Stopped by here for breakfast with a friend on a Sunday. Surprisingly we were one of the only tables there. The location's decor is a bit dated but the food and service were great. They have a combination of breakfast items and each come with a side of Cuban toast and cafe con leche. I had the eggs over easy with the croquetas - excellent offering! read more

Great food and service. Also the atmosphere beats most other cuban restaurants down here--except Versailles of course. I had the lechón asado and it was delicious. I came here with my family after my granddaughter's baptism. I had called ahead and made plans with the owner for a family of 23. I said I would be there by 3pm. The owner said he was ready for us at 11am. Lol talk about a person that cares about his guests and establishment! The staff was very helpful and accommodating. And the food, omg! Now I remember why I never go to Molina's. I mean... between my last time there and the one before that, it was more than five years? At least I think. Anyway, we went randomly one night. My companion ordered a chicken dish, I think, and was just fine with it. What he had wanted to drink though, they were out of. Whatever - no big deal except it took two waiters to find this out as they were giving out contrary info. The service was slower than watching paint dry. I had a chicken noodle soup and it was pretty bland, but hey, it got my cold to go away faster, so I'm not going to complain much. As usual for this type of restaurant, they give you complimentary Cuban bread. This was probably the best part. Well, that and the prices. They are affordable. I just think it's one of those places I won't go out of my way for - it's sad, too, as I'm a Hialeah resident and I want to support local businesses. read more

We went for lunch to celebrate the life of Madrina, this was a favorite place of hers. We ordered the Boliche Special and Masa de Puerco Fritas. Both dishes came with Moros & Maduros. The Boliche was moist and fork tender, and a nice size slice of meat. It was not stuffed. The sauce was flavorful. The Pork was crisp on the outside, moist in the inside. Moros and Maduros were good. Flan de Queso Crema, for dessert to die for. Melt in your mouth stuff. Cuban coffee ended the meal. Service was friendly and prompt. read more

Molina's restaurant is good. Great cafeteria/ restaurant in Hialeah. I have been coming here for years and until now Yelp reminded me that I hadn't written a review. Molina's is a big Cuban style restaurant with a full bar. Visited mostly by locals and business people in the area, molina's provides great service and a good menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Eventhough I have been here many times I usually only have the roast pork with moros. This "moro" rice is very good here, it is moist and garnished with small fried belly pieces... delicious. Overall anything you order is pretty good; big portions, cold beer and good service are what makes this place what it is. Definitely give it a try. read more

My family and I came here for lunch and everything from service to the food was great! Very fresh and hot when it came out not over cooked it was just right. I'm so glad I decided to give them a try!! I was really feeling for some authentic Cuban food and this spot nailed it. Due to COVID-19 they are offering outdoor dining and ensures that seatings are distance apart. The outdoor area is covered and they also have fans going to keep it cool. The customer service is superb!! The waiters were friendly nice and ensures to check in on us to see if we needed anything. The menu has a lot of options to choose from and delicious authentic juices. We ordered the fried chicken with rice and beans and tostones and the chicken Milanesa. The fried chicken was not breaded, and the skin was super crispy and well seasoned . It was so yummy. The chicken Milanesa had a creamy cheese sauce. The beans were seasoned to perfection and went well with the amazing white rice . The prices were reasonable and the service was quick . The menu has a few dessert options. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and had an excellent experience. There is easy parking in the attached parking lot. They have a window to order coffee or snacks. I saw people coming inside to get carry out. The restaurant is very nice inside and staff is dressed professionally. I was expecting a casual Cuban cafe it was definitely much nicer. Our server brought us toasted Cuban rolls with butter. I had the roast pork. At $12.95 it is a great deal. The pork was fresh, flavorful, and tender. It came with a layer of pork skin on top that was crunchy. You get a choice of yuca or plantains. The black beans were flavorful and creamy. My friend had the steak sandwich, It came with multiple slices of fresh tomato, romaine lettuce and was served on toasted Cuban bread. It was served with little potato chip fries. It was a good deal at $7.95. Our server kept our drinks full without us asking. Overall, an excellent experience! read more

