Overall felt like this was an okay experience. I needed a brake job which other mechanics were quoting me almost $800 to fix. He responded very quickly to my inquiries and set up an appointment two days later. Day of, he did show up about an hour late which was a bit inconvenient, but he was friendly and did the job quickly. Ended up paying $250 out the door to replace pads and one rotor. About five days later I was driving on the 405 when I heard a large clank sound. Right after when I tried to brake the car would shake and there was a lot of grinding. I pulled over and after getting AAA out there I found out a screw had come off my right tire caliper. Ended up having to get towed to the nearest mechanic. At that point I was almost 40 mins out from the South Bay and the new mechanic didn't charge me to fix it so I contacted Dave a couple days after. This is where I started to get frustrated with Dave. After texting him what happened, his response was very short, he didn't apologize for what had happened. After calling him he did not take responsibility for the screw coming off, saying anything could have caused it to come off. I really felt like he was not taking responsibility for the screw coming off which I understand his reasoning but he acted like it was no big deal that a screw came off the caliper on the tire he had worked on just a few days ago. It was a screw. On my brake. That he had worked on. I could have gotten into an accident because of this. Overall this incident took two hours out of my day. I was thankful I was still in LA County, as I was about to drive to Northern California and it would have been a more scary ordeal if I was further in my trip. I initially asked him to refund all the work he did on the right tire. Ended up agreeing to refund just the labor portion which was $30. In the end I still feel like I could have had better customer service. I personally won't be using him again. As nice as he is and his prices are very fair, it just doesn't make me feel safe for him to work on my car in the future. read more
