The salesman was helpful without being pushy, the sales manager who finalized our deal was awesome and didn't play any games. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different Toyota dealership first off. You drive up and they are like vultures flocking to your car. My husband and I just wanted to look and the guy would not leave us alone. We end up wanting to see what it would cost for a new rav4. Tell them my price range and they basically try to bully me into getting the car. Holding the registration for my current car on the other side of the desk. And basically treating me like an idiot cause I'm in my 20s and think I wouldn't know better. And low balled my trade in by $600 down in market value. Like I said don't waste your time. read more

I have a new complaint. Samir Katwan (financial manager) was supposed to cancel the warranty on my 6 month old "totaled" car when I sent the mileage info from my insurance company to him. I called Samir on Monday, March 2nd and asked him if I could email it to him; he said yes. I emailed it to him. I emailed him the next day and asked if the warranty was cancelled; no response from him. Then I called Zurich on Thursday and they said Toyota never cancelled it. This is the customer service I get from this dealership. I purchased three cars from them and this is the thanks I get. Samir totally blew me off. He just added more salt in the wound. read more

The only reason the review is such a low rating is due to the fact that I feel the service department (or the owner as the employees blame) are doing whatever possible to make it as difficult to recieve my courtesy life long oil changes. Maybe they have thought twice about having offered that program. First when I bought my car I did not need an appointment for an oil change, then one day I needed an appointment, then I didn't, now I do. Make up your mind. Now they require you to bring in your vehicle registration too! A simple california drivers license shoild be proof that I am the original owner of the car that I purchased from YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. read more

Ya, one star. I took my Toyota in for service with an appointment and was there about 15 minutes early. I figured that it would take around an hour to change my oil and do the service, I was wrong. It took them around two hours. I figured that maybe it was a one time thing so I went back without an appointment, but I was there at 915 AM. I asked if they could do an oil change in a couple hours and they said "yes not problem". Well I guess it was a problem because when I came back to pick up my car at 345 it was not done. People are very nice and the establishment is high end, but the fact they sold me a $15,000 car and refused to fix a faulty windshield they sold with the car is ridiculous. Wow I haven't given a five star rating in quite awhile, but as far as service goes Modesto Toyota is king! I went in for a part pick up and installation and had prepaid over the phone, the parts department informed me that under my warranty my parts were covered as well as installation. Modesto Toyota went above and beyond to apologize for charging me but I assured them that it was no harm done. Eek! is right. Brought my Tacoma, which I bought at Modesto Toyotoa, in for a 5K service while also wanting to the address a TSB for the 2016 Transmission Shift Feeling Enhancements: T-SB-0077-16. I was experiencing up-shifting issues with my Tacoma while on cruise control on the freeway. This was a TSB from Toyota so I didn't think having it addressed was going to be an issue but was I wrong. So guess what? They drove my truck for 3 miles and didn't experience any up-shifting issues and refused to do the ECM flash for me. Did they even get to the freeway within that 3 miles to test the cruise control? When I came to pick up my truck the service personnel basically told me to find another dealer that would help me.......very disappointing! I would not recommend this place. read more

I purchased a new truck through the Costco program and had a great experience at Modesto Toyota. When I arrived everyone was friendly and helpful. Rob Young the sales manager answered questions for me that none of the other dealers had an answer for. Matt Hermiz also helped with the paperwork and he was great. As I was actually making the purchase I kept waiting for the games to begin and they didn't. I've experienced the car salesman/ sales manager/ finance manager games in the past but these guys didn't try to push anything or make any last second changes. After the paperwork was done the truck had been washed, waxed, and polished. Rob Young the sales manager even had the gas tank filled up for me at no charge. I wrote a bad review and apparently the manager had seen it and decided to try and help. They worked on the truck and got everything fixed. They ended up discounting my next service. The assistant up front named Von was very nice and had good customer service. I'm not writing toyota Modesto off now. I will continue going. Hopefully the prices can be fixed to a more reasonable price. I like the building and the waiting area with coffee. Never met the manager but it was a nice gesture to fix things. We came here just to look and found something we liked. Everything was fine until we went to make negotiations. Allen Gologhlan gave us a number and we agreed to it. He said the gap insurance would be included at a lower cost. Once we went to talk to the finance manager that number changed by 5 dollars more a month. The the finance manager said the quote we were given was impossible and that Allen, the sales manager, should have given us the prior quote. This was poor communication between both managers and felt cheated because that 5 dollar difference will end up being 300+ more in the end. read more

