Fried calamari with marinara, spicy calabrian sauce and ranch (which I asked to be added, doesn't actually come with it)
    Kate L.

Really awesome Italian food and just what I was looking for. I will admit that Italian is NOT my favorite type of cuisine, but lately I have been wanting stuffed shells with ricotta and a meat sauce for some reason and what do you know? Modo Mio has it! We had also heard they had a really good hot honey pepperoni pizza and wanted to try that as well. Lastly, I wanted to try their friend calamari. We got all of those dishes (plus my husband got the carbonara) and it was all SO good! I really enjoyed my food and it was all so tasty and delicious. The calamari was stellar; it was not rubbery like some seafood can be. It was perfectly cooked and the spicy calabrian sauce was perfectly paired. I LOVED my stuffed shells! I know this might be dramatic but I almost cried when eating it because if you have ever thought about a meal and how you wanted it and then it lived up to expectations instead of being a downer, you KNOW how good of a feeling that is! The hot honey pizza was also really good. They have great ranch too and while I didn't get wings this time, it's on my list for next time because I think the ranch will pair very well with them. The vibes inside are nice and cozy and it is pretty casual, but I like that. The service was outstanding! I asked for a few modifications of things (no lemon wedge on the calamari, meat sauce added to the shells, ranch with the calamari, hot honey on half the pizza) and everything was correct! The server and the girl she was training were awesome too. They checked on us multiple times, chatted with us, made good conversation, and were just really kind and friendly and made the experience great. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend to others as well.

This place is a hidden gem The service is AWESOME!! Niki is so sweet and personable. She is on top of things and ensures the table is taken care of. The owner, is just as nice and personable sharing the story of how he opened up this restaurant. They are evolving and look forward to see what they do next. The food is flavorful and the ambience is very mellow and relaxed. The pizza was amazing. Really tasty. Loved the crust. The sangria was decent. The tables are a good distance and you don't feel crammed. The noise level is low so you aren't having to yell across the table. We will definitely be back.

A very nice experience overall! Quick service and a friendly demeanor, our waitress was fantastic at timing when to check in on us, and making some suggestions for our first visit. We decided to go with the Caprese as an appetizer, and then ordered the Chicken Parm / Bianca Pizza for our entrees. Everything was fantastic, came out hot and delicious. Definitely a place we'd recommend, and will be dining at again.

I was very impressed with this little Italian kitchen!! I ordered Chicken Parmesan, garlic bread and a key lime cannoli to go. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. It came with three large pieces! I got the Crema Rosa sauce which was good but not enough on the pasta for my preference. It was hard to truly taste it. The garlic bread was fantastic!! The cannoli was exceptional! Portions are large and the service is outstanding!! Currently you order at the counter but they are working toward full service. The place is clean and I'm absolutely going back again and again!!

This weekend we were all wanting something a bit different and trying to decide where we'd all be happy. Half my family always wants pizza and I'm just over it, but when I came across Modo Mio I knew there would be plenty of things to choose from. When we cloaked in it was empty. We were in between late lunch and start of dinner. Instantly we were told by a girl at the counter they don't do table service for lunch so we had to order at the counter. They do bring you the food etc though once ordered No big deal we sat with the menus as we decided. My husband and I always go back and forth about trying a meatball sub places, but I'm always on the fence as they just don't look or sound good to me. Today though after looking over fellow reviewers I kept seeing theirs over and over. To me that tells me it's going to be good. I ordered it off their lunch special with a side salad. We agreed if awful he'd split his personal pizza with me and eat the other half ha ha . Deal. We also ordered another personal pizza and more wings off the lunch special for my daughter. Well, too bad for my husband because I ate that entire meatball sub lol. The bread was toasted and a bit crispy, good sauce to meat ratio and cheese ooey and gooey. My side salad was fresh and I was glad my dressing came on the side so I could add as little or much as I wanted. Prices were fair for the lunch specials, Service was ok, but I'd of liked if they'd been a bit more friendly at walk in instead of the instant ...dining in, no table service comment.... Just a little better on how the tone came out, but that's my opinion. The location was clean. The vibe gave off more fast food but a little more upscale than fancy Italian . Parking was easy in and out. We'd go again. Maybe for dinner.,

