I got the taro burger, taro gnocchi, and golden milk. I'm not a vegetarian and I usually like vegetarian places but not this one. The burger was too spicy, same with the golden milk. I usually like golden milk but they might've put too much ginger. It was so spicy I couldn't drink it. When I told them, they did give me a lavender lemonade (hence the second star). The taro gnocchi didn't have much flavor. It wasn't my idea to go here so I definitely wouldn't have gone on my own. Me and my wife are both Indian Vegetarians and with limited options for us in Maui, we found this gem :-) we had Buffalo roasted Cauliflower (hot) and Falafel Wrap (very yummy falaffels) both were delicious and we topped it off Lavendar Lemonade! The vegan concept is really good. They also have no plastic waste and no take out containers. I ordered the taro gnocchi and lavender lemonade. The sauce in the gnocchi is very good but the taro gnocchi is gritty and feels heavy and doesn't have the chewy texture of traditional gnocchi. The lavender lemonade is excellent. Found this little diamond in the rough after our quick random grocery store trip. Taro burgers? Yes, they had me at taro, but we had already placed our name for another nearby restaurant to satisfy my carnivore family's cravings. But, because I have been deprived of my green juice since arriving in Maui, my husband was kind enough to cave in. He caved in to their pineapple cool aid as I devoured their taro fries, hibiscus kombucha and health shot. I was completely satisfied. Just as many have already mentioned, this place is a completely zero waste establishment! This is a great business approach and I look forward to them thriving in this more than often selfish world. I also look forward to many other businesses following in their footsteps to make a difference. Although, we were glad to see that many businesses since we last visited two years prior have removed the use of plastics so we rarely had to use our reusable utensils or straws. This place though raised the bar. Everything is locally sourced, any waste from the customer is composted, they make their own plant based milk and use the rest for making their baked goods, to go containers? None! They use ti leaves instead! I mean how cute and aesthetically pleasing is that? And, so on... Vegan or not, this place needs be supported and recommend that many places should follow suit. This is one of the best places I have eaten in the entire US. I found this on my first day in Maui and came back thrice in a span of 4 days. Just went to Moku roots with my girlfriend and had a great meal. She got to Tero Burger and loved it. I got the buffalo cauliflower wrap and was super impressed. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly and had a crunch and it was breaded and had a really tasty spicy sauce. Afterwards we had Popsicles, She had the avocado coconut and thought it was really good and that the avocado made it creamy. I had the mango chili and loved it. The entrees were somewhat spicy which i didn't mind (but if you are sensitive to spice make sure to ask when you order. The hummus in particular was spicy but delicious. We liked the pancakes so much we got a second order. The prices were very affordable considering we are in touristy Lahaina. All the ingredients were fresh and each dish was packed full of flavor.
