We are at this food truck when it was parked in brewery central in Ballard. Firstly, the menu is simple, which I appreciate, as it cuts down on all the decisions you have to make. We all got Banh Mi sandwiches, which I felt were super reasonably priced at $9.25. The food came out very quickly and I have to admit, I was blown away by this sandwich. I ordered the rice bowl with lemongrass tofu. The food was flavorful (hence the 3 stars) but I was really disappointed to find two pieces of meat mixed in with my tofu. Would definitely not recommend this place to people who don't eat meat. read more

This is one of my new favorite food trucks in the Seattle area. High quality food. Here's a rundown on what I've had: -Banh Mi (with pork) -- 10/10, a fantastic banh mi with a good amount of meat. The pickled veggies are fresh and the bread is soft but flaky on the outside. Will definitely be ordering again. -Kabocha Curry (with tofu) -- 7/10, tofu is very good, somewhat lackluster in the vegetable department (only a few pieces of kabocha, some green and red pepper). The sauce is a little thin for my tastes, and somewhat oily. There's decent flavor but zero heat (not that it's advertised as spicy at all, but I wish it had a little kick). Next time I will probably try it with chicken. --Cripsy Garlic Chicken (with white rice) -- 7/10, chicken itself is 10/10--perfectly crispy and juicy, and flavorful, but there's no sauce (other than what the chicken itself is coated in) and so it's just white rice and some side salad. If I were to order again I'd try this with the chili garlic noodles ($2 more) instead. --Flank steak (as a side) -- 9/10, this is normally meant to be an add-on for a banh mi, but I asked for it as a side on its own. Really yummy steak strips that are already marinated, so I just ate them straight out of the box. While they'd also be good in a banh mi, I think the banh mi is best served with the pork (though I bet tofu would work well too, assuming it's the same style of fried tofu I had in my curry) --Egg Roll (single) -- 10/10, crispy and stuffed to the brim with ground pork filling. Next time I'm getting 4! Want to try: --Potstickers --Chili Garlic Noodle TL;DR: Follow MomoXpress on IG (@momoxpressfoodtruck), look at their weekly schedule (part of their IG stories) and go when they are scheduled to be in your area and give them some business. You'll be happy you did! read more

Stopped at this food truck when it was parked across the street from our apartment. Luckily I got to it before the lunchtime rush, it certainly seems to be a popular truck. Everything was delicious, and it's nice that they take Apple Pay. They also give you the handheld buzzers to let you know when your food is ready. Momo catered a baby shower for 45 people and the food was incredible - people were raving. We had fresh tofu spring rolls, fried pork egg rolls, crispy garlic chicken, chicken and tofu banh mi sandwiches, and tofu and beef vermicelli noodles with oodles of fresh greens, fish sauce and peanut sauce. Duy, the owner, was easy to communicate with, gave us good advice on portions, and arrived right on time for set up. Would highly recommend! read more

WOW what a find!! I'm Vietnamese and this food is NGON AF -- that's delicious in Viet! My husband discovered this by driving by the truck in Ballard, and ordered com thit nuong (rice with grilled pork), bo luc lac (shaken beef), and banh mi. The food is legit, authentic, and so tasty flavorful!! Soo much umami. Makes me miss my home Southern California. So glad they're in truck form so that I can enjoy delicious Viet food in North Seattle outside of the International District, which is a further drive. I highly recommend Momo and will be following them around from now on. read more

I feel like I was lowballed on my order from last week. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and I remember it being $13, I only got a scoop of rice and a small portion of the SSC. I unfortunately did not take a picture of it. Don't get me wrong though, it was pretty good. But the amount of food I got was probably $7 at best. read more

