Finally tried this spot today and I'm so glad I did! My litmus test for any new-to-me coffee place is an iced vanilla latte (with oat milk). This place was great!! The vanilla and espresso flavors were on point and the texture was nice and creamy, not watery. The looks are deceptive- there are so many little rooms with seating throughout and games and puzzles! This would be a great place to catch up with a friend, hang out with a puzzle, or get some work done. Baristas were super kind and I'm happy I popped by! read more

I'm fairly new to the Moby's scene, but I've been an occasional customer since they were at their former location. Their new location is definitely an upgrade with the space. It does feel like some strange fast food play place, but for adults who want to sit and drink coffee. In its former life, the space might've been some medical office, with its vertical stretch of rooms as a general floor plan. It is very easy to find a table and get to some work in this new chapter of Moby's. Not that you can't do that anywhere else. But there still is a risk of hitting critical mass since most places are usually small to mid-sized. And it might be too hot outside if you have to pivot to the patio - if there is one. But with Moby's different themed rooms, and their outside space, which they do possess now, that concern isn't really going to be front of mind - like it is with other coffee shop locales. So they get a big plus in the accommodations category. What's more, it seems management has really stepped up for the creative community, scheduling various open mics and crafting events in the store. On the food and drinks side, it seems Moby's has always been dedicated to sustainability, locally-sourced ingredients and providing the alternative ingredients that most on the dietary spectrum would appreciate. That being said, not everything is available all the time. If you're trying to be local and sustainable with your business, you might not be able to grab the same ingredients every time. Haha, and just my luck, everything I like has not been available for every visit. But the staff has been good about recommending close alternatives and I've mostly enjoyed the substitutes. read more

Came here for an X-Men event. Loved the vibes and games available. Found parking relatively easily. The drinks are made to order and very good. Got a blueberry matcha and a blended sweet tea and it was so good. It may take a little bit for the drinks to be made but they are good and worth the wait. read more

The staff was also very helpful for my first time explaining the specialty drinks they had and all their various options. I tried just a regular Mocha and a Blueberry muffin. This is becoming one of my favorite places to come to for a study session. Parking in the neighborhood is easy, the ladies working the front are nice and the prices are always right. I think I came here over 10 years ago at their old spot and this new one is great. They have ample seating and it's quiet enough to get work done. Only ever ordered coffees here. Friendly local vibe . Very kitschy inside think overstuffed arm chairs, warm cozy lighting , Christmas tree in the back room. Nice spot for working chatting with friends or catching up. Coffee is solid, lots of tea options as well. I didn't feel very welcomed. The woman at the counter seemed either to be having a bad day or just not in the mood, and I couldn't tell which. I came in hoping to try a new coffee spot, something other than Starbucks, but I was met with a bit of an off-putting vibe. I usually get iced Americanos, so I asked about the price for a small, and it was a reasonable amount. When I asked about the price for a medium, though, she seemed frustrated, even though the place wasn't busy at all. I ended up ordering the medium, and while the service was quick, the drink itself was disappointing. I always get my Americano black, so I specifically asked for it that way, but when it arrived, it didn't look black at all. It also had an odd taste. I saw her make it, so I know she didn't add anything to it, but maybe the beans were off. Overall, it just wasn't a great experience, and I'll be crossing this place off my list. read more

Updated review for new location: While I'm still a fan of the great staff and great menu offerings, sadly I am NOT A FAN OF THE NEW SPACE. The layout is claustrophobic and the interior/decor is triggering for neurodiverse people. The color scheme clashes from room to room. I was really hoping the back patio would remain accessible. The floor mural is great but please consider repainting and perhaps opening up some walls with windows or breeze blocks. Also adding furniture out front or out back with umbrellas. My intent in giving this feedback is not entirely change the vibe you are going for, rather to make it more inviting. read more

So I have to start by saying that I loved the original Moby's and was super excited to go and support the new location... and here are my honest thoughts: The new place is cute... but doesn't have the original's charm. Coffee is still good! But oh man... the prices. I understand that this is a "mom and pop shop", but I this economy, people are looking to get value for price and this is not it. For comparison, my typical Starbucks order (for 2) is: 2 venti vanilla ice cold brews and 2 breakfast sandwiches and that comes out to around $25 (already overpriced) BUT HERE! We got 2 16 oz ice coffees and 2 muffins, not even sandwiches, and our order was $30!!! If we would've done sandwiches, we were looking at damn near $35-$40 This simply does not make sense to me. I get that expenses are high right now, but charging more than other local shops, while giving less, seems to be a really bad strategy. read more

