    Lamb Gyro Sandwich
    Mel T.

Stopped in to pick up some lunch on a Sunday 1:30. I didn't get good vibes because 1. There were no other customers there 2. It was an 80 degree day and the AC wasn't on, so who knows if the food handling is safe. Decided to go against my gut and order anyway, and the food was actually pretty good (albeit salty), and we didn't get food poisoning (YAY!) I had a lamb gyro (comes with fries), and my BF had the lamb platter. Both came with a considerable amount of meat. They also have different specials each day. On Sundays, it's $1 off platters/meals so make sure you ask about it before you pay or else they won't deduct it. Is this the best Halal food ever? No. Will it do the trick if you're craving it? Yes, but just be sure to have plenty of water at hand for after the meal.

This place is a joke. This is what your platter looks like when you take out the lettuce

They really give low amounts of food and up charge for lettuce. Order on Uber eats and had a very bad experience and would not recommend. 20 bucks for half a portion of rice and beef, food arrived super cold as well. Missing pita bread that was "supposed" to come with the food.

Was so excited to see Mix Platter open and to have something like the New York style cart food in Hudson County. So when I saw it finally open earlier this week, decided to try it out for lunch. - Food: They seem to have a lot of options for their platters, including fish in addition to the regular meats and Falafel. I went with the Falafel Platter which comes with Salad, Rice, Falafels (four) and one small piece of Pita Bread (~$7.50). They allow you to pour the white sauce and hot sauce yourself, so I essentially drowned my food in the white sauce. Unfortunately, the falafels were terrible -- they tasted very bad with an oily aftertaste. They were obviously not fresh, as I saw an employee take out the falafels from a huge frozen bag. The rice and salad weren't anything special and frankly pretty bland, but went well with the white sauce which was delicious! - Service: The service was ok, aside from an incident where I had to wait for a couple minutes to order food because a manager was yelling at one of the employees, which was a bit awkward. Aside from that, fairly quick service after the order was placed. In general, while I had high hopes for Mix Platters, I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Falafel platter with salad and fries (minus the pita that's supposed to come with it)

I really wanted to like this place as I observed construction and couldn't wait to try it. For starters, the service was ok. As we waited to place our order it seemed like there was a semi heated discussion taking place in front of us behind the counter between 2 employees. So for about a minute we stood there waiting for them to stop talking before they even took our order. At one point, they looked at us then continued with their discussion. The establishment appears to be super clean and bright so that's a plus. I ordered the falafel platter ($7.47 including tax) It came with 4 falafels, rice or fries, salad and pita. I chose fries instead of rice. Unfortunately the only good thing about this platter was the fries. The falafel was not good at all. It had a terrible after taste that turned me off from even finishing the first bite. I observed the cook pull the falafels from a bag to cook so my guess is that they are pre-made. They also forgot to include my pita. I honestly don't know if I'd come back as this is the first time that I've never been able to finish a meal because I didn't like the taste. I personally love falafel so I was really surprised that it tasted this bad.

    Could've tasted better and hotter

Too bad nothing here is made fresh in house. Everything is frozen and pre made. I was actually very excited to have this place open up but after checking out their quality, I think I'll stick to the carts in Jersey City. The only thing they put on their flat top to cook was my pita. My chicken came out of a warming pan and it wasn't even hot when I bit into it. The white sauce comes out of a container and who knows how much calories and preservatives are in there. But that's about all that gave my gyro any flavor. I agree with other reviewers on their customer service. They talk way too much to themselves and don't pay attention to you, even when you're clearly standing there ready to order. I saw other people ordering platters to go and they were stingy on the amount. Are they not aware that Halal Guys pack their tins up to the top with food and only charge $7??? I saw the man put lettuce in this guy's container and then take some off. The lettuce that costs a dollar to buy that yields a crap ton of portions. Seriously?? And my tabbouli had sand in it! I can't come back here, nothing is fresh. Go eat at Mamoun's in Hoboken for awesome falafel and meats!!

Delicious and fresh. Ordered through seamless. Order came early and packed! Enough sauces and everything is delicious. Definitely order from them!

Staff lets you have free samples to taste so you can know which one to order. I love that you can watch them scoop it with care. It really feels like a little work of art in a cup or cone. They also have a great selection of gelato bars and popsicles if you're in the mood for something handheld. The staff is always friendly and patient, especially when you're standing there overwhelmed by all the delicious options. The levels are confusing in this mall because a lot of people assume level 1 is where the stores are at. But level 1 is just parking & cars. Second level is where things begin, and third level is Big Snow & Bang Cookies. It's a small booth, in the center. I was craving sugar after a really good snowboard day, which is my go to flavor after snowboarding any day xD, but I've been eyeing these cookies for awhile! I'm so glad I tried them! Definitely will return! There was a line to get these cookies, so they must be something special!! PRICE They're $5 a cookie, but these cookies are muffin sized! They're gigantic! Very worth the price. A lot to eat. You will not finish it in one sitting, especially more so certain flavors. Certain flavors are just over powering. I have a huge sweet tooth, and I did not and could not finish this in one sitting. They're super soft too, well baked, way better than Crumbl Cookies. Packaged well. They do have deals, for example I bought 4 and got 1 free. Lots of unique flavors to choose from. Many sell out before the end of the day! COOKIE FLAVORS I TRIED: - Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk - Snickerchurro - Triple Chocolate - Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk SEA SALT CHOCOLATE CHUNK Sea salt chocolate chunk was good but I didn't quite taste the the sea salt. It tasted like a regular chocolate chip cookie. A bit too sweet for my liking and I felt like I was gonna throw up a few times after eating it. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 SNICKERCHURRO Snickerchurro loveeeeed the gingerbread flavor. But it had too much filling inside of it. The taste of everything was amazing but the filling was just too much to enjoy well. It took me multiple times to finish it. Rating: 4 out of 5 TRIPLE CHOCOLATE Tasted more like a brownie, and probably my favorite out of the bunch. Probably because this was the only one I could finish in one sitting because it wasn't over powering. Rating 5 out of 5 PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHUNK This is an easily forgettable flavor. There's nothing that was wrong with it, and there was nothing that really stood out to me either. It tasted like a regular peanut butter chocolate cookie. Rating: 3 out of 5 OVERALL It took me the span of a full week to finish all the cookies. I gave my "free" cookie to my sister. Which she also ate one half one day and the other half another day. They are huge and some of the flavors can be a lot. But they're highly worth the money and will try to stop by at an earlier time to buy some of the other flavors! If I do, I will update my review.

Not long after arriving, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that instantly made me feel at home -- Lyndhurst Pastry Shop. This led me to "SACKING" tons of NFC QB's over the years. From day one, Paulette, Jerry, her father, and the entire staff have treated me like family. Decades later, they are still absolutely knocking it out of the park. Whether it's their incredible Italian ice, authentic cannoli, specialty cookies, or my personal weakness -- their unbelievable apple rings -- this place never disappoints.
