We tried Modo Mio for the first time and really liked the food. Would recommend giving them a try.

Tried this place for the first time. Placed an online order for pick up knowing that it would be for a later time. Scheduled pick up time for 5:45 PM. Received a text message at 5:25 PM that my order was ready. So by the time I could pick up my order the cold things were warm and the hot things were warm. The cold Italian sandwich was put on top of hot fries which made everything soggy. Also, if you're charging $4 for fries, there should be more than eight. We were really wanting to find a good Italian place that is not a chain, but maybe this just isn't it. Might consider trying again if we could pick up ASAP, but definitely would not do a later scheduled pick up again. read more

Absolutely incredible! A client raved about their amazing dishes, and we couldn't resist trying it for ourselves. We decided to treat our family to a night out, and we are so glad we did! We started with garlic knots that were freaking awesome! The Milano pizza that was a perfect blend of flavors- loved the black mushrooms, followed by Chicken Alfred, Crema Rosa, and meat sauce spaghetti. Everything was so delicious!!! The owner came out and chatted with us a bit and wanted to know how everything went with our meal. He then brought out a complimentary Wagyu meatball for us to try. We will definitely be ordering this again. This restaurant may be a hidden gem tucked away off Happy Valley & Lake Pleasant Parkway at four corners, but it deserves all the recognition it can get. We are excited to share this treasure with our friends and clients because it truly deserves to be tried. We've found our new favorite Italian restaurant, and we can't wait to return. I am a Chicago native and an Italian food snob, it been a challenge to find good Italian food in AZ, there are some Italian deli's and they are fantastic. Modo Mia was a great surprise and am so happy we tried it. I stayed basic with Spaghetti and meatballs, and my wife had the veal special. Both were very good and reminded me of home. I want to say I love this place... the food was definitely scrumptious, but sadly, the ordering/pickup experience was so far from perfection (not even close!). We placed an online order at 5-something PM for a 7:30 pickup. We live about 15 mins away so my husband got there in time and went with our 5 year old daughter, thinking this would be a quick and easy pickup. Paid for in advance, had a set pickup time... easy, right? Nope! Him and our daughter waited approximately 45 minutes! They didn't end up leaving with our order until around 8:15 that night. Granted I wasn't there personally, my husband told me no one apologized, no one offered anything to him or our young kid while waiting... nada! Am I overreacting? You to decide, but on Saturday nights, my husband and I have "date night in" so we order and pickup food and the kids are in bed by 8pm.... Definitely didn't work out that way since our order wasn't done until 8:15 and then he had to drive home and we worked to get three kids settled for the night. Not sure we will be back, anytime soon any way. read more

Went there for lunch. When I asked the server, who was apparently the owner, for a DOCG wine he didn't seem to know what that meant. Tipped me off right away it was not authentic Italian but Americanized. Ordered the carbonera and a Margherita pizza with wings. The carbonera is first off, nowhere near authentic, but probably one of the worst pasta dishes we have ever tasted. The pizza had chopped up.. maybe Roma tomatoes on it? It was thick and too cheesy and didn't even have basil on it. Surprisingly the wings were good. I still would choose other places over Modo Mio for wings though (Crazy Mikes is our go to). Weird that an Italian restaurants only good item we ate was wings. Just another mediocre California chain. read more

Let me start by saying I am NOT a person who leaves a review but our experience last night was great. Walking up my husband asked a man leaving if it was good and he said "it's alright" which I immediately groaned. Most places now days just aren't what they used to be and eating out is already an arm and a leg these days. The man then said "but I'm biased since I'm the owner." So extra points for a man with a sense of humor! We ordered their XL pizza and 16 wing deal (which we were going to order separately but the employee immediately informed us of the deal to save a few bucks), garlic knots and drinks. The pizza was perfectly cooked with light/airy yet crispy crust. The wings we asked to be extra crispy and they were huge wings - AMAZING. My 8 year old devoured the garlic knots without breathing. I also ordered a glass of wine since it was happy hour ($3 off a glass) which came as a very "heavy pour." So for $5 I was happy. All the staff were SO friendly and welcoming even as we walked in at 8pm (they closed at 9pm). Can't say better things about our experience. We definitely will be back! read more

We catered them for my Valentine party & the food was a hit. Everyone commented on how delicious everything was. The customer service was amazing. They brought the food on time & even contacted me the next day to make sure everything was good. We ordered large subs, lasagna, meatballs, spaghetti w/marinara sauce & gluten free pasta with marinara sauce. We are definitely ordering again & use them to cater our annual party. This is fine dining food but you order at the counter. It was our first time so we had a lot of questions about the menu but they were all very patient and helpful. I have a hard time finding baked rigatoni with sausage. They offer it with crumbled sausage or link slices. Tried the crumbled this time and it was so good that we are planning a second trip back to try the link style sausage. Garlic puffs are delicious, fresh with olive oil and roasted garlic. Wife had stuffed shells. Pasta was al dente and the marinara was very flavorful and fresh tasting. Clean tables and restaurant and the portion was right for the price. My family and I wanted to try it out. Walking in, the dining space was a wreck, with what looked like inventory for the back just stacked 3 foot high smack dab in the middle of the dining area. It kind of feels like they have an identity crisis, is it dine in, is it fast food, is it a NY sports themed restaurant/bar? We did come in just a few weeks after being opened so maybe there were bugs that needed to be worked out. The digital menu wasn't easy to navigate, and GOOD LORD the prices for what you ended up getting on your plate, outrageous. Overall the food was meh, not great but not terrible either. I will say the manager that evening was amazing, walking around asking everyone how things were, giving refills, asking if we needed anything else and taking attention to cleanliness (as best it could be). read more

My husband and I stopped by on a whim while we were out and about. We asked the young lady taking our order for recommendations and she was very helpful. We tried the garlic puffs and they were delicious! The roasted garlic and olive oil were fantastic with the soft puffs. Great new Italian restaurant that replaced a pizza place. They have a variety of pastas, pizza's and panini's. We tried two of the pasta dishes and both were delicious! One of the pastas was OGT(olive oil, garlic and tomatoes). The dish had the perfect amount of garlic and I will definitely have it again. My wife had the Pesto pasta and also agreed that it was one of the best she has had. My son had a Caesar salad and small pepperoni pizza. He felt the thin crust pizza really nailed the New York flavor and the salad was excellent as well. Almost forgot the incredible Garlic puffs( their version of garlic knots)! They were a great start to the meal with lots of garlic..Mmmmm! This is a small restaurant which is a pleasure to get away from the chains. Nice, cleanly, and cute place! We got table service and it was amazing. No long waits, fast refills, and fast to bring out food. The employees were all very kind. We got garlic puffs (my favorite), cheese pizza, fettuccine alfredo, ham and pineapple calzone, and their s'mores cannoli (monthly special). Everything was very impressive and tasty. Many of the entrees were customizable, which is awesome. Only slight disappointment was in the calzone, the ham was just the huge slices, not pre-cut so they were hard to eat and bite through.
