Order: - Custom build your own wrap with turkey, mozzerella, hummus, roasted red peppers, and other veggies (dont knock it til ya try it- its delish and quite large!) - Custom built salads - Penne with red sauce, topped with roasted veggies and grilled chicken - their side of ciabatta bread... wow so warm and fresh! For such a small place, they really do have an extensive menu: large variety of pizzas, calzones, pastas, sandwiches and wraps. You can't go wrong with a classic meatball or chicken parm sub. I love their pasta, the small is HUGE and can be lunch x2 for me, especially with the yummy, fresh baked bread on the side. They also have daily specials. Really enjoyed my MealPal lunch I ordered here today! I was in and out in under a minute and my meal was already packed in a bag with utensils ready to go. The oven roasted chicken bowl had quinoa in it which definitely made the meal more substantial. It also came with bread on the side which, despite being just straight up bread, was quite yummy and filling. The bowl itself had many different toppings like cranberries and butternut squash. The chicken portion was substantial but the chicken was a little dry - I guess that's to be expected with white chicken meat. Will be ordering from here again! - UPDATE #1: the pollo verdura bowl on MealPal was VERY carb-heavy with mostly pasta and some toppings and sauce on top. Not a fan of this one. read more

Kudos to Viga on Devonshire! At 11:45am, I got hit with a request to get lunch in for 17 people. For lunch at around Noon. Sandwiches, chips, desert and drinks. Now, one could say it's "just sandwiches" and Viga may operate assembly line efficiency, but in my long administrative professional career, more often than not, dropping everything at a moment's notice to feed 17 people for the administrative professional, and the caterer, is an un-needed stressful situation for both parties. Viga didn't miss a beat and said "Sure, we can do that" and said they could get it done in 15 minutes. That's a sign of a real pro, making winning relationships in order to get the job done. I love the food here but the hours are so limited, aka I wish it were open on weekends! Open 11am-3pm M-F. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Terra Luna or the Vegetariano sandwiches. Ordered a buffalo chicken hot wrap via Ritual. It was ready very quickly (even during the 12pm lunch rush) and I walked in, grabbed it off the counter and walked out. This is an essential function for me, by the way...because my hair usually picks up the scent of grilled food within minutes (I did a sniff test just this second to be sure and I reconfirmed my hair doesn't smell like chicken parm). The portion is generous, as it should be for a $9.00 wrap. However, it is cumbersome to eat. The chicken isn't chopped into bite size pieces so that when I went in and bit into a large chunk, it flew out of the wrap, spewing rice, bleu cheese and hot sauce everywhere. This happened more than once. Thankfully, I'm wearing black today. Taste was good, but there was an overabundance in terms of rice ratio. Some of the rice was white, some was mixed with the spicy buffalo sauce, it was too much. I wanted more celery, and had the chicken been chopped up and spread out, that would have helped as well. Would I order it again? Probably not. But there are other options on the menu that look, frankly, delectable. So I'd give it another shot, but I'll bring my smock just in case. read more

A great place for lunch. The daily Pasta specials are great and cheap. the small can be had for under 4 bucks. and the large at 5.50ish can feed you twice. ( I shouldn't have eaten the whole thing in one sitting). The variety of the food, pastas, sandwiches, calzones, pizza (which looks good but I haven't tried it yet) allows for a varied selection. The upside and downside of the place is it is fast and furious. You can get in and out in a hurry, but if you don't know where to go or what you want you will be spun around like a small craft in a maelstrom. read more

You've changed the way I view catering more than anyone could ever do. I order lunch for an office filled with the manliest of men and pickiest of eaters Boston could offer. And you understand how challenging a large group of people can be, so you offer your comfort by way of a large *wink, wink* menu. Tasty wraps, delicious pizzas, hearty salads and festive cookies. And, to top it off, all for a ridiculously affordable price. How is it possible to order an ample amount of food, for 30 people to be exact, and keep it under $200? You pull at my heart strings you food beast, you. To top off this love affair, your employees have great follow through. I love pasta, but rarely do I want a humungous, sit-down lunch. So I was really happy when I found Viga, where you can get a small pasta with bread for less than $4! I like Viga. It's fast and friendly, and I've always been impressed with the value. But, sadly, none of the food wows me. I keep going back and trying more things, and I keep being disappointed. The marsala chicken pasta and the penne alla viga (with prosciutto, mushrooms, tomatoes and cream) are both okay, but remind me of cafeteria meals. Once I got a meatball with pasta and the meatball was tasty, but the marinara had no flavor or body. This substandard marinara extends to the pizzas and subs. To make a chicken parm, they grab some chicken fingers, shove them into a roll with a slice of cheese, ladle the watery red stuff on top and hand it over. Same technique for the Italian subs, which are hastily made with a preassembled pile of nondescript cold cuts. Gourmet pizza slices are only $2.79, but the crust is bland. Sigh. Still an acceptable go-to spot for a fast, cheap lunch. It's mobbed at noontime, but the sharpshooter cashiers have your change out before you've found your wallet. read more