I recently went to this restaurant for my first time and what a disappointment. Went during lunch time and order the lunch special of grilled chicken, congri, and maduro. The chicken had such a weird taste, it seemed like it was cooked with old oil or oil used to cook pork because it was just not the typical grilled chicken taste. For being one of "the best" Cuban restaurants in Hialeah it was a huge disappointment. read more

Went there for the special of the day...oxtail. This is one of the better ones I've tried in Miami but just a tiny bit on the greasy side which is a deal breaker for me and the reason why I have a few faves elsewhere. Other than that, the maduros(sweet fried plantains) are home made which is awesome because a lot of Cuban places opt for the frozen one and it's not the same. Service was top notch, very attentive, welcoming and friendly waiters at the time of visit. Ambiance is casual and good for families and the prices are reasonable. read more

The fried fish was excellent and we had it with white rice and red beans - superb. The fried plantains were very good. The price was surprisingly low for the full portions we got, desserts and Cuban expresso. For the three of us it cost $48. Total. Your restaurant is slowly dying I asked if they have toast NO! The waiter said but then he brought me small breads that he could have easily made a toast with. The food BLAND the ambiance is as if you just entered a funeral home. Dead the chicken soup had ZERO taste they put spaghetti in the soup like the spaghetti you eat with meat in Italian food. The short story: the food made me instantly sick, fish isn't fresh, everything tastes like old oil (mentioned by several other reviewers), and management will tell you not to come back if you dare to complain. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go elsewhere. The long story: This place used to be good but is now absolute garbage. Frankly, I think it should investigated by the Department of Health. My parents ordered arroz con pollo which was cold and a much smaller portion than usual but generally fine. I unfortunately ordered a fish that was so vile it made me sick after eating maybe a third of it. The fish was not fresh, and half of it was exceptionally hard and chewy. The tostones tasted and smelled like old dirty/burnt oil. While I was sick in the bathroom, my parents called over the manager. He was rude and annoyed but ultimately took the fish off the bill and charged us $14 for the tostones and vegetable sides, which we did not have a problem with even though the tostones were gross. I then ran to the restroom a second time because I was sick. When I came out, the manager approached the table holding my plate (that had already been cleared about 15 minutes earlier), and began yelling at me that the fish was fine and that I ate almost half of it. I explained to him that the fish wasn't fresh, tasted weird, was chewy and hard, and the tostones (I only had half of one) tasted of burnt oil. He was not at all sympathetic that the food made me sick; instead, he loudly announced that we should never step foot in the restaurant again if we feel that way. (And to be clear, out of a $24 dish, we paid $14 for the sides - so it's not like they even took the full plate off the bill.) Suffice it to say, this manager needs a lesson in customer service. My parents have been going there (including to their previous location) for over 30 years, but we will never step foot in this establishment again. Another note: they now charge for bread, and also charge a service fee for paying with credit card. Pretty obnoxious for a Cuban restaurant in the middle of Hialeah. read more

Feeling nastalgic for some good Cuban food and weary of the copious amounts of food heaped on a plate at Havana Harry's I ventured to a once venerable institution: Molina's. We went on a Saturday night around 700ish and we thought for a minute it was closed. There were few patrons and we had a choice of seats. Our waiter took our order bistec a la milanesa without the tomato sauce, morros and maduros. The steak is your standard Cuban restaurant 1/2 a cow size and the servings were good. At first blush I noticed that the morros were really the red bean variety from Santiago Province. Ok no biggie, like I said I was jonesing for nostalgia. I took a bite of the bistec and the salt content blew me away. It was a miracle I didn't stroke out right there and then. For foodies high salt is indicative of two things: 1) cook doesn't know how to season; or 2) preserve slow moving meat/poultry dishes. I think it could've been both judging from the sparsity of patrons. My wife left 2/3 of her plate as she had the same issue. No questions from the server. We then ordered arroz con leche. We were brought leche con arroz. Such a soupy mix it was akin to a soup. We sent it back and they took it off the bill. Molinas felt tired, worn living on its past. Sometimes nostalgia looks better in the rear view mirror. It did tonight as I drove south on LeJeune back home eager to take my blood pressure medicine. read more

