The formula at MOD is pretty much just like any build-your-own pizza place like Bricks or Quickie - pick you crust, sauce, and toppings and they'll bake it while you pay. Think Chipotle/Subway but for pizza. What keeps MOD from being worth your time and money? The smell. Seriously, the restaurant neighbours a cheap nail salon so the entire restaurant reeks of nail chemicals. The stench is so pervasive that it wasn't possible for me to actually eat here, I had to change my eat-in order to a takeaway. Love MODS and the pizza was delicious however the ice and fountain drink machine, as well as the dispensers they serve their specialty drinks in were disgusting. Mold seen in and around the drip pan and in the ice dispenser. When we left my husband noticed mold at the bottom of his drink. The bathrooms need cleaning as well. We've been to this location many times before and haven't been in a while and it was never this way. This place opened up a month or so ago and nothing beats trying new pizza places. The atmosphere and process of ordering reminded me of Chipotle, although the options for toppings are endless. They provide a basic menu with pizzas they have come up with but also allow you to add any topping or build your own. The beauty of this place is that you pick the size of your pizza and that's what you pay for. You don't have all the added costs of each topping you choose so I took advantage of ordering the pizza called "Dillon James" with add ons such as pineapple and jalapeños. The pizza was ready in a decent amount of time and was absolutely delicious. The cheese melted in your mouth and the thin crust was perfectly done. Customer service was phenomenal here! It was my first time and (I think it was Rachel?) the girl here was very nice and patient. She explained everything to me. I went with a mix of the white sauce and pesto, along with a mix of mozzarella and Gorgonzola cheese. Turned out perfect with a mix of my favorite veggies and meat. Walked in with my friend and ordered my pizza from a young girl wearing a bandana who did not greet us or anything just asked "what pizza do you want." rudely. We continued with our order ignoring her rude dry service and once we were checking out I noticed a young man at the stove area not wearing gloves and touching my food with his bare hands as he put my pizza into the stove. Immediately we tell the cashier that we longer want our food because the man touched our food with his bare hand and unbothered he replied with "ok have a good day" and assisted the next customer not mentioning anything about putting gloves on to the man. We went to MOD pizza for the first time the other day. I've heard good things, so I decided to take my daughter there. I told the gentleman it was our first time and he explained everything to us, and made an awesome pizza. He even split the ingredients on half the pizza, letting her pick what she wanted. Then, 15 minutes later, the manager walked over to our table and asked us how everything was. That was unexpected at a small restaurant, and I was very impressed. I even saw him talking to a new employee, asking him how he was liking his job and if he needed help with anything. I've worked in customer service for over 10 years. It's nice to receive the same service that you give to people every day. He thanked us for coming in and was very personable. Great job everyone!! This is our new favorite pizza spot! I work at chipotle so I know how a line works and let me tell you that the two people who served my family were sooo slow and looked like they were dreading their job on that particular day. Hey I've had those days too...chipotle customers can be really rude sometimes but I mean.. come on. I was getting really frustrated with how slow they were moving..my family and I were the only ones in line too... I just didn't understand. The cashier was the only happy one so I'm glad for that. The older man who was handling the pizzas in the oven and calling names out.. he was so rude. Maybe he had resting b*tch face. First I want to say that this is the fisrt negative review i've ever had to do. I gave this location 2 stars for the customer service. The pizza is always made perfect and taste great. The customer service is extremely lacking here. There are usually 3-6 employees whenever I go but they are not engaging with the customers and seem to always be in a bad mood. I've stood in line for 40 min becuase there were not enough employees working the line. I've decided to order online to avoid the long wait and still wait 10-20 min after my pickup time for my pizza. Today's lunch was my first visit to MOD Pizza and chances are, my last. I ordered a pizza directly from their selection on the wall and they kept asking me what I wanted on it. Shouldn't they know their own pizzas. When it arrived(they had to redo it for some reason I was never told about), it had maybe 2 ounces of chicken and very little taste. You get the feeling that this location is a train wreck when it comes to operations. It feels like the employees kind of goof off when it's not busy because I came in at the start of the lunch hour and they had like 3-4 pizzas ready and the rush literally came in behind me. By the time they got to me they were already out of pre-made trays and mind you the holders on the wall can hold a lot more than 3-4. And I mean they were having to mash the dough, put it in the machine to press it, etc. for every order starting with mine. This created a massive back log. Then there were so many pizzas coming in and out of the oven that they just starting throwing whatever on whatever plate. Which is fine if you're taking it to go - you'll find out you got the wrong pizza later. But the issue was there were about 4 in-store that were made wrong. These only stack back into the lunch rush queue. It just seems like if you know you have rushes like this (and this was on a mid-week day not even a busy Friday, for instance) - you should see the importance of prep work, being ready and being organized but this was clearly something that was missing at this location. All things considered, I'd HIGHLY advise you to check your order before you leave if you order to-go. read more

This was my second visit to MOD pizza but not this location. My friend and I came here for a lunch date at about 11:30 pm. There was no line, but a short one formed after we ordered. The menu was easy to read and decide. They had a lot of options to choose from and some unique flavor combinations. Service was quick and decent. The food was really tasty as well. Especially the side salad we choose with sweet potato. Yummy! The only issue I had with the restaurant was it wasn't clean. The bathrooms smelled, the soda machine looked like it hasn't been cleaned or descaled in months and the pizza oven guy was touching the pizzas going into the oven AND touching money at the register. No gloves or washing in between. A bunch of kids working here looking like they need some proper adult supervision about proper cleaning and food handling. Unfortunately I won't return to this location, but maybe another one. Hopefully they clean that place up. read more

I always go to Urban Bricks if I wanted a fresh and inexpensive pizza but today I found a new favorite pizza place. I first heard about MOD pizza from a youtube vlogger based on Seattle. I searched to see if we have one in the area and luckily we do. I'm surprised that every time I searched for pizzas in Yelp that this never shows up. Hmm..anyways. We are a party of 4 and we ordered 3 medium size pizza. Sorry I forgot the names, but I'm telling you all of them are good!!! I enjoyed how thin the pizza is and it was perfectly cooked. It's not thin like a cracker but just enough softness and crunchiness to the dough. (hopefully I'm making sense). We also ordered a cinnamon stick which comes with a cinnamon glazed dip!! OMG!! It was so addicting and the price less then $3.00..The service was great. However, I do have to take one stars off. While I do enjoy the tea selections that they a have, some of it are either too sweet, no sweet at all even though it says sweet and some of it are just too bland. So I don't like giving negative reviews but I feel this should be said. We ordered for pickup and once we got it home our custom pizza was just thrown together. The bread was so soggy that I couldn't even pick the pizza up. I was starving so I just went ahead and only ate the toppings with a fork. Also the pizza wasn't even fully cut so the whole thing was an absolute mess. It was obvious it was just thrown together. It was Friday so I'm sure they were busy but still it wasn't the best experience for that. I also got a Caesar salad. The dressing tasted amazing but it was literally only lettuce with maybe two croutons and a couple tomato slices in a really large bowl of salad. Again another sign of just throwing it together. But with that being said our other pizza that was just chicken cheese and sauce was actually really flavorful and put together nicely was still not cut all the way through but done much better than my other. I would definitely give them another try, I would just hope that in to go orders they would handle with a little more care. read more
