A perfect spot for a date night, girls night, or any kind of celebration. This restaurant is a unique fusion of cultures and tastes! I suggest ordering a few different dishes and sampling with a group of friends. My favorite Benitez were the Brussel sprouts (literally could order two bowls just for myself!), the naan with the whipped feta, and the sweet and spicy chicken! Tons of drink options as well and staff was wonderful! I was too stuffed for dessert this time but they do have sweet treats for ending your meal!

2.20.26 Hubs knows I love ramen and sushi and we hadn't been here before, so he got reservations to celebrate my 55th. (I mean, my 29+th ...) This was a Friday night are our reservations were for 6:30pm. Modita is on Carrolton next to the Bottleworks Hotel, so there is the street parking and the lot - everything was already fairly corded, but we got a space in the lot. We ended up arrive about 6:15 and the place was probably 80% empty at that time. The interior edges on industrial, but with a darker color palette that feels cozy. We were shown a table in the front room, in the corner, which kind of was disappointing because there were cooler booths and more space elsewhere. So I had a good view of just a wall with freaky monkey wallpaper on it, ha. Water was filled right away and our server came pretty quickly. He said there were no chef specials off menu because they were just coming off devour indy last week. We took a few minutes to look over everything, and I always enjoy asking the servers what is their favorite and why. I am NOT a picky eater, so I will often order whatever they recommend because I like trying everything. We're fans of the Cunningham restaurants, so generally we expect it all to be delicious. I ordered a glass of the Gaspard sauvignon blanc (so delicious ... I ordered another later) and hubs just got a diet coke. We were a little "huh?" when they brought him a glass and a can. The waiter explained that all the other Cunningham properties use (fountain) pepsi products, but , being in Bottleworks ( the historic Coke factory), they use Coke products here. Great ... we like Coke better .. just cans at $3.50 ea. did not fit the ambiance. FOOD! Check out my pics. We got the edamame (wonderful sauce) and uramaki roll to start, then hubs got the shrimp drunken noodles and I got the pork shoyu ramen, which I also had asome leftovers of. For dessert, the Yuzu bar, a nice thick citrusy curd. Everything had a really nice flavor and met expectations of pretty fabulous. My pics are a little dark because the room was quite dim, but I adjusted a bit and I think you'll see how pretty the food was - and it all had very nice flavor. I expect such for a Cunningham restaurant, and, in terms of food, that did not disappoint at all. One downside is that the room was indeed a little too dark, especially at the corner table where none of the overhead lights hit it (the way it was that we could see at neighboring tables). Also, we were right under the speaker and that, plus the general conversation in the room, was quite loud. We basically could not talk to each other without really raising our voices - a lot. Everything came to $165 with free birthday dessert, tax & tip. So ... A+ for the totally #yum food, and this would be a great just regular after work type of place, but for a special occasion ambiance and service levels this does not match some of their other properties. #ReviewsByRL

This place was really cool. I'd come back for the Brussel sprouts for sure. The staff were amazing. Very knowledgeable about their dishes and considerate of the people with allergies or special dietary needs. They also keep you hydrated. Whenever my water go low, within 30-seconds, it was being refilled. Hot towels for your hands when done with your meal (upon request). I ordered the brussel sprouts, chicken egg rolls, and shrimp drunken noodles. Brussels were some of the best I've ever had. The chicken egg rolls were surprisingly filled with more chicken than veggies. Shrimp Drunken Noodles were tasty. A little more spice would've been nice. They served this whipped feta with the Naan bread that was really good. Our table wanted to put that on everything!

Modita has always been great! Recently revamped menu includes 5 or 6 more dishes while keeping the bangers. Great date spot with a warm environment with great service. The move here is to order 3 or 4 dishes and just share everything. Went with Pho Soup Dumplings, Pork Belly Bao Buns, and the Salmon Uramaki roll. All phenomenal. Make sure to hammer as much of the broth in the bottom of the soup dumpling bowl. Need to get back soon to try the new drunken noodles and udon!

