We used to go here more often, but it's been a few years and I'm glad we made time to visit again. Prices are not too bad and the we got lucky with parking so it was nice. The service was great and the portions were filling. It doesn't have a whole lot of seating so there might be waits, but the food and welcoming service are worth it
Always a great spot for a delicious breakfast. My go to breakfast is always the corned beef hash. This is not your typical corn beef hash from a can let me tell you, the corn beef hash is made fresh daily. You can really taste the pickling spices like coriander,clove and bayleaves. Another standout is the Lilikoi Pancakes. The pancakes are light and fluffy, with this incredible liliykoi sauce, and some whipped cream. So good. Service is always impeccable. If you are a regular, I can guarantee they will remember your name and your favorite thing you like to eat. Pro tip, I would suggest either going as soon as they open or later like 10 o'clock for breakfast to avoid the crowd. This place gets really busy and parking can be a little bit tight as it is street parking only. Do not park across the street in the shopping complex or your car will get towed.
We decided to hang out in the Kaneohe/Kailua side this day so we started our day at Moke's. They only have street parking so you're lucky if you find one. There's a parking lot across the street from them but DO NOT park there, you will get towed! They even have it posted on their wall at the restaurant. When we got there, there was about a 20-30 minute wait. When we finally got seated, we were sat on one of the two tables outside which was awkward cuz you have people waiting and you kinda feel like they're watching you eat. However, it is a hole in the wall so understandable that they tried to maximize their outside with tables. Service was great. Even if you're outside, they do not forget about you which is a plus. As for food, I'm a sucker for corn beef hash but I went with the moke nui omelet which had bacon, ham, spinach, mushroom, tomato, onions, and cheese. I opted to go with hash browns instead of rice. My Husband had the corn beef hash with over easy eggs and rice and our Daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancake. Our food didn't take long to come out. I tried the corn beef hash from my Husband's plate and I wasn't a fan. There was an acquired taste to it. I asked my Husand how he liked it and he said it was okay. My Daughter's pancake was cute. "A" for effort in trying to make it Mickey Mouse shaped. Overall this place was okay. I may come back to try other things, however, the parking is the disadvantage here.
Starting off strong, we stood at the Host stand for quite a while before being acknowledged. A Server did come up to grab the Bathroom key for her table, looked at us, and walked away . Oh okay lol Then a few minutes later a lady came up to help us and but our name down on the list. She had a more pleasant demeanor. I do think I remember her from my last visit about 5 years ago. Anyway- Place is a decent size but if you have a large party, it could take a while to be sat together. They have condiment packs on the table for your use. I prefer it more than using bottles. Lilikoi pancakes were still excellent , bacon was very greasy, like instead of letting it drain, they plopped it on the plate..just blot it if it's not your thing. Corned Beef Hash was passable.. it wasn't terrible but extremely salty and too much potato mixed it.. Eggs and coffee were great. I can't say I would go out of my way to eat here BUT if you're in the area or first time visitor, I'd absolutely recommend. I must note, we did come on a Saturday morning and although it wasn't as crowded as i remembered it could be, we did wait pretty long for our food. BOH may be understaffed so be patient. Parking is street metered. Don't park across the street in the lot. They are very fast to tow.
Just had breakfast at this cute little spot in Kailua and overall had a great experience! I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with hash browns - it was good, though not mind-blowing. The main 'difficulty' was that they only had packets of ketchup and soy sauce. Could have definitely used more seasoning and honestly about three times the amount of ketchup they provided. The real standout was the lilikoi pancakes - absolutely delicious and very flavorful! My wife got the French toast and rated it an 8/10, which came with pork link sausages. We also got an extra serving of that amazing lilikoi sauce for the French toast - it's incredibly creamy and makes everything better. Service was excellent, shoutout to Crystal who took great care of us. The restaurant gets very busy so expect a wait, and parking is a real challenge since it's only metered street parking. Good luck finding a spot! Despite the minor issues, the food quality and service make this place worth the visit. The lilikoi sauce alone is reason enough to come back.
