Now that menu is also MASSIVE and CREATIVE- you will have many options, and if you're anything like me, I got something from the light menu and added some sides for a lil protein. I came here recently for brunch with a friend and everyone was so friendly and welcoming from the minute we walked in. I haven't tried a lot of vegan alternatives before and was intrigued by the hot honey shrooms and waffles. He said all the things we ordered were the most popular items, so he didn't have any additional insight on the best things to eat. He also declined to share about the origins of the business, but did point us to some signage on the wall about the owners. Food - we ordered cauliflower wings - buffalo sauce for the table. Just the right amount of kick. I think the breading may need some work, but overall, solid. Next, I got Hot Honey Shrooms & Waffle. It's literally the same as their Chi'ken Fried Shrooms and Waffle. Except it has the hot honey on the side. The shrooms were a little salty for my taste on their own. So creamy and flavorful you can't even tell it's vegan, and the chip to dip ratio is perfect. 5/5 Truffle fries were yummy but are just fries and nothing special/different. Enjoyable as long as you love fries. 4/5 Lump crab gumbo was good but not sure how it compares to regular gumbo since I've never had that. One basic waffle for $11 is too much. I didn't care much for it. It's served with syrup. My friend initially ordered a sushi roll. She found it too salty. Came her after a doctor visit in med center and was famished. We had the option to sit indoors or outdoors and it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. The patio area is beautifully shaded and there are fans throughout which help provide a nice breeze. Servers and staff are very friendly. I ordered a latte and got the Johnny Nash Sweet Potato Hash (got the brussel sprouts grilled instead of fried) as well as a side of sausage. Overall the food was good. It took a long time to come out, despite not being very crowded (about 1hour and we only ordered just the one dish), so not sure what the deal was with that. This is a good place to come if you're just wanting to hang out, chat with friends, and have no place to be. They do have cocktails and other alcoholic beverages but we didn't try these this visit . Gluten free/celiac notes: the menu does have a few gluten free options, however many of them are fried in a shared fryer with gluten containing foods. If you are highly sensitive or have celiac I'd probably recommend avoiding these foods. There is really only one main dish which is gluten free, so not great variety for restrictive GF diets. read more

It was a busy Saturday, so I decided to order from Uber Eats and search for vegan options. I came across a promising restaurant that many of my vegan friends recommended. Although it was a hectic day, I placed an order, and I have to say it was simply wonderful. I had the vegan soul food plate, and my flexitarian friend thought it tasted like real meat. I loved the batter used to fry the mushrooms. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich which was 10/10 to me, basic, but so satisfying. I kinda have to have it every 6 weeks. I tend to avoid ordering stuff that wants to stand in for something else ("chick'n" vs chicken). With that disclosure, I'd say the "ham and cheese" sandwich is pretty good. The place has great decor, patio and general vibe. service on first and second encounters. My last visit was post-lunch (1:45) on a weekday. I placed my order to go, then sat for a really long time. I wasn't in a hurry, but did get up to ask after my order ("it's coming"). My modest order was ready 30+ minutes after order. At least 2 other customers waited on to-go orders for longer than I did. I'm really hoping I just happened to catch the kitchen on a bad day. I was genuinely shocked at how good it was. I got the hot honey shrooms waffle, and let me tell you, if someone put this in front of me and didn't tell me what it was, I would've assumed it was chicken! It was fried to perfection, not greasy at all, seasoned very well. The hot honey syrup was everything. And the best part was the waffle! It was soft and fluffy, but also had a nice cinnamon touch to it that wasn't even mentioned on the menu description. I had this dish about a week ago and I have not stopped talking about it since haha. They also had a great cocktail list! I got the G-Funk which was a (very) spicy fruity drink and I loved it. We stopped for brunch before heading to the airport. It was absolutely wonderful food! Everything was vegan and dairy free! All of the cheeses, butters, and sauces were all plant based. It was amazing! I'm allergic to dairy, and this was completely epic--I was able to order ANYTHING on the menu! They also had notations on gluten free and soy free on the menu. The Sweet Potato Hash was delectable and the Coltrane Croissant was amazing! We will definitely reorder those items. This place fills up fast so get there early! They do have a small parking lot with about 14 spaces that we were able to get into but there's also street parking. We also took a Ford Explorer and made it in and out.