Every neighborhood deserves a delightful, local coffee shop...one that embodies the spirit of the neighborhood it belongs to. Delightful isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of North Hollywood, but it has its moments. One street you're in a nice neighborhood, the next you're surrounded by factories, and then the next you're surrounded by mini malls, a 7-11, and laundromats. Moby's just happens to be in the middle of those things. It's nestled between a dog salon and a weed shop so you might never know it was there, but when you do find it, you'll be rewarded with some of the best drinks around. Not sure where they source their coffee from, but it's good...not too bitter and/or burnt and not too acidic. It's strong enough that you taste the coffee, but not too strong that it drowns out any of the flavors you want in your drink. I've ordered a lavender latte and you taste the lavender...you taste the oat milk...you taste the coffee. The different notes are there, but played together, it strikes a delicious chord. If coffee isn't your game, they have a wonderful selection of teas as well. The smell of the teas steeping while you wait, with the whirr of an espresso machine, amid the hustle and bustle of a busy coffee shop counter are the sights and sounds you should experience while surrounded by your neighbors from the community. They also have a wonderful collection of pastries and baked goods to choose from. Croissants, muffins, scones and bagel sandwiches, the latter is made to order from their kitchen. The bagels aren't exactly New York style, but they really do hit the spot in the morning with your cup of coffee. The aesthetics of Moby's screams first apartment vibes. That's not a knock on them, it's actually a familiar and welcoming vibe. The mismatched furniture, unique art pieces on the wall, the faux brick...along with the wonderful people behind the counter and the patrons enjoying their drinks, it feels like the classroom where misfits had lunch back in high school...where a spectrum of people, from nerds to drama kids, can just be. If you ever find yourself in the weirdness that is North Hollywood and want to support a wonderful, local business, give Moby's a shot. read more

Moby's is located in a small parking lot, but their space is as tight as their parking. Walking inside, you're welcomed by a variety of products form local small businesses, a comfy lounge area to work / relax, and aesthetic A-frames and menus. Music is audible, though not loud. A staff member soon takes your order, and it's made quite literally on the spot! I ordered my usual iced latte, and these were some tasty beans! They were on the sweeter end with not a hint of bitter of burnt. The milk made the drink extra smooth. My favorite part was that there was free Wi-Fi, making this the perfect location to either have a short break from work, meetup with friends, or even a quick stop to get work done. read more

You know, I really want to like this place. It's our neighborhood spot. We used to go to the old location and they were friendly enough that we would keep going. I like the coffee and the space was artsy. We've been going to the new location occasionally, even when they were serving out of the back parking lot during construction. I have to say though, it just doesn't feel like a very welcoming vibe. Every time I go, I get the impression the staff feels like they're doing me a favor. And service continues to take FOREVER. I ordered with blank faced employee who seemed like they didn't want to be there. Prices seem fair, considering the times we live in, but $25 for a coffee, juice and 2 pastries reminds me of why I don't go more often. Anyway, we got our drinks and stepped aside to wait for my coffee. They didn't seems busy at all. After a few minutes, I noticed that my cup was in a line with about 5 cups in front of it. There was 1 person making all the drinks, coffee, smoothies, etc. The employee who took my order was just standing there talking to the person making all the drinks. Maybe step in and help? Run the blender or something? So we decided to go sit and start eating. Mine was kind of stale, but tasted good. I've always enjoyed the pastries at Mobys. After another 5 minutes, I went back up front to get my coffee and it still isn't ready. Now there are TWO employees just standing there, talking to the person making all the drinks, and now there are 4 other people standing in the small ordering area waiting for their drinks. So I'm just waiting and finally I see what I think is my coffee. I go to get it and another lady steps in front of me and grabs it. I was pretty sure I was there first, but then we had to compare orders to see who it belonged to. Maybe take a note from every other coffee place and put names with the orders? As for the space, it feels a little disjointed, especially considering how long they were closed for remodel. If I was going to work on a computer, it would be fine. There are several different rooms. None of them really make me want to just hang out and have coffee. It looks like they have a lot of local events there, so that's nice. I have been going to a different coffee shop almost every day within a 10 mile radius from my house in the last few weeks. Today I stopped by at Moby's. The cafe is a bit dated,has indoor seating and parking right in front. I got their house iced coffee which I wasn't a big fan of. It was too watery and I couldn't taste the coffee. I asked for milk but no sweetener. I honestly didn't taste the coffee. I'll probably try something else next time like a latte or cappuccino then update my review. If you want to support a local coffee shop that builds and gives back to the community it serves, this is the place. When I visited, they were hosting a "buy nothing" clothing swap via the LA Fixit Clinic, a couple of community orgs, and a Pups Without Borders adoption event. They have a huge assortment of tea, and my iced Earl grey was magical. They asked how I wanted it sweetened, and when I responded with, "simple syrup," they didn't bat an eye! If you want your baristas to really know drinks, this is the place for you! Parking is a little tricky, but you can park in the neighborhood easily. Dog friendly!! read more

