I tasted a piece from her and I was hooooooooked!!!!!! Every time I went here to get it(Kouign-amann), it was sold out!!!!!!! It is buttery and sweet and delightful!!!!! They have other great delights here but my focus is this particular pastry!!!!! This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

This place has become more of an internet café than a coffee shop. People rush in early in the morning, claim tables and chairs with their laptops, and stay for hours. As a result, there's often no seating left for actual customers who simply want to enjoy a coffee, meet a friend, or spend a little time in the space. What makes it even more frustrating is that some people working on their laptops visibly show annoyance when others are talking nearby, rolling their eyes, sighing, and making "huffing and puffing" noises, as if regular conversation in a coffee shop is an inconvenience. That shouldn't be normalized. Coffee shops are, first and foremost, social spaces where people gather and connect, not full-time coworking offices. If management wants to accommodate both groups, perhaps the square seating area in the center could be designated as a first-come, first-served laptop section. But regardless, something needs to change and the purpose of the space needs to be reconsidered. I no longer have the motivation to come here every day and spend money on coffee only to feel unwelcome or unable to find a seat. Until the policies change, I won't be coming back.

Interior is a decent size that includes multiple 2 person tables, a large communal table and a window ledge for solo seating. I also got an iced honey latte which was the perfect amount of sweetness. Most of the best places are too crowded to ever find a seat, and others are intentionally inhospitable to laptop parkers, for understandable reasons. Capitalism is a b*ch. I was hopeful when I saw photos of Nostrand Cafe's long bench that looked primed for coworking. Turns out said bench can get rather crowded, and you better hope your laptop battery holds up, because there are no outlets. I squeezed into a corner seat, but was happy to just hang out for an hour to work while I sipped on a matcha latte and ate my bibimbap. Which brings me to perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of this cafe. It's that they also serve Korean food. Find anything from kimchi fried rice to bibim gooksu and shin ramen on their menu. I also see now that they even sell soju, beer, and kombucha on tap, which I find a bit peculiar since they close by 5pm. I may add this to the coworking cafe rotation, but if anyone has cafe recommendations for a spot that's easy to work from and also serves savory food, I'm all ears.

Like, we-think-you-don't-have-a-day-job kind of late. Noon-ish. On a Tuesday. I don't know who their target demographic is, but it's not anyone with a functioning calendar. When you do manage to show up during their elusive open hours, you're greeted by... well, "greeted" is generous. The staff makes you feel like you interrupted their private cheese cult meeting. Don't expect warm conversation -- unless you're the cheddar. There are free samples, which I respect. If you're feeling broke and brave, you could turn it into a little snack crawl. And the cheese? It's fine. Not bad. Not transcendent. Just... cheese. Maybe you'll find something aged and interesting, or maybe you'll walk out wondering if Trader Joe's would've hit the same for less.
