Tim was our fabulous mechanic who came to my house, saving us time and money from costly Ubers and not having to take off work to get to a shop within their open hours. Diagnosing the problem with my Volvo took two days and he was flexible and happy to keep working until it was solved. I cannot rave enough about this company! This company has amazing customer service and I'm a customer for life. Ben and Tim went above and beyond to accommodate my needs this week when the Jeep dealership did not want to help me at all and my car was still under warranty! A lot of frustration came when dealing with the dealership saying my battery was dead and they couldn't diagnose the other issues with my vehicle etc without me paying first. I called Mobile Auto Clinic to check the battery they installed 5 months prior to make sure it was dead. Tim met with the dealership on very short, same day notice to check the battery. Ben called and explained to me what was going on and informed me the dealership just needed to charge my battery to run the diagnostic and that the battery was discharge, not dead. He explained discharged means that the car was pulling so many volts from the battery when it is off that the battery doesn't have enough power to start the car. My car was showing signs of a severe electrical/mechanical issue. Same day, after work I arrived at the dealership at 5:20pm, Tim had left about 30 minute prior. The dealership pulled my car into the service station and the tech said "it has a lag before it starts but it works." That sound weird to me but I set in the car about 3 minutes after that, tried to turn the car on 5 times and it started after 6. Whattt??? They were just going to send me on my way knowing there was a severe mechanical or electronic issue with the car. The manager and tech were 3 feet away when I tried to start the car, and he told me that I needed a new battery again because the one Tim just said was discharge was dead. The dealership didn't even try to charge the battery after Tim left!! I didn't buy what the manager was saying and he suggested I buy a Mopar $500 labor/part battery and then he was going to charge me another $135 diagnostic fee! Crazy!!! The manager then told me that the floating ground wire had nothing to do with the issue and wasn't a big deal. So the manufacturer decided they had an extra wire hanging around the shop and they just stuck it some where in the engine and it was useless??? That doesn't make any sense at all. That's bad business practice and I was feed up. After a 10 minute rant with the manager of the service department I gave up because I was not getting anywhere and I became so frustrated I wanted to break down. I called Ben back and explained the situation to him and no questions asked he said "Let me get ahold of Tim." Tim drove all the way back to the dealership right before they closed and spent so much time looking under the hood, explaining to me what was wrong with parts of it and what needed to be done and then he fixed it. He pointed out to me a ground wire that was not attached to anything was the ground to several things in my car, like the radiator. This is the same wire the manager told me wasn't important. It is also the same wire I pointed out to Jeep months prior at a service visit (Mobile Auto Clinics back in September had pointed the same wire out to me when I had them replace the battery) and Jeep told me they fixed it. They didn't!!! Tim replaced the ground wire, pulled out a melted valve, charged the battery for an hour and the car worked fine. I was worried about the car working the next day and he assured me it would be okay and showed me the voltage I needed to look for and drove it around for a test drive. He also told me to text or call him the next day if I had any issues and he would meet me when and where I needed help. Now that is customer service. I started my car 4 times today and not one issue arose. Thanks to Mobile Auto Clinic I was able to have peace of mind in about 2 hours, when the dealership could not even run a diagnostic or give me a straight answer without me paying them in 2 days. Extremely impressed with this company! I texted them this morning at 7a and had an appointment set up by 7:20a. Darren showed up at 9a and had my car up and running by 10:15a. Car broke down Saturday night and while everyone else was closed on Sunday (besides some big box stores that in my experience always overcharge while under deliver) Ben was working overtime. We were driving our older model van from South Texas to McKinney,Tx over the 4th of July weekend and the van broke down south of Austin. My son's car stopped working unexpectedly and we were away from home. We thought it was the starter after the attempted jump failed, but weren't 100% sure. It was 4:30 on a Friday, and we were broken down in a parking lot near FM 2222 and FM 620. Our first thought was to call a tow truck, but then I thought "hey, what if I can save on a tow truck and find a mobile mechanic?". Is that even a thing? Yes. Yes it is!! The first company I called was busy so I had to request a call back. In the meantime I called a couple others. The second company never called back. The first company called back, they were very nice, but couldn't get there for 5 days. No thanks. The third Google search result was Mobile Auto Clinic so I called them next...thank God! Ashley is the wife and co-owner with her husband, one of the mechanics, and it seems as though she answers phones and coordinates the business. Since it was a Friday afternoon, she was at the bank, but answered my call and all of my questions. She said they could be there at 6:30 that same day! I asked her for a quote in case it really was the starter. Since she was at the bank she couldn't access her computer but said she would call back and also arranged the mechanic. She did call back and Michael, the mechanic, called 30 minutes earlier than expected. Unfortunately Michael was stuck in South Austin and