I was recommended this salon by a friend who books exclusively with Spring (the owner). While her work is solid, I don't think she upholds that same standard across the salon or with the employees she hires. Before booking, I sent in the design I wanted and was recommended to book Layla. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with both her work and her attitude during the appointment. I left with long-term damage to my nails from over-drilling (the worst part), along with very unclean line work, polish on my cuticles and skin, thick and uneven coats, and splotchy airbrush work (I was charged $100 + tip for this). She spent 30 minutes trying to find the right colors and ultimately could only get "close enough." I ended up having to compromise on every single color, and the set was starting to look very incohesive. They continued trying to force colors on me for the rest of the design that weren't a good match instead of acknowledging they didn't have the proper ones. At that point, it was clear the design I wanted wasn't happening. I asked if we could remove it and pick something simpler. Her attitude noticeably shifted as she aggressively filed off the previous work and caused SO MUCH damage to my nail beds. My nails are now tender to the touch in some spots and it will take many months to grow out the damage. The simpler design (which they also said was "easy" and they could do) required airbrushing. The machine wasn't working properly and kept coming out splotchy. She repeatedly asked if it was "okay" before finally attempting to fix and clean the machine. When it came to line work, it was also messy and not crisp. I had to point out multiple areas that needed fixing, which is concerning since those are things a nail tech should be able to catch on their own. There was also areas that were bulky from uneven application of polish which she didn't fix and said was "ok after top coat" . Overall, it felt like she was trying to get away with the lowest level of work that a customer will accept. After the appointment I reached out 3 times over the course of a week to the business phone number and received no response. I eventually contacted Spring directly and heard back a few days later. I was offered $20 "as a gesture," which honestly felt insulting given the damage and overall low quality experience. It seems like they knew I wasn't coming back anyway so there was no point in doing the right thing. Only after I declined (as I would prefer to warn people with an honest review) did she offer $50 which is still below even half my total bill. It doesn't feel fair to charge customers for services when the mark was not met for ALL of them (gel manicure, airbrush, and design) let alone additional nail damage. This experience made it clear where Layla and MOI Nail's quality bar is and how little care is put into making things right.

My first time coming to this location for Moi Nails and it was such a great locations Took my mum here for us to get our nails done before my big birthday party Mylee did an amazing job with my gelx and did the design I wanted to a tee. Mimi also did an awesome job with my deluxe pedicure Given that we came on a Sunday, the parking out front was so easy and free. This salon is located Westwood Blvd where there are tons of good food options and 99 Ranch Market (my fave) within walking distance. The salon itself is spacious, clean and they offer complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. The staff is so friendly. Heads up in terms of payment they only accept, cash, Zelle or Venmo. I'll definitely be coming back for my fill with Mylee...can't wait!

Came to get my birthday nails done and Kyle got me right! They couldn't color match exactly but he found a way to make it come together even better than my reference photo. First time here and forever coming back. A spacious location makes it easy to relax. 10/10

I really hate having to write this review because I've been to this salon many times and usually have great experiences. For context I go about every 3 weeks. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and honestly painful and I cannot see myself going back. The technician who did my Gel-X manicure should not be performing nail services at this time. During the service, he aggressively over-trimmed and stripped my cuticles until they were raw. He cut me with the cuticle nippers and didn't even notice that I was bleeding. At one point, he pulled a piece of skin instead of cutting it properly, which caused more bleeding. My cuticles are now incredibly raw and inflamed. He also dropped the gel remover directly onto my finger, and it burned my skin. By the end of the appointment, my hands hurt more than they ever have after a manicure. Day two, my cuticles are incredibly raw, red and inflamed. To top it off, when I went to pay, the credit card machine automatically defaulted to the highest tip option. Under normal circumstances I'm a good tipper, but after that experience, it felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. I'm really disappointed because I've liked this salon for a long time. I hope they this feedback seriously and provides proper training, because no one should leave a manicure in pain.

