I don't tend to leave negative reviews because I'm really not that picky, but please please read this before booking here. I had been coming to this nail salon for about two years. I'll say this first: they can do pretty finishing work on nails. However, basic manicure care is rarely included unless you specifically ask for it, and even then, sometimes they'd not do it. This last visit was the final straw. Not only did my nails not come out well aesthetically, but the hard gel application was extremely bulky and uneven. Within days, my nails started lifting, chipping, and developing air bubbles. The same day I got them done, I let someone at the front desk know I was unhappy and asked if I could either have them redone or receive a refund. I was told no to both. I eventually went to a private nail tech recommended by a friend, and the removal process alone took FOUR hours because of how much product had been layered on. I also found out they had applied hard gel directly over an old Gel-X set that I had repeatedly asked them to remove, but they never did. Most concerning of all, my right index fingernail had turned partially green because water had gotten trapped between my natural nail and the hard gel, putting me at risk for an infection. Please please please be careful going here. Every appointment always felt rushed, like they were trying to get clients in and out as quickly as possible. I kept returning simply because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new salon, and I genuinely regret it. After finally seeing a different nail tech, I learned that my cuticles had been severely neglected for a long time, my nail beds had experienced trauma, and even the dryness of my hands likely stemmed from the way my nails had been handled over the years. Again, they can create pretty-looking nails at first glance, but the long-term damage and lack of proper nail care simply aren't worth it. Take care of your hands ladies

I was recommended this salon by a friend who books exclusively with Spring (the owner). While her work is solid, I don't think she upholds that same standard across the salon or with the employees she hires. Before booking, I sent in the design I wanted and was recommended to book Layla. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with both her work and her attitude during the appointment. I left with long-term damage to my nails from over-drilling (the worst part), along with very unclean line work, polish on my cuticles and skin, thick and uneven coats, and splotchy airbrush work (I was charged $100 + tip for this). She spent 30 minutes trying to find the right colors and ultimately could only get "close enough." I ended up having to compromise on every single color, and the set was starting to look very incohesive. They continued trying to force colors on me for the rest of the design that weren't a good match instead of acknowledging they didn't have the proper ones. At that point, it was clear the design I wanted wasn't happening. I asked if we could remove it and pick something simpler. Her attitude noticeably shifted as she aggressively filed off the previous work and caused SO MUCH damage to my nail beds. My nails are now tender to the touch in some spots and it will take many months to grow out the damage. The simpler design (which they also said was "easy" and they could do) required airbrushing. The machine wasn't working properly and kept coming out splotchy. She repeatedly asked if it was "okay" before finally attempting to fix and clean the machine. When it came to line work, it was also messy and not crisp. I had to point out multiple areas that needed fixing, which is concerning since those are things a nail tech should be able to catch on their own. There was also areas that were bulky from uneven application of polish which she didn't fix and said was "ok after top coat" . Overall, it felt like she was trying to get away with the lowest level of work that a customer will accept. After the appointment I reached out 3 times over the course of a week to the business phone number and received no response. I eventually contacted Spring directly and heard back a few days later. I was offered $20 "as a gesture," which honestly felt insulting given the damage and overall low quality experience. It seems like they knew I wasn't coming back anyway so there was no point in doing the right thing. Only after I declined (as I would prefer to warn people with an honest review) did she offer $50 which is still below even half my total bill. It doesn't feel fair to charge customers for services when the mark was not met for ALL of them (gel manicure, airbrush, and design) let alone additional nail damage. This experience made it clear where Layla and MOI Nail's quality bar is and how little care is put into making things right.

Absolutely killed it again! I requested Stella and she did an amazing job and always provides such kind and lovely vibes. All the workers have the same vibe, super kind and attentive!! Always love coming here and they always do so well with my short nails!! Gel x with cat eye and chrome details with small gems!! She always makes sure to charge my phone or put it on a stand for me so I can watch my podcasts hehe.

As always, love Spring and who else she holds here to work her magical nails. Today I had had my girl Chelsea and was introduced to Loanne for pedicure the first time! She was extremely gentle and great. It's been about a year for the pedicure as I'm recovering from a stroke since last October. Spring and her team never misses beat!!! Great atmosphere and vibe. The music had me shazam OOOfii. Never heard of them, but the music was great! Loves this place!

My first time coming to this location for Moi Nails and it was such a great locations Took my mum here for us to get our nails done before my big birthday party Mylee did an amazing job with my gelx and did the design I wanted to a tee. Mimi also did an awesome job with my deluxe pedicure Given that we came on a Sunday, the parking out front was so easy and free. This salon is located Westwood Blvd where there are tons of good food options and 99 Ranch Market (my fave) within walking distance. The salon itself is spacious, clean and they offer complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. The staff is so friendly. Heads up in terms of payment they only accept, cash, Zelle or Venmo. I'll definitely be coming back for my fill with Mylee...can't wait!