we were currently located at 2222/620 ... better known as "Dante's 10th Circle of Traffic Hell". He just wasn't able to make it and I thought that was very understandable. I got the sense that if we were really in a bad situation he would have made it work. Luckily we had my car too so we were able to get home and there was no reason to keep Michael out that late. He said he could come at 9:00 the next morning, and that he would call when he got there. We had been at my hair salon, so we just left the keys and Michael left them with my stylist the next day. All of this happened as planned, the car was fixed within one hour, and he even offered to fix an oil leak that others had unsuccessfully tried to fix (outcome unknown at this time). Bottom line, the entire experience was quick, responsive, easy, and the prices were very fair. I am saving Mobile Auto Clinic's number in my phone and my son's phone, and I really feel like I will never need to worry about being stuck on the side of the road because I already have a great solution. During this cold snap in Austin, TX. my battery went out. No problem, simple fix, right. NOT. Turned out I have an AGM battery. Very expensive and labor intensive to install. Thanks to Darren from Mobile Auto Clinic for delivering great service! I had my brake pads, rotors, and sensors replaced and he'd asked me to stay to test drive the car afterwards. I didn't get his call afterwards and didn't do the test drive like he asked, but the few days later I noticed the brakes did not have as much stopping power. He came by the next day and bled the fluid from the brakes, and this resolved the issue and the stopping power is back. Thanks to Darren for fixing this at no extra charge to come back even though it was my fault I originally didn't do the test drive, and to Mobile Auto Clinic for a great experience! I'm the type of guy of who mistrusts mobile mechanics due to bad experiences with them in the past; I'm also the type of guy who likes to take on car projects himself. However, I was in a pinch and was stranded. That being said, I called a few mobile mechanics and Ashley (the intake person) was like a ray of light and assured me she'd try her best to send someone out - mind you this was close to 8pm, which is the end of their business hours. Lo and behold, Darren was able to come out and see the car. I was stressed, and everyone's bedside manner was incredible. Such positive and confident people. The ODB reader diagnosed a MAF problem, so Darren ran out and got some parts, came back, installed them, and the car still did not start. I had a flight out the next day, and Darren DROVE ME HOME at MIDNIGHT. Who does that?! People who care, and this business CARES. Darren came back the next morning, after being confident it was a fuel pump issue. He came back, replaced the fuel pump while I was at work, and boom, the car ran again. I wasn't able to really test his work until the next week, and let me tell you, he did a fantastic job. These people will not rob you, mistreat you, and leave you high and dry like most other mobile mechanics. Heck, they will treat you like family. Darren is an absolute asset to this company - he is more than a mechanic, he is a GREAT person. If you need ANY mechanic work, go with these guys - they're cheaper, faster, and more thorough than any other Brick and Mortar shop. I didn't have a plain Jane car problem, and he did not throw his hands up in the air and give up. He kept going - determined to fix the car. Ive been trying to get my car to pass inspection for months now. This saga has drawn me to make many unanswered calls and I could never get straight answers from the businesses that did answer. When I called the number to Auto Medic of Austin, it went to voice mail and I didnt leave a message, but 30 minutes later I got a call from the guy who runs it. He was on vacation. And although I was not even a paying customer of his, he took the time to help me go through all of the possible reasons my car was generating a certain error code and how I could fix it. During the call, I could hear people in the back ground having vacation-like fun and he never rushed me off of the phone. Nor did he even try to sell me on anything...he genuinely wanted to help! I have never experienced this kind of customer service from somebody who I was not even a customer of!! He was timely, honest, and hundreds of dollars cheaper than what I would have paid if I had my car towed and worked on at a shop. I'm certain it was faster too. I worked with auto medic a couple of weeks ago, they came out to fix the carburetor on our 1975 Toyota Landcruiser. I can say that they are committed to getting it right. When it was not performing as expected they came back out to troubleshoot on SUNDAY, worked until the evening to get it done. I was skeptical using a mobile mechanic but was pleasantly surprised. I called at 8 am, they were the only service that I called that answered on the first try, and they were at my house by 930am. Between getting to our house, leaving to get the parts and completing the work, it only took about an hour and a half. There is a $45 service fee which is well worth the convenience of not having to take (or tow) your car to a shop. The parts and labor you'll pay for wherever you take your car. My mechanic was Tim and he was very prompt, professional, friendly and did a great job even in the cold weather. Will definitely try this company again if I ever need it. read more