Just wanted to order something different from a different place than I usually do. Ordered the sage and cheddar croissant. It came cold, which doesn't make sense since the shop is down the street from me and the dasher was here in less than 5 mins, but it was still good. I also ordered the pumpkin spice latte, which I've had before from other places in Burbank but isn't my usual. Just wanted something sweet and different. And it was not good at all, tasted extremely sour and old like it had been sitting out for a long time. This little coffee shop is hidden away in a small strip mall, but don't let the location fool you. I ordered their caramel latte and chocolate croissant. The latte was delicious - just the right amount of caramel to espresso and milk ratio. The chocolate croissant was mouthwatering - so flaky yet soft, with the perfect amount of chocolate. The shop itself has a vintage vibe to it. I usually grab a spot at one of their sofas and cozy up with a good book. The baristas are such lovely people that are great at what they do. Moby's is a no frills neighborhood coffee shop with a nice selection of pastries and all your caffeinated favorites. If you are in the area, this is a great independent shop to support. There is lots of seating inside and it's nice and roomy. It feels a little cluttered inside because every corner is packed with something different; a bin for free items from their lost and found, a corner for books. a corner of plants for sale, a corner for coffee accessories for sale. It's a little all over the place, but it gives off a big community vibe. There isn't an overall aesthetic here. The furniture is mismatched and there are handwritten notes everywhere . It feels very DIY. It's not your cutesy instragrammable coffee shop, but it has its own charm. I thought the coffee was OK. Service definitely lacked a little warmth and friendliness. It was packed with what I assume were regulars so you can see this place is well loved by locals. I'm glad I stopped by to check it out because I had only ever been to the Lake Balboa location. This shop is right next to my favorite nursery in the SFV so if I am in the area, I would stop by again for a drink on the go. read more

I was really excited to try this place but it just didn't quite do it for me. Came by Monday and it was fairly slow with a few people sitting at tables. I was greeted by two of the nicest workers, one cashier and one barista. They were friendly and helpful with any questions about drinks and pastries. I ordered a dark mocha, chorizo-cheddar croissant, and a maple scone. They were nice enough to heat up the scone and had actual plates for them since I was dining in. A few moments later my drink arrived. The mocha was okay, it wasn't overly sweet and since it was with dark chocolate it had a richer but bitter taste which is a good thing! Sadly half way through the drink became very muddy and grainy, either too much chocolate was used, or it wasn't mixed well at first since I kept mixing it while drinking to make sure the syrup went throughout the drink. The croissant was so good, flaky and buttery croissant with mild chorizo and cheesiness throughout. The scone on the other hand was so dry and pretty bland, if it wasn't for the maple glaze I would think it was just a plain scone with walnuts. This isn't a bad spot but I didn't have an experience that would make me return. read more

I went here to meet a friend last week, and I took my two year old son. Although they didn't have a high chair, the staff there were so friendly and engaging with my son that I would go back (with a booster seat). The atmosphere is very chill and welcoming, the almond croissant was delicious. And they had more sugar free syrups than just vanilla! Please let me know if you get high chairs, but I'll be back either way! read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered an iced Coconut Latte and an iced Caramel Latte. The service was as expected. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Barista took our order and gave us suggestions. The ambience was very homey. It seems as though they turn the café into some sort of stage. Maybe for an open mic night? The furniture is very well used, they are selling an old espresso machine. Could definitely be cleaner indoors. Aside from the shop, their coffee is very good. It tastes great, and has a very smooth texture. Not too sure why the coconut whip cream was blue, but that was cool. There are so many coffee shops in the area, I don't think I will be coming back. Very nice and cute coffee spot with endless selection of tea and coffee. A little hidden local neighborhood hangout here in NoHo. They offer free wifi and seems like a delightful & fairly quiet place to get some work done. My barista Phoebe, knew exactly which type of drink i was looking for and crafted my coffee to my liking. So far i really like their iced hazelnut latte. I get mine with whole milk but they offer plenty milk alternatives such as soy, almond, macadamia (which i heard was really good), coconut, and hemp. They have a wide variety of selections to choose from so don't be shy to ask baristas for recommendations. They also have food and pastries here i've yet to try but definitely will soon. read more
