I picked up from here and brought home for lunch today. Upon picking up the order oh.my.goodness this place is so cute! Very visually appealing and I love the touch of fresh vegetables displayed on the front counter and tomatoes out on the tables- it just gives you the feeling of I'm about to eat something really fresh but also rustic and cozy at once. And, to me, the food really delivered on this. I had the falafel burger, my BF had the candy steak, and we shared the pita chip salad. My pita bread was so tasty and soft, and the falafel was seasoned so nicely- not too salty. A fun twist to have a "falafel burger" too. The salad had all of these fresh herbs and a delicious tahini. I really appreciate how well seasoned and fresh everything was. I am excited to go back and try more things! read more

I hope this place is a success. The people who work there are beyond nice which is such a nice atmosphere. The food needs to get better and with time I'm sure it will. The caramelized sweet potato had no caramelization at all. Just a very small, plain sweet potato . Brisket pita had large chunk of fat which made up about 1/3 of the pita. We were on lunch so didn't have time to return it but should never had been it in the first place. Steak pita quite good and pita bread itself nice and fluffy. read more

It began very well. Hot fresh fluffy pita bread with creamy tahini, crispy falafel with creamy interior, absolutely delicious. Then I came back a month later for a to go order, got home and it was dried out hard golf balls for falafel. I must have subconsciously erased it from my memory so I returned tonight to bring home dinner for me and my girlfriend. What was in the photo was this huge falafel burger in a fresh pita with fresh tomatoes... what came out of the bag was green mortar pretending to be falafel inside a soggy pita bread. No tahini dripping over the burger like in the photo, just a sloppily dollop of sauce way at the bottom smushed into a flat tasteless tomato. Really sad. AND! , I had the nerve to order the grilled cauliflower. I'm returning it tomorrow as evidence of carcinogenic burnt flacid pale vegetable posing as cauliflower. I'm going to ask for a full refund as we couldn't eat any of it. What I'm sure happened was the owner began in earnest and turned out deliciousness, then said to his staff "you got this!", then walked away for a year. No oversight. No quality control. read more

The food is delicious, definitely the best new restaurant to come to 3rd street in years! The place is very clean and the ambiance is warm! I had the kosher burger on my first visit and the lamb in a pita on my second visit both delicious, I live only 600 feet away, I think the tahina could use some salt and lemon though. read more

Counter service Israeli food. All of the greatest hits. The food comes out quickly and is amazing. We started with the bag of green beans - lemon, garlic, olive oil, and salt - a great snack to get going. I had the lamb pita and my wife had the cauliflower pita. Both were perfect. Lamb was a ground kabob style and the pita was stuffed with onions, pickles, and a tahini sauce that mixed up with all of the juices. I'll definitely get it again, but there are 5 other things on the menu I want to try. Ended with the tahini cookie - bittersweet chocolate melted throughout with crispy edges and flaky salt on top - like the best homemade cookie you've ever had. Restaurant vibe is great. Lots of seating. Music is a mix of classic dance/disco and Israeli songs. I plan to come often. read more

Yum, yum, yum! There's just nothing at Miznon that's not seriously delish! The cauliflower, tomatoes, onions and peppers are so charred and yummy you don't need meat. The sweet potatoes and run over potatoes are divine. The hamburger, lamb and rib eye pita are juicy, spicy, pickley -- the best. The lemonade is loaded with fresh mint. The pita is the best and so are the tahini and hummus. The staff is fabulous! Ben, Shayel, Kash, the cooks and the always fabulous Empress will take great care of you! We love Miznon! read more

One of the worst experiences I had at a restaurant, ever! The staff (specifically the guy at the sales counter) was repeatedly rude. I left a tip at the counter when we purchased the food. Yet, we had to bus our own table, our food was delivered to a different table, who ate it. After waiting 20 minutes we reminded them we didn't receive our order. They were at first confused. When the order arrived, the pita sandwich was tasty, but expensive and somewhat small. The salad was small and expensive, and the hummus plate I ordered looked nothing like the hummus plate in the picture. It was a small shallow plate with what seemed like watered down hummus, a few garbanzo beans and three dollops of schoog (green sauce) and came with one pita. It was listed on the menu as "the best hummus plate you've ever had". Yet in reality it hardly tasted like hummus, was no more than a small appetizer, and cost $18, what would buy you a beautiful tasty full meal at, say, Panini Kabob Grill. When I complained about the hummus plate being so small, I was instructed to buy more if I'm still hungry. With full honesty, this place provided small dishes, upsold not reflective menu descriptions, was unacceptably expensive for what you get, and the service was one of the rudest service I've ever experienced. I left feeling cheated, disrespected, and hungry after spending close to $70. Looking at their reviews, I see that there are others with similar experience. So my experience was not an exceptional case. I will not return. read more

Unfortunately, the reviews did not even come close to how amazing this place is. Eden was our guide for the meal and he could not have been more on point with his suggestions. The meat in the bag was incredible as was the most delicious and tender schnitzel I have ever eaten. The hummus was also top notch and the fried cauliflower was the best I have ever eaten.