I really hate having to write this review because I've been to this salon many times and usually have great experiences. For context I go about every 3 weeks. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and honestly painful and I cannot see myself going back. The technician who did my Gel-X manicure should not be performing nail services at this time. During the service, he aggressively over-trimmed and stripped my cuticles until they were raw. He cut me with the cuticle nippers and didn't even notice that I was bleeding. At one point, he pulled a piece of skin instead of cutting it properly, which caused more bleeding. My cuticles are now incredibly raw and inflamed. He also dropped the gel remover directly onto my finger, and it burned my skin. By the end of the appointment, my hands hurt more than they ever have after a manicure. Day two, my cuticles are incredibly raw, red and inflamed. To top it off, when I went to pay, the credit card machine automatically defaulted to the highest tip option. Under normal circumstances I'm a good tipper, but after that experience, it felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. I'm really disappointed because I've liked this salon for a long time. I hope they this feedback seriously and provides proper training, because no one should leave a manicure in pain.

I had a really disappointing experience here. My nail tech, Miley, was unprofessional from the start, she had an attitude throughout the service and was impatient and anytime I gave her feedback it seemed like she just got more irritated. At the beginning, I clearly asked for my cuticles and the sides of my nails to be cleaned up. She mentioned it would be an additional $8, which I agreed to. However, she never did it during the proper prep stage. When I brought it up at the end, she tried to go back and do it after the nails were already finished, which is completely backwards and not how a proper manicure should be done. On top of that, the nail shape came out uneven, and she wasn't able to execute a French tip properly. I ended up settling for a nude base with chrome, but overall I left unhappy with the quality of my nails. It's especially frustrating because I came here based on their Instagram, and the work looked great. I was really hoping to find a quality salon closer to home, but unfortunately this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I do want to note that Lauren, who did my pedicure, was kind and professional, and the nail tech who worked with my 3-year-old daughter was also very sweet.

My girlfriend took us to this place. I wanted to get me a pedicure. Us men can get are feet done too. Except, I did not get my toes polished, lol, But she had some nails and feet done. These women are awesome. My feet felt good after a deep healthy cleaning. I felt like I was leaving a massage parlor. Nice place with the best professionals. So sad to be writing this because my first few experiences were really good but I went in today to get my builder gel removed and the service was so poor. They were clearly annoyed when I said I also didn't want a pedicure but my nails needed a break so I just wanted a basic mani . They kept trying to get me to choose a color when they were doing my nails-- how can I look at colors when they have my hands? And I felt so rushed. Then the girl who did my manicure did such a rushed job filing my nails, too and they are different lengths. Then the paint job... it honestly looks like a 5 year old did them. I called out that they were streaky and she said "yeah they're streaky because the nail is uneven." Like what? You did my nails? Why wouldn't she suggest adding another coat or another color? This is such a perfect place for nails. The manicurists and pedicurists are super patient, and the owner Spring is super nice and really a pro of manicures - she helps me fix one of my nails, and after a week my nails still look perfect. Price is very affordable and they are very efficient and easy to book appointments. I love how they have everything transparent and clearly stated on their IG page. The environment is also aesthetic and comfy, so definitely a go-to spot for nails in the West LA area! read more

updated They said in the comments "please call me again". I asked them beforehand about the nails and if I would be charged again, but they charged me $5 off and $10 off discount. They always ignore the customer's contact, doubt them, and never apologize. It was pressured being surrounded by three people. If they don't have any intention to apologize or fix my nails from the beginning, please don't call me back to the salon. I want my time back. I will never go again. update:The staff said to call me back, but I have already sent them a text and a message on yelp, but they have been ignored. I didn't feel they were being sincere. Disappointing. I ordered a one-color gel nail. Usually, this nail lasts for more than two weeks, but this time, air got inside the nail the next day, and the gel nail was floating off the nail. I inquired about it, but there was no reply. I was about to go on a trip, so I had to spend the time with my nails like that, which was a pain. It seems that the quality varies depending on the nail artist. I hope there is a follow-up. read more