Tips: Make up your mind before you get in there, you need to get in the right line (cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, pasta, pizza), order your food, and pay. I would definitely recommend clicking on the link above and perusing the menu before you get there. There's lots to read and the line moves quickly no matter how backed up they are. There are tons of choices within the categories of hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, pasta, pizza, and calzones. But then there are always daily specials when you get there. I think I've tried something from each of them, except the pizza. The calzones are amazing, but no small undertaking - may be best on a day when you snoozed through breakfast and plan on having a late dinner. There's really something there for every kind of food mood you're in, they even have premade salads. If you go in anywhere between 12-12:30 and 1:15, seating will be rare. read more

Normally I like to visit a place several times before I review, but my lunch yesterday was just too good. The grilled chicken sandwich at Viga easily ranks in my Top 5 Sandwiches I've Ever Eaten. That's no small accomplishment: Like Joey from Friends, I list "sandwiches" as a favorite food. Grilled chicken, provolone, avocado spread (read: guacamole), and tomato relish on a baguette = ultra-delicious. Viga is going to give me problems because the rest of the menu also looks awesome, but ordering anything else means there will not be grilled chicken sandwich in my mouth. I just discovered this place behind my building! (right after I discovered that my building has a back door!) A great lunch place- food is amazing and you get a lot of food for your money! I tried the eggplant parm sandwich which was so tasty and huge (I saved half for lunch the next day) and cost $5.25! It seems that every day they have 3-4 pasta specials among other specials of the day. Plus they have the usual Italian fair- hot and cold subs etc. The line looks daunting but moves very fast. I understand the appeal of Viga. It's cheap, there are a lot of options, and they have cycling specials and deals. I just can't get behind their food. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad at all. I just wouldn't say it's particularly good either. If I could describe most of the food I've tasted from Viga, I'd call it "fine". Everything is filling, but I haven't ever really had food from Viga that was distinctly flavorful. I've had a couple of pretty bland calzones, some greasy pizza, and a couple of pretty good but uninspired salads. If you're looking for a quick bite for cheap, check it out, but don't expect to have your mind blown by any measure. As an aside, they do always give you free bread with any purchase. And while it isn't particularly great bread, it is FREE bread. Who doesn't love bread? And who doesn't love free? Kudos to you on that Viga, kudos to you. read more

Viga is a great little lunch spot. They offer pastas, pizza (which is greatly superior to the totally-missable Al Capone's a few doors down, though inferior to Pizzeria Regina in South Station), hot and cold wraps, and salads. The SMALL size salad is one meal. The LARGE size salad is two. So, compared with Cosi, it's about half the price, and fresher, with a better range of dressings. I deem it the best salad in Downtown Crossing. But, to get access to all the salad options, arrive before noon, as they're pre-packaged and the inventive ones go fast. Overall, the prices for all food compare very, very favorably to other Downtown Crossing spots. They'd be a four-star spot, except that they continue to give me Chicken Caesar wraps in which they unleash amazing amounts of Caesar dressing... we're talking puddles dripping out the bottom and forming pools on the paper wrapper. Today I even asked for "easy on the dressing" and, sure enough, the girl amazingly slathered it on like Hurricane Katrina. What's with that? Don't they ever ask themselves, "would I want to eat pure Caesar dressing?" read more

I really want to give five stars to this restaurant, but I can only give four because this restaurant is only open on weekdays from 11 AM to 3 PM, which really baffles me. Despite that it is only open on a typical lunchtime schedule during the typical working days, it is a great place to eat at. The food also comes really fast, making it one of the fastest take out pizza places I have been to in Boston so far. The pepperoni pizza is really good. After chewing on the crust, you can taste that it is almost fresh out of the oven, and it is so chewy. It is probably one of the best pizzas I have eaten. When I worked in Downtown Crossing, the office sometimes chooses this place whenever they want a pizza party. I had the Chicken Parmesan pastas and sandwiches, and I thought the Chicken Parmesan sandwich was great. The small Chicken Parmesan pasta dish was okay, good enough to fill up one person. I think if you ordered the larger size, it will fill you up more. Make sure to take a roll of bread with you (you do not need to pay extra) when buying a dish. It's really fresh, good, and chewy. I would definitely come back to Viga again for lunch if I ever return to working in the Downtown Crossing or Financial District area. The only problem is that the hours are not good. I really, really want to give this place five stars but the hours are what's holding me back. However, I believe this place is the best take out pizza place in Boston. read more

Been to this location a few times when doing Union errands for my work. This location is alright but I'm more used to the Pi Alley area. This set up is a little different and smaller, I feel more comfortable over down Pi Alley. With that being said, great establishment though. Cheap salads, I give that an A++. Under $3 for a side salad and bread, thats a great lunch. I've only ever gotten the salads here and the Steak Fra Diavlo wrap, yummy. No onions though, they load them up too much (not a fan). Def a place to stop by though when trying to figure out a quick (very speedy service) lunch on a busy work schedule. The only downside to them is they kinda rush you at the register, and you feel a little overwhelmed when they're like NEXT! And you're still trying to get your money back in your wallet and your bag zipped. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I ordered catering through Viga and they told me that they would supply us with a buffalo chicken platter that was enough to feed 150 people. When the platter came, there were more sliced vegetables on the platter than chicken. It wasn't even enough chicken to feed 25 people! When I sent an email to Sofia who is in charge of catering, there was no response so I followed up a week later. Her response to not responding was: "I didn't Reply to your email but I did show your email to my manager and actually he asked me to give you time. But do have you in my to call list." As you can imagine, this only further enraged me. Why would I need "time" Is that going to change the amount of people their platter fed? Not only was this the worst purchase, their customer service was even worse. Everyone in my company is now aware not to get food there and I have made sure to tell everyone else I know. read more

