Came in for a "snack" after a long day at Olympic NP but we ended up getting pretty stuffed. The two of us shared the crab roll with fries and a bowl of chowder. We were genuinely surprised with both items. The chowder was tasty, very creamy and thick; it didn't have that clammy taste either. My boyfriend was sad that they ran out of whole Dungeness crab but the crab roll was a good substitute. I read some of the bad reviews and was confused since the host and waitress were pretty attentive. It was a Monday night so it was just those 2 workers. Not very bad, not very good. Most vacationers have a limited number of meals they can enjoy while on vacation. Don't waste one of your meals here. I probably should have known better. We were one of four parties on a Saturday...but my thought was that it was about two o'clock, probably not prime time dining hours even during tourist season. The crab dip appetizer was disappointing. The menu did not provide a description...I was expecting something creamy with chunks of crab meat in there. What I got was a block of melted cheese with the grease separating on top, and strands of crab meat. The whole thing congealed after just a few minutes on the table. I follow this with a cup of clam chowder, which was mostly milk thickened with a little too much flour. There were few chunks of potato and even fewer clams. I didn't find any bacon at all. Nor did I detect much flavor. They could have redeemed themselves with the crab roll. I was hoping for something like chunks of crab meat with mayo and maybe some onion or celery. Instead, I got more of the stringy crab meat with very little sauce. I expected a lot more for $26. I've included pictures to show the photos on the menu versus what they served us. Two crab rolls, one crab dip, and one cup of clam chowder with water to drink cost us $86. Adding a tip, and the total came to $106. I think it was the single most disappointing meal I've ever had for over a hundred bucks. read more

We then said our reservation was at 9pm and its 906pm, we also called a few minutes ago to let you know so incredibly rude. The food here is a mixed bag. The Moby Duck fritters (geoduck fritters) were really tasty. The steamer clams were just okay. The clams had an odd slightly bitter taste and didn't look very fresh. I ordered the raw oysters, and this was a mistake. The oysters didn't look or taste very fresh, and whoever opened the oysters clearly didn't know how to shuck oysters. As a result, they didn't run the knife under the oyster to separate it from the adductor muscle, so the oysters were still attached to the shell and the oysters were also full of broken shell pieces making it a difficult and unpleasant experience trying to eat them. You would think that a seafood restaurant would have fresh oysters and know how to shuck them. Outside of the food, the restaurant was very plain and austere and the service was to-the-point and efficient. One weird thing is that it took a while for the food to come out despite being the first customer there, and when it did come out, it all came out at the same time instead of it being paced with the oysters coming out first. To start, I have no idea how the food is because we never got to try it. We made an online reservation through their site on Wednesday June 25th for the following evening. We even got a reminder text the next morning. Well, we get there about 5 minutes before the reserved time on the 26th only to find the restaurant closed, a note on the door saying they were "out fishing". Luckily we were early enough we were able to pivot over to Kokopeli's and got in fairly easily. I have no problem with a business closing for whatever reason. Stuff happens. Im fed up already , I find the place to be mentally molestive. When i walk past this place it stinks like fish surgery. It has me scared for summer. Also the twin owners, jimmy and timmy walked past me in the ally the other day and i was actually scared of getting kidnapped for a sec, i was genuinely stress sweating pretty bad, but as they got closer i realized they were about shoulder height on me. This whole building is a gross misuse of freewill. Maybe this "Mobey Cuck" thing is another one of the twin's sick and twisted pranks. well im done laughing, someone call the game warden or that 4 pa group to clean up the awful clammy smell. , and give the twinz a good spray down for the way they treat the kitchen staff. I had the three count Moby Duck fritters ($13), cup of clam chowder ($9), and Dungeness crab melt (comes with fries - $28) for my first time at Moby Duck. There's a lot on their menu that was unavailable, but hopefully as they're open for longer, they'll have more steady supplies. The clam fritters were deep fried, not pan fried, and didn't taste anything like the traditional clam fritters I had been looking forward to. They were still good, but the sauce kind of overpowered them. The clam chowder was kind of thin and average tasting. It certainly wasn't bad, but not something I'd pay $9 a cup for again. It is gluten-free, so if that's something you're looking for, this clam chowder is for you. The fries don't look like much, but they are sublime! They didn't have any type of dipping sauce, but the waitress offered me a side of mayo to make my own. I'm a dipping sauce fanatic, but the fries were so good, I had some without any dipping sauce. The Dungeness crab melt was the star of the show! It was flavorful without overpowering the crab. I'm delighted to find a crab melt that has that perfect balance. Free parking with our Red Lion parking pass (shared parking lot with Moby, Kokopelli, Hook&Line Pub = nice parking perk). Anyway, great discovery - great time at MD, nice people, GREAT CHOWDER (thinker than most and super delicious), tasty Oysters Rockefeller (a rarity where we come from), and Steamer Clams in broth WA is famous for (with buttery garlic bread you dream of). We went to try this new seafood restaurant yesterday, and we have a mixed review. First, they are a little unorganized, but I suspect that will change with time. The space is extremely loud, more like a sports bar than an upscale restaurant. We planned on having the crab Mac and cheese, trying the chowder, and having crab cakes. However, upon our arrival, before 6pm, the crab cakes were sold out. Additionally, the smoked salmon was sold out, which really limited the choices. These are also things I expect to get better as they are figuring things out. We were able to try the Mac and cheese as well as the chowder, and the petite filet with shrimp and scallops. The Mac and cheese was outstanding, but very pricey. The chowder had good flavor, but it had a lot of potato skins and very few clams. The filet came out with three scallops and no shrimp. They were probably out of them, but there was no compensation either with extra scallops or a lower price. There wasn't even acknowledgement that what they served was different from what we ordered. So that made the dinner also overpriced for what we got. That being said, the steak and scallops we dos get were cooked perfectly, which doesn't happen often. Overall, the food was good, even with the price tag, the ambience could be improved, unless they are trying for a sports bar feel, and a lot of the other things should improve with time. I hope. We will give them another shot, and if there isn't improvement, I will probably revise my review at that point. read more

Came in for lunch... oyster shooter w vodka. Umm yes to that and was tasty. A pound of Steamers, a garlicky salty brine that was so good I added an additional order of garlic bread for dunking. The PNW chowders is a must! Geoduck clams, crab, and lightly smoked salmon is a combination that rocks. Was worried the smoked salmon would overpower, it did not... was yummy. Our server for lunch was awesome with great recommendations. Came back for dinner when we didn't make the ferry for some fish and chips and whisky. They did a great version of a standby.
