They were able to finance me even being out of state and the vehicle being older. Worst part of the experience was the salesman, I had been communicating with, did not show up the day we had planned to meet AND had misquoted my APR. BUT they made it right by lowering the price to make up for the difference. When the salesman was a no show, Allen (a different salesperson) was quick, courteous, professional and zero pressure to buy extras. Thanks for the great experience!

I test drove it and it drove great. I ended up purchasing it straight out cash because I didn't want payments but I don't have enough to get any type of warranut they only offered me one for 3 months that was 250 and I didn't hav anymore money after buying the van. he knew I had to drive back 40 min home with kids so for that fact knowing what was wrong with the car is so beyond shady to me. Like are you a dad? How would u feel if that was your kids and mother of your kids you should be ahead of yourself . I get home It drive great the whole way I put it in park after turning into my parking spot and a light comes on that says EPS BAS and I was like hmm that's strange I'm a girl so I didn't even know what that meant. I turn the car off and turn it back on to see if it and t away and the car would no go it of gear. Now it's stuck in park with that light on my dash and I litterally drive it for 30 min before not being able to use it after paying 5200 cash for this van. I have never felt so ashamed and scammed in my life. I'm a single mother and bow I have no way to work I have no money for a car and I have a car I can't fix that I just bought. I'm so sad and I hope people are bangle to see the lot for who they are so they don't get scammed. I would hate for another person to feel how I'm feeling right now. I hope karma finds its way to them because I'm just out of luck and there's nothing I can do about it.

We first looked at a 2018 Civic on the Subaru lot, but my daughter wanted to look at other options (wasn't set on a Civic). The good thing about the Capitol setup, is they have Chevrolet and Toyota right there, so we were able to go look at quite a few other newer used car options. We drove a 2022 Kia Forte, as well as a 2018 Chevy Cruze LT RS, and liked both of them better than the Civic -- they both had a lot lower miles, and were quieter on the road. We never felt any pressure from either sales associate, and felt they were very helpful in finding us viable options. We took a break to go get some lunch while we did research on the vehicles, then came back to work out a deal for the Cruze with Cameron and company. All of the associates involved with the deal mentioned several extended warranty options, but given the fact that the car only had 31K miles, was regularly serviced next door at the Chevy dealer, and got good reliability ratings from several consumer agencies, we declined. The finance guy pressured a little harder, and was on the verge of being a jerk about it, but I stood my ground and left without any add-ons. I'm fine with that. The overall atmosphere inside the dealership is laidback, with an inviting waiting area stocked with snacks and water. As far as used car buying experiences go, I rate this one pretty highly. Thanks, Gavin & Cameron, for making it that way.

Capitol Subaru had my 2015 Outback for two weeks for CVT issues. In the end the best they could do…read morewas confirm there was a problem and that the FIRST STEP would be to replace the torque converter and oil at $3,310. Then, if that didn't fix the issue, they would replace the valve body at $2,500, and then, if that didn't fix the problem, they would replace the entire transmission to the tune of $11,000. Now, if they can't pinpoint the problem why would we pay over $16,000 to repair an 11-year-old car with 81,000 miles on it? Proper diagnostics are key, but they just wanted to throw parts at it. Oh, and BTW, Subaru of America wouldn't help because we were out of the extended warranty period by one year on a KNOWN CVT problem. Never again Subaru

Everyone did their part to make sure my new vehicle was in flawless shape and ready for me the day I arrived for pickup. Overall despite me being from out of town, the folks at Capitol Toyota went above and beyond to treat me right, they never put a foot wrong and there were no pushy sales tactics or shady nonsense. Whether you're local to Salem or out of state, Billy and the rest of the staff at Capitol Auto Group are hands down the people to see if you want a pleasant, hassle-free car buying experience! This was hard to write a negative review on a couple young guys trying to make something for…read morethemselves but I felt like I needed to based on my experience this morning. To keep from making this too lengthy, I'll just give you guys some advise: When someone calls on a vehicle to make sure there won't be any surprises, be honest. The tires (especially the front) where in horrific shape, the body on the rear passenger side had some recent shoddy work done to it with a satin finish on a high gloss truck. Kinda stood out. Jimmy rigged wiring to a navigation system that no longer worked, and a thousand more miles than listed after only "3 weeks" of owning it. I asked Victor 3 times how long he was working from that specific location. He said 18mo. I immediately asked again and he said, "well, like a year". I said that I knew they had only been in the building for a bit over 2 months and he replied, "well, it's more than 2 but maybe like 8 or something." I specifically asked and was specifically told everything was working great and there would be no surprises. There was some more stuff but I don't feel like writing it all. The moral of the story is to be upfront and I could have delt with it for a better price or just not wasted either of our time.