Viga is my #! place for lunch in Boston's financial district. Will usually order either the Milano (grilled chicken) or Pavorati (italian meat) sandwiches, but will also get Viga's pizza on occasion, too. Great portions, great prices, and in my experience consistently good food. Viga can get very, if not extremely busy at lunch time, but that speaks to its reputation. Viga also offers a "frequent customer" card deducting either $3 or $5 off the price depending on the number of card-punches accumulated. Buy-one/get-one free pizza slices before noon, and special deals on Tuesdays. Even more of a reason to go! GIve Viga a try, I think you'll like it. read more

My two favorites are the chicken salad (best in the city in my opinion, maybe with pesto?) and the chicken sandwich with tomato and avacado. Just awesome. I would give Viga 4 stars if their food was more consistent. On some days, it's amazing, other days it comes short. This place is always packed during lunch but the line goes really fast. These people get you in and out in no time. They have specials for every day of the week to give you variety from their regular menu. Some of my favorite items to order: Penne Alla Viga (spicy creamy pasta with tomatoes and ham) - Monday special Chicken & Broccoli Pasta - Friday special Chicken Blanco Pizza (chicken & broccoli) - Thursday special Buffalo Chicken Wrap - regular menu item. Their small pasta looks compact, but is quite filling. The slices of pizza are huge. All the specials are around $4 (small pasta or slice of pizza) or less. Wraps are around $6. Don't forget to get your frequent customer card hole punched at the cashier. After going there 5x, you get $3 off your next meal. Come another 5x after and get $5 off. I cannot go into Viga when on days when work is sucking the life out of me and I hate everyone. From the lady who cut in front of the pasta line by pretending she was going for pizza; and the guy who had never been there before and didn't know the Viga ways; to the dude who just wanted to hang out next to his friends with his large pizza box while they were paying, just for fun and then hit me with the box as he realized he was way bigger with it and couldn't fit; I was going to go postal today. Otherwise, I got back to my desk and happily ate the $3.55 pasta special with a free roll. The pasta had just been made, so it was nice and hot and fresh. Every sandwich I've tried has been a knockout, and a friend who I recently brought here confessed to planning her next visit days in advance. Beware the long lines, but most importantly, make sure you're in the right one for the food you want! Lunch time goodness. Second time here and I'm a fan of the Thursday Special - Stuffed Chicken. Thanks for letting me have the option of not having sauce on my pasta. Don't let the words "small container" deceive you..it is A LOT of food and they pack the container. The bread (Wheat or Regular) they give you on the side is warm and soft. Viga may seem intimidating as it gets quite busy during lunch and everything happens at a very fast pace. But just pay attention to which line you get into because there are different lines for the pasta, pizza, and sandwiches/salads and you'll walk out with a delicious lunch. read more

Oh Viga. You are always there for me when I need you. Don't know where to go? You are always a fantastic fall back with cheap, fresh and a wide variety of options. Don't feel like walking? You are literally right across the street from my office so minimal shitty weather needs to be dealt with in order to obtain you. The meal deals cannot be beat in the FiDi and Downtown Crossing area. For about $6 you get either a slice of pizza, half a sammie or a small (pfff.. small. it's not small) helping of your choice of pasta, a drink, bread, and a salad. I thought I was in a hunger hallucination when I saw this first. The service is always lightning fast, they really move quick. All in all, I can't say anything bad about Viga and it will continue to be my go to spot. Not to mention they have a fresh, shiny, new black paint job for the exterior. Oh you fancy huh? read more

These people have always been polite, courteous and pleasant to deal with throughout the years when I have needed something for a work event. I should have written a review a long time ago! What they did today definitely deserves recognition!! We ordered 50 pizzas from another place and they never showed up. So, I ran over to Viga's and another place desperately looking for replacements (only went to another place cause I knew Viga - or any other place for that matter - could not get me 50 pizzas in 45 minutes time). The other place helped me out but was shocked, stunned and hesitant to help me out. And I get that. Asking for an order of 25 pizzas not in advance is tough to do. Viga though did not hesitate for a second. The gentleman got his people right to work before I had even paid and although I came to pick it up cause it was needed so quickly, they still found someone to come with me, put the pizza in heating bags and walked over with me and even helped me distribute the pizzas onto the tables (on two different floors) for the already starving people in line waiting for them. Viga has always gone out of their way delivering extra customer service whether I am going in for something just for myself, getting pizzas for an event like today or when they have catered our big annual summer or winter events that we put on for ~500 people.