The pictures of this place look great- I mean even their Tofu looks stunning! So, I was roped in, and made arrangements to give it a shot when they were nearby my work. I suppose I will says they deserve points for being "fresh", because I waited exactly 15 minutes from the time the charge went through in my phone to the time they called my name. However, for a food truck when I'm visiting on my 30 minute lunch break, the amount of time I am left with to return to my office and actually eat was 5 minutes. I was not pleased. (There was one man in front of me.... that's it. He ordered a tofu bowl.... and he also waited 15 minutes....) I got the pineapple chicken. During the 5 minutes I had to sample my food, I found it lacking any flavor. The texture was good- the chicken not over fried or tough, but just no flavor at all. I ate the rest of my meal in bites over the next half hour, but it didn't change the flavor. I don't recommend trying this spot unless you have ample time. And I don't recommend the pineapple chicken. read more

I wasn't expecting much from the look of the truck but man. Food was amazing. I got egg rolls and kabocha curry with baguette. The egg rolls were stuffed with taro, pork, vermicelli noodles and were excellently spiced. The kabocha curry is creamy and delicious and I loved switching it up and having it with a baguette. Not only did my husband (who claimed he wasn't hungry) dig in but my picky toddler did too! read more

I had a great experience with Momo Express - we brought them to our campus to cater lunch one day for a large workshop we were hosting. Their catering menu was diverse enough to meet most dietary restrictions and they were able to adapt on the fly for couple of folks that had more complicated sensitivities. The team was lovely to work with, and the food was awesome. I had the vermicelli salad but heard rave reviews about the chicken rice bowls and the banh mi. Momo express was parked outside my doctor's office so I thought I'd see where they ranked on my quest for the best banh mi in Seattle. I got the lemongrass pork. The meat was really flavorful and there were ample veggies. However the bread was lacking. It was soft and chewy - I was missing the crunch you'll find at other shops in town. Bonus points for having deep fried pot stickers but demerits for them looking as if they were straight from a bag bought from Costco. read more

We ate at this food truck outside of a pub, it was there and we were hungry. I was suspicious at the time but didn't want to make a scene, but I went back and checked on the menu after the fact-- I paid $6 for the gyoza which is supposed to come with six piece, but we only received 3 (tiny) pieces of gyoza. The food was okay, but a total ripoff when you consider spending $25 for a bahn mi and 3 tiny gyozas. Food was edible but I don't recommend. read more

Momo express is fantastic. I ordered a pork banh mi, and a tofu vermicelli bowl. Both were amazing. The owner was extremely nice, and recommended adding a fried egg to my banh mi (I asked him what the best thing he made was). The egg was fantastic on the banh mi, and the pork was marinated and cooked perfectly. The tofu almost looked like chicken, it was so good, and both were great portions. This food truck comes regularly to the parking lot of the Broadview Tap House, 125th/Greenhood. Anyway, I'm sitting here now, chillin with a beer, and I'm groovin' with a Bahn Mi (sp?) Sammy. Sometimes it's easy to to get crazy on a Yelp review of a place, but that is not my intent. Please take this as things to consider improving on. For a food truck you have a fairly diverse menu, and it all sounds SUPER tasty! The service was with a smile, and order was ready QUICK. My main thought is that the Bahn Mi, is really underwhelming. Baguette is toasted well, but try to find an artisan bakery baguette.. this looks a little like something from Hostess/Wonder bread, etc. you want CHEWY, scratch your hard palette etc. Your Bahn Mi internals are basically just chicken, cucumber, cilantro, maybe? A little onion? However... this is #1 tip!! You gotta put fried egg on it, and some kind of secret sauce! Some kinda Vietnamese secret sauce. And... yours is awfully SKINNY! Stack this thing up! It should be falling out the sides. Currently when Bahn mi is closed, you cannot see anything from the inside. It just looks like a piece of Baguette. Right now the Sammy is just chicken, cilantro, and cucumber.. it tastes SORTA like a Bahn Mi, if you dream.. but it is dry, and needs Vietnamese secret sauce. And the fried egg is like the star on a Christmas tree. OK, I'm still in your court. I will return and try something different. read more

Two stars is probably generous, but I save one-star reviews for the truly heinous dining experiences. Ordered from the food truck in Shoreline today: squash curry with chicken, short rib banh mi, potstickers, and egg rolls. For close to $50 (with tip), I was expecting something good. The appetizers were definitely not homemade, and waaaaay overpriced for their one-bite proportions. The curry was described as meh-to-adequate and on the meager side. The sandwich was hands down the worst banh mi I've ever not finished. Flavorless bread. Beef with the consistency of a grade school eraser. Soggy, warm veg. Just bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Established in 2019.