So first and foremost: I did not buy from here nor have I used the service department. However, I…read moream strongly considering it based on my (one time) experience and here's why: My partner and I are about to be in need of a new vehicle as my 2010 Toyota is starting to have issues that are more expensive than they're worth to fix. We still have life in it, though, so we're not in a hurry to take on a new car payment. I had long assumed I'd just go with another Toyota Tundra, but I read an article in the Detroit Free Press (Go Lions! #DetroitVsEverybody) that reviewed the 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV Hybrid. It was an amazingly glowing review. While out and about one day, the subject came up and, having nothing else to do, we headed over to the dealership to see if they had one we could check out. As it was, Roberson Motors had Wrangler Rubicon on-site that was a hybrid. It was a top of the line model with pretty much every feature, but the bones of it were what we wanted. Upon arrival, we were immediately approached by a young man who introduced himself as Hayden. He asked what our purpose for stopping by was and, when we told him, he led us directly to the 2024 Wrangler EV model that we were hoping to look at. We took a brief walk around the vehicle and when I asked to do a test drive, he went inside and was back out within a couple of minutes with the keys. He tossed me the fob and said, "Knock yourself out." I'm not reviewing the vehicle so I'll leave that out. However, my partner (who'd driven a few Jeeps in her life over some pretty rough roads) commented that the noise volume was much less than she remembered. She asked if we could extend the drive a bit and go on I-5 where we could really see what freeway noise was like. Hayden responded enthusiastically and we took off. The whole ride, my partner and I talked back and forth about various features and what we thought, but Hayden didn't interrupt or try to sell us on anything. He just hung out and answered any questions we had. Impressively, when he didn't know an answer, he told us right away he wasn't sure, then looked up the information before responding. I really appreciated that, quite a bit. When we got back to the dealership, my partner excused herself momentarily and I hung back with Hayden. He asked where we were in our car search and I told him we were literally in the first day of considering our options. He asked my thoughts on the Jeep and, while I liked it, the trim level was significantly more than I really wanted (including the price). Hayden's response was to immediately go and look up if any other models were slated to come in, with fewer features. He came back almost immediately with several options and offered to text me the information when they arrived. Now, I realize that this was one way to get my customer info on his phone, however he didn't try to do the ole "what will it take to get you into this car today..." kind of thing, nor did he try to talk up the ultra-features on the car on-site. But here's what really stood out to us, and what will bring us back to Roberson Motors, and Hayden in particular, if we choose to go the Jeep route. My partner had some questions on various features and models. Every question she asked, Hayden looked her directly in the eyes and answered them. He didn't talk to me, he didn't downplay, and he didn't talk superficial features only. So many times my partner, who is small and very feminine, will try to talk to salespeople and she'll get the "little lady" treatment. This has happened at gun stores, archery rangers, car dealerships, health clubs, gyms, everywhere. Hayden answered her, not me, and was thorough and complete with the answers to her questions. Later I sent Hayden a quick text, thanking him for his time and asking him to keep me informed when the new models get in. He responded fairly quickly and that was that; I haven't had a sales call from him yet and it's been a few weeks now. He really seemed to respect that we were not in the mood to buy yet, but still took the time to answer all your questions for the time when we are. He also treated my partner like a customer, not an accessory, and that's more rare than some people would think. I've noticed a lot of negative reviews for the service department, and I can't speak to that. I never use dealership service departments myself anyways; I have several good mechanics for whatever services I need that aren't dealer-related. However, when we get more serious about car buying, and when we more actively compare Jeeps to the other vehicles we're interested in, I'll definitely be contacting Hayden and ask to set up a time to work with him.
