We ordered two mini pizzas one just sauce and cheese the other the same with pepperoni. Both were pretty greasy. I used several napkins to soak up all the grease. Service was friendly and would deserve 5 stars. Food was prepared quickly but the greasy pizza lowered the score. I would probably give 3 stars. Pizza to me is average. I am a big fan of MOD and other quick, personal pizza stops. Service was great! Kind and quick! It's a great option for lunch that will actually FILL YOU UP. If you're like me, nothing more aggravating than paying for food and leaving hungry My one complain is that they cut the pizza into "fourths." And the crust is too crispy to fold it in half like a new yorker. This makes MOD a messy eat. So I would not recommend to a family with small kids. This place is clean and service is good. I came here on 5/3/15 with my son and the cashier, AAACEESUACAS, wearing a beanie, was very friendly. She asked if I were new to the place and explained how the flow is and the products. Then after I paid, she asked if I have tried their iced teas; she gave me a cup to try the teas because they were "good" according to her. She is a good example of a great customer service, who goes the extra mile. good job! I gave four stars because there is always a room for improvement. Took the hubby today, it's his first time. If you guys happen to know this man, he is very hard to please, too picky. But he loved it! He loved the concept, he loved #8 Calexico, then he added artichokes, mushrooms and anchovies. Yummm, to die for! They somehow forgot that we ordered the Strip and Dip, it took them a while to get it out to us for some miscommunication on their part. This place is kind of a hit or miss place. Usually the pizza is the right amount of crunchy and fresh however other times it's almost soggy or not well done. However, this review is more so because I got the lunch special with the pizza and a bottled drink. I've had better pizza in this place but it was still good, my issue was the "unopened" bottled coke. There was NO gas. Which could mean 1 of two things. It wasn't closed properly by whoever they got it from OR someone took a sip from it and put it back to sell. Either way anything can be inside that bottle! You can clearly see if the soda has has or not by shaking it a little. Today I went to order a Tristan Mod Pizza around 3 in the afternoon. The staff greeted me, I put in my order but then I noticed one of the worker with black and blonde hair spit in a Pizza! A potential 5 star rating, down graded to 3 stars due to: food contamination / food poisoning I got from this location and the inconsistency of how the pizzas are prepared / baked. I love pizza. And I love their Mad Dog pizza, to which I add bacon, chicken, and olives. I used to go to this location on a weekly basis. But after getting sick from a pizza I ordered here in October, I've lessened my visits. For one, I made the mistake of ordering pizza here minutes before they closed at 10pm. Previous experience working in food service and even as a customer of other restaurants, I've learned to not order food from restaurants that are about to close for the night. During this time in which they're about to close, the employees handle a lot more things than usual that isn't food, such as cleaning products, mops, towels, etc., potentially increasing the chances of contamination if they're not diligent in tossing gloves, washing hands, and keeping cleaning products away from the food. The guy that helped did put on new gloves in front of me. However, after placing my order and after he was done prepping my pizza, after the gloves we off, the guy digs in his ear in the freakin' kitchen. I also remember the cashier scratching her head while talking to me. Yeah, you don't do those things in the kitchen. That day I did not have anything to eat several hours prior to having the pizza. Fortunately I got full fast and only had half of it. I woke up in the middle of the night due to a nature call and immediately knew it was the pizza. The food poisoning wasn't severe (probably because I only had half), but this staff needs to by more mindful of their hygiene practices. read more

When I lived in Pinole, MOD had the best pizza in town. So when I return to visit family and we decided on MOD's for dinner I was delighted until I opened my box. This is my gluten free crust, red sauce, non-dairy cheese, black olives, mushrooms and artichoke hearts. However there is very little cheese and sauce. Really disappointed. Don't worry if there's nothing on there that you like because you have all the power to make absolutely any type of pizza that your little heart may desire . Keep in mind when making a pizza, although it is that same price for any type of topping doesn't matter how much your pizza will be limited to being fully cooked if there is a mounted of toppings piled on. There's so many toppings to choose from @_@ ... you choose the size of the pizza, the type of sauce and add as many or as few toppings as you want. The price is based on the size of the pizza and not the amount of toppings.. that alone makes life easier =) It's a good pizza place for groups especially if there's picky pizza eaters.
