    Beef Koobideh Beef Plate
    Emilyn A.

I would give the food 5/5 stars! The beef koobideh kebabs are so juicy, flavorful, and delicious and the rice is fluffy and buttery. I also really enjoyed the fresh salad! This is a place I'd happily order takeout from but wouldn't want to dine in- the woman taking my order did not greet me, ask if I wanted anything to drink, or offer bags for the Persian candy I bought from the grocery store. Hopefully the service can improve because the food here is phenomenal!

I bought food to-go. The gentleman who works here is very friendly and professional. He gave me some great suggestions. Customer service was great! I had to wait 15 minutes, but it was worth the wait and it didn't seem to take long. I forgot to take pictures because the food was devoured right when I got home. The family loved it! Delicious Mediterranean food at good prices! The restaurant is a cute little cafe to eat at, but I frequently see people taking food to go.

Wow! There's literally a large sign outside the entrance that says they'll feed you if you are hungry even if you don't have any money. I'm really touched by how generous and compassionate the owners of this establishment are. If all humans were like this maybe world hunger wouldn't exist??? This little cafe is modest but it definitely has soul. I would come back here whenever I'm craving beef koobideh, which is excellent. Many blessings to Mitra's Cafe!!! Xoxo

I went based on strength of reviews and ordered falafel plate for pickup. The falafel unfortunately were dry so I was disappointed. I heated the leftovers with water in the microwave the next day which helped, but still not good. What I absolutely LOVED about the place was this sign outside. We need more love and care in the world. For this reason alone I will go back.

We ordered the Gyro plate and Filet Mignon plate and it did not disappoint. The flavors are so amazing, the rice was perfect and my son was in love with the fries. This is one of those gem in the Murrieta Temecula area that is a must if you're looking for something authentic, cooked with that home cooking love, and want to enjoy our diverse local community. Mitra's is a must!!!

Their kabob special is so good as well as the mini burger when your eating on a budget but still needs to be healthy.

I am obsessed with Za'atar so I definitely had to try the Za'atar flat bread and it was delicious plus everything else we tried was just as amazing. Right away I decided to look no further and booked them to cater the food for my birthday. The kabobs, beef, chicken shawarma and everything we ordered was outstanding!! Our guest were all super happy and kept asking where we ordered the food from so I'm sure they will also be visiting the place soon. Needless to say the owners are super sweet and helpful!!! Sadly I didn't take any pictures. So busy running around I totally forgot!

I started with the lentil soup, which was rich and comforting, then moved on to an appetizer combo of falafel, kibbeh, and lahme bajin. Everything was delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the molasses on top of the kibbeh and would've loved a bit more tahini, but even then it was still excellent and hardly worth complaining about. I also ordered the chicken kebab plate, and I have to say, the salad dressing was simple yet easily one of the best I've had in a long time. The rice tasted like true homemade, family-style cooking, which I really appreciated. And the lahme bajin? So good that I ordered six more to go. Absolutely worth a visit.

I wish I could say that I enjoyed the food. The up charges on credit card fees and side orders are…read morea little extravagant. The chicken shawarma sandwich was very small for $14. If you wanted a side order with that they charged an extra $4 which was a surprise because it's hard to see the $4 up charge on the menu. However, the french fries were very good so I'm not really complaining about that. The sandwich was very tangy and the meat was dry. The beef shawarma plate that we got first came out with crispy crunchy beef that you could crunch into crumbles in your fingers. I sent it back and the second was cooked better but the flavor was extremely off-putting. There was an excessive amount of sumac on top of the meat, much more than is needed. Also , the taste of wine (I'm assuming it was in the marinade) was very strong. I thought that the baba ganoush I received as a side was very tasty and smoky. It did have a large amount of olive oil floating on the top which was a tad overkill but, still, it was tasty. The presentation of food was impressive. I must say that the service was very good. There was one server that was serving everyone in the entire restaurant and she was really on the ball. There was only one person cooking in the back so food was coming out a little at a time at our table of eight people. Some of us were almost done eating before the last person even got their meal. There were people at our table that got served first. Then we would see food going out to other tables before the rest of the people got served at our table. To me this was a little disorganized and it would really benefit this restaurant if they were a bit more organized and had an extra employee or two for lunch time. I guess the main issue we had was that the food was not good and it wasn't served to all the people at the table in a timely manner. All the food did come out hot thanks to our stellar server. Regarding returning to this restaurant, I do not think I will be returning. We have other Mediterranean restaurants in the area that have better food. A+ for the service and probably C- for the food.

The restaurant is large with a mix of tables and booths and the buffet is set-up on the back wall. There was a decent amount of food available, not too much to where the quality gets lost. Everything I tried was delicious and fresh. There was paneer, chicken, rice, mushroom dish, lentils, etc. The team there were always checking the food and refilling. There was a fresh fruit/salad area that we didn't try. We got yummy, hot garlic nan upon request, that was so amazing! Our waters were always refilled and they do have alcohol for purchase, which i'll have to try next time. Price is reasonable and the selection of food is top notch. We will absolutely be back.

We had dinner here last night: yellow curry (which was actually quite red), a paneer dish, garlic naan and basmati rice. Everything was flavorful and delicious! We had another 20% Off coupon, making this a very reasonably priced meal. The inside is big with a lot of tables. It's not fancy, just casual. Service was good. Food came out super fast. At 6pm we were the only ones in the restaurant. Apparently they get very busy during their buffet that goes from 11am-2:40 pm daily for $15.99. I would like to return to try the buffet.