What a wonderful experience at MOI Nails. I wanted something special for my trip to NOLA for the Essence Festival. We cover the fest with our podcast, so I showed Kaylie the logo and asked her to do nail art that would go with the logo. Got this beautiful GelX with hombre purple/pink and I absolutely love it! Spring - the owner - was working next to me and she was really friendly and welcoming. I made an appointment but they take walk ins too. Great experience all around! read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to in 20 years of getting my nails done. I called to make an appointment on a Saturday at noon. When I showed up I had to wait an hour for someone to start my nails. What is the point of making an appointment if they are not even honored? Such a waste of my time. The owner began working on my nails before I was passed off to someone else. They both were working so quickly it was giving me anxiety. Like take a breath and actually check what you're doing. From start to finish, my acrylic fill took 30 min. I've never had this done in under an hour. This isn't a positive. So many steps were missed and my nails looked bumpy and uneven. Not even 24 hours later one of my nails completely broke off. This has never happened to me before. I went back in to get it fixed and the girl wanted to put a gel x nail over my broken acrylic. I was like surely you must be joking. How am I supposed to get that filled. I had to ask three times to do it properly with acrylic. After she put on a new nail she cut it too short and it didn't match the length of the rest of my nails. Such a joke! $80 for the worst acrylic fill of my life. Yikes. How is this place in business. This was my first time coming here, and honestly, it was the worst pedicure experience I've had in SoCal. I booked the deluxe pedicure that's supposed to be an hour long, but it was rushed and done in under 30 minutes. The technician cut my nails way too short - right down to the nail bed - so now they're uneven and too short to even file. She also cut into the corners, which I'm sure will turn into painful ingrown nails soon. She seemed like she just wanted to get it over with. After applying the polish, she told me to "let it dry" and immediately moved on to another client, leaving me sitting there awkwardly. The technician next to me was kind enough to check and let me know when my nails were actually dry and that I could leave. The polish itself was thick, messy, and all over the skin around my toes and it started peeling off after just a few hours. It was clear this tech just didn't have the right skills. I did see other technicians taking their time and doing great work, so maybe I just got unlucky. Still, this was by far my worst nail salon experience, and now I have to wait for my poor nails to grow back. read more

I never leave yelp reviews, but the service here was so terrible I need to! We had an appointment for a regular polish mani / pedi at 4:30 and didn't get seated till 5. They did our toes first, and finished around 5:30. The lady doing my toes tried to tell me that the polish she just took off my toes was gel, which was not, in order to try and upcharge me $17. It was clearly regular polish. By the time they had finished my toes, it was 5:30, and they still had not started my hands, nor did they even begin my hands until 6:10!! What a waste of my evening!! They were being extremely rude, we kept asking when someone would come do our manicure and the front desk lady had a new excuse every time as to why it was taking over an hour for someone to come start our regular manicure. This place is definitely a skip! read more

They were extremely rude when we asked about waiting times and did not apologize at all. We were there for over 2 hours and the colors were wrong and the manicure itself was unsatisfactory. I understand the wait time, but two hours was a bit overkill. On top of that the nail technician was not very helpful when I explained what I wanted and she didn't understand what I asked for. My nails have literally chipped the very next day. Very disappointing since it was a little overpriced, and this is the first time I had been there. I honestly would not recommend if you're looking for consistent results. Sometimes they'll do an okay job and sometimes they won't. I paid 80 dollars for a gel x set and expect it to be thorough. I experienced an uneven nail paint job to the point where air bubbles are visible on my set. I had to really advocate for my nails to be evenly rounded and I don't think I'll be coming here again. read more

The first very nice woman clearly had zero clue how to do dip glitter (which I explained at the front exactly what I was wanting to do, which I have done here before). Cut to two hours later this woman (not her fault, she didn't have the right experience and also couldn't understand what I was saying) had taken a very, very long time to do a semi-simple job. The lovely man who took over for her and completely erased everything she did for two hours was their normal efficiency. But because they didn't have the time, the job is completely botched. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful he did it, but I also did not want to be sitting there for 3.5 hours for something that would have taken the second man 1 hour to do. It's been 3 hours and my nails are peeling. If you can't do something, then don't say you'll do it. Worse yet, if someone spends two hours literally ruining a customers nails - the next person who does it better have the time to fix it correctly, and you should be mindful to make sure it's done correctly. Or say come back some other time? I'm not sure. But what I'm sure of is today was a complete waste of my day, time, probably theirs as well, and I paid full price and got a very poor result. Been coming here for years and not sure I will come back. I adore the guy who jumped and fervently "fixed" a very poor job... but he also very clearly didn't finish it well. And I wasn't happy about sitting through watching the botched job either, so it was never a favor For reference - the mint is what I left with today after 3.5 hours, which is now peeling. And not sparkling. And not properly sealed because the second time around was insanely rushed. The pink/blue/purple was the same glitter in March. Took one of their artists 1 hour at most, stayed for weeks, and wasn't $90. Inconsistent.