I contacted Modesto Toyota online about purchase a vehicle for my friend Christine as she asked me if I could help her out and Khalil from Modesto Toyota got back to me promptly. He answered EVERY question I had and even responded to me quickly via text (sorry Khalil for the thumb blister ; ) He gave me honest, up front numbers without any games.....even the price was so good I really didn't have to negotiate at all and trust me I can be a stickler negotiator : ) So we were honestly thinking that maybe Khalil thought that once we arrived he had this sale in the bag and sell the car to us and send us on our way.......boy were we WRONG! He was so professional, courteous, and actually new what he was talking about (THIS GUY DOES HIS HOMEWORK AND KNOWS HIS CARS). He took a few hours taking us on a test drive and explaining everything leaving ZERO questions needed to ask. We never felt pressured, we were treated with respect and doing all this while knowing we were getting a GREAT deal! So then it was time to go to Finance (we all know how that can go sometimes)......Mike who I guess is the newest guy at the job was EXCELLENT you would have never guessed that he had only been doing Finance for 2 weeks! He was professional, always had a smile and was very courteous as well. Khalil and Mike work GREAT together and it shows! Even though my friend Christine bought the car and not me, I may for the first time in my life consider buying Toyota's from Khalil @ Modesto Toyota when both of my GM leases are up next year (THAT'S BIG WHEN COMING FROM A GUY WHO CURRENTLY OWNS 2 GM VEHICLES AND HAS BEEN A GM GUY ALL HIS LIFE OWNING 4 OTHER GM VEHICLES!!!). The above sums it all up and I"m more than happy to write this review as Khalil & Mike both did a fine job. Word to the wise: don't leave until they do the job. If the ball gets dropped it stays on the ground. Generally my experience with the service department has been great. Good communication, explanations of services and warranty by knowledgeable and friendly people. However, with this case the follow through, communication with the customer, and accessibility to management left me with a bad taste in my mouth. 2 Months ago my toyota prius navigation screen stopped responding. I took it in, got the great service I was used to. One hiccup, they couldn't get the navigation DVD out of the old system. The new system therefore didn't work: radio, navigation, back up camera, etc... It could take up to 4 weeks for the company to get it out and mail it back. Darn... But I am a big boy. I can handle a little low tech driving for a while. The weeks go by and this is where the bad service comes in: 4 weeks - told to sit tight for another week. 5 weeks - no access to managers. 6 weeks - they agree to call other company to see what's up - REALLY??? 7 weeks - no call back to follow up on previous promise and no access to a manager when I call. 8 weeks. Voicemails left for managers. No response. Each of these weeks required multiple phone calls during my work breaks and hours of waiting listening to their hold music to be told that they haven't done anything about the problem if I was able to get ahold of someone at all! I do not feel like a valued customer. If I wanted crappy customer service I would go back to merced Toyota. At least they offer a free oil change every 5 crappy service experiences. read more

This review is over due. I never give reviews but when you get good customer service u have too. My husband and I went into Modesto Toyota looking to get a 4runner for expanding family with a trade in. We had been looking for months and doing our homework. We met Chris and showed us the 4runner we been looking for, it's rare and they happened to have it that day. Chris was very helpful, friendly, genuine salesman, No Pressure and not pushy at all. We told him what we wanted and we were able to work out a deal and drive home with it. The next day when we drop off our trade in. My husband left his keys in the truck and Chris was super nice and met us half way to return our keys back to us. Some weeks ago he reach out to us to check on us and see how the new truck was working for us but I had been in the hospital for a week going thru something really hard and he said he would pray for myself and family and that meant a lot. I put a $ 800 deposit a vehicle at 3 pm , i was going to the next day to pick up the car but at 9 pm the same day of my deposit they called me saying the cars was sold " because was a purchase order that they did not see in the system" long story short they are not honest , and they have not even refunded my deposit even when 5 business days have come and go. I brought my car in to have the oil changed and tires rotated. My tires did not get rotated. I know this because only one of my tires was missing a cap and the next day I noticed that tire did not move. I know it's not a big deal but when you at told you received a service you didnt get its troubling. I called to complain and they told me the rotated them. I told them that's not possible. All they offered me was to drive back to Modesto a 35 minute trip and wait an hour for a rotation. That's bad service as it should have been done when I went there last week. I bought my new Highlander at Modesto Toyota in 2016. The first 25,000 miles of service calls were well done, on time and good customer service, however, the last two have made me very angry and distrustful. WARNING, I would use another Toyota dealer. My latest experience was for my 40k service. I made an appt and was 20 minutes early for my 12:40 appt. The first service advisor shifted me to Aaron who I've worked with before. He gave me the paperwork and good advice but failed to tell me the shuttle service wasn't available for 1 1/2 hours and my car was supposed to done with its service in 1 1/2 hours. I specifically asked because I saw a lot of express service cars and since I made an apt, I expected prompt service and to be in the front of the line and said as much to Aaron. So, I waited patiently for 1 1/2 hours and then the shuttle driver finally showed up. I would have changed to another day if I'd known shuttle wasn't available and I should have been told about the DELAY! Then I bothered Aaron about when my car was going to be done. He put me off another 30 minutes so it's now been 2 hrs. So then Aaron said it was done, printed the paperwork and I paid. Then I went outside to pick up and they couldn't find it because it was still on the service bay. So it took 30 more minutes to finally have the car brought out to me. I was so angry I made them stop parking it and insisted they give me my car. 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation.. awful experience, so angry and disappointed. Like my Highlander but customer service has really deteriorated. I'm also concerned about what's really getting done on my car, makes be very DISTRUSTFUL! read more