Dropped by here yesterday with a friend for breakfast before 9 am (on a Tuesday). About a 20 min wait to be seated. Parking is paid street parking. First time at the Kailua location, usually go to the one in Kaimuki. Our server, Mahina, was great! Only seemed like there were a few workers but they all were working hard tending to everyone as quickly as they could. My friend and I both had the home made corned beef hash. I ordered mine with hash browns and over medium eggs, my friend had hers with fried rice and scrambled eggs. I personally was not a fan of the corned beef hash, as I prefer it to be chunkier with pieces of meat and not like the canned kind. My fault for not asking, too. Otherwise it did have some kind of a nice herbal flavor to it. Pancake was good, had too much passion fruit sauce for my taste and was a bit too sweet, but could be because we only ordered a single pancake and the sauce to pancake ratio was off.
Moke's was so good! We decided to stop by here after hiking and it was such a good decision. The inside is pretty small, but we were extremely quick and the service was great. Our food came out relatively fast and I added bananas to the French toast, which I thought was delicious. This ham was also probably the best ham I've ever had - SO GOOD.
Small, hole- in-the-wall , mom and pop place that has some indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like a local spot and those are my favorite. Got the rib eye loco Moke and it was excellent. Also had the veggie and has brown omelet so together the dishes balanced perfectly. We cleaned our plates. Service was quick and pricing was reasonable, approx $20-$25 a person. Would recommend
I stopped by for breakfast with my group before getting started with our day and this turned out to be a great start! The french toast was delicious. I'm not usually a sweets person in the morning, but this french toast blew me away. The loco moco was pretty good as well, and I really liked the gravy.
You could miss this place if you aren't looking for it. We were quickly seated and given menus and water. It is a quaint place, but there is also outdoor seating. This was my first time here and it was worth it. My daughter got the loco moco and really enjoyed the gravy. They have the traditional loco moco and one with prime rib. She got the traditional, but with fried rice. I got the corn beef hash meal with scrambled eggs and crispy hash browns. We also ordered a lilikoi pancake. At first, I didn't know whether it was the pancake or syrup that made it so special. We soon found out and enjoyed the sweet tart taste of the lilikoi sauce. It is thick and chilled. In my opinion, eat it while the sauce is still cold. When it starts warming, you can taste the butter on the pancakes, but it is still good. This is definitely a place I will visit again and bring my grandson next time.
The word of the day is Alpo. As in, the low end dog food in a can that slides out still congealed into a can shape. This was the meal where DH looked up from his plate and said "Well, Yelp finally steered us wrong.". We won't be wasting our time or money here again. So what was so wrong with this place? Staff: First, there was no one to put us on the list. Then our waiter was inattentive and treated us like it didn't matter if we didn't enjoy the service. It burns me when people assume DH and I are tourists so it's ok to be crappy to us. We are not and we both Yelp and frequent places we really like. Our hipster wannabe looked down on us like were some Iowan couple he'd never see again and we were beneath him. THE CARDINAL SIN: I made sure I took a photo of my plate for evidence. I am a part-time veg and only eat meat when it's something really amazing. I think corned beef hash is really amazing. When I lived in MD, we frequented a Jewish Deli that made corned beef in house and their corned beef hash was absolutely amazing. So, I was naturally very excited to see Corned Beef Hash on the menu. Now, I'm naturally suspicious and have questioned Hawaiian restaurants that don't specifically state that they make their own corned beef because I'm aware there's some horrible canned garbage floating around in dollar stores for dog food or possibly the end of the world, when eating good food won't matter as much as having a can of "meat" last about 20 years. God, I really wish I had taken a photo of the menu as well as my plate, but hindsight blah, blah, blah. So, it was with much happiness that I read in the menu that the chef HOUSE-MAKES the corned beef itself, and then mixes in FRESH potato and onion. This is not something you can fake. Canned versus real corned beef is synonymous with a real green pepper versus the plastic ones children play kitchen with. There's no comparison. I was so disappointed when I got my plate. Absolute garbage. Not even an idiot would think that neon pink disk of crap on my plate was ever house-made. If house-made means the "chef" reached for the can opener when my order came in, then it's house-made. They didn't even bother to disguise the fact that it was canned by tossing in some extra (beyond what comes in the can) onions or potatoes, or shuffle it around to remove the