It was a nice scenery and the staff was polite. The drinks were nice, fresh, and tasty. And don't let me get started about the Cuban bread and butter. It was delicious and they gave you as much as you wanted. Last but not least, the food was affordable. My friend had the chicken in sauce, rice and beans, sweet plantains, and fresh Tamarind juice. I have not been here in 10 years. I visited twice last week for lunch. I went early, and I was one of perhaps 5-7 people in the place. Not exactly a busy restaurant. My, how things have gone downhill. The ONLY good thing is the mariquitas/mojo appetizer. They are outstanding; truly the best ever. Thin, crisp, not oily, an nice and garlicy. Everything else is in dire need of improvement. Let us start with the service. The waiter (same one both times, dang it) is annoyed that his valuable time is wasted on us customers. I should have sent up a flare to get this guy's attention. Visit #1: Tuesday. Met a friend for lunch. The boliche was super tender, but flavorless. How do they eliminate flavor from boliche? This is also the first time that I have seen boliche come without a nice rich, dark, brown sauce. Rather, they serve a thin, watery sauce. The moros were so dry, The cafecito was serve without foam, without sugar, and was quite watery. Wow! In Hialeah, I think that is actually illegal. It was crapola. My friend had fish, and that was dry too. Visit #2: Thursday. Just me. Or was it Wednesday? Whatever. It was last week, and I would already like to forget this place. Piccadillo. Flavorless and feeble. Black beans - separate from the rice this time, at my request, were also flavorless. Geez, Cuban food is known for flavor. Sazon! Sazon? Why is the serving staff so p*ssed off? Are they upset at the world? Maybe Molina's has changed ownership; that usually starts the downfall. If you want AVERAGE Cuban food and a serving staff that is annoyed that you dared to show up, this is your place. Great service, great food, & great prices. My family was in town and had plans to eat here. I've never really scoped out the Hialeah area so I was weary on the place. When we arrived, this place was busy! You can tell this is a place locals come to have lunch with their entire family and have good conversation. Before I got here, I already knew I wanted mariquitas, arroz moro, milanesa de pollo, and maduros since it's what I always eat at a Cuban restaurant. I didn't see the milanesa de pollo on the menu, but I was able to request it with no problem. Our server and the other servers were very attentive and made sure everyone in our party was satisfied while waiting for our meal. When the food came, I noticed everyone at our table ordered Moro rice LMAO. I'm telling you, it was WELL worth it! They put fresh chicharron in the rice and it gives it such a great texture and crunch with each bite. The milanesa was great, as well. It usually comes with ham, cheese, and marinara, but theirs didn't have ham. I'm not sure if the maduros were fresh, but they still tasted pretty good! The mariquitas where prefectly fried and the salsita de ajo it came with was the best! I wanted to order another side of it just to eat with my entree! The servers all helped to clean up our table and even boxed up the leftovers for us. I'm hoping to be in the area again to eat some more delicious entrees. read more

This is my second time at Molina's. The first time was for breakfast. This time was for lunch! I ordered fried shrimp & tostones. I got about 8 shrimp and 5 tostones. It was delicious but very expensive!! The shrimp & tostones cost me $16.75 plus tax and tip!!! Shit!! The shrimp was sooo good though! Was it worth it? I don't know but those shrimp were certainly yummy!! The place was packed so we sat at the bar. The waitress didn't speak English but I was with a friend who translated for me. Service was fast and friendly. It doesn't get much better than that. After thinking about it, I'd get the shrimp again regardless of how expensive it was. It was really good! Great place for kids/ families/ big parties. We came in a Saturday 11:30am with 2 little ones and everyone was lovely and very attentive! We ordered the kids chicken tenders with fries and it was fresh and delicious. We ordered lechon and bistec de palomilla, both were fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back often (especially since Versailles isn't good, so excited we found a great Cuban place!). read more

