All I can say is... wow!! My favorite Thai place by far. Luckily I work in Montebello a couple times a month and I always make it a point to come here for lunch. All items I've tried are great. Really enjoy he Thai noodle soup. Incredible meal for $8.95! Pad Thai, curry and fish all deliver as well. The service is not perfect but when you're paying $8-$10 for a great meal it would be silly to complain. They get the food and drinks out to you quickly and bring the bill with minimal wait. Thai cuisine cravings satisfied and it did not disappoint. the owner is good in customer service too! We actually ordered it via ubereats about 2 weeks ago, the owner even gave us a free food for an unclaimed order by the customer because of the curfew and it was hard to find an ubereats driver to pick it up. I feel as if price and quality correlate here. I fell in love Thai food as of late, and it's a shame that I couldn't appreciate it when I was in Thailand. There never seems to be a large crowd when I'm around (or maybe it's because I choose to drop in at odd, off hours), but service is always friendly. I've had the pad thai several times before, and while it is pricier than other places, it is quite delicious and filling. No complaints, no inconsistencies. I've come to the realization that pad thai is served with many variations, but the flavor is good here and the noodles are cooked nicely. I've had their thai tea twice, and both times it was served with an insane amount of ice which ultimately works out fine because they were too sweet. However, my favorite plate and the reason I keep coming back occasionally is to have their mango with sticky rice. At $7, my wallet cries a little. But oh my. The mango tastes so fresh! so sweet! a little sour! a little soft, but not too soft! And the rice is served WARM and of the perfect consistency. It takes a little while to prepare (about 10 minutes), but it's well worth it. BEST in the area that I've had so far. My parents took a to-go menu (but they're not very adventurous - they know what they like and they stick to it), and they said they're excited to come by for dinner one of these days. read more

Pretty good thai food joint in the Montebello area. Came here and ordered there chicken Pad Thai, and chicken red curry. Both were very good. We also ordered some spring rolls. Went on a vacation in Los Angeles. Recently on July 14th, 2023. Found this restaurant in the area where I stayed at. DELICIOUS FOOD! Very affordable! The staff was very friendly! On my most recent visit I had: - Thai Tea: Good sweetness level and taste - Pleasing Garlic Chicken: I really enjoyed this dish, which is very simple (cabbage, carrots, chicken and garlic + whatever other magic they add) - Thai Basil Beef: Nothing really special about this dish - Papaya Salad: Has a bit of a kick that I enjoyed. I came to have dinner at this place, and the waitress, who claims to be the owner brought back the wrong drinks and said we didn't give her the right information. Rather than just simply correcting it, she gave us a hard time over it. Then, when she brought our food order, she was upset that we didn't acknowledge her, and said thank you. This place was really solid. Servings were plenty and everything tastes fresh. We ordered the Supreme Pad Thai (9/10), the house fried rice (10/10), crunchy shrimp (10/10) and a small wonton soup (7/10) (needed a little more salt) I understand that Modern Thai is a small business trying to navigate covid but getting red solo cups seemed a little cheap when we got our drinks. In covid time, I get that some places want to cut their sanitary corners and not have to wash a bunch of cups all day long, but giving away red solo cups all day seems wasteful. Nothing wrong with the service, just the foods were no good at all on friday night around 745p onwards. The foods we ordered were Lemon Steam Fish (taste lemon..!), Green Curry chicken (Chicken were hard like just out fr freeze), Brown rice (small portion and were hard like no cook), Tom Yum Shrimp Soup (Portion is small, so sweet, 2-3shrimps, etc...so we request to remake, they just add salt to even out and the soup was same portion like before.. ) after retaste it...Gosh! Got take out while in the area for business. Ordered Crispy Spring rolls, Chili Basel with Tofu and the Sweet Sticky Rice. I was extremely will my meal. The spring rolls stayed crispy due to the holes cut into top pf the package to allow the steam to escape, nice touch. The other items were tasty and would go again in the future. read more