I had a really disappointing experience here. My nail tech, Miley, was unprofessional from the start, she had an attitude throughout the service and was impatient and anytime I gave her feedback it seemed like she just got more irritated. At the beginning, I clearly asked for my cuticles and the sides of my nails to be cleaned up. She mentioned it would be an additional $8, which I agreed to. However, she never did it during the proper prep stage. When I brought it up at the end, she tried to go back and do it after the nails were already finished, which is completely backwards and not how a proper manicure should be done. On top of that, the nail shape came out uneven, and she wasn't able to execute a French tip properly. I ended up settling for a nude base with chrome, but overall I left unhappy with the quality of my nails. It's especially frustrating because I came here based on their Instagram, and the work looked great. I was really hoping to find a quality salon closer to home, but unfortunately this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I do want to note that Lauren, who did my pedicure, was kind and professional, and the nail tech who worked with my 3-year-old daughter was also very sweet.

The heart and the 'cateye' is just sparkly, nothing shifts!

This was my third time at MOI nails and it was my second time being disappointed. I came in asking for a few designs including a cateye in the shape of a heart and blush base with cateye french tips on hard gel. On the phone, I was told it could be done and when I showed my nail tech she said she could do it. When it came time to execute, she pulled out many different magnetic tools (even one specifically for making hearts) and could not do it. She ended up asking me if there were any other designs I wanted to which I asked if they could do a silver 3D heart by showing a picture of it and once again she said yes and began doing it. She took out the material to do it which was completely solid white when in the picture it was opaque and silver. Basically you can see the pictures showing they don't match sizes and they're crooked and uneven. They're completely solid and painted silver too.. The set would've been better without them but actually the cateye polish is not even making a cateye effect, it's just sparkly... I wanted to leave because at this point I knew I would have to get this fixed. I just wish they could've told me from the beginning it's not something they were capable of doing but now I spent 3 hours and 100$+ on my weekend to have to redo this tomorrow. In addition, my tech was rushed because they sat a girl down next to me who had been waiting for a tech for almost an hour. The front desk guy kept coming to ask my tech if she was done and pressuring her (in Vietnamese, which they didn't know I understood). There were other staff telling my tech when she consulted them that it was fine to continue as long as I wasn't complaining, which means they knew it wasn't satisfactory. I think the service here is ok but the transparency is terrible and the skills of the techs vary. 2/3 times disappointed so I won't be back.

I never leave yelp reviews, but the service here was so terrible I need to! We had an appointment for a regular polish mani / pedi at 4:30 and didn't get seated till 5. They did our toes first, and finished around 5:30. The lady doing my toes tried to tell me that the polish she just took off my toes was gel, which was not, in order to try and upcharge me $17. It was clearly regular polish. By the time they had finished my toes, it was 5:30, and they still had not started my hands, nor did they even begin my hands until 6:10!! What a waste of my evening!! They were being extremely rude, we kept asking when someone would come do our manicure and the front desk lady had a new excuse every time as to why it was taking over an hour for someone to come start our regular manicure. They were extremely rude when we asked about waiting times and did not apologize at all. We were there for over 2 hours and the colors were wrong and the manicure itself was unsatisfactory. updated They said in the comments "please call me again". I asked them beforehand about the nails and if I would be charged again, but they charged me $5 off and $10 off discount. They always ignore the customer's contact, doubt them, and never apologize. It was pressured being surrounded by three people. If they don't have any intention to apologize or fix my nails from the beginning, please don't call me back to the salon. I want my time back. I will never go again. update:The staff said to call me back, but I have already sent them a text and a message on yelp, but they have been ignored. I didn't feel they were being sincere. Disappointing. I ordered a one-color gel nail. Usually, this nail lasts for more than two weeks, but this time, air got inside the nail the next day, and the gel nail was floating off the nail. I inquired about it, but there was no reply. I was about to go on a trip, so I had to spend the time with my nails like that, which was a pain. It seems that the quality varies depending on the nail artist. I hope there is a follow-up. read more

I understand the wait time, but two hours was a bit overkill. On top of that the nail technician was not very helpful when I explained what I wanted and she didn't understand what I asked for. My nails have literally chipped the very next day. Very disappointing since it was a little overpriced, and this is the first time I had been there. Sadly I couldn't go back to get them fixed since I was visiting from out of town. read more