suspiciously round shape. No no, clearly someone slid the "corned beef" out of the can, sliced off a round, and warmed it up in the pan. This was a John McEnroe moment for me. I was so upset I couldn't say anything. $12 for this bullshit? Unbelievable. I ate my toast and eggs and wouldn't touch that "corned beef". DH had the combo number two and said it was forgettable and wished we had gone to Cinnamon's for pancakes. (Cinnamon's doesn't hide that their corned beef hash is canned and I don't order it. No bait and switch required.) He also ordered a biscuit on the side and it was very dry. I see that Moke's has a lot of great reviews and I hope everyone else continues to have good meals there. You couldn't pay me to go back to that place and I will put them on my "tell people to avoid at all costs" list with Jameson's in Haleiwa. The waiter tried to take away the untouched "corned beef hash" when we paid up. Oh, no. I paid $12 for dog food, I may as well get my money's worth. I got a to-go box. My dog enjoyed every bite of her lunch from Moke's. read more
Kailua town seems to be a great place to go on Saturday mornings. So relaxing and nice, except if you try and go to breakfast at Cinnamon's or Boots & Kimo's, where you will be aggravated by one hour wait times. Enter Moke's. I haven't been to B&K's yet (haven't had the patience for it). But Moke's is already better than Cinnamon's because of the onerous wait time (yes, Cinnamon's has red velvet pancakes, instead Moke's has lilikoi pancakes). We got there around 10:30 a.m., meter parked across the street and went in. While the place was not empty, the host seated us right away and we were good to go. I was tired so I ordered coffee right away and I must have had at least 4 refills - the guy came by every 5 minutes. Good service. Like (the very picky) David G. said, they offer a simple menu of breakfast classics with a Hawaiian touch and the place is super quaint and cozy, in a good way. I had the Moke's nui omelet and it did not disappoint. I ordered it with egg whites which makes you think that the omelet would be half the size, but it was a full sized and tasty with bacon, ham, spinach, cheese, onions and tomatoes. I would imagine that it would take a choke amount of eggs to produce that kind of volume with just egg whites -- great execution; take a look at my pic. With an order of hash browns for $10.50 that's a nice, hearty brunch. My wife ordered the pork chops and gravy and from my sampling, it was delicious as well. I was tempted to but did not order a stack of lilikoi pancakes as it may have busted my gut. Will try next time. I plan on spending more Saturdays in Kailua, perhaps after a little hike at the Pillboxes or after my soon-attempt at Olomana three peaks (of course, I will have to have the Olomana omelet after completing that). [Update: Olomana Three Peaks completed in August 2011 -- will try the Olomana soon!] I will not be deterred now from going to Kailua for breakfast on Saturdays anymore. I really don't want to wait an hour after a long hard week at work. I'll leave that joyful task to the tourists. This is a great place to have that home style breakfast and enjoy it right away. read more

Moke's Bread and Breakfast in Kailua Pros: Signature Lilikoi pancakes, "homemade" corn beef hash and fresh bread Cons: Only street parking, limited My wife and I just ate at Moke's yesterday for breakfast. It's one of many "hole in the wall" restaurants in Kailua. From the outside looking in and from the street it's on, you would think that it would be rundown, dusty, and a somewhat dirty restaurant. But word of mouth says you gotta go in and try their pancakes! So we went in and it's the total opposite! It's clean and organized well to fit as many tables as possible but while still being spacious. It's designed to look that old country style way. Silverware, condiments, and table tops were all clean. Most of the staff were smiling and always on the move to serve customers. Not noisy at all with a lot of ceiling fans to keep you cool. We purposely went on a weekday because weekends are slammed. We did not have to wait for a table at all. I think it was 9am. Our waitress was very friendly, informative,and appreciative. She noted their signature Lilikoi pancakes, fresh made bread/toast, and homemade cornbeef hash. We ordered them all. To describe the Lilikoi pancakes I have to use one word, orgasmic! Not for me but for my wife! I was on my phone with my head down posting my pictures of the food for my Yelp check in and I hear these sounds coming from my wife, "MMMMMM, OHHHHHH, MMMMMMM, OHHHHHH" with her first few bites of pancakes. I was like what is going on? I swear I've heard those sounds before...LOL! Seriously though, those pancakes are light, fluffy and moist. The Lilikoi syrup/sauce is something I've never had before and it was very delicious. The homemade corn beef hash and fried rice were pretty good but their fresh made bread/toast was especially good. Super thick bread, yet not heavy, toasted perfectly and topped with butter. Nothing like fresh bread! Why not 5 stars? Tough to choose between these Lilikoi pancakes and Cinnamon's Velvet pancakes. Much like the