Like other reviewers point out, this is basically Chipotle for pizza's. You can get whatever toppings for the same price. Personally, I like the build your own. My family will pick one of the pre-set pizzas and then modify. It's a chain out of Bellevue Washington. My only minor gripes is that it can be a bit slow at times to get through the line and they don't have a large iced tea cup ...only about 16oz. read more

I wasn't going to say anything, but one of the employees asked me how I was liking it and I told him about the plastic. He apologized right away and offered to make me a whole new pizza. I went in for the first time and had a good experience. Basically order like you do at Chipotle, selecting which toppings you want. The fact that you can make it however you like at no extra charge is the best part. The pizza took maybe 10 minutes in the oven (didn't time it so don't quote me). The pizza tasted good. I'm usually only into deep dish pizzas made my Star, but this pizza place lives up to the hype. The MOD size (the middle size between mini and mega) was perfect for someone that's hungry. I'm lowering it to 3 stars. Pizza is fabulous, but the wait to order is ridiculous. I went on Thursday evening around 8PM. It took 40 min to order. It's not that hard folks to pick out your toppings! In addition one of the staff working had an issue with staying late. Was arguing with another co-worker. Take that talk to the back. Not right where all the customers hear you, and see you. My friend and I have come here once a week for the past two months. I finally got fed up enough with the service and quality of food to write a new review. Don't get me wrong, I love the concept of this place where you can choose as many toppings as you want. But they will DEFINITELY skim you on them so speak up and ask for more. The lady last time tried to give me only 7 olive slices on my whole pizza---ummm no, I'm gonna need more than that. Also, another issue I've ran into is the employees not cooking the gluten-free pizza long enough. If it's not fully-cooked it is super doughy and gives me a stomach ache. The times when I did ask them to put it back in (every visit) they would give me pushback and say it will "ruin the pizza." Apparently these employees at this location haven't had "the customer is always right" speech given to them. I've seen MANY cleanliness issues since I first came here. The biggest one being there was sticky stuff all over the "clean" knives. I hate how sometimes they put the utensils up instead of down. I don't want everyone touching my utensil when they reach for their own. Lastly, the last time we came here NO ONE thanked us. This has to be one of the biggest pet peeves I have because gratitude towards your customers goes a LONG way with me and often in a form of a tip or recommendation to my friends. Coming from Cali I've been to my fair share of build it yourself pizza places, but this was new and exciting for Houston! I'm always a little scared going through that line with so many toppings to choose from but you really can't screw if up. I went for a classic mozzarella and red sauce and topped it off with Canadian bacon, chicken, spicy Italian sausage, onions and roasted red peppers. Pizza was great but it didn't quite know my socks off (although I was wearing sandals so who knows what would have happened with a pair of thick wool stocking). Also Beer !!!!! This place exceeded my expectations by a lot! I thought it would be comparable to a subway quality place for pizza but they use fresh, high quality ingredients and have a legit super hot oven. This makes for a thin super crispy crust with a nice soft inside. They crank these guys out fast, but I still had to wait in line close to 35 minutes at lunch time on a Friday and an additional 10 after paying. Their regular mod size is plenty of food for one person. It's hard to recommend what to get since you just pick what you want - including the crust, sauces, and toppings. Wanted to love this place but was extremely disappointed. Stopped in to try their pizza but first go they burnt and I mean burnt the crust. It was black and a few inches from the edge in. When I mentioned it one guy said that's the way the oven cooks things. Really!!! Black uneatable crust is not the way brick ovens cook. I visited this establishment today with my family and was intrigued with the business concept for customizing your pizza at such a reasonable (bargain) price. The ingredients are first rate, fresh with a large variety to choose from. The place was well designed, with good lighting, clean and spacious. I was blown away at how reasonable the prices were for the quality and quantity of food provided for each menu choice. And they have a nice selection of salads as well as Gluten free pizza dough (although this is NOT part of my diet). I highly recommend this place for pizza lovers as well as casual pizza eaters; once you've eaten a MOD pizza, it will be very hard to visit some of the national pizza chains again. The staff was extremely friendly and personable, they seemed to enjoy working at the place (which is rare for food establishments) and worked hard to provide fast service for all the people eagerly waiting to order. This is our go-to pizza place for work a few times a month. Prices are reasonable and the unlimited free toppings is a bonus. They recently introduced a cauliflower pizza crust, which I'm trying for the first time today. Mark, the GM, recognizes us and always makes a point to greet us, which is a nice change from other establishments. If you haven't tried MOD, give it a shot! I would definitely describe this place as the Chipotle of fast food pizza. You have a large variety of toppings and because you pay for the pizza size, and not per topping, you can load up whatever you want on it, which is nice. I didn't like how they had the pizza already pre-baked, because it looked so try and flat while sitting on their counter waiting to be made into pizza. When it came out of the oven, the toppings were yummy, after all you picked it, but the pizza dough was too thin and limp (even on the pizzas they designed). I have had fast-food pizza elsewhere where they roll the fresh dough out within seconds without having it pre-baked, and it was much better, and took almost no extra time at all to bake. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're expecting pita/naan style pizza, which isn't bad but it's just not what I wanted from a pizza place. read more

