I went on a Tuesday for lunch. I went to the door to ask for a table and several waiters walked by me without saying anything. Finally, one of then stopped to ask me if I was being helped and when I said no and that I needed a table, he said I could sit anywhere. Fine, but then when I chose a table, they asked me to move because they were going to put it together for a four top. So I moved to a new table and it took 15 minutes for anyone to come over. When the waiter finally came over, all I got was a cursory "Sorry for the wait," the tone of which did not sound sorry at all, and then an impatient stare, which I took as my cue to put in my order. I put in my order and was told that I had to give them a credit card to hold because I was sitting outside. I had a moment of confusion because I had never been asked that at a restaurant before, and when she saw my confusion, the waiter, instead of explaining or reassuring me, she said "there's signs everywhere," as if that is supposed to help clear things up. Like, yeah, I didn't think you were making it up, but it's still a weird policy. The menu is creative, but the food, when it came, was flavorless and bland. The soft taco tortilla fell apart, spilling contents everywhere (this is not new and has happened to me at this restaurant before). And then when the check came, they had added gratuity, something I've never seen on a table of fewer than 6 people. The check had a note on it saying to let your waiter know if you wanted to change the tip. So if I wanted to tip less for bad service, which I did, I had to have an awkward conversation, which I did not want to have. This is incredibly manipulative and worse, it worked. I let them keep the tip. I've tried miti miti several times at this point. It's usually okay, but never great. Honestly, I don't know why I keep going back. Hope springs eternal, I suppose. Brought my niece here to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We had a part of 7, the staff was amazing they were friendly and on point. I'm sure this had to be a busy day. I'm so late with this review, not sure what held me back but here goes. This was my 3rd time at Miti Miti, and each time it got better. My first time was during Covid and I wasn't vaccinated so we ate outdoors, and they have hands down the best heated seats I've experienced, it was actually warmer than the restaurant during November. My favorite thing about Miti Miti was their selection.. you can find chicken and beef anywhere, but how often can you find lobster tacos ? I'll wait. There's also lobster quesadillas, tostadas and even lobster guacamole. They also have a wide variety of wing flavors from mango to lemon pepper. Everything listed above was great. I've had this place bookmarked for almost 2 years so I was excited to finally make my way in Sunday evening. We sat at the bar and immediately put in our order of 6 tacos and some drinks. I ordered a frozen lychee margarita. It was so good. My green goddess taco came out 20 minutes later. We were wondering where the rest of the tacos were. I did not want to be rude, but I was starving and started eating my taco. It was so good but extremely greasy. After 15 more minutes go by and the other people who arrived at the bar after us received their tacos before us, we asked the bartender where the rest of our food was. Before he went to the kitchen to go investigate, we ordered the red sangrita, which were just okay. While waiting for the rest of our tacos, I go to take the last bite of my taco and bite into some hard piece of plastic that almost cut into my gums. I immediately informed the bartender and he went to go call the manager to speak with us. The manager came out and was extremely apologetic. We informed him that we were still waiting on some tacos. He brought them out for us and told us that he would take a look at our bill when it was time for us to leave. We got some grilled shrimp tacos and grilled fish. The grilled shrimp was my favorite. I would go back just for those. At the end of our meal, the bartender brought our bill to the manager. The manger took off the contaminated goddess taco from our bill. I eat out a lot and in other dining experiences, managers would have taken off a percentage of the bill and offered us something more than just a free $5 taco that had a sharp piece of dirty plastic in it. I felt that he could have done much more for such an overall shitty service. The bartender was nice enough to take off the sangritas. Thanks for doing more for us than the manager could! read more

I really want to give this place more stars as they were so close, but things were just off for most of the meal. Everything was very slow, which we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush to get anywhere, but then we had some mishaps. As part of the lunch special you get free soft drinks, but they didn't come until we asked twice for them. My tacos order came with one wrong taco. The plate was taken away, then the same plate returned to me 5-10 mins later, with the wrong taco missing. The correct taco showed up a bit later, but wasn't warm. My partner meanwhile was waiting until my food arrived to eat, meaning his wasn't too warm when mine did arrive. Then we were charged 20% gratuity automatically (which we paid). Drinks- They have a variety of flavors for the margaritas and you can mix flavors like I did for an extra $1. Their frozen margaritas are really tasty but not really that strong. Margaritas are regularly $11 and $8 during happy hour. I combined pineapple w| lavender, and hibiscus w| lychee and both combos were bomb.com! Food- their tacos are really good too! The pork belly taco is my absolute fave! It's sooo flavorful n yummy. The coconut shrimp taco is also delish! And we even tried their octopus taco! (See photos). Roasted Brussels sprouts, kale, jalapeño hummus and sprinkles of love. It's soo good!! And doesn't taste as healthy as it sounds. It's full of flavor. The vegan burrito served at brunch is filling and tastes nutritious and delicious--it's loaded with sweet potato. I finally tried the Baked Tofu tonight and it's another winner. Two large wedges of tofu adorned in salsa verde. I got tostones and arroz con beans for my sides. It comes with a light garlic sauce for tostone dipping goodness. Ordered the Camerones a la Diabla, along with an adornment of mimosas and some bloody Mary's. The basic bottomless comes with beer, Bloody Mary, and like 10 flavors of mimosas. Mimosas definitely with with lots of bubbles. You get your moneys work after only 2-3. Entree was beautifully presented. Lots of huge, flavorful, fresh shrimp. Love the fact that it's located walking distance from the Barclays Center. In fact, I actually went to the Jordan Brand Classic game immediately after my second visit. Indulged in the Shrimp Tacos with maduros, rice and black beans both times. The passion fruit margarita wasn't so enjoyable to me, therefore, I had a couple of pina coladas instead. I hate to say this, but I had two not great experiences here. The most recent one was a few days ago when we ordered drinks and not one, but two drinks had hairs in it. The server was very nice about it, but nothing was even comped and the manager didn't come out to speak to us. The margaritas are just okay at best, very sweet and taste premade. The outside isn't great given all the scaffolding. Chela is a much better Mexican restaurant for similar prices. For starters we ordered the chips with the papaya pico de Gallo- this would be a 3/5, very subtle hints of papaya, where some of my friends couldn't event taste it We also ordered the guacamole which was good, not amazing so 4/5 My friend and I split the lobster quesadilla and roasted cauliflower which both get 4/5. I liked the lobster quesadilla, but the cauliflower was a little too sweet. Lastly, we ordered the skinny margarita which I personally will give a 5/5, it was very strong. I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 12PM. Surprisingly, street parking was not very hard to find! The host said the waitlist is 40 minutes, but we waited for about 15 minutes and we were seated. As we were walking in though, we saw SO many tables open... But they may have been reserved tables. I didn't get to try that out because I brought my car, but it seemed like a good deal. We ordered the chicken taco, fruity pebble pancakes, and chicken and waffles. The food was honestly not amazing. The fruity pebble pancakes were pretty bad, and we ended up eating one bite and left the rest untouched. Chicken taco was descent. Chicken and waffles come with waffles and 4 wings, which made it pretty difficult to eat... I ended up just eating the waffles and chicken separately. It was the tastiest out of all of them though.
