special thick 1000 Island dressing, pickle, lettuce, onion and real cheddar cheese. AWESOME!!! The hamburger was not as tasty as I remember. It was good just not as awesome good as I remember. The fries, fry sauce and my Huckleberry Mountain Dew was awesome. read more

I called an order to be picked up. 10 mins later I was there to get my food. It was a Scottys pastrami with a side of fries. I scooped up my food and went home excited to experience this old fashion hamburger stand. I was Amazed at the orderly and cleaning going on in the middle of our pandemic. My order was ready and Hot. I took it home excitedly to share my meal with my best friend and dog. Wow! It was absolutely the best pastrami burger this side of the Mississippi I've ever enjoyed. And I've traveled enough to know. These young adults were so polite and worked in such a professional manner, they put all other fast chain food stores to shame! Stopped by here for the 1st time, burgers were nothing to rave about. They lacked seasoning and a little sloppy. We tried some of the sides, the fried mushrooms and cheese curds were also bland. Horrible service! I came visiting from out of state. My family lives in Idaho, they recommended the food at this establishment. However, the moment I walked in, I got incredibly rude service from the employee named Whitney A. I would never go there or recommend to anyone. I called to speak to a manager and they refused to let me speak to a manager. She gave attitude when I asked for water, free water instead of my drink that I was paying for and refused. I asked for ranch and she gave me fry sauce instead, I asked for the ranch I was paying for and she refused and said I had to pay for it again. Nothing special about this burger joint. Prices are slightly high for the average burger. Fries were super greasy. The burger patties are flat and reminds me of McDonald's 10:1 patties they use for their basic burgers. Customer service seems be rather depressing. No one had smiles on their faces and they seemes like they didn't want to be there. It only took 10 mintues to get the food out which isn't bad.
