I really enjoyed my tacos, especially with the various salsas available. And $3 margaritas? Hell yeah. But I can't fathom why three tacos and a burrito would take over a half hour to prepare by even the most inexperienced kitchen staff. After we ate, we decided to order a milkshake to go, thinking that with only a few people left in the restaurant, it shouldn't take too long. It was finally served 20 minutes later. Both experiences - the one a few years ago, and the one recently - took place during dinner hour on the weekend. I'm genuinely curious if the inefficiency persists during busy weekday lunch hours when people need to get back to work. As I said, the food is delicious and there are plenty of menu choices I want to try. Life is too short, though. If I were to give it a positive spin, I would say that it's great if you have a lot of spare time.

All in all, I love this location because it's always a perfect dinner spot when we're done running our target errands. Their drive through line always look long but we've never waited more than 5 - 10 minutes to order and get our food both drive thru and inside.

This is hands down the Best pizza place in Vernon Hills or even Lake County! I've been coming here since they opened and I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always extremely friendly and super upbeat. I can't eat dairy and this is the only pizza place that has Dairy-free cheese, so I can go crazy here!! The Dairy-free cheese is to die for and they have all the toppings you can think of and you pay a flat fee for the size of the pie you want, so you can go All Out!! They have a great variety of specialty teas and drinks, not to mention they even have craft beer on tap or bottles and wine too!!! We had lunch at the Vernon Hills, IL Mod Pizza and they were understaffed, but the manager (I think) Ricky, made sure he took care of us. After being told they were out of an ingredient, I changed my order. When we went to pay, I mentioned it to Ricky and he said he would go back and cut up the basil, then proceeded to make me a pizza as I wanted (I had changed to a salad) and gave it to me on the house. As they were understaffed, Ricky helped make sure other customers were pleased with their orders and was very friendly. Good job Ricky and Mod! People make the difference! read more

Awesome experience. I love being able to create a new pizza every time. I branched out tonight Trying one of their seasonal offerings, the Kevin (which I assume was named after me). I was pleasantly surprised by this subtly sweet and savory pie. The staff seemed to enjoy knowing they were making my namesake pie. The interaction with MOD Pizza teams is always a pleasant experience, no matter the location. I'm usually very limited in pumpkin flavored dishes but this one very easily gets added to that list. This is some of best pizza I've ever had! I love how generous they are with the toppings!! AND their toppings are good quality (for example: artichoke hearts, roasted bell peppers, a wide variety of Italian cheeses). It has been a great take-out option during COVID-19. It is healthy and yet still saucy, cheesy, and delicious. The perfect comfort food! My one critique is that sometimes they put too much additional sauce (e.g. balsamic glaze) on top of the pizza. Good addition to the area. I added pepperoni and pineapple and about ten other things ... and it was too much. I think they need a little more guidance. it reminds me of those stir fry places where you make your own bowl (like Big Bowl) and it just turns out meh because you didn't pick a great combination. It was sweet and savory and the toppings were well spread on every bite. What I did struggle with was how doughy the crust tasted for it being a thin crust but overall a great pie! We also tried the Works. It was great and fluffy, plenty of toppings perfectly baked. As we were eating we needed napkins and some silverware but had to run to the bar to get someone to bring some over. The turn off was that all the staff was standing there staring at us as they were talking about one of their tables in a negative way. While they weren't talking about us, they were talking about another family with a kiddo and I can only imagine how I'd feel if I could hear them talking about us. Overall the food was great, bathrooms were clean but the service was lacking this experience but I'm not sure if that's how it always is? I'd also highly recommend cleaning the menus before giving it to folks, both of the menus we received had food stuck to it and tomato sauce (I think?) all over the inside.

They apologized for the inconvenience due to our pick up guy forgetting one of the bags, and brought out the replacement (times 2!) within 15 minutes! (we got 2 orders of chicken wings!) The food was of course, amazing! We got the Cheef, Lasagna, a pizza, cheese fries (the best!) and the chicken wings! Their food is always consistently delicious and fresh! I think next time, I will order through Rosati's, instead of DoorDash!

We weren't asked what type of crust, though they have 3 options; deep, hand tossed, and thin. It's expensive, but at lunchtime, no one else entered the place for the 30 minutes we were there, so I guess ya better charge a lot. It's good pizza, good service, recommend.
