Mizu in West Windsor is a Japanese restaurant serving sushi and other Japanese entrees. For dinner we started off with crispy gyoza and seaweed salad followed by a lovingly (hehe) arranged Valentine roll with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and avocado wrapped in heart-shaped soy bean paper. Mizu is a casual spot to enjoy some delicious and affordably-priced sushi in the Princeton area

Great good and great atmosphere. I was quite shocked in the location, but once inside it's a very well put together Japanese restaurant. The miso soup was great and warm, the options for sushi rolls and cut are vast. And the tempura ice cream was a little hard, but still good. The staff was tentative to filling beverages and food came out fresh and quick. I would eat here again.

My goodness, their food was good! My boyfriend's pork was easily the best fried pork we've ever had at a Japanese restaurant. He hated that they put a paper doily under his pork though. We understand it was to absorb grease or for decoration but it took him a few minutes to pull all of it off of his food. I recommend they just leave that out of the dining experience. My chicken teriyaki was great too. Our only complaint is having to ask twice for basic things such as a straw or utensils. The ambience is modest yet serene. We probably wouldn't eat-in again due to the questionable service but we would definitely drive those extra miles for take-out. I only took one star off because the food is superb.

I keep it pretty simple when it comes to sushi, but I really liked this spicy yellowtail roll. Also tried the lava roll but my fav dish was their rock shrimp. It was still so crispy even with ordering takeout!

Had a huge tempura craving, and Mizu gave me my fix. Their unique sushi pizza is a handful of sashimi on a scallion pancake and it's super delicious. Their tempura wasn't super crispy even though I ate it within 10 minutes of picking it up, but the taste was still good. The rolls were also your standard spicy rolls, had a tiny kick, and were satisfying. Overall really like this place if you only have one or two things you're really craving, and their food is good quality.

Kenny performing precise knife work behind the sushi bar. More sushi for American palettes atop, below fresh fillets of delicious fish.

Fantastic fresh sushi! Simple perfect sashimi for the delicate palette or Americanized rolls with bolder flavors. Great kitchen entrees and appetizers as well. I'm always treated like family here! Have ever and always had exceptional meals and conversations at Mizu! ***Survived and thrived doing a magnificent take out business during COVID, now opening up for sit down service...following all appropriate guidelines.

3 rolls for $12 for lunch! It also comes with salad and miso soup :)

They have sashimi, nigiri, rolls, and a lot of other Asian sides and fares. A good variety to just having fish! I especially recommend the galbi and the yuzu if you have the room in your stomach. Otherwise, a great place AYCE that is on the pricier end, but is well worth the extra bucks here.

The inside did have a nice darker Asian themed decor to it. I got a bento box with salmon. There is a good amount of food here for the price, but most of it was overdone. Not bad for sure, but in an area flush with Asian cuisine options, it may not be my first pick.

Service is pretty fast and friendly; the waiter switched our soup orders by accident, but when he came back to bring more stuff, he noticed when we had switched them, which I give him some credit for. Everything is nice and fast, no issues there. Inside, it's a pretty good amount of space, and nice decoration throughout. My friend and I both thought the door to get from the foyer into the restaurant had a really nice design. Everything in there is clean and nicely put together. Thus, while service was reasonable, a person shouldn't assume anything about anyone: not these days, nor any era. To give each customer the benefit of doubt is the most basic of refined manners. The food, however, is well prepared and fresh in quality. The restaurant does seem to cater towards a more elderly audience based on the presentation styles and music choices. While the vegetables and shrimp dishes were clearly fused from different cultures to some extent, the fried rice might have had a bit too much salt as diabetes is on the rise these days--so we tend to choose lighter salt in meals. The pricing could also be more reasonable for simple and traditional choices.

Management needs to address this so employees aren't left dealing with frustrated customers because of a known system failure.
