We met some friends for breakfast at Mom's this morning. The food, service, and ambiance were perfect. It was an ideal place to visit with old out of town friends. The server even asked us before taking our order if we were ready to order or if we'd like to chat awhile first. Dan and I both got 2 eggs over medium with hash browns, biscuits and gravy and meat. He got ham and I got extra crispy bacon. I noticed the server high lighted extra crispy and I appreciated that because it came out perfect. I've never seen bacon that looked better and it was delicious. Our friends got the same thing except they got country fries instead of hash browns. They said they were really good. Next time I go to Mom's that's what I will get. You just have to know the restaurant to know which is better, hash browns or country fries. I've had country fries that were dry and not very tasty, but Mom's country fries looked excellent and our friends raved about them. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, but just under the crispy top were shredded potatoes with no crisp at all. Another of my favorite restaurants serves hash browns crispy all the way through but the country fries are not so good. The gravy at Mom's is thick and creamy, just as I like. The entire breakfast was good. We will be back. read more

The food here has always been tasty with very large portions -- enough to bring home leftovers. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit, I found a piece of glass in my food. At first, I thought it was a pebble, but it turned out to be glass. This was not only disappointing but also unsafe. We popped in after church on a whim. Every time we drive by, the place is hopping, so we've been curious for a while. The place was busy, but we found a table without issue. It's a standard diner interior- very casual and comfortable- sort of fast paced. All 4 of us had breakfast. I had a waffle with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. My husband had a skillet with potatoes, eggs, and chicken fried steak and a biscuit with gravy. It was tons of food, and 2lwe both left with enough to feed us each and entire second meal. Our oldest got a waffle with sausage, and our youngest had the kids pancakes with eggs and sausage. Again, it was a good amount of food, and no one left hungry. Absolutely impressed with MFD!! Came for our first time to have breakfast and it was OUTSTANDING! My meat lover's skillet was enough to feed me three times over No Joking. I had a so much I took some home and shared with my husband Lol he cleared his plate and so did our son lol Service was great and the food came out so quickly I was surprised. I was looking for a place to relax and kill about 1.5 hours while having lunch. To my surprise, Mom's was close by and does breakfast all day. Additionally, they have a pancake and egg combo that caught my eye. It also came with sausage and hash browns which I ordered crispy. I was not disappointed with the food. Eggs over medium...what can you say. These had the runny yolk and perfectly done whites I desired. The pancakes were large, fluffy and filled a second plate. They could have been hotter since my butter did not melt quickly. Still they tasted good. The hash brown were done well with a generous portion. The ambiance is diner with booths and tables. The only area I found lacking was follow-up from the server. My coffee was only refilled once despite the cup sitting on the table edge. So, 5 stars for the food. I would go back. But, I would aggressively encourage the server to not let my coffee grow cold much less be depleted. read more

I called to make a togo order. Come to pick up my order and go back to work. I ordered the catfish dinner and used the drop box menu to check prices. It said it was $9.99. Upon arrival i am charged $17.34. For ONE piece of undercook and under seasoned catfish. I did get a loaded baked potato that added $2 to my total. When i called back after picking up my food i spoke to Abraham the manager, to express how unhappy i am about the price and amount of food I received. He informed me that the total on the menu was not right and i was charged $12.99 for my ONE piece of catfish and three hushpuppies. Now my whole lunch break has been wasted for subpar overpriced food. Abraham offered no solution to appease my frustration. I used to enjoy eating at Moms dinner with family on sundays. I already knew this was one of the best breakfast places in Tulsa from previous experience. Tonight I stopped in for dinner and had a very good Reuben sandwich. I've had piled high Reuben sandwiches in Skokie, IL when I worked in Chicago for a year, so I know a good Reuben when I see one. The sandwich on grilled wheat came to me with beer battered fries, all steaming hot and tasty. The Thousand Islands dressing was served as a side and I got to decide how much to apply. I had black coffee with my meal and it was fresh and perfect. This place is well named. The food is as comforting as mom used to make. With meals like chicken fried steak, fried catfish, and liver and onions, I'm going to make this place a regular. My server was efficient and attentive. Her daughter was the cashier. Although I primarily thought of this place as a breakfast spot, if I'm in the area and I'm hungry, I will be drawn to this restaurant like a magnet. You can feel the love in this place. read more

Moms is a friendly environment with some pretty decent breakfast food! The portions were much larger than expected, tasty, and the sever was very polite and also checked on us frequently. It can get packed, but that's also a good sign and even fellow patrons were polite and kind about us having a baby that wasn't in the mood to be in public. I ordered the egg white omelette with a biscuit with gravy and fried potatoes (so many potatoes!), and although the square slice of cheese looked odd melted on top it was very good, and I'll likely order it again. Our waitress was excellent, and even though a plate slid, and almost fell, she caught it and continued to serve us even with gravy all down her shirt, and came back cleaned up with a new plate and wasn't phased. It was also nice to see an establishment that flew our nations colors proudly, and even had the typical old vet at the bar having his coffee and reading the news. The only reason it wasn't five stars is because of no baby seat mounts and I had to hold his car seat on the bench the entire time. The fact that I keep coming back should tell you a lot, because I've been called a finicky SOB on more than one occasion. (but she's my wife, and I still love her) Breakfasts are always solid, regardless of what you get. Lunch's are generally good as well, but I tend to land on either a salad or a chicken fried steak for lunch. I know.... poles apart, but that's me. The place is hopping for breakfast, so you might have to wait a minute or two, but the servers hustle their butts off, so it doesn't take long.