fate of Boots & Kimos and Cinnamons, Mokes is taking a path more focused on money and tourists, and less on producing quality food for its customers. Before it's expansion, this was our all time favorite breakfast spot, but after today's experience, we won't be returning. My wife and I ordered our usual, mokes sunrise #1 with liliko'i sauce on the side. Our waiter brought two plates and put one down in front of my wife. He took my plate to the back and was doing something to it. He brought it back a minute later, and explained the whipped cream tried to run off the plate so he moved it back. So, not only did he forget to put the sauce on the side for both plates, he moved the sauce and whipped cream all over my bacon. No apologies. Of course, at a $12 price point, I'm not going to waste my food. ( and we all know sending food back is never a smart choice). As I dig into my pancakes I notice that one pancake is severely burnt. (Will post picture) So I flipped it over hoping to catch my waiters attention. He saw it and asked if id like some maple syrup for it. Clearly he is missing something here. With expansion comes an increase of customers, workers and responsibilities. I feel that this current expansion has the staff underperforming and it shows. The old mokes paid more attention to making its customers happy. Not sure that's their top priority anymore. Such a shame that good Kailua establishments end up like this. read more

Holy Mokes! I mean, holy smokes! These lilikoi pancakes are bomb.com! I came here mid-morning on a Saturday, so there was a bit of a wait, however it was so worth it! I think I've found my new favorite pancakes. What's so great about it? Well, first the lilikoi sauce is simply omgamazing! Then. Then! Then, the pancakes themselves have such. great. texture! It was a little bit like biting into a pound cake, only in pancake form. So mouth watering! They were so soft and moist; it was just irresistible! I am obsessed with them! I'm seriously obsessed. My friend really wanted to try their eggless omelette so we came on Saturday around 11. Lucky for us the wait was only 25 min! The street parking was easy too. Once we got in, the dining room was much bigger than it looks from outside, the interior color was cozy and cute. Our waitress seemed very busy but she gave great service. Food came out maybe 20-25 min after we ordered, which is not that bad consider how popular this restaurant is. I had the rib eye loco moco with fried rice. First let's just say the portion is HUGE!!!! The eggs were beautifully cooked, the gravy was thick and tasty, the steak was more like medium well than medium rare (that I ordered) but it was thin cut so ok. The fried rice was a tad bit salty. My friend and her bf definitely enjoyed what they had (hash brown omelette and steak & eggs) they wiped their plate clean!!! It's not a place I will purposely drive from town to Kailua and wait in line just to eat, but I'll definitely come back to try their omelets and lilikoi pancake!! read more
It is true that Kailua has some solid breakfast choices (i.e. Cinnamon's and Boots & Kimo). This place trumps them all in epic fashion. The lilikoi (passion fruit) pancakes are by far some of the best pancakes I have ever had anywhere and they are superior in fluffiness and flavor to B&K down the road. The sauce is delightful. It is fluffy, but clings to every bite. You can order an extra side of it for $2 as this review is written. Recommended if you are going to order the full stack. The service has always been great. They bake fresh muffins each day and have a daily changing flavor. Last time it was berry cream cheese. Pretty tasty. The homemade corned beef hash was pretty good, also. I might not order it alone but a nice companion to the pancakes. read more
So you went to Boots & Kimos at 9am and found out its a 40 minute wait. Then you snuck over to Cinnamons and found out it was an hour and 20 minute wait. You're too hungry for something light from Agnes Bakeshop or Lanikai Juice and wanted to avoid the hipsters and cafe-ers from Morning Brew. By this point you're probably like, "WTF?!" Don't lose hope, there's more places than what your travel brochure has recommended! The boyfriend and I usually beach cruise it to a place called Mokes Bread and Breakfast on weekends since parking can be a little hard to find around that area since Mokes doesn't have their own lot. And also, beach cruising just seems like the Kailua thing to do since we don't have a dog to walk there. We never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a seat, and usually half the time we get seated right away. I love how this place has outdoor seating where people can bring their dogs or babies to chill outside. We don't have either, but still like to eat out front if its a sunny day. The vibe of the place has a beach diner feel. I wouldn't say that the waiter service is super quick, but I wouldn't say that it is super slow either. I think it depends on what waiter you get. Their pancakes (especially banana) are very good, along with the french toast. Fried rice omelet is DELISH and so is their corned beef hash. Bacon is always crispy and food is always warm. Prices are low/fair so you won't have to worry about spending too much. Job well done at Mokes for their breakfast. We are always satisfied with full bellies after eating here. Before I say anything...WAY BETTER THAN BOOTS AND KIMOS Now what could you possibly not love about Moke's? They have better service, shorter wait times, better food, and an overall better experience without being rushed out the door 10 minutes after you've begun eating your food. I would recommend: 1) Lilikoi Pancakes are a MUST HAVE, I recommend splitting a short stack with your table while you still have your entree, it's like a nice dessert accent. 