The staff at the counter was friendly and helpful. It was fairly busy on a weekend afternoon but they seemed well staffed. Everything moved along quickly. They even had people actively keeping the dining area clean, wiped down, and tidy. That made finding a clean spot to sit so much easier during the busy lunch hour. We ordered a chicken sandwich combo and a nugget combo. One of the combos included a pie as well. Everything came out quickly and served hot. My favorite side with chicken is always mashed potatoes with gravy and these, fast food style potatoes covered in gravy, didn't disappoint! Great flavor in the gravy! The nuggets and sandwich were both very good. Not overly greasy and not buried in breading. I'm not a fan of hot pocket type pies but my husband said it was very good. One-Star Review…read more Very disappointing experience at this McDonald's on NE 48th. I only wanted to purchase a Happy Meal toy by itself, but the employee refused to sell me the toy. She told me that she sells too many Happy Meals and would not sell me the toy. Other McDonald's locations are willing to sell the Happy Meal toy separately, so I don't understand why this location refused. It was frustrating and unnecessary, especially when other locations are willing to accommodate the same request.

Unless you grew up in the suburban-to-rural outcroppings of this state and built your pizza palate on barely there crust, Ragu-grade sauce, Bi-Mart cheese, Grade D ground sausage, lots of Canadian bacon, weird amounts of sliced produce, and dipping sauces that make ranch dressing look like extra-virgin olive oil, this isn't going to do it for you. The location inside a Fred Meyer should've been your first clue, but considering that this is where suburban Portland believes its quality bakeries, delis, and sushi places should be located, that level of culinary judgement isn't always a given out here. Listen, it's bad enough that there are arid, barren swaths of this country that think that the pizza experience is somehow improved by dipping it in some ungoldly blend of ranch, honey mustard, or garlic butter, but it gets worse when they feel that the dishes that best accompany those pizzas are poorly fried chicken 'n' taters and "Italian" sandwiches with Canadian bacon, jack cheese, and mushrooms. If Abby ever met an Italian person, she probably made an offensive comment about garlic before refusing to rent them a room. When my family first moved out here from Jersey, this state was awash in trashpile pizza like Abby's, Izzy's, Pietro's, Papa Murphy's and Bellagio's. Fortunately for them (and, later, for me), the entire region wised up and realized it didn't have to cater to people whose formative pizza experience likely involved animatronic mice or a building shaped like a pipe organ. Listen, South Hillsboro, I know the city planners have not been kind to you on the pizza front. I know that places like Jersey Girl, Pizzario, Society Pie, and Curry Pizza House are a schlep. I know that any Portland pizza place that moves out here not named Rovente has to close because of the unrelenting complaints from the mouth-breathing crust dunkers. It is unfair. But you do yourself no favors by walking into the Fred Meyer Starbucks vacancy that calls itself Abby's and expecting pizza that's going to be anything better than what a five-year-old might construct for you at a birthday party. My apologies to you: I thought we'd killed it, but confining Abby's to supermarket purgatory may only help secure you a better brick-and-mortar pizza option in the future.
