If you haven't been here yet you are missing out! Greek-owned and operated, they offer authentic hot and iced Greek coffee (I recommend the frappe or the freddo cappuccino). Also, all the desserts are made from scratch. They only place in Charlotte you can find Greek pastries such as Ekmek Kataifi, Mille Fueille (Greek Napoleon), Cornedakia, Kokkakia, and the usual suspects baklava, kourambiedes and melomakarona. They even have some French & Italian desserts as well. Another day, another coffee shop with hubs. Except this time was an emergency because there was no coffee in the house! So off to Mocco we went. Hubs had been here before for lunch and wasn't too impressed, but going for coffee and some Greek pastries is a completely different story. They have a great selection of Greek inspired pastries, and the ham and cheese pie is amazing. They have coffee beverages, hot chocolate, and alcoholic beverages for later in the day. The location is really easy to find, right off of south boulevard and the inside is really nice. There's a couple comfy couches, bar seating and tables and chairs. We hung out for a bit feeling really chill. There was also a group of people speaking Greek which was a really cool bonus. The woman that waited on us was super sweet and even made me simple syrup for my iced coffee on the spot. We will definitely be back when we're in the area! read more

I'm from out of town and stopped in because I had a few meetings and found this place on Yelp. It was worth all the stars. First Meeting: I had a caramel latte, told them to make it sweet AND THEY MADE IT PERFECTLY. My boyfriend had the organic cheesecake and a beer. Since I was here for meetings, I popped back in for my afternoon one and had the cheese pizza (which was amazingly cheesy) and a sparkling wine. I love venturing out to new places! I mean coffee is life! So why not check it out... I love the atmosphere and the fact that their menu choices are very different and unique. The caramel latte over ice was really good and they top it with a little cinnamon and whipped cream! Heaven in my mouth! They also offer free wifi and free Moroccan cookies. They have outside furniture so it's definitely a must I come during summer. The service was great and they offered some great recommendations. You should surely check it out. read more

Summary: Decent coffee and ok bakery selection. Nice place if you're craving Greek sweets. Long version: Went here to try a new bakery and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a Greek bakery. Me and my wife went to Greece for our honeymoon so it was nice to find this place. The Fredo coffee was good, not quite as great as over there but pretty close. We didn't get anything from the bakery while there but the selection of Greek pastries was fair but nothing exceptional. I would recommend this place if you haven't had any Greek style coffee or dessert but if you are hoping for something you experienced in Greece you may leave wanting a little more. read more

Awkward location - squeezed between a 4-wheeler auto shop and a printer on South Blvd. BUT once you get over the location and parking (those giant jeeps do look a little intimidating), you find yourself in an urban oasis of Greek pastry/coffee goodness. I had the frappe ($3 for small) and a slice of galaktoboureko (ya, I'm afraid to even pronounce that out loud). I shared the sizable piece of sweetness with my Greek coworker and we may have became best friends. I used to only get that once a year at Greek Fest, and now I don't have to wait a year! They offer daily special - on my day of visit, it was buy a dessert and get a free cup of brew. For less than $8 I had 2 coffees and a homemade sweet treat, not too shabby. read more

If you are going here for coffee, please do not. There is no compassion for the craft or excitement around what is offered. The person working told me they were hung over, as if that makes it acceptable for me to have dead shots in my cappuccino or that my partner's order was totally wrong as well as the bar being a TOTAL mess. We just accepted it as it was and decided that we would never go back. What a disappointing experience. The phyllo dough on the pastry was so dry it made a foot radius mess around me and the coffee obviously microwaved from an old batch, so bad I had to throw it away. While on vacation in Charlotte, my family and I were in search for a local coffeeshop. We came upon this one and we are so glad we did! Our first visit we were greeted by the owner, Denise, and she was very friendly, warm, and welcoming. My parents and I came back every day we were in town, and always ordered either Americanos or plain brewed coffees. Both were exceptional, which seems to be rare in coffeeshops! And the European desserts... yum!!! All homemade from scratch with quality ingredients, and beautiful too. Our last night here we ordered a Napolean (which was HUGE), a tiramisu, and a strawberry chocolate mousse cake. My favorite was the tiramisu, but they were all divine. I rode by this place and decided to double back. This is a great coffee place off the beaten path. I was able to get some work done there. They do have a small selection of 'real' food figure interested. The dessert selection is amazing. I will be back for the Oreo mousse or Strawberry cheesecake. They are premade and served in cups. Love this place. Excellent Espresso Freddo - I felt like I was drinking a cup of coffee in Greece! The best coffee shop I've been to in Charlotte in a long time. I couldn't make my mind up on the desserts, so I ordered one of everything and took them home. All of the desserts were delicious - from the Chocolate Eclair with the melted Dark Chocolate on top (that was my husband's favorite), to the Ek Mek (spelling? - which was my favorite), to the Galaktobouriko. Unexpected location, but Mocco impressed! We were searching for a local coffee shop on a Sunday morning and Mocco delivered just the experience we were hoping for. It's a cozy space, with some couches on one wall for relaxing and tables in the middle for working or eating. The whole place is scented with fresh baked goods, and there was an impressive variety of pastries, beverages (beer too!), and coffee drinks. Awesome pastries made from scratch! Had the Napoleon and I've never had one as good, not even in NYC. I usually don't ever get one b/c its too sweet, too soggy, whatever. Mocco's is DIVINE. Somebody there is gifted at making phyllo and puff pastry. When I asked, I was told it was the storeowner's mother, who actually spoke with us when we first entered. She doesn't speak much English, but she doesn't need too, either. Her pastries speak for her - eloquently. Their cheese pie was also great; buttery flaky crust, tons of feta and no greasy mess. Decor is warm, clean and a tad Spartan, but there are tables/chairs and sofas, so very inviting. Free WiFi seals the deal. Worth a trip EVERY freaking day. read more