Back to Molina's Ranch for 2nd try. 5:45 pm on a Friday night. Got seated right away and was served water, Cuban bread rolls and butter instead of the traditional pressed Cuban bread. That was ok but needed to be much warmer. I prefer the pressed bread. Server ( Julio ) did a great job. My wife asked for a recommendation on the seafood menu. He said the Filete Pescado Camaron ( A small fillet of snapper in a white sauce that included small shrimp with white rice and 1 side ) $ 13.95. Very good. I ordered Churrasco Molinas ( skirt steak ) cooked medium rare with 1 side $20.50. The meat was not very tender and stringy. I have had better for a cheaper price. The small container of Chimichurri Sauce was mostly liquid. For dissert, Julio recommended Flan de Queso (Cream Cheese Flan) $ 5.50 Very good, but pricey for it's small size. Nice place to eat. JUAN is the best server! Was a little confused trying to find parking as I accidentally went into an auto shop, the entrance of this restaurant was located on the other side where it states Banquet Hall outside. Walked in and had my temperature checked before allowed to walk in further into the dining area. I let the waiter know I was going to chill here for 2 hours as I waited for my next home tour, he genuinely seemed not to mind and assured me I could eat/work at my pace. As someone who frequently takes out their laptop to work, its nicer when waiters are not dying for you to leave so they can move on to the next customers. Now on to food: I tried ham croquetta first and they were really made well. Unlike the bread (which was room temp & served in a plastic basket) the croquetas were very hot and were served on a hot plate as well. The croquetas were firm enough not to budge when picked up but extremely soft after the first bite. Ham was creamy and tasted great. After this I was brought the Tostones Rellenos de Camaron or Shrimp stuffed plantains. I thought this sounded neat when I read it on the menu. It honestly tastes exactly what it sounds like aside from the delicious seasoning they add on top of it. It came with a few items (not listed on the menu) that I personally was not crazy about; I let my waiter know and he happily took the plate and brought it back out as if it was originally made the way I wanted it, with a smile. AWESOME! Next up was main course which was exquisite. I had the 1/4 Fried chicken which was very very filling since it had 3 sides. Chicken was extremely juicy and delicious, skin was crispy, no breading. Yum. Fries were fresh as well and rice was extremely sticky which is how I personally love it. I ended my meal here with a cuban coffee that they brought out within 5 minutes of it being requested. Really enjoyed my experience here. I'll attempt to explain why I'm giving Molina Ranch two stars and my waiter a 15% tip. Yes, I can be harsh to a Hialeah restaurant! Like most folks in the Republic of Hialeah, I heard about how this place is better than the better known Cuban spots and our abuelas' kitchens. Based on my experience this afternoon, I have to disagree. For starters, I was served only two rolls (not even Cuban bread, so minus one for authenticity.) Most Cuban restaurants' baby Churrasco is large enough to not have me hungry two hours later. Yet, although my baby churrasco was tasty and the chimichurri had a nice kick to it, "tengo hambre" as I'm writing this. The sweet plantains were ripe and sweet, and the moros were a little on the dry side and small on the portion. Even the creme Brulee was unspectacular, as the crust wasn't crispy how I like it. The kicker, and what ensured my low rating, was that my waiter didn't come around to ask about the good until the end. Sorry Rancho Molina, vete pa'ya! read more

I am shocked at the additional charges. They now charge a dollar for the bread provided before dinner, meal prices having increased drastically, and they also charge an additional fee for paying with a credit card. My favorite appetizer is now over a dollar per item. I paid $37 for 3 appetizer...ridiculous! The serving staff, many of whom have been longstanding, seem miserable and it shows in the lack of quality customer service they used to provide in the past. I have been eating at this restaurant for over 30 years. I started eating there back when they were a small establishment across the street. I just ate there tonight and I asked to speak to the manager to share my and concerns, and the manager never came to my table. I live in Broward now and this restaurant is no longer worth the drive for me. read more