Have you ever had food so good that it puts you in a good mood for the next few days? Well that was my experience at Modita. Everything was amazing - the atmosphere, the staff, and the FOOD. next level. We had a bit of everything: sushi, bao buns, miso soup, Mongolian beef, ube ice cream. Yum yum yum. I can't remember the name, but I got the tofu dish and substituted fried chicken, and it might have been one of the best things I've ever eaten. My husband and I came for our anniversary, and it was such a treat. We'll be back for our next big celebration! Highly recommend.

Busy Friday night but service was great. Be patient as food usually takes about 20-30 min to arrive. Food is really good. Some things can be hit or miss. My family loves this place. Vibes r good. Everything was tasty. They make it spicy upon request. Drunken noodles were really good. I like the chicken skewers as well. Great sauce.

Kimchi Kimbap Roll (EXACTLY how my Emo makes it)

This was a fun place to go! If you like Asian food they have a whole mix of stuff- Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Thai- but it's a fusion of flavors. The drink menu was fantastic! We had the Old Fashioned and Little Bee Appetizers were fantastic! Got the Edemame, Kimchi Kimbap Roll, Pho Soup Dumpling. The only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because IMO it's a little pricey and the Pork Belly Kimchi Fried Rice I ordered tasted delicious but didn't come as described (I didn't see a single snow pea, egg or bean sprout- there were a couple of tiny carrot cubes and pork belly). I would definitely recommend this spot. Good for special occasions, but not necessarily weekly dining.

Met a friend here for dinner. Both our first time. Made reservations and everyone was so friendly. Restaurant has a cool, hip and comfortable vibe. Service was amazing in every way all evening long. Shout out to Annabelle who was delightful in every way. There were so many things on the menu we wanted to try. The food was tremendous. Beautifully presented with unique flavors in several standout dishes. Portions were generous too. Chicken egg rolls were solid. The shrimp toast was fantastic and a delightful confluence of textures and flavors. The shrimp noodles dish was tasty. Pork belly baos were very good and filling. Super unique and yummy were the pho soup dumplings. The only mid dish was the garlic miso salad which just didn't hit as well as all the other stuff we got. We had a great evening! Highly recommend!

Food: I've been here a few times and even with the updated menu, the food is pretty tasty. I tasted the chicken egg rolls recently and they were perfect. I love the naan garlic bread and the sauces on the side. I shared some other foods w/frenz and they had chicken skewers, fried rice, broccoli and Brussel sprouts - we ate down! I tried dessert, the ube ice cream, for the first time and it was amazing Service: from host to server to even other people working the floor, everyone was polite and clear and very accommodating! Ambiance: it's a very dim lit place with pretty decor and since it's Asian cuisine, there were details that gave that cultural feel.

    Natalie V.

Food is absolutely amazing! The Mongolian beef noodles are so flavorful and delicious! The Bao buns are fluffy and definitely one of my top picks. We also tried the naan and that was wonderful. I've now tried a few of their sushi rolls and they're not my favorite. I would skip those and try some of the other menu items. We also enjoyed both the tandoori chicken and peanut sauce chicken! To finish we had the ube ice cream and that was one of the best ice creams I've had in my life. Definitely make a reservation. Drinks are also great, i love a dirty grey goose martini with blue cheese olives! Service is good.

The bao buns never disappoint! Still continues to be one of my favorite spots. I don't know what it is, but I really feel like I am out of town when I come here, ha. I tried the chicken egg rolls for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! They were packed with flavor, and I loved the sweet chilli dipping sauce that it came with. Yum. Get the ginger miso salad and thank me later! Service was great as always (shoutout to Joe), and cannot wait to be back.

    Tempura Shrimp Maki Roll
    Bradley J.

