My usual go to dish is the supreme pad thai because it has chicken and shrimp and the sauce is not overly sweet. I put in an order through my Yelp app for pickup and it said it would be ready between 1:57 & 2:15. I arrived at 2:15 and was told it was almost ready. Honestly I don't understand all the bad reviews on this place. I've always walked by but never been until day where I decided to try it out. I ordered a pad Thai and Thai iced tea. Both were good and came out super promptly along with the appropriate utensils. I'm usually a bit picky with my pad Thai but theirs hit the spot. I came by myself so I didn't have space to order more food but everything else on the menu looked good. The server also checked in on me too to make sure everything was fine. I ordered delivery from here and it was highly disappointing. It was over $16 for the noodle dishes and it didn't have flavor. Pictured below is the Pad Kee Mao which had no soy sauce in it and tasted like nothing. In addition, I asked for no bell peppers and they included bell peppers. First and foremost, this place is one of our local faves! The food is delicious and aptly priced! Leaving here full, won't hurt your wallet! The service can be quick and attentive. They had recently renovated and added beer to their menu, which added to a vibrant atmosphere and full restaurant experience. My only gripes are that the supreme pad Thai have shrimp that are un-peeled, which they've had peeled until a few months ago, and that they don't have napkin dispensers, soy and chili sauces readily available at the table. Really disappointed with the portion size here. I ordered drunken noodles to go and right when she gave me the bag, I knew it was going to be bad because of how small and light the container was. When I got home and ate it, the taste was pretty good. But $10 for that portion size when other places I've gone to give you double that... I won't be coming back again unless they become less stingy with their food. Just ordered takeout from Modern Thai via Yelp - such an easy process. The prices are absolutely reasonable, especially for the portions! Don't even get me started about the cool containers the food came in with - definitely reusable and they keep the food really hot. When I arrived to pick up my order, the food was already neatly packaged and ready to be picked up. The pad see ew is good, but the medium is pretty spicy and I do like spicy. My sister found it too hot and should've probably ordered mild. The coconut shrimp comes with this mango sauce that is delicious! It was probably my favorite thing. One of favorite spots to eat Thai Restaurants when we are in the area. We usually order our Beef or Shrimp Padd See Oo but decided in something different this time. For our appetizer and drinks we couldn't pass our Delicious Sweet Refreshing Thai Tea . With our Drinks we started with our Apitizers Seculant Thai Eggrolls and Crispy Fried Calamari. The service was very efficient as our server was always checking on us if we needed anything else. But of course we do.. Our Main Course which was Sweet and Sour Fish Mangollian Beef and The Pork Belly with Salad Vegatable. All Our dishes came out all at one time while we were still eating our Appitizer . We didn't mind at all because everything we ordered was delicious and fantastic. It's all about the lunch specials, seems like this place has it's regulars! Came here at 12:15pm and there were plenty of tables available, this might be due to this restaurant's poor locations tucked in the far corner of the best buy shopping plaza near the 60 freeway. This restaurant has tons of space, you feel very comfy and relaxed. At this place you there will be no worries about someone brushing their @$$ to the back of your head as they squeeze into their table behind you. The service was a little TOO responsive o_0; immediately upon being seated I was asked for my drink selection, then within 10 minutes of getting the menu I was asked 3 times if I was ready to place my order... eerrr I guess they took my response of "give me another minute to decide" very literally. Hint: If we are not looking at our the menu, we are ready. I suppose it's better to have responsive servers than none at all. The lunch specials are generously sized. On the look out for deals I ordered the Tom Kai Noodle Soup for $6.95 this isn't on the lunch special menu but an laminated half-page insert. I love soup and noodles, and this bowl satisfied, very filling with plenty of chicken in it. There was the option to get shrimp instead of chicken which is probably the better deal price wise. Next time I will get the regular Tom Yum soup base, the coconut milk made the soup quite rich. The thai iced tea that Phil W. ordered was huge! I estimated it to be about 22 ounces, not bad for $2:50. This place has an A rating and a "people love us on yelp" sticker on the outside. =p This place takes credit card- Amex even and splits checks!!! The pad ki mao was prepared as ordered, but the mild spicy may still have a bit more of a kick than expected. The noodles and tofu tasted fresh. The orange shrimp was sweet and I liked how the coating wasn't very thick. But be careful, the whole shrimp might be coated (including the tail with shell) so check before you pop the whole thing into your mouth. He also provided two side plates for us even without us asking. I think he assumed we were sharing. Regarding food, I thought it was average. Don't get me wrong; it was yummy, but nothing stuck out. All I can say is... wow!! My favorite Thai place by far. Luckily I work in Montebello a couple times a month and I always make it a point to come here for lunch. All items I've tried are great. Really enjoy he Thai noodle soup. Incredible meal for $8.95! Pad Thai, curry and fish all deliver as well. The service is not perfect but when you're paying $8-$10 for a great meal it would be silly to complain. They get the food and drinks out to you quickly and bring the bill with minimal wait.
