These guys were great. I brought my truck there to have a a RetraxPro Xr tonneau cover installed. And I'm super happy that I did. Not only did they do an excellent job in a timely manner but they discovered a challenge around the seals that came with cover (manufacturing mistake) and was able to talk directly to retrax (in minutes) regarding the issue as well as solve it on the spot such that I was still in and out in less than 2 hours. Bought a topper and rack-it ladder rack. Was promised a quick install and had to schedule out 3 weeks to get it, didn't get it, got the run around and a pack of lies, promised 2 hour install turned into 7 then when I went out to look at the truck they had a rack installed that was made for a tall topper, stands 16: above the cab. They started off blaming it on rack-it, that that was the size they made them now because of a vibration with the wind when driving, then tried blaming it on me. There is a gift of gab salesman and a bully running the front counter, Scratching on both sides of the topper too from squeezing it into the rack. Bad cut-outs on the topper to fit the rack. Dissapointed, best showroom and selection in bay area but I will never shop there again. read more

I have been a very satisfied customer of Mobile Living for 15 yrs. I've purchased numerous racks and accessories for an 08 Dod Ram 4x4. Two yrs ago I had to replace 2 vertical frt end type stabilizer bars. Two reputable tire and wheel companies could not locate anything similar due to the 6" Lift Kit being 13 yrs old. Ray, Owner/Mngr, sent me to Jim. Jim perused on line for 2 min and located what I needed. Parts were installed a few days later in rear driveway in a few minutes and no charge for labor. I've been looking for a local 4WD shop to complete the mods on my Jeep Rubicon. This shop was recommended to me by the parts guy at Walnut Creek Jeep dealership so I decided to give it a try. I figured I'd start small and see how it goes. Last month I visited the shop at lunch and met Scott and a few others. The staff was helpful & informative but the parking is definitely a challenge. I actually park next door if I'm not having work done. Scott managed to get me an Amazon price match on the Smittybilt X20 which I was very grateful for. There was a minor hiccup on the install but once corrected I gave the winch a good field test that week. Unfortunately I came to the conclusion that the Smittybilt was not a quality winch that I could rely on in a tough situation. Scott really wanted me to be happy with the winch and convinced me to replace the Smitty with the highly rated Warn Zeon 10s and he got me a stellar price too! I returned the following week for the part swap. I even got a ride to and from a local mall to keep myself entertained during the install. This was a really nice touch and the fellow driving me was super nice...as were all the guys in the shop. The install was quick and before you knew it I was back for the inspection and test. Returned email and phone call promptly. I shopped around first and found that their prices way beat the other places I checked. I got the hitch, Thule 4 bike rack, woman's bike adapter, hitch lock, and labor for $595. See picture. A place in Lafayette wanted $470 just to install the hitch. The bike rack was $40 less than the nearest competitor. Adapter $25, lock $35. They ordered everything and had it in stock in 3 days. Took exactly 1.5 hours to install like they promised. Comfortable waiting room with two couches, water, snack machine, TV, and internet so I could work while I waited. Busy place, and I can see why. Others have said it before but it bears repeating; a true measure of a business comes when something goes wrong. I ordered a hitch and wiring kit for my '17 Outback from Mobile Living. The parts eventually arrive and about 10 days later I dropped the car off for the installation. Aaaand they were the wrong parts! Looking at another 2-3 week delay for delivery and installation. This is when the staff at Mobile Living stepped up and made it all good. Somehow they came up with the correct parts from somewhere, and then managed to slide my car back into their shop. A few hours later I can drive away with the correct hitch neatly installed. No long faces...no sullen looks...just genuine apologies and overall good cheer. Would I go back to these guys again? I keep forgetting to review Mobile Living as every interaction with them is so easy, I just don't think about it much. They have helped us with a bumper pull hitch and a metal sliding tonneau cover. Great products. Fair price. Easy installation. We just bought a 5th wheel and although we had a gooseneck hitch, we needed to seriously think about what we were going to tow with and our future with the truck. Although this is a bit of a stereotype, as a woman I generally expect to have a rough go when shopping and sorting this kind of automotive purchase out. I ask a lot of questions and do a ton of research. Towing is a serious business... and it can be dangerous if you don't match your weights and tow apparatus correctly. 5th wheel hitches, gooseneck compatibility, rails, underbed, etc., this was all a new language, and many salespeople don't always want to do the education part of the sale. I had the pleasure of dealing with Fernando on the phone. What a fantastic, patient, and all around great salesperson. This shop is crazy busy. I probably talked to him three times the same day before I settled on what I wanted. He suggested something for our situation that I had no idea existed and it ended up being just the right thing to work with a specialized pin box and our bed length. Mobile Living has never let me down in terms of price, knowledge, patience, kindness, and transparency in our purchases. I can not recommend them highly enough for both the sales and installation of what you may need. Once caveat... they are busy, so this is not a quick in and out if you need to get an install done. You will not come in today and have your rig worked on tomorrow. Get to know them. Make an appointment, and manage your expectations of when you need something. It's totally worth it. read more