2) Corned Beef Hash: AMAZING, large, and definitely worth what you pay for 3) LOCO MOKE: a twist on the Loco Moco as it has rib eye steak instead of hamburger steak. Amazing. 4) Lastly, the Egg-less omelet. My mom goes crazy for this thing and always gets it every time she comes. It's basically an omelet but made with hash browns rather than eggs. It's really good and pretty original, not something I often see around. Never had a bad time here, it's always on my list of places to eat whenever I'm home for vacation. read more
There are a handful of breakfast joints in Kailua that are building in popularity. We've gone along with the hype with Cinnamon's and Boots and Kimo's but Moke's has become our new go-to favorite restaurant. Not only do you feel like you're being served in the comfort of your aunty or grandma's house but also it's not over crowded with tourists. They're known for their lilikoi pancakes, which are to die for. I prefer to order the syrup on the side but even if you don't you'll find that it's not overly sweet and wonderfully fluffy! read more
AH-MAY-ZING breffast spot in Kailua! Totally worth the wait! There's usually a line, but thoughts of tasty honey butter biscuits and corned beef hash will make it go by! The restaurant itself is a really sweet and cozy place, and the service is good. But the FOOD... AMAZING! Honey butter biscuit: Comes to the table piping hot with a little dish of honey butter on the side. Plop that butter on top of the biscuit and watch as that sweet creamy goodness glides over the fluffy carbo-lovin' you're about to have. MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH! Dark rye toast: Good lord, I could whack a whole stack of this stuff with a good slathering of butter. Oh Paula Deen would be proud! Corned beef hash: Creamy, meaty, crispy on top, so many flavors and textures blowing up in your face! Omelette: See description of flavor explosion above. Hash brown: It's past crispy, it's CRUNCHY FRIED POTATO GOODNESS! I need a nap just having a flashback. read more
Best reason to wake up before my normal noon wake up time: Moke's Bread & Breakfast. Located on Ho'olai street, directly across blockbuster Kailua, and right next to Casablanca is this quaint little breakfast nook, with a simple menu that leaves you extremely satisifed, and will leave you wanting more and more. I know I did. If I had to say one thing that's a fact, Kailua & Kaneohe definitely have it down when it comes to breakfast. Now everyone knows about Boots & Kimo's banana mac nut pancakes, and how delicious they are, but do people know about Moke's lilikoi pancakes? Yeah that's what I thought. These pancakes are to die for. Short stack is $6.95 for 2 pieces, and full stack is $7.95 for 3 pieces. I'd opt for the full stack. I know I could eat that thing all by myself, and not share. The pancakes are very light and fluffy, and the lilikoi sauce isn't thick nor overpowering unlike some sauces. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Leaving your mouth with a great balance of pancake and sauce. Reason why it isn't 5 stars? They definitely have great customer service... To those they know. This place isn't big, and I think they have adequate amount of staff for the amount of customers they have, but I swear I saw my waitress twice. I had to ask another waitresses to refill my cup of water. They were just too busy talking up a storm with their other customers that they forgot about the rest of the restaurant. Fortunately, their food, especially those pancakes, makes up for their lack of customer service, and I will definitely be back for more. read more
Best breakfast in Kailua!! Out of the three restaurants I've been to anyway. We didn't get there until 10am so we knew we would have to wait. There weren't a lot of people before us, but it seemed like we got there just as every one was looking at their menus. Once we were seated, we enjoyed delicious coffee while we waited for our meals. I ordered the sunshine breakfast #3 which is french toast, eggs, and choice of meat. My boyfriend ordered the sunshine breakfast #1 which is the same thing, but with pancakes. He upgraded to banana pancakes. When we got our order, Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson started playing. Coincidence? My boyfriend said that they made the already delicious pancakes more enjoyable to eat. Anyway, we thought the food was really good! Next time I go, I want to try the lilikoi pancakes and see what all the fuss is about! I usually try the "must try item" but I forgot this time. Oh and we ordered a side of hash browns and they were done just right which is a big deal for me :) read more