I noticed he would lean in closer to her occasionally, but I didn't realize that that was when he was saying these really inappropriate things to her. I wish I knew so I could have gotten her out of there sooner. Notice how Patrick never denied harassing my friend in his super professional response. On top of everything, the set she got was ugly and poor quality, just like mine (see pics). Ladies, be so careful around that nail tech. He is not one of the girls. It's even more alarming that he's the owner. I can only imagine how he conducts himself with his all female staff in the off hours. Edit: Patrick, please don't lie about this. I was there. You have no video or audio footage. Just be better.

I can't even begin to describe the absolute disaster that was my trip to the nail salon. As a gay Persian man, I was looking forward to some much-needed self-care, but what I got was a slap in the face - both literally and figuratively. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was met with disdainful glances and whispered insults. And then there was Spring, the nail technician assigned to me. From the get-go, they made it clear that they had no respect for me or my boundaries. As Spring worked on my nails, they didn't hold back on the lewd comments and inappropriate advances. It was like they saw me as nothing more than a plaything, something to be used and discarded at their whim. When I finally mustered the courage to tell them to stop, they laughed it off like it was some kind of joke. And the quality of the service? Don't even get me started. My nails looked like they'd been painted by a toddler with a blindfold on. It was clear that Spring couldn't care less about doing a good job - they were just going through the motions, eager to get me out the door and onto the next victim. But what really stings is the fact that this salon has the nerve to parade around with their fake five-star reviews, as if they're some kind of beacon of excellence in the nail industry. It's insulting, it's infuriating, and it's downright dishonest. So, if you're thinking about giving this salon your business, think again. I'm beyond furious about my experience at this salon. The pedicurist who worked on me was completely unprofessional and careless. She rushed through the prep, skipped essential steps, and offered zero care or attention. I had a blister on my foot from wearing heels, and I clearly told her to be gentle and avoid the area. Not only did she ignore my request, but she also handled my foot roughly and even sprayed alcohol directly onto the open wound. Are you serious? She had no idea how to do the cat-eye polish I asked for and had to get another technician to show her how. If you don't know how to do a certain style, don't offer it! The next day, my foot was severely inflamed because of her reckless treatment. This isn't just bad service--it's dangerous. Even though you have made the effort to call and make an appointment and show up on time, they will still keep you waiting for at least an hour beyond your appointment time. If you complain, she will block your number. She's done it to me and at least three other people that I know. Crazy, I know! If you for any reason are not satisfied with anything that the manicurist does, and you bring it to their attention, she will block your number and make sure you never can return. I was a loyal customer of this nail salon for a long time, even tolerating long wait times because I trusted their service. However, I later found out my number had been blocked--twice. The first time, they claimed it was a mistake. The second time, I was forced to call from another number, only to be refused service. When I calmly asked for an explanation, I was treated with extreme rudeness, told I was "not a good customer," and they even hung up on me while I was speaking -- which is completely unacceptable. Came here on a recommendation from my friend. Tom did my nails and I love them, but when I got outside, I noticed there was an issue with the topcoat separating making bumps on the nail. I went back in and showed it to them and he got to work fixing it but the same problem happened again. Daisy then stepped in, she figured out the problem and redid every nail in literally 20 minutes while a couple other techs watched to learn how to avoid this in the future. My nails are gorgeous! Susan did my toes too, also perfect. Aside from how lovely and friendly everyone is, the space is also beautifully done. New, clean and well designed. When I mentioned this, the front desk person, Max, rudely told me that appointments don't guarantee service at that time--they just know you're coming. The set was done somewhere else and most of the nails had fallen off, but the nail tech was still willing to take care of it, and insisted on not charging me their very reasonable $10 removal fee or accepting any tip for the service, which was so sweet and unexpected! She very gently and efficiently removed my remaining extensions, and meticulously trimmed, filed and buffed my natural nails before applying cuticle oil, and I can definitely tell that the techs are very experienced while prioritizing customer comfort. The French tip design was thin, even, and so neat! I love how the nail tech took her time, and made sure every nail looked the same. My pedicure was so great! I thought I've had Russian pedicures before, until I came here. It was then I realized the other salon I was going to prior to coming to MaJolie, was not doing it right lol! The pedicure I had here was so thorough! My husband even decided to get a pedicure with me here, when I showed him the videos of what their Russian pedicure consisted of. We both loved our pedicures! And needless to say, my French tip on my toes came out even and so clean! The lady who was working at the front desk was also so sweet! She checked on us throughout our service and offered drinks. The playlist in the salon was great! Also worth mentioning, the salon is so clean! My husband couldn't get over how everything was sanitized right in front of us, down to the gel lamps! My friend didn't get her feet scrubbed, and unfortunately, the pedicure didn't hold up--her polish rubbed off the tops of her toes after wearing heels that night. A letdown.
