This diner to me was a great place with great staff. Paul the owner does a great job with the place making sure the food is fresh and that everything goes out hot. This is my dad and me favorite diner!!! Glassboro needed a good diner like this with good food. They have a well stocked bar and they accept Rowan bucks. The seafood dinners are great and the breakfast is awesome too. A nice patio too with booths and tables inside diner. They also have steaks and chops and a vegan menu with lots of choices. It is always crowded but you do not wait long for a table. We love it here!!! read more

My dad and I love this diner. Excellent food and excellent service. His diner is our go to diner eating here feels like home. My mom died of this year, and Paul, Raphael, Ollie and Amanda were very kind to us. It hard on the holidays to lose someone that we loved, but coming here has made it somewhat easier. The food is great the staff is wonderful. The seafood dinners are tasty but so are the chicken, steaks and chops. Glassboro is now a college town and on the weekends it gets pretty crowded but the if you're waiting it will not be long for you to get a seat. Parking can be pretty hectic through. Also I forgot to mention they have great cheesecakes and their carrot cake is tops too. I wish the rating on yelp was better here because people are missing a great restaurant with great service. read more

Went for Sunday brunch/ lunch around 1:45 and easily got a table for 5. Got the Turkey BLTA on a gluten free cauliflower panini. The gluten free panini was thin but delicious. Much better than most gluten free bread options I've had at restaurants in the past. No avocado on the sandwich but otherwise was good. None of us who got sandwiches got coleslaw or a pickle, but I guess you have to specifically ask for that? Two others in our party got breakfast and while the eggs were good the breakfast potatoes were very undercooked. Would go back but would just be selective about what I ordered. we came in and were seated immediately, very nice staff and our waitress was attentive. the churro french toast sticks are really good i would definitely recommend but unfortunately our home fries didn't come on a separate plate like we had asked for so i was unable to try them (i'm a vegetarian and my fiancée ordered meat). otherwise very satisfied with the food, wish i got to try more of it. read more

We had lunch today at Monarch. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I had French onion soup, which was good with lots of cheese. The gyro was good and the French fries were plentiful. As a vegan, I really appreciate the large menu they have for vegans & vegetarians. It's always very good & the generous portions always gives me 2 more meals at home. The service has always been great & the waitstaff are friendly & knowledgeable about the food. The kitchen does a good job of getting the food out quickly. The place is always neat and clean, inside and out & very handicapped friendly. The dining area in the back has a step to get to it. I was impressed to see 2 employees set up a portable ramp they keep hidden somewhere & happily push a wheelchair bound woman up the ramp & right to her table. Visiting a girlfriend in Sewell, New Jersey and we ate here after she picked me up from the airport. I am from So. Cal and we don't have "diners" like here in the East Coast. The menu is like a book ! Not 2 or 3 pages like Denny's or Norm's. I ate a Breakfast Taco. I guess it was like a breakfast burrito but open faced. Was quite tasty. Took home a cannoli which I missed eating since I moved from the East Coast to the West. Cannolