I love Thai food and I love spice. Be careful with your spice here. Do not try to be brave. A 5 for them could easily be someone else's 10. I got the lunch special with Pad See-ew with shrimp. The special come with a soup, Thai salad which is some sliced veggies and a wedge of orange, egg roll and gyoza. The soup has a very light taste. Refreshing but addictive. You feel like you're not eating anything but you want to eat more. The pad see-ew was just what I hoped it would be. Portion for lunch special is very generous. I got a to-go box and finished it later. It was pretty busy during lunch time but the staff was still very attentive and on top of everything. Highly recommend to call ahead to reserve a table if they are busy! Ordered yellow curry with brown rice - the rice looked more like a very dark purple forbidden rice, but was tasty. Yellow curry was a bit thin (diluted with too much chicken broth) then I like, but had very nice sweet flavor. Pad Thai was savory and tangy with fresh grilled shrimp! It's my first time here and I ordered take out. Service & Atmosphere: Service was good -- the person helping me was polite, and the interior looked clean. They even had chairs set up for people waiting for their to-go orders, which was a nice touch. Food: I usually order the same dishes when I try new Thai restaurants, so I went with Chicken Pad See-Ew, Chicken Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Green Curry. The Pad See-Ew was the standout. It was flavorful and cooked just right -- definitely the best of the three dishes (4.5/5). The Thai Fried Rice was also solid, made with long grain rice just the way it should be (4.5/5). Unfortunately, the Green Curry was a big miss. When I opened it, I was surprised by how unnaturally green it was -- almost like Easter egg dye. Even the chicken and bamboo shoots had turned green from it. On top of that, the rice was soggy and clumpy, almost like Cal-Rose rice cooked with too much water, which isn't typical for Thai food. My partner had the Beef Pad Thai (level 3) and it was on the spicier side for him. (Spice is 1-10) I ordered the Beef Tiger Cry - Medium Rare served with a bowl of white rice. Calamari was nice, cheese won ton had a good amount of cheese. The tempura shrimp & spring roll was pretty basic like frozen goods, but still good and I'd order again Drunken Noodle was great Beef dish was tender and flavorful Ocean Seafood dish was good, however sweeter than I would like it to be so I can do without it next time. Definitely did not fit our $50 Lunch Date for two budget. We ordered 4 items, why 4 items and there was only two of us.... there wasn't enough protein on the Panang Curry Chicken. Not worth the cost. So we added another protein, Angel Wings, which was over cooked like a jerky. It's basically 4 pieces of deep fried chicken wings. The Angel Wings that we know is supposed to be stuffed Chicken Wings with diced chicken meat, glass noodles and some vegetables inside. We were not sure why they call their fried chicken wings Angel Wings and they were not even stuffed wings. Our total bill was almost $90 for 4 items. On average, each item would cost $22.50 with tax and tips. Their pricing is like a fine dining restaurant in downtown or UTC. $22.59 per item on a neighborhood restaurant (in RB) is super expensive. The Pad Thai and Panang Chicken were very average. Not worth $22 per item. The Angel Wing was not the stuffed wings so this one is also expensive. The crab rice was unique with crispy crabmeat. At $22, this is the only item that we enjoyed the most. Check out the photos and tell me if they are worth $90. They need to adapt to their environment and adjust their pricing based on their location. In my opinion, a neighborhood restaurant should not have the same pricing as a restaurant located at Gaslamp or UTC mall especially if the taste is just average. read more

We just moved to Rancho Bernardo and we have tried two other Thai restaurants in area. This is our favorite. We ordered the Pork Larb salad and it was very flavorful and was a nice portion.
