Honestly, you're better off watching a YouTube video on how to make jollof than ordering it from this place. The jollof is full of palm oil, and the rice has no flavor whatsoever. Very easy & quick service. There's a sink in the restaurant to easily wash hands before eating Nigerian food the natural way!! I had the Amala and Ponded Yam with the Okra Soup and it was perfect. I got all beef instead of assorted meat. If you don't like tripe and fish I suggest you specify which meat you want. read more

West African food in South Florida! Ay! I was so excited to try this and I hoped it was good and it WAS! First thing, first the outlook of the restaurant. Its located in a shopping plaza and when you walk in it definitely has vibes of a Nigerian Restaurant(the owners are Nigerian). Like any Nigerian establishment they can't just do one thing there, so you can see that they sell traditional clothing here. Also the staff that worked there were hospitable...for West African standards..lol! I got the Egusi Soup n fufu becuase I figured it the easiest to make. They did not disappoint! It was FIRE!! Also I loved the assorted meats they put in there was good quality and seasoned well. I also got the Jollof rice and black eye peas. They were good and I actually enjoyed them more when I mixed them together. My favorite thing about this location is that they were quick and the food still tasted fresh. I went there today to get some egusi soup with fufu, and while I was chewing my food it felt like paper, pulled it out and there it was a piece of napkin and I already have a bacteria in my stomach that makes it sensitive so this is unexceptional and only god know what that napkin was used for! Please make sure that your restaurant is clean and that your kitchen is safe to cook in and make sure you check your food before you give it out to your customers! Seemed unorganized... It was a bit on the busier side when we got here but we put in an order as soon as we got there and sat down to wait. We waited about 50 minutes before we asked how long it was going to be, we were trying not to be rude as it was a bit busy but you'd think that after almost an hour the food would be ready but we were told it'd be another 20 minute wait but the time kept changing. We sat the whole time without anyone asking if we wanted drinks or without any updates. The hostess was a little inattentive but that might be because of stress. This review is somewhat difficult to write. Not only are African restaurants hard to come by, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, so it makes me feel somewhat guilty to not rate the place higher than 3 stars. I had never eaten African food, so I was excited to try it, though at the same time, I did not have a standard to compare it to, nor did I know what I should order, or what the options in the menu meant. Luckily, the pregnant young lady working here was on hand to answer any and all questions, as well as make recommendations. Since I wanted a comfort food option like a stew and I like okra, she suggested the Pounded Yam with Okro entree. The pounded yam is like a pasty, clay-like tortilla, and you're supposed to break it into portions and use it to scoop up your entree, but with okra being so slimy, it wasn't very effective, so I gave up on that. I liked how spicy the stew was, but there was one thing that was a disappointment, and that is, the texture of the meat. It was hard and chewy. Now I don't know if Africans cook their meat in a different way and perhaps this is a desired quality but for me, it was not something I liked. I like my meat to be tender. My friend ordered the Fried Rice with Ayamase and Moin Moin. He wanted a large amount of food since he eats like a pig, yet never puts on a pound (one more injustice of life, but I digress), and he wanted lots of carbs, meat, and some beans with his rice. Again, he had the same opinion as me -- the flavors were tasty and spicy, but the meat was like eating a rubber sole. I don't know if it was the quality of meat, the age of the cow (I think/hope it was beef?), or perhaps the fact the meat was not cooked long enough, or it was cooked at too high of a temperature. Regardless, we both were disappointed with the meat, but liked everything else on our plate, the individualized, friendly attention, and not to mention, watching TV in their African dialect was an interesting, unique experience. I asked my friend what he thought I should rate the place and he also had a hard time coming up with an answer. He thought perhaps they had an "off" day and we should go back and try it again, to see if the meat is more tender, next time. There is another African restaurant in Miami I'd also like to try. Perhaps then, I can have a more realistic view of what African cuisine should taste like, or at least something I can compare against Moji. read more

I am furious. I live 30 minutes away, and decided to try this Nigerian Resturant since I haven't been to any in South Florida. (I'm Nigerian) The website says they are open until past 8, (I got here at 5) when I got here the light was on but the door was locked and no one was inside. It's terrible business practice for the owner of a Resturant to leave during opening hours. I've been waiting for 30 minutes for the owner to come back, and to top it off, they aren't answering their phone. I'm not the only person who has been waiting. Another man came and was shocked that no one was inside and the door was locked. He waited a few minutes then left. Terrible. If you have set Resturant hours on your website, stick to them!! There's no reason why this should happen. I'm in shock. It doesn't matter how good the food is, if you don't know how to properly run a Resturant, it will fail. read more