Really great experience here! We started with the Tempura Shrimp Maki Roll which we both thought was probably the best sushi we've ever had; the shrimp was incredible crunchy yet tasting fresh and still chewy. The Mongolian Beef Noodles fro her, and Kalbi Style Beef Short Rib + White Rice for myself. Both entries were incredibly good. The waitress, Chelsie, was great and helpful with this being our first time here giving us solid recommendations. Being inside of the old Coke building, this place is really charming! The lighting being dimmed with a lit candle, really hard to beat for a date night. 10/10

Our appetizers were good, so we ordered dinner. My husband's dinner came 10 minutes or more before mine & I had to ask for our soup and salads. We just kinda laughed it off. It was a pleasant surprise that when we got the bill, he did not charge us for the wine, but were told they don't take American Express. To top it off I left my to go box there I would get carry out, however won't dine in again.

The fish was so fresh, and you could genuinely taste the nori, which makes a huge difference. We branched out and tried the Kumamoto oysters too. Worth it. They're tinier than your typical oyster and came with a range of flavors from the seasonings and sauces. Honestly, we wish they'd been served more simply because we wanted to compare them to the ones we've had in Japan, and all the sauce made that tough. Still a fun order though. Skip the Seafood Pot, in our opinion. It tasted like Bird's Nest to us and just wasn't anything special compared to everything else. Bottom line: come for the sushi. It's the standout, and it's what'll bring us back. With ramen, hibachi, bubble tea, and a full bar also on the menu, there's plenty to explore on a return visit.

All of my loved ones were there to celebrate my birthday, and paired with such amazing food it made it a magical night. It was a Tuesday night and was fairly busy, but we passed any downtime chatting with each other and sipping on cocktails. The owner, Nara, is SO kind, sweet, gracious, I could go on and on. You can tell she really loves her job and running a business. The staff were so attentive for such a large party and made sure we always had fresh cocktails, water refills, and empty plates were removed promptly. We had vegetarians, peanut allergies, and picky eaters, but they accommodated everyone. I think my husband and I ended up splitting 5 sushi rolls total (still dreaming of them) and the table pretty much split multiple appetizers across the board. Everyone loved their cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. When I thanked Nara for such an amazing dinner and let her know it was my first time dining there and that it was my birthday she brought out a round of lychee sake shots for the table and started playing a happy birthday song throughout the restaurant. Literally almost cried because it was so sweet and thoughtful. The sake was crazy delicious and a hit for the whole table. The only *minor* downside was that each cocktail was made individually by what seemed to be just one bartender, so it took some time for drinks to come out. Again, otherwise a perfect meal, but keep that in mind and be patient for drinks to come out! My husband and I's favorite sushi haunt has always been Mori Sushi before now, but now I cannot wait to come back to Hasuno for more amazing appetizers and sushi rolls!!! Let's start with price- yes it's a little pricey. But I understand they are making up for the cost of the downtown location. Definitely a place to go on special occasions if your budget is not set up to splurge here. Would love to see a happy hour menu here so more people can try the food. Next is the quality of the food, which IMO, justifies the price. "Less is more" is so important when it comes to sushi rice. I love being able to get sushi and not feel so full because the minimally necessary amount of rice was used and doesn't leave you full after one roll. All of the special rolls we liked in the following order. 1) Bonfire 2) Orange Blossom 3) Cherry Blossom 4) Trish 5) Emperor 6)Thursday The miso soup was perfect and priced at $3. The drinks and gyoza were good too, but not too special. I would definitely save my appetizer/beverage $ for the rolls. We ordered smoked salmon, hamachi, and scallop sashimi. Scallop was our favorite for the sashimi, but all were amazing. The star (and priciest) of our dinner we did not capture, but it was the Maduro Nigiri. The quality was very good and fatty, I thought it tasted like Hara-naka. Service was great. No wait. 10 out of 10 recommend.

Note: I do substitute soy wrapper instead of seaweed and I add cream cheese to the tomago and sweet potato rolls. It's $2 extra but well worth it. As far as pricing goes, when you order DoorDash there is a slight up-charge, but it's still fair pricing. We got three rolls for $40 with tip and service fees. Three people ate, so overall not a bad deal. If you want to dine in, they do offer AYCE made to order appetizers and sushi.