Wait was about 20 minutes, totally worth the wait. We got the eggs Benedict but instead of having it with bacon we substituted it for steak ham! Winners!! Had to get sent back since we found a hair in our hash browns but they fixed the problem quickly and gave us a free biscuit to say sorry. Jeff is such an awesome server, ask for him! The lilikoi pancakes are a must, for just $2 you can have the pancakes instead of rice or hash browns. read more
One word: Delicious!! Service: A Food: A+ Price: A Atmosphere: A Take a step into a local's house and dine at Moke's Bread and Breakfast. We were so fortunate to find this hidden gem in Kailua. We arrived around noon and were immediately seated. I was immediately drawn to the Lilikoi Pancakes. Yum! I felt like I could sleep in a bed made of these pancakes. It wasn't just the lilikoi syrup. It was the pancakes. They were fluffy but firm. Crispy and flavorful. The added lilikoi was a bonus. Not too sweet either. Topped with whip cream. The bf was very interested in the Rabbit Loco Moco but felt torn. We have a pet rabbit at home and it just seemed wrong to order the dish. So he did anyway. LOL. The Rabbit Loco Moco was highly recommended by our server Kyle. So he just bit the bullet and dove right in. The bf raved about the Rabbit Loco Moco. "It is so soft like pork meat, but tender. I didn't know what to expect... it is my favorite Loco Moco ever. So good. I don't even feel bad about eating a cousin of our bunny". Well, hopefully he doesn't try to eat our bunny. I am a bit nervous now. All of the bread served at Moke's is baked in house! And they have their own coffee. I highly recommend this place! Ono grindz, great service, excellent prices. For some reason one person in our party always gets the southwestern Omelette and it never fails!! Absolutely delish! Anyhow today's visit, took the cake! Jeff had suggested "the Jeff" (see then picture) and YES, it was the best breakfast I had in a loooong time!! I'm very, very picky and "the Jeff" had everything I love in my breakfast....with rabbit gravy?!!! Sounds weird but I have to say it was very elegantly delicious! My pallet is very happy.... Doesn't stop there...wait Mango Li Hing Mui pancakes???!!! What??!!...YES fluffy pancakes with saucy goodness!!! It was just right....perfect to end our brunch!!! Great service, nice people, mixed diversity of customers, consistent with taste of food. In my book...it's a 10! But yelp only give 5 stars lol! Happy eating! read more

Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum! I've been here twice in one weekend this is how good they are. This place officially serves my fave eggs benedict on the island. They're hollandaise sauce is amazing. I could eat it as soup. I absolutely love the fact that that they bake their own bread here. Its so fresh and delicious. I always get fresh papaya too. I wish they had on my side of the island! read more
I'll give it a 4 stars- 1-) WAIT TIME: The service is quick! No longer than a 20 minute wait, despite how busy it was. 2-) SERVICE: Once seated, the waiter service was fast, drinks came within a few minutes and our order taken and received within ten minutes. 3-) FOOD: The food reminds me of my mom and dad's home cooked breakfasts....homemade corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. Love that they have brown rice. The Lilikoi Pancakes r a winner, too! Not too sweet and the pancakes are nice and fluffy and tasty. Yum. Cons: The parking is slim. Street parking. read more

Ate here with my family this morning. On the weekends there's usually a wait to get seated. No wait this morning being it was a weekday. The food here is good. My son had the Loco Moke. It must have been really good cause it was all gone by the time I looked up from my food and finished taking pictures and posting it to Instagram. The waitress was personable and quick read more

Great spot to grab brunch before kayaking at the beach. Remember, do not park at any of the complex across from Moke's, you have to park on street parking, go around the block and make sure to feed the parking meter!! There was a 20minutes wait when we were there. When we got seated, we ordered coffee and iced coffee, 2 rabbit moco, chili moco, biscuit and their special pancakes. Food was amazing and the pancakes were delicious. Fluffy, and tasteful with the lilikoi sauce. Coffee were refillable including iced coffee (thats new to me!!) SO GOOD. It is so rare that I will feel the need to gush about how delicious a place was, and maybe they got lucky because I was absolutely starving when I came here, but regardless I absolutely loved everything about Moke's. Mostly intended to be a breakfast/brunch place, our party came out to this side of the island just a tad late at around 1PM (they were supposed to close at 2, just FYI! but they had no hesitations about seating us at all) we found there was no wait and were quickly and efficiently set up at a nice big table for our party of four. The menus are very easy to read, everything is described exactly as is leaving us with no questions for our server