Growing up in Ho Chi Minh City, I ate some of the best and freshest Asian street food in the world. I have memories of indulging in a bowl of Pho Bo — beef noodle soup, bursting with umami flavors, and bitting into a lemongrass pork Banh Mi on my way home from school. These memories and my passion for food have inspired me to create Momo Express, named after my cat, Momo. Through my business, I want to bring a modern take on traditional Vietnamese street food to every corner of Seattle.

Upon arrival to our house, the order was incorrect, whoopsie! We called back and the waiter who answered mentioned that we had accidentally taken a staff meal home. None of our to-go boxes were labeled. How could anyone know? This is a rookie mistake. It's been a while since this Goblin worked in food, but that's a non-negotiable. Especially given a place that prides itself on catering to restricted diets and lifestyles. This is exactly how you let a pumpkin seed slide into a seed allergy order. Instead of letting us keep the meal, she asked us to bring it back to the restaurant. We were happy to do so. Everyone deserves to eat. Should we have kept it for ourselves? We bring the food back, and the waiter explains that there was a mixup, and apologized. They handed us another to-go box (which wasn't labeled) and tried to end the conversation. "Have a good night!" We had to then explain to this waiter that our wives demanded something in return for the error, which was true. The waiter/bartender had a puzzled look on their face. Customer? Demanding I make something right? In my workplace?! A direct statement void of passivity about the quality of my service? With conditions? The audacity! We live in a world where we, the customer, bring back your incorrect order for you, waste our time, and we just get a, "thanks, have a good night!" This goblin had to claw his way up the ranks pillaging for gold which doesn't come easy. Everyone knows food cost in Seattle went up ~%46 since 2019. Wages haven't. We told the waiter our wives wanted a slice of cake. The waiter was shook by our audacity, and moved towards the fridge behind the bar to consult with two chefs who were shutting it down. We were arriving near/at close on a Monday. The other two chefs body language exuded "just give them the rest of the cake". There was a couple moments of pause and hushed conversation. The waiter pulled out a large serving plate with only a small chunk of Chocolate Mousse Cake left. Instead of putting that into a box, apologizing, and fixing the problem. They conferred about the legitimacy of our claim with the chefs. Hesitantly, they cut the cake into a small slice, put it in a box (which wasn't labeled) and handed it to us. What's hilarious is that they would leave such a small piece going into the next day of prep. Why not just 86 it right there? Why was it so hard for this person to acknowledge they made a mistake, and do something kind for us in return? The chefs clearly understood these fundamental building blocks of customer service, had they not been there in the front of house, I'm sure the waiter would've made an excuse to not remedy the situation. From all of my years in food service, if something is wrong, you make it right, end of story. By owning the error, you keep your integrity. Even a small gesture like 10% off one item, between the hours of 7:35pm- 7:45pm every third Monday, however inconsequential and trivial, makes people feel like you've made things right. These basics need to be addressed with FOH staff. With food cost nearing the price of rent each month in Seattle, customers should feel empowered to speak their mind respectfully. My only reason for going into excruciating detail is the hope that this can be a teaching moment, and more people can eradicate passivity. Passivity is a threat to community, culture, service, and so many other integral parts of our society. It's OK to disagree in public. It's OK to check someone. It's OK to tell your server "No, honestly, it wasn't that good, here's why..". When we deny the truth about our experiences for fear of disrupting the status quo, we withhold an essential part of building stronger, more diverse and resilient communities. "Goblin D, don't you think this is a bit too deep for a food review?" No, and if you've made it this far, the two stars are for the two chefs who made sure we got our cake.