Service was ok - our waitress just couldn't understand that we wanted plain chowmein. Good came at diffent times, orange chicken being the last and our group having to start eating without them. Chowmein was a little too greasy for our liking. The spicy orange chicken was way to "crispy" and the order of non-spicy chicken was a bit too dry. I have ordered take out from this place twice and dined in once. It's close to home and usually where I turn when I need a Thai food fix. Most recently, I ordered the pot of Tom Yum Goong soup, pad see you w/beef and ginger chicken for dinner take out. The total came out to just under $30 and was ready in about 15 min. The soup had several shrimp in it and the broth was very tasty. They use white meat chicken in the ginger chicken, which is a big plus for me. And the beef in the pad see you is good without any after taste like some places have. Portions are generous. Oh and the entrees and noodles come in resealable/reusable plastic containers which is a nice touch. There is lots of free parking in the lot and they are right next to the Montebello post office. I love this Thai restaurant! It has great lunch and a great variety to choose from! The food is amazing! It has so much flavor. My favorite is their chicken pad thai. It's a decent size portion. It can feed two, unless you're really hungry, it can feed one! The ambience can be improved, but with good food and good company the lack of decor goes unnoticed. Found this little gem a couple of months ago. A friend ordered food to be delivered. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended it.

The food was amazing and the service was very fast and friendly! The ambiance was very nice especially the fish tank!

Dropped in for lunch, but didn't order off the lunch menu because I can tell the portion sizes will be small based on the price. So I went with the Three Flavor Fish, which is a fried filet of pompano in chili sauce with bell peppers. The "chili" sauce was salty and a little overwhelming. It was soy sauce-based and the fried fish sat in it like a bathtub. Halfway through my meal, I had to take the fish out on a separate plate before it soaked up too much sauce. On a brighter note, I also tried the Golden Tofu appetizer. It was deep fried and had a nice, thin, crispy texture on its outer shell. Perfectly cooked! The Chow-mein was very oily. The Sea Treasure Soup was not good. The Orange chicken looks good in the outside but when you bite into it the flavor is so bland. Awesome! The food always has this fresh taste about it. Yes... I know it is cooked at a restaurant. But I know you know what I mean ;-) this is the real deal. My wife kids and I frequent here often and get treated like we are family. The place is located in a nice quiet shopping center. Once you walk in, you get the sense everything will be okay. Even when busy, you know the food will be good. The servers always are polite to my kids which is huge. I called for a take out for an office party. I was almost done giving my order, when the lady put me on hold and then I was disconnected. I must have called at least 7-8 times and the phone went into voicemail. The lady who took my order did not bother to call me back, even though she HAD my phone number, which was frustrating because I was in a hurry to get the food to the office. Once I reached the restaurant, no apologies for what had happened! The food was mediocre with the chicken in all the dishes half cooked! On top of that the lady in the front (probably the lady who was taking my order) was as rude as can be! While I was waiting for my take out, I asked for a glass of water. She took her time in giving me the glass of water, and when I asked for a straw, she literally dumped a couple of straws, splashing water from my glass! How can you treat a customer like that? Wife and I went there for the first time yesterday evening and we liked it. It has booths and tables and an A rating. Seemed very clean to me. We had: TOM YUM GOONG - very good. CASHEW CHICKEN - good SUPREME PAD THAI - very good MODERN THAI FRIED RICE - interesting but so so The table service was good - nice ladies but weak on English. AC was confortable. I love this mom and pops place! The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and attentive. It doesn't get much better. I've never had to wait for a table, and the parking lot is huge, so no hunting for a space either. Everything I've tried is good, but my favorites are the Supreme Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao. Support local business! This place is amazing! Also, I noticed some reviews complaining about the food; but they ordered kung pao chicken...Umm this is a Thai restaurant and you ordered Chinese food, what did you expect?! Since 2019 we have enjoyed this delicious food. The service is not the most attentive, but it's ok. The food portion have drastically changed. We order Sataee chicken and they were the tiniest pieces of chicken I've seen. Considering that they increased the price on everything, I don't like the that they changed for portion size on their menu. I have recommended this Thai restaurant to many people, not sure if I will after our last visit. Thus far I am giving it 4 starts because the food is delicious, but prices is too high service, isn't the greatest especially considering that they include a ln 18% tip on your bill, which is a big no no for me. My wife and I, with are 1 year old stopped in for lunch. The wait staff was outstanding and so was the food. The Pha-Thai was a favorite, with the orange in a close second. Chicken looked dried, dehydrated, old. When I tasted it it was clearly stale and had been sitting around for days. It was. So dehydrated that the chicken leg was half removed, as if someone had bitten into it. Even the sauce could not save the taste of this disgusting chicken.
