Came here again but got different pizza's. Usually we get the Sandy which is very good but the margarita pizza was bomb. Simple but has plenty of fresh mozzarella. Wifey got the lasagna this time, which was also quite good. The meat lovers pizza is above average but just a little to salty (due to the meat). This place does not disappoint, I encourage making a reservation or you are rolling the dice and might have to resort to getting the food to go. read more

I've gotten take-out from Molinari's twice in the past couple of months. Their pizza was so good? Both times, I got pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. The toppings fill up the whole pizza and my brother was impressed by the big hulking mushroom slices they used - no dainty toppings here! The pizza had a thinner crust and was made to perfection. No complaints here! So why 4 stars instead of 5? Last time, I also ordered the lasagna. It was only ok. I expected a lot more flavor. They certainly gave a hearty portion - for $17 they should! But I've had better take-away lasagna from a market. I wouldn't get the lasagna again, but I'll keep ordering pizzas from here - no doubt! read more

First and foremost, Molinari's is an American-Italian restaurant. If you are looking for authentic Italian food, this is not the place for you. If you want some Americanized Italian food, this is probably the best place in the area. Just as a note, they offer complimentary bread and olive oil for dine in customers. I got the Strawberry Spritz mocktail to start and it was great, highly recommended: 5/5. It has a good strawberry flavor and a good balance of lemon. It is syrupy at the bottom, so good if you have a sweet tooth. I got the seasonal roasted squash: 1/5. The Blood Orange EVOO greatly overwhelmed the flavors of the dish and there were areas where the dish was especially pungent. When I was eating it, some parts of the drizzle had a good amount of balsamic vinegar and Blood Orange EVOO, but other parts were just overwhelmingly pungent with a deep concentrated Blood Orange flavor. I would not get this again. I'm not too judgmental and I have leniency with food, but the sharp pungency in some areas just made the dish very unpalatable. Fettuccine Carbonara: 5/5. Again, this is very Americanized Carbonara. The dish is made with the addition of cream and peas, so in other words, it is non-traditional. It also uses a fresh pasta, so in other words, it has a very eggy flavor, especially considering the sauce. I knew this when I ordered it and it did not disappoint. The pasta had a good bite to it, the peas were just barely cooked and retained a lot of crunchiness, the sauce of flavorful, and the pancetta was fresh. Serving was a good portion. Summer in Sicily: 4/5 It was good; I wasn't too wowed with it however, so I think 4 is fair. My first thoughts with it was that it was incredibly boozy. When I first took a sip, I tasted a strong amount of alcohol. I moved the straw towards the top, and tasted soda. It occurred to me that the alcohol was concentrated at the bottom, but wow, I was not prepared for it when I took that initial sip with the straw positioned as it came. It's a fun cocktail to order. My thoughts when drinking it were that it tasted like a Bomb Pop popsicle. Strawberry and Lemon with a slight astringent bitterness in the middle of the tongue that just reminds me of Bomb Pops. I did dock a tiny bit from the score because they used an unripe strawberry. There were also some (really) small brown specks floating on the ice but that had no bearing on my score. Crème Brûlée: 3.5/5 Well, my main gripe with the crème brûlée was that the cream was over cooked. I added a photo to try to capture the texture on camera, but the crème brûlée was not custardy at all. A great crème brûlée shouldn't be too runny nor should it be too solid. This crème brûlée was more on the solid side, more like a stiff purin. The caramelized sugar was good- it was pretty nice and uniform and had a great crunch, while surprisingly being thin. It came with some cool garnish- the cookie was good, the strawberry was beautifully fanned, and the whipped cream was great with my last few bites of the dessert. If anyone is wondering, the mint sprig was fresh and still springy. I could tell that the ingredients were good (aside from the strawberry being unripe), but the crème brûlée being over cooked was what pushed it into 3-star territory. I do appreciate the garnish, but I wish that they used ripe berries. Overall, my experience was wonderful and I will definitely come back. The Carbonara was amazing and I can see myself coming by every once in a while to get it. It also seems like they offer a seasonal menu, so it seems fun to be able to pop in and try different dishes too! read more

This has been on my list to come to for a while! We finally got a great pizza here last night. On the online ordering I accidentally scheduled for 25 mins later than I wanted. They got my pizza together for me in a matter of minutes. It was so nice. They were super accommodating even though it was my mistake. The pizza was AMAZING. We got the Bocca. It was so salty and delicious. The ricotta on top was my favorite party. The peppers were also so good. I can't wait to try some more of their pizzas. Been wanting to try this place for a while now. This was our 3rd attempt at a walk in because it was very last minute that we decided we wanted Italian! The first 2 times we tried to come, it was fully booked at an hour+ wait and we didn't want to wait either time but third times the charm! I came with my partner and we honestly didn't understand the hype about this place. Everything was very basic in terms of flavor. We ordered arancini for an app followed by the chicken parm and the chicken saltimbocca. Arancini (6 small rice balls) lacked in seasoning and it was room-temp when it arrived to the table. I ate one and didn't want anymore as I thought it was weird that it wasn't hot. Chicken parm was very basic but there was so much breading on the chicken that I felt like I was just eating bread crumbs. The chicken on the Saltimbocca was very salty (I guess due to the prosciutto) but the house-made pasta was nice. Personally would not come back. read more