She's detail oriented and does a great job shaping the nail. I get hard gel and my nails hold up at least 3-4 weeks. The salon is really cute and service is great. I honestly would not recommend if you're looking for consistent results. Sometimes they'll do an okay job and sometimes they won't. I paid 80 dollars for a gel x set and expect it to be thorough. I experienced an uneven nail paint job to the point where air bubbles are visible on my set. I had to really advocate for my nails to be evenly rounded and I don't think I'll be coming here again. read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to in 20 years of getting my nails done. I called to make an appointment on a Saturday at noon. When I showed up I had to wait an hour for someone to start my nails. What is the point of making an appointment if they are not even honored? Such a waste of my time. The owner began working on my nails before I was passed off to someone else. They both were working so quickly it was giving me anxiety. Like take a breath and actually check what you're doing. From start to finish, my acrylic fill took 30 min. I've never had this done in under an hour. This isn't a positive. So many steps were missed and my nails looked bumpy and uneven. Not even 24 hours later one of my nails completely broke off. This has never happened to me before. I went back in to get it fixed and the girl wanted to put a gel x nail over my broken acrylic. I was like surely you must be joking. How am I supposed to get that filled. I had to ask three times to do it properly with acrylic. After she put on a new nail she cut it too short and it didn't match the length of the rest of my nails. Such a joke! $80 for the worst acrylic fill of my life. Yikes. How is this place in business. What a wonderful experience at MOI Nails. I wanted something special for my trip to NOLA for the Essence Festival. We cover the fest with our podcast, so I showed Kaylie the logo and asked her to do nail art that would go with the logo. Got this beautiful GelX with hombre purple/pink and I absolutely love it! I'm not too sure what happened here but I booked an appointment for gel x with design. The first design I asked for they couldn't do even though I found the picture on your page. Why would you have someone service me that didn't know how to do designs if I booked an appointment for it? And then why didn't someone who knew how to do designs help me when the other person didn't? I am super disappointed in this service, I appreciate the guy that helped me but it just didn't seem right for him to be doing my nails when I booked an appointment specifically for gel x with a design. read more

Love the quality of work. But honestly every single time i come here it's understaffed and have to wait. Sitting here now as a walk in and was told 15 min wait. It's been 45 min before anyone has done my nails. Getting a pedicure and was told by the girl at the front sorry. Usually we do Peds and mani separately. Total lie. I'm here every 2 weeks and get them done together. Also asked why I was told 15 min when it's been 40. She said sorry just didn't know. Now I have to leave having only had my pedi and no mani. Have an appt across town In 30 mins. Not ideal. Disappointed and for the cost they charge for nails here I'm finding a new place sadly. read more

Taking a star off due to wait time. Nails by spring is still my go to but I have to say that I've waited 30 minute to an hour every time I have come in, on time, with an appointment. That part is a major con and disappointment. The staff remains incredible and friendly, but just out of respect for my time, I wish they would better manager their client schedules and be realistic with timing when taking appointments and/or not over book. I would rather have my appointment pushed to when I can actually be seen versus arrive on time but sit and wait for an hour past my appointment. I understand things happen but this has occurred the past few times I have gone so I thought it was worth noting. read more

I asked her to be really careful because I was getting it done for close up on camera work holding products so I was a bit disappointed that she cut me. I've been going to Spring's original location for over a year and was super excited to hear about her new location. I recently moved to a new part of LA and the new location is a little closer to me--yay! The new space is big, bright, and gorgeous! I'm sure it's going to be as packed as the original in no time :) I used to always see Spring and Ray and let me tell you. They DO NOT MISS. I always leave with such a great set. They always do such a fantastic job at replicating the inspo pics I come in with or with other ideas I have in my head. I get my nails done here for festivals, my birthday, Valentine's day, other special events, etc. Let's be real I pretty much come every month (yes they last that long!) for something new. I'm excited to meet more of the staff at the new location now that it will be my new regular spot! Congrats Spring on all the success--can't wait to see it continue! read more