While the service was adequate, the food more than made up for it and quickly became the highlight of the evening. We started with the Sicilian Strada Board, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Beautifully presented on an impressive five-foot board, it offered an abundant assortment of flavors and textures. From the perfectly crispy calamari and creamy polenta to Tomaso's signature meatballs, every item was thoughtfully prepared and incredibly flavorful. The artisanal cured meats and cheeses paired wonderfully with the bruschetta, Roman artichokes, Sicilian olives, and sweet fig jam, creating a memorable appetizer experience that was perfect for sharing. We also ordered the Cured Meat and Cheese Board, which was equally impressive. The selection of artisanal meats and cheeses was excellent, complemented by fresh grapes, grilled ciabatta, Roman artichokes, olives, and fig jam. Every bite felt carefully curated and highlighted the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. For my entrée, I chose the Cacio e Pepe, a classic dish executed beautifully. The freshly cracked black pepper and pecorino created a rich, velvety sauce that coated the pasta perfectly. Simple in concept yet incredibly satisfying, it was a wonderful example of how a few high-quality ingredients can create something truly outstanding. The cocktails were also exceptional--easily a 10/10. Expertly crafted, balanced, and delicious, they complemented the meal perfectly and elevated the overall dining experience. The Sicilian Butcher offers a vibrant atmosphere, generous portions, and food that genuinely impresses. While the service could have been a bit more attentive, the outstanding cuisine and phenomenal cocktails make this a restaurant I would happily return to again and again.

Service was exceptional - from wine recommendations to always having full water glasses. The evening began with an impressive charcuterie board featuring a generous assortment of cured meats, cheeses, olives, and antipasti. The variety was outstanding, offering everything from delicate prosciutto and salami to creamy spreads and tangy marinated vegetables. The board was beautifully arranged and encouraged sharing, conversation, and plenty of flavor exploration. The butternut squash ravoli were served in a rich cream sauce, it was indulgent and satisfying. The pasta was tender and well-filled, while the velvety sauce added a luxurious touch without overwhelming the dish. It was a hit. The orecchiette pasta showcased a more rustic side of Italian cooking. Combined with broccolini, spicy sausage, tomatoes, and a dusting of Parmesan, the dish offered a nice balance of savory, fresh, and earthy flavors. The pasta was perfectly cooked and hearty enough to stand on its own as a memorable entrée. The pizza delivered everything diners hope for from a traditional Italian pie: a beautifully blistered crust, vibrant tomato sauce, and generous toppings. The combination of olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and cured meats created layers of flavor, while the char on the crust suggested a properly hot oven and careful attention to technique. Dessert provided a fitting finale. The tiramisu was light and creamy with a generous dusting of cocoa, offering the classic coffee-and-mascarpone flavors that make it a perennial favorite. The diplomatico was a cream-filled pastry added a contrasting texture with its flaky layers and sweet filling, making it difficult to choose a favorite between the two. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, with low lighting that creates a comfortable dining experience. Portions were generous, presentation was appealing, and the menu demonstrated a commitment to traditional Italian flavors. This restaurant excels at delivering authentic Italian comfort food with quality ingredients and generous portions. The standout charcuterie board, flavorful pasta dishes, well-executed pizza, and exceptional desserts combine to create a memorable dining experience that would be easy to recommend for both casual dinners and special occasions.

My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.

The food, decor, and ambiance are fantastic. My family and I ate at L'Amore 2 nights in a row, and had we discovered it earlier in our vacation, we would have gone every single night (not kidding). While we've had equally delicious meals at other restaurants (all over the world), we have NEVER experienced such friendly, accommodating and welcoming service as what we received at L'Amore. I said to my husband "this must be what it feels like to be a member of a private club", and he agreed. We have an adult son with autism who will only eat a few dishes at restaurants. I called several restaurants to see if they serve chicken tenders and french fries; ALL of the restaurants we called said no-- until I called L'Amore. When I explained our situation, I was connected to the kitchen, explained our situation, and the chef immediately asked his staff if they had any potatoes to make french fries. (French fries are not on the menu). They said yes, and the chef said they'd be happy to make french fries for our son. When we arrived at L'Amore that evening, the owner/manager came by our table to welcome us. Our server, Sal, could not have been nicer, and addressed our son by his first name all evening. His co-manager assisted our son in accessing his iPad via their WiFi. When we returned the second night, the young male concierge welcomed us by name (even though we hadn't told him our name yet), and both managers visited our table that night. Sal was helpful in navigating the menu, recommended a wine by the glass that is typically only served as a bottle, and was incredibly kind and attentive all evening, without ever being intrusive. My husband and I were so moved by the kindnesses shown to our family. We'll never forget it, and look forward to returning to L'Amore on future vacations. Thank you, L'Amore for rekindling my faith in humanity.

The buffalo mozzarella had a bit of a kick to the sauce; we could have used more toasted bread to dip into it. We ordered the heaven and bianca pizzas. The crust was thinner than normal, which I was happy about, and the flavors of both were delicious. Dessert: despite not finishing the appetizers & pizza (no worries, we thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers!), we opted for a gelato flight. It was divine, and hefty samples. You wouldn't think 4 oz was much, but of gelato, it was plenty. We selected chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, and mango. If you haven't tried Roma 23, I highly recommend it. It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!