Nice place to eat. It has a formal but informal feel to it. Staff greeted us for our reservation and seated us right away. Our Server Regina was very nice and very attentive. The meatballs as an appetizer were very good. You can tell they were hand made. The dinners, Chicken Parm, Sunday Gravy and Pasta Ala Vodka were all very good as well. I assume it was the manager that came over to us while we were eating to make sure all was good. That was very nice! We all shared the Tiramisu, it was very good as well. Our waitress came over as soon as we sat down. She recommended the fried clams as an appetizer. They were the best clams. They were fried with such a light coating. My husband got the Luzza pizza. But this was like eating Sea Salt. I ate 2 pieces and trashed the rest. Garden salad - how can you not wash vegetables in the salad ???? Mushrooms came with dirt. Pic attached. Incredibly mediocre. I think because dorchester has so few good pizza places, mid restaurants are rated higher than they should be. We ordered takeout and the Buffalo chicken pizza was WAY too salty and incredibly soggy even though we picked it up earlier than the quoted time and had a max 5 min drive home. The steak sandwich was also soggy and most the the sandwich is just bread. We paid $.75 for extra bleu cheese in a tiny container that was filled maybe 1/4 of the way. I have been here before and remember it being average but I think this was my last visit. read more

FANTASTIC! Honestly, I'm not big on pizza, but the Lucca makes me want to come back. The garlic came in fried bits and roasted bits. The Parmesan garlic cream sauce was just right. My husband happened upon this restaurant by chance. We had an early dinner today. When we arrived we had a warm reception and seated at a nice table. It had a clean, happening vibe. Saturday night we ordered take out from here for the first time. The menu has so much to offer; from sandwiches to pizza and pasta. We honestly weren't that hungry so we ordered some appetizers: (arugula salad, arancini, Mellazana Forno, and chicken wings) and for dessert the Zeppole. Everything was fresh and still HOT which is sometimes rare for takeout/pickup. The curbside pickup was fast with excellent and friendly service. Lovely little gem in Adams Village! This is a fairly nice Italian restaurant, the inside is lovely with exposed brick and a bar you could enjoy. We were there on a Wednesday for lunch so the place was empty. The staff was super friendly, gave us good recommendations and the food was absolutely delicious! The popeye was a spinach pizza with a garlic sauce, a fun spin on regular pizza! We also had egg plant parm, which had the perfect amount of ricotta. The red sauce was a little peppery for me and the pizza was a bit greasy, but overall would for sure come back for a date night. read more

I've had the Ida's Meatballs, Pappardalle Bolognese, Build your Own Pie (half cheese, half meatball), and Cannoli's the first time And then I've had the Ida's Meatballs, Il Pesce Salad, Chicken Parm, The Lucca and Canolli's the second time. My fiance and I both highly recommend the meatballs and cannoli's. The bolognese was good (not salty), but also didn't have enough meat sauce to it! The build your own was fab. The Il Pesce salmon was out of this world. And the parm was fab. The Lucca was great (but was the only thing that felt "heavy") if that makes sense. These are fresh ingredients, home made. So it's not the italian food that will make your fingers "swell" the next day from over salting. Its INCREDIBLE! Next time I will try the Bocca, or Burrata and the Carbonara!! Amazing..... The restaurant was busy however we were seated at the bar. We had the most amazing server Gracie. She was so attentive and she makes drinks with so much love. I tried their Italian Margarita. Let me tell you best Margarita I have tasted up North. The atmosphere was welcoming. Everyone was so friendly. The food nothing missed a beat from the beginning to end. We had the Arancini it was amazing it was like a deep fried piece of heaven For main dish we had the Sandy pizza and scallops cream di limone. I was dancing in my seat. I walked in at 7:05 pm on a busy Saturday night and I already knew there would be a substantial wait. I was told that there was an hour wait and a table should be available around 8:15. I left my name and number and was added to the open table waitlist. With no text update at 8:25 we checked back in with the host stand and were told that there was no way they were going to be able to seat us at all. I've always driven by and it's always packed. I'm sad I've waited so long to try their food. It was a Friday night. I ordered a large margarita pizza to go. The wait was 35 minutes which is longer than most places, but I didn't mind it. And I actually kind of expected it. Their pizza was massive first of all. I was not expecting it to be as big as it was! I am so glad I started with such a classic pizza. If you can perfect a margarita pizza, then the rest of your food must be just as good if not better. Their crust was soft but slightly salty. The sauce was sweet and the bufala mozzarella was salty but not too salty. And of course the basil was a perfect touch.