Really awesome concept. Simple, buffet like feel. When I walked in the place was packed. The food smelled great. The staff yelled "Hello!". Definitely a more hip spot. The menu is simple, either choose from small, medium pizza sizes. They have the classics, which are the usual suspects. They have mozzarella, meats of all types, spicy or not spicy, and you can even make salads! The fact that they make the pizza in front of you, and to your exact liking is awesome. The price is incredible. Basically 5$ for a small pizza which is sufficient for one person and 8$ for a medium which is enough for two people. Not an awful pizza place. Generally, It's like a subway but for pizza, which really can't go too wrong. It should be simple and easy. Grab dough, put sauce, add toppings. So i'm very confused at how a door dash order asking for red sauce got delivered with absolutely no red sauce! Not to mention that it was delivered cold (which can't directly be the fault of MOD, but still. How long did they wait to hand it over? Anyway, will be calling the restaurant to speak with a manager, because why am i paying extra for a pizza to be delivered, at a shitty quality? Had i gone to the restaurant (who still profits off my delivery order), everything would have been fine. Mod Pizza was the only place open during flooding, so we stopped in for a bite. You get to customize your own pizza or salad. The pizzas come in 3 different sizes from a snack size to shareable. I got the medium and jt was more than enough. The great thing about this place is that you can get as many toppings as you want for no extra charge, and the price is very affordable.I was a little overwhelmed so I got the salvatore, one of their top 10 pizzas. If you still need help, the employees will be happy to make a recommendation. The crust on the pizza is the only thing you can't choose. It thin and a little crispy/chewy. The sauce is well seasoned and my pizza had 3 kinds of cheese, tomato, pepperoni and fresh basil. It was delicious! The pizza isn't too greasy. I also got the cappuccino crunch milk shake. I couldn't really taste the cappuccino, but it was good. The blackberry lemonade looked so good. I definitely want to try it when I go back. All in all, a 4.5/5 for Mod Pizza. read more

MOD is like a Subway for pizza. At one price, depending on size, you can put as many toppings on it as you like, which can make your pizza as stuffed or as lite as you want. They have some preset pizzas with toppings already pre-determined, but I chose to go the custom route. I did the MOD with white sauce, cheese, grilled chicken, bacon, anchovies, artichoke, garlic cloves, black olives, mushrooms, and topped with Asiago cheese. It came out fantastic! Because it's on thin crust it cooks fairly quick. I was pretty full with the MOD, and I'm sure I could have put even more on it. The sizes run in the Mini (6" $4.47), MOD (11" $7.47), and the Mega MOD (2 - 11" MODs stacked both with same toppings on each $10.47). Sure you can go to Little Cesar's and get a Hot 'n' Ready for $5 or some other large 1 topping elsewhere for $5, but that's the thing, it's ONLY 1 topping. This is the perfect single serving size, but for families, you're probably better off buying a Supreme for $10 elsewhere if you want more for your money and more mouths to feed. Otherwise, $7.47 per family member can add up really fast. But for just for yourself or going with a group, this is the perfect place to hang out and eat custom ordered pizzas. The restaurant itself is spacious, this location anyways, and it kind of reminds me of the inside of Freebirds. It's clean and the staff is pretty friendly, but probably not as free spirited as the people at Freebirds, but again, locations may vary. I've read they have homemade teas and I didn't get to try it this time, perhaps next time. Maybe I'll even get a pitcher of beer. :) read more

I love this place! I love the thin crust, I love the fact that I can chose a base other than tomato sauce, I love I get to choose as many topping as I want and only get charged one price. I adore the Blackberry/Marionberry Lemonade mixed with the Caramelized Apple tea. I love the staff, most of them already know my name....I have taken almost all of my friends there. You get to choose the size of your pizza, and then you either chose if you want a pre-set combo or if you want to build your own. There are plenty of options to be as creative as you want to make the pizza your very own. It is at a price point you don't have worry about some else liking your toppings, because they can get their own darn pizza. This place never fails! It's such a fun way to eat pizza and more importantly cheap! The pizza itself is not greasy, my friend and I share the gluten free crust and 1/2-1/2 what we want on it. They're generous with their toppings and half of that pizza is more then enough to fill you up. Did I mention that it's only $10.00? Of all the MODs in Houston this is by far my favorite simply because they cook it all the way through and it's the most consistent. What I have noticed though, is that the staff at any location I've been to is always friendly and ready to accommodate. I think my friend and I go there so much they've started to remember us! I came here with a buddy for lunch on a weekday. If you like thin crust pizza or salad that you can customize you'll love it here. I got their 11'' Mad Dog pizza which has red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mild sausage, and ground beef. I topped that off with red onions, mushroom, and bell peppers as well.