and an easy ordering experience. Our server was also very *cool* and had such a positive attitude that it really brightened up our experience here. There were so many things on the menu that sounded delicious so you can imagine how difficult it was to come to a decision. They have a "Rabbit Loco Moco" that I've never tried before, but I'm definitely intrugued. We ordered a huge variety of things, from their delicious lilikoi pancakes, to a southern scramble, to chili on rice, and can't forget their awesome iced coffees with the mountain of whipped cream on top! Now I'm not usually a fan of pancakes in general, but these lilikoi pancakes seriously left me wanting more and more. Service is really friendly and on point. Lilikoi pancake was delish with the waiter letting us know we could get just one. It was so thick, almost like a cake, and the lilikoi sauce was just a perfect tarty, not too sweet with orange zest. The Southwestern omelette with shredded pork was meh. It was so bland! I had to put salt on it but couldn't get it out of the shaker. I tried taking the top off to clear the clog but the rice in the shaker kept blocking it. The pork was kind dry and the vegetables tasted raw. There was an option to get salsa for .50 cents but the waiter said the salsa was from a jar so I didn't get it. My friend got the ribeye loco moco with fried rice and the gravy tasted like it came from a jar too. It was just salty and didn't really have that rich homemade gravy taste. The ribeye was suppose to be cooked to medium but it was more rare and there was so much flabby fat attached it was gross. The most disappointing was the crappy, weak, and expensive coffee. I got the dark roast and had a refill 30 min apart but it was still weak. A breakfast place needs to have good coffee!!! Will I go back? Maybe for the lilikoi pancake but I won't go out of my way or if I have to wait more than 10 min for a table. read more

Something the Windward side has down, breakfast! Sure, Boots and Kimos and Cinnamon's are great, but don't underestimate Moke's. Their menu is relatively small and simple, and I decided to get the only two items that are highly recommended by restaurant itself. Moke's is a great little spot to visit for breakfast or brunch because they make everything fresh in-house, including all of their baked goods. Their scones are yummy, their bread is yummy....everything is yummy. Kailua is packed with dope breakfast spots, and with so many to choose from, it is easy to overlook Moke's, but don't sleep on Moke's. They are serving up great quality breakfast in a cute little spot. Moke's more popular items include lilikoi pancakes and the corned beef hash. I have not had the corned beef hash yet, but it's on my list. I have, however, had the lilikoi pancakes, and they are really good. The pancakes themselves, are just regular pancakes. The lilikoi comes in the creamy syrup they offer you....and it is delicious. While their pancakes are nice and fluffy, they're nothing out of this world, but that lilikoi syrup makes the meal. My friend ordered the rabbit moco which looked pretty good. The rabbit is baked into little medallions that resemble crab cakes, and she said they were really tasty. It's a pretty cool little dish. I've never seen rabbit on a breakfast menu before. As I mentioned earlier, they have a great bakery that does not disappoint with a great variety of muffins and biscuits. We always grab a biscuit to go because I can never finish one during breakfast, so I eat it later in the day. It is crumbly and soft at the same time....stupid good. I really like Moke's. I will have to go back and try some other menu options. I just can't seem to order anything other than their lilikoi pancakes because they are that good. They do not take reservations, so you will need to show up early if you want to grab a table. I don't really recommend this spot for big groups, unless you are getting there early to hold seats. One other thing to watch out for is parking. DO NOT PARK IN THE LOT ACROSS THE STREET! You will get a ticket. They have some street parking in front of the restaurant and around the block. Trust me, nothing ruins a yummy breakfast like a parking ticket. I have been here a couple of times, and I've never had any issues finding street parking. read more

Service is friendly but surely there are better breakfast places here. I ordered the stuffed hash browns with vegetables and had the brown rice with it. To be honest, the dish itself was pretty bland. The hash browns and vegetables tasted just ok, not really anything to write home about. I would definitely skip if you have limited time in Hawaii. There are lots of better places to fill your food quota with. read more

One of my favorite brunch spots in Kailua. Went for an early hike with our dogs and came here to eat afterwards. Got a seat outside and the host came out with water bowls with fresh ice water! Friendly staff, good food, and in the heart of town. Come early on weekends though, this spot gets busy! read more

Aloha! Kailua location does not, they operate first come and first served. Kaimukī location accepts lunch reservations based on availability and starting at 11am