Ben, the owner of MAC, has been awesome with my fickle Saturn Sky Redline. His mechanics replaced a HPFP two years ago as well as replaced a tricky water pump recently. Car continued to read it was heating up even though Ben's computer read that is really wasn't. He came out and took over an hour to get all the bubbles out of the cooling system and it now runs like a charm. This guy doesn't stop until your car is fixed. Also had a shake in my Toyota that many mechanics said they couldn't figure out. Tim had me describe and knew immediately it was my engine mounts. Sure enough I ordered two and now there is no shaking. Another great feature of this company is they will work weekends AND they let you order your own parts. In fact they will tell you if you need to order OEM parts or if there is a reputable brand that will work just as well. Don't waste money at a dealership. spent a lot of money to get my car fixed. it runs again but poorly, also the check engine light came on before I even got home. this company has it set up to where once you sign the paperwork and drive off the property you assume all work was done to your liking. now I have a car I cant legally drive because it wont pass inspection and id have to pay even more if I were to bring it back in. I can not sing this companies praises enough. After calling so many places and being quoted at least $80 and no one being able to help till tomorrow, I stumbled upon Austin Auto Medics. While helping a friend rotate their tires, he busted a stud. After removing the old stud and hub, we needed to put everything back together After being told by at least 10 places that the job needed to be done with a special machine and no one had time till tomorrow, I spoke with Ben, whose response was "So you want me to tell you how to do it yourself?" He gave me very clear instructions and an hour later the job is done. Did I mention that I am a girl? This is the first time I have ever had a mechanic treat me like I am capable of more than making a sandwich. Typically I get treated like 'silly girl, thought she could use a wrench...' and then a long speech about how they do a bunch of cockameme things. It was wonderful that, While I have never having performed this kind of job on a car, Ben still understood I was capable and didn't try pulling one over in me. While I have not yet had the pleasure of joinging their customer base, I am confident that this is one of the few mechanics around that is honest, and isn't just looking to trick you out of as much money as possible. Ben could have charged me labor and a service fee, but it was far more valuable for them to build a returning customer base, than make a quick buck. read more

This business is as "good as it gets". They replaced the timing belt in my car in my parking lot under a canopy while it was raining and cold. The price tag for that service was less than half of all of the quotes I had gotten from garages. Incredible service!!! read more

Unprincipled business. Dishonest. They have the talent but not the virtue. They told me over the phone that it would cost $87 for them to come out and diagnose but this fee would be waived if I chose to have them fix the problem. This simply was not the case. My quote for the grand total included a $40 charge for coming out. When I brought the issue to the attention of the technician Tim, he brushed it off as a misunderstanding on the part of the person taking the call whom he later admitted was actually the owner. Further, he wanted to upcharge me for the part which was another $50 over market value (o'rielly up the road) and if i used my own part, they said they would not remedy the issue with the fee for coming out, saying, "but we wont make any money if we do...." If you cannot be principled and profitable, you should not be in business. To earn my customer loyalty I need to see much more Integrity. They have the talent, but not the virtues. I will be voting with my dollars for a different mobile mechanic than Mobile Auto Clinic in the future. read more

This company was going to way, way overcharge me for parts and labor. My car broke down and I had them come out for a diagnostic but when they gave me their estimate for the repair, a quick search online showed me that their costs were about $500-$600 above what I could get the job done for. So I ended up going with another mechanic (Ed, Austin ASE Mobile Mechanic, who I recommend). They also didn't even correctly diagnose the issue with my car even when I paid $160 for an "extended diagnostic". After their suggested repair was done by the other mechanic I hired, my car still wasnt running and the engine was doing exactly what it was doing in the first place. At the very least this company sent out another mechanic to re-do the extended diagnostic for free when it turned out that the first mechanic's diagnostic was not what was wrong with my car. The estimate for the second repair they think I need is also hundreds above what I could pay elsewhere with someone honest. Ok company overall I guess...they seem well organized with appointments, etc. But i would never hire them to actually work on my car because of the huge overcharge. Just as bad as one of the big chain shops! Be sure to check what the average cost for the repair you need is before just paying them to do the work. They came out quick and fixed my vehicle in no time, tried to replace the terminal myself and could not get a couple of corroded bolts off. They had the right tools to do it after the detailed description i gave them to be sure they would know EXACTLY what they would have to do. They guy was extremely nice and was right on the dot when it came to the quoted price. I usually do my own vehicle repairs and from one car guy to another these guys are good to handle your vehicle. They have a lot of positive reviews but for some reason Yelp is not sufficient enough in posting these reviews because no one handed it to them in a weaved basket with a detailed list of instructions on how to post it on their "supreme review website". I will be using Auto Medic again to replace the master slave cylinder in my clutch and would recommend them to anyone. I found them by searching Google on my mobile device and they showed up on the front pages, and if I know anything by working with a company thats partnered with google is that only credible and companies who do the best work locally get onto the first pages of google much less at the very top! read more