The first sip of the Cardi B, my eyes rolled back, and I nodded to how good it was. It's not too sweet (I ordered all of this online on their website for pick up and was not able to ask for it half sweet, but glad they didn't over-sweeten it). The cardamom flavor is prominent, so if you don't like that flavor, I'd choose something else. I also ordered some breakfast items. I got the Lil' Verda, which is a breakfast burrito on a flour tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado, and salsa verde ( I also added sausage to it). It's pretty tasty! It's a big burrito for being on a medium flour tortilla. I got the fiancé a breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun (you can choose what bread you want; they even have gluten-free) that came with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and I added bacon for him (adding a meat was only $2, which is reasonable). As I said, I pre-ordered everything on their online ordering system. My order was ready when I got there as promised. The staff member who helped me was super nice and pointed out where the hot sauce (Tapatio) and straws were. They do have separate windows for ordering and pickup. If you order online, just head to the pick-up window. It is a little spendy (breakfast sandwich w/ added meat $10.75, burrito w/ added sausage $12.75, and two espresso drinks at roughly $8 and some change), however, everything is going up in price (Gas is up to $5.09 +), so take that as you will. Overall, it's a cute little spot nestled in a neighborhood. There is street parking, but it's in an area that isn't too hard to find parking, as it is further away from the very busy spots of West Seattle. I'd come back, perhaps take the fiancée there so we can enjoy it fresh.

The waitress was annoyed when we asked for a refill and said those aren't free and took ten minutes to return with another. Table next to us had to stand up to finally get their bill. It took the male manager to ask me if I've been helped before someone came over. I was going to leave. Then I noticed the ice cream line was lime and the young lady, Asian, was do her best to keep up while 3 others on that wide were also gathered laughing it up and offered her no help. Summer is here and I really hope they have discussions with their employees about customer service. It would be really nad business to lose customers because of lazy employees that are more concerned with socializing with each other. In this tough economy it is important to receive good service for money spent. Molly Moon is down the street with impeccable service it would be ashame to lose good business to them.

Finally made it to Phe after seeing all the debate about which café has the best matcha in Seattle…read more For me, this one takes the top spot--easily the best matcha I've had in Seattle so far. What I really loved is that the matcha isn't overwhelmed by milk. The tea itself is the star, giving it a rich, balanced flavor that really shines through. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I also loved the cute décor and drinkware--it adds to the overall experience. During my visits, I tried the banana pudding matcha, the sesame foam Vietnamese coffee, and the hojicha. Everything was excellent, and I'd happily order any of them again. They also offer a small selection of bites to pair with your drink. I didn't try any myself, but my friend enjoyed what they ordered. Seating is limited, especially on weekends, but it's also the perfect place to grab a drink to go. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it to any matcha lover.

There is seating indoors, but the tables can fill up quickly. Some people were wfh, but most were chatting. There is 1 hr complimentary WiFi. Typical Seattle street parking. Overall, the latte flavors were fun to try and it was an aesthetic cafe. But, the prices for the lattes make them more of a novel, hyped up purchase.

Before my flight, I decided to stop at Salty's for breakfast. I'm a sucker for crab, but I wasn't especially hungry, so I ordered a cup of the chowder with crab. It turned out to be one of the best cups of chowder I've ever had--rich, flavorful, and loaded with crab. I sat at the bar, where Joyce took great care of me. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made an otherwise difficult day a little easier. Great service can make a real difference, and she absolutely delivered. Salty's isn't the cheapest dining option at SEA, but between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the outstanding service, I think it's well worth it. If you're looking for a great meal before your flight, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

No introduction, no recommendations, no plates cleared. When I asked for something as simple as pepper, I got attitude, like I was putting her out. I typically tip 25%. I left 15% and honestly felt that was generous for what I received. At these prices, the food needs to be executed properly and the service needs to match. The chowder alone isn't enough to carry a $60+ meal. Would I come back? Maybe for a cup of chowder at the bar. Not for the full experience.

Came in on a Friday night and learned that Old Stove Brewing gets busy for a reason! The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