Tuesday December 5 I call and make an appointment to have trailer axle service (have bad brakes). The lady takes my appointment for Dec 12 and says the trailer expert Fernando will call me by weeks end to get trailer specs. He never called me that week. So I call the following Monday day before the appointment. Again the lady on the phone gets my number down says Fernando should call me in a few minutes. She hangs up and says looks forward to seeing me the next day on my scheduled time. Day of my appointment at 9:30am I call them and tell them I should be there in a hour to drop off the trailer. This is a 20 foot long trailer and I know parking there is a pain as is. The lady answers and says she will have the guys make room for me. I also mention it to her that Fernando never called me yet. Shes surprised and says give her a few minutes he will call you. Fast forward to December 24, 2017 at 2:54pm he still hasn't called me! IDK what the purpose of them making this appointment with me. I learned from dealing with this shop in the past they like to have equipment just sit around until they get to it. So having an appointment really doesn't make sense. I was not going to have a trailer that's a key part of my business to just sit in there parking lot untouched. For the future I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Please read this whole post. Called Monday morning at 9am after early morning drop off my 2009 Subaru Outback to have hitch and wiring harness installed. Was told car would be ready at noon. At 3pm, arrive to be told they have been trying to reach me since 11:30am. They show me the intake order that clearly says 2009 Outback and yet somehow for some reason they can't explain they ordered parts for a 2010 Outback that do not fit my car. Now the correct parts will arrive too late for me to pick up the camper trailer I am renting Wednesday. No mention of expediting things so that I can use my Subaru to tow the trailer. Now I am compelled to rent a truck at considerable additional expense. There is such a thing as overnight delivery, is there not? This place came highly recommended. You will have to offer me a really good deal if you expect me to return in the future. Update: I am changing my rating to "Yay! Four-star" because today (Tuesday) I got a call from Fernando, who took ownership of the mistake and offered to pay for my rental truck. That's how you win back a dissatisfied customer. read more

I've been here multiple times now. My first time doesn't really count though because I drove around for about five minutes looking for a place to park. When nothing opened up, I just went home. The second time, I actually parked and went in. John (I think that's his name) waited on me and was great. He has a very kind and gentle vibe about him. I explained that this was my first truck and I didn't know anything. He explained all of my different options in a way I could understand without ever talking down to me. I ordered several things and set up my appointment for the install. My third time was just dropping the truck off for its liner and cover. They did an excellent job installing and everything was great. I was there again today for running boards. I didn't have a ride back home, so had to wait in their comfortable waiting room. I realized during my wait that Mobile Living is either packed and the phones are ringing off the hook, or it's completely silent with the parking lot empty. There was no in between. It was kind of bizarre. Anyway, I think Cliff is the main dude now. He's like the energizer bunny. John seems to be the main person in charge of sales while Cliff runs back and forth and does everything. I believe they might overbook at times, but they're really nice people and they do good work.