MOI does it again! I've now brought all the people in my circle to MOI. the consistency, the quality, the service; it really cannot be beat on the west side! My partner and I booked a last minute appointment for a basic mani pedi no polish. but getting seated and seeing all the fun options available made us jealous, so we asked if we could get something more fun! they were so sweet, so flexible, getting us in for the new expanded service within 30 minutes. my partner and i both were treated by some of the best nail specialists they have, Travis, Kaylie, Eva, Kamee! I found my permanent nail place! I took my boyfriend's sister to get our nails done for her birthday and I am so impressed. My nails not only were done so quickly, but they look AMAZING! My boyfriend even asked me if these are my real nails (they're gel x). The design, the color, everything looks so good!!! While this place is cute, and the staff is sweet, I have found them to not be thorough. Got my first GelX "manicure" here about a month ago. Three of my nails were cured on crooked. When I pointed it out to the technician, she assured me that she could shape them straight. Not only did this not happen, I also didn't get any additional care to my actual nails. Because she was kind, I just paid and left with whatever. Hoping to fix this at my next appointment, I called and went in. Again, with this being my first fill in, I asked if just getting a new set was the solution. And was willing to do this. Multiple times, I was told that the fill in could fix things. This time, I did get the manicure portion, but the crooked nails could not be fixed with just a fill in. Additionally, this place prides itself on designs, and when I came in with an idea, I was encouraged to just get plain color. Out of frustration, I just let them do whatever, paid, and decided to not come back. They are kind, and I thought they were trying to save me money. I realize now that they were just trying to get me in and get me out. So out I'll stay. read more

On top of everything, the set she got was ugly and poor quality, just like mine (see pics). Ladies, be so careful around that nail tech. He is not one of the girls. It's even more alarming that he's the owner. I can only imagine how he conducts himself with his all female staff in the off hours. Edit: Patrick, please don't lie about this. I was there. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I can't even begin to describe the absolute disaster that was my trip to the nail salon. As a gay Persian man, I was looking forward to some much-needed self-care, but what I got was a slap in the face - both literally and figuratively. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was met with disdainful glances and whispered insults. And then there was Spring, the nail technician assigned to me. From the get-go, they made it clear that they had no respect for me or my boundaries. As Spring worked on my nails, they didn't hold back on the lewd comments and inappropriate advances. It was like they saw me as nothing more than a plaything, something to be used and discarded at their whim. When I finally mustered the courage to tell them to stop, they laughed it off like it was some kind of joke. And the quality of the service? Don't even get me started. I'm beyond furious about my experience at this salon. The pedicurist who worked on me was completely unprofessional and careless. She rushed through the prep, skipped essential steps, and offered zero care or attention. I had a blister on my foot from wearing heels, and I clearly told her to be gentle and avoid the area. Not only did she ignore my request, but she also handled my foot roughly and even sprayed alcohol directly onto the open wound. Are you serious? She had no idea how to do the cat-eye polish I asked for and had to get another technician to show her how. If you don't know how to do a certain style, don't offer it! The next day, my foot was severely inflamed because of her reckless treatment. This isn't just bad service--it's dangerous. The first time, they claimed it was a mistake. The second time, I was forced to call from another number, only to be refused service. Came here on a recommendation from my friend. Tom did my nails and I love them, but when I got outside, I noticed there was an issue with the topcoat separating making bumps on the nail. I went back in and showed it to them and he got to work fixing it but the same problem happened again. I had a disappointing experience at Moi Nail Salon by spring . I had a 4:30 appointment, but wasn't taken until 4:55. When I mentioned this, the front desk person, Max, rudely told me that appointments don't guarantee service at that time--they just know you're coming. This isn't the first time I've had to wait, either. To make matters worse, the nail tech did a poor job with my hard gel, leaving them bulky and uneven, as if I had fake nails. I couldn't stop admiring my nails, the polish was so glittery, like that deep-starry-space glittery. With the perfect glossy shine. So many dimensions in this gel. And only $10 more. Altogether I paid $66 (incl tip!) and it was more than worth it. My new favorite nail place. I traveled 1.5-2hrs to get my nails done here and was late to my appointment but they understood as it was rush hour.
