Please be aware of this bar. I had a few drinks there last night. I handed my credit card to the bartender and even invited a father and son from Wales next to me for a drink. The next thing I realized, my wallet was stolen. I reported the theft to the bartender and the manager, but they were unhelpful. They immediately accused me of bothering the hookers and their clients next to me, even though I never spoke to them. They asked me to leave the bar right away. Shortly after, I discovered that my credit cards had been charged thousands of dollars. The manager and the thieves are working together. Please hold your wallet tightly. Such a great little pub. Service is Irish. Meaning they will treat you like family, and joke with you as well. The food is nice and hardy. Bartender is a gas, meaning hilarious. I don't want to get her in trouble with anything she said, but we were having a right laugh. We will definitely come back here if we are in the area just for the camaraderie and ambiance. Finished a great night of touring New York here. The place was lit up with folks who just came back from Billy Joel's 150th show at Madison Square Garden and the end of his residency. What a great spot, and it's located right next store to MSG, so a great place to stop when going to a concert. I recently went to see Depeche Mode at MSG with a friend. I was super excited to stop by here as my husband use to frequent this spot in his younger days. (LOL) We each got a double drink before heading into the show, as well as, a bite to eat. This place is deadly grand! We visited this fine Irish pub before going to a Madison Square Garden concert- a stone's throw away. The management is smart and plays the music of the MSG headliner to get you in the mood for the show. Just a block and a half from Penn, we had no trouble finding a table just before noon. We were greeted warmly by the staff, and shown to our table. We both had the Irish Breakfast. It was an absolutely huge plate of food! It was also really good. The sausages and the black pudding were my favorites. We had some good coffee and stayed quite a long time. The staff would check in from time to time, but they really left us to chat. We never felt rushed. This pub is very close to Madison Square Garden. Prior to attending a concert recently, my wife and I stopped in for dinner and drinks. The restaurant has a very nice bar and we found the food very good. We both had the French onion soup which was excellent. My wife had a salad and I had the corned beef sandwich with fries. Pair that with a couple of Harp's for me and Pinot Grigio for my wife and it was perfect before heading to MSG. My only issue is how rushed we were to finish and give up the table. I get it that the restaurant can't have customers just sit there when people are waiting for tables, but they took it to an extreme. Right after we were served our food, the owner or manager was checking on the status of where we were. We barely finished eating and the server cleared the table. Like I said, I get it that tables need to be turned over, but they just made it very uncomfortable. read more

It's a no frills Irish pub we wandered into the other weekend. I've personally never been here and had walked by and wondered about it. I think it's probably convenient for shows and games at Madison Square Gardens because it doesn't seem like the type of place that gets typically packed. But the prices are apt for MSG. Most of everything on tap was at $9 and I made the mistake of getting a hard seltzer can that was priced at $10. Yikes. The food looked and smelled good. Someone at the bar had ordered some kind of lamb or pork dish and mashed potatoes that were requested to be covered in melted cheese and at the time I thought that was a genius maneuver. Why have I never requested this? Cute old fashioned juke box. It's definitely a huge Rangers bar. I appreciate places that are focused on hockey as opposed to soccer or football. Brendan Shannahan's jersey is sitting on the wall. You know, that time when he became a traitor to the Red Wings and joined the dark side. Wait staff is efficient and often from Ireland, so we ask them which county there are from, and the answer is usually in the Clare/Limerick/Kerry range. The food here never lets you down. Most recently, I got a shepherd's pie and Donna got a Reuben - both excellent. The decor reminds me that we are due to make another farewell trip to Ireland. Recommended. read more

This was the second time I dined here. This time I was with my daughter after Comic Con, last time with my wife before a concert. I ordered the Molly Wee Burger with Sautéed onions, mushrooms, bacon and choice of cheese and my daughter had the Veggie Burger, both came with fries. I asked for the beer specials and our waitress told me a few and then just brought me one of them without me telling her which I wanted. I believe it was a Miller, it was ok. I guess there was a miscommunication. She was the same waitress we had last time I was there with my wife and she was much better before, more polite and friendly but just as efficient. It was after 9 PM and I guess her patience was shot, I'm sure that can happen on a Saturday night so I give her some latitude. Overall it is a nice pub with the décor you would expect and the food was great, our food came in a timely manor and was hot and tasty. A group of us came here to watch a football game and while we were happy with the amount of tv screens showing the game and the service, the food was a different story. Being an Irish bar I figured that ordering the appetizer sampler would be a safe bet but this was not the case. The mozzarella sticks and pretty much everything tasted like they came straight from a packet and were heated and then reheated in the microwave prior to them serving them to us. I was a little disappointed in the food. It was a little salty which surprised me. On the up side, the bar is defiantly a cool place for drinks and just steps away from the subway!! This Irish Pub in midtown, was recommended to us by The Art Director of Urban Stages. They serve American Fare, and is home to Knicks && Rangers fans. Our party of 4 came here in between show times at the Urban Stage Theatre, and was well taken care of, although the place was packed, we never even waited to be seated. Our waitress was humorous and attentive, as was who seemed to be the owner or manager. I would definitely comeback, the place is moderately priced considering the location, and is most certainly a place to come kick back and relax.
