My curiosity has lead me here to solve the mystery on why Tim's Diner is still Phill's Diner on Yelp. Tim is a long time customer of Phill's Diner. Phill sold the restaurant to Tim after owning the place for 23 years in 2020 when COVID hits its peak. After buying the place, Tim has never bothered to change the name on Yelp but the name has been changed to Tim's Diner on Google. The best thing about this diner is all the original staffs continue to work for the establishment bringing over their experiences as well of plenty of attitudes. All the employees are a little of "older" age and I love that. The only thing I don't like here is the tip system. You pay at the cashier in the front who will ask you if you would like to add a tip then the cashier would add a tip in for you and you don't have to sign anything. I prefer if they just charge me for the amount and give me the merchant copy and I can add a tip in myself. The way they're doing it puts pressure on their customers to tip. This diner has Tim's $8 favorites menu which is one of the best features, making breakfast very affordable. The food is delicious.

We stopped in Tim's for breakfast since we were in the area. It's a typical diner with a lot of regulars. But the prices are great! As we arrived we were greeted by a waitress who seated us at a booth. We ordered a cinnamon roll to start. It came out warm, with the icing melted all over (and it was huge)! Can't be beat for $3.50. We also enjoyed breakfast meals, which came with hash browns along with a biscuit and gravy. If you're in midtown and looking for traditional breakfast in a diner atmosphere, then Tim's is it!

We love going to Tim's! They have the best toast, biscuits and gravy and omelets around! The service is always amazing and everyone is always so nice, and it is such a clean diner with a great homey feeling. We will be going back time after time.

What a wonderful little find! This is what I refer to as a hole in the wall! Food and service were outstanding! We had breakfast but will absolutely come back for lunch!

Came here for the cinnamon rolls but I found out they only baked them during the week so on a Saturday they are mostly gone but had to try the chicken fried steak with eggs and was real good will try to come back during the week to try the cinnamon rolls.

Really good diner food. You know exactly what you're going to get, and you are greeted by a very welcoming waiting staff. The cinnamon roll was crisp on the outside but soft in the middle, and our meal came out hot, yummy, and incredibly fast.

A hidden gem! True diner with true diner prices. Can't beat it. Skip the overpriced brunch downtown and come to Tim's!

Great breakfast options and friendly staff. It's not called Phill's anymore, though. It's been Tim's for a while.

We were welcomed by the manager and Reima our waitress was very sweet and helpful! We could tell there were a lot of repeat customers. The diners were enjoying their food and the servers seemed happy to be there. They seemed to enjoy talking to their regulars. I got chicken fried chicken and Dan got chicken fried steak. Both were good, but mine was better. That might be because I always prefer chicken fried chicken. The way the Brookside diner prepares chicken fried chicken is outstanding. I got a large piece of chicken that filled my plate. It was also thick. Some diners pound thin pieces of chicken to the point it's so thin that it is overdone in the time it takes to get the breading crisp. Not Brookside. They produce a perfect chicken fried chicken, nice and crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. I noticed a chalk board listing the specials. The day we were there, it was meatloaf. I also noticed some tempting deserts which I plan to get when I don't eat such a large meal. I enjoyed my experience at the Brookside Diner. Looking forward to our next visit.

It was served steaming with a steak knife on the side, which told me it had been microwaved to heat it up. A warm cinnamon roll is hard to beat, but one that has been overheated is a challenge to cut and chew (remember the steak knife?). I'd prefer to have it cold rather than too hot. Otherwise the service was good considering the restaurant was packed with a Sunday morning breakfast crowd.

We went on a Thursday afternoon at 4:00, so we didn't expect it to be busy. There were a few people there but not a bunch. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and shown to a booth. Our waitress brought our menus and silverware right behind the hostess. She asked if we knew what we wanted to drink and I ordered Decaf Coffee. My wife deferred to later once she knew what she was going to eat. The coffee arrived a few minutes later and I placed my order for the Belgian Waffle, 2 eggs scrambled, Hash Browns, and 2 Sausage Links. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict and a side of biscuits and gravy and regular coffee. First before I forget, I am somewhat of a portly fellow. I carry about 70 pounds more than my doctor likes, and it's all right above my belt. Remember that the hostess put us in a booth, which usually is a challenge for me, because of my extra tire that I carry. But I was pleasantly surprised that this booth was spacious. It had plenty of room for us extra large folks without trying to move the table. The coffee, was good. Remember that I drink decaf coffee, so when I say it was good, thats saying a lot. I even asked the waitress if she had forgotten and brought me regular coffee and she assured me it was decaf. When the food arrived, I was so impressed by how good it looked, I forgot to take a photo, so the attached photo shows what was left when I was full. The waffle was the main thing I was after. I love waffles, and it's hard to find a good waffle. The menu claims they are Belgian Waffles, and I cannot disagree. They tasted like the Belgian Waffles I had in Paris, so I believe they are. The has browns normally don't rate a mention, but these hash browns were soft and not crunchy, and tasted like I expected hash browns to taste, from the first bite to the last. The eggs were scrambled well, which I would have preferred loose, but that's my fault for not specifying. I also ordered link sausage which was cooked as it should be. Next time I'll order bacon. The reason I avoided the bacon is that most places either burn it or leave it partially raw. Based on how the rest of my meal was cooked, I expect the bacon will be cooked right. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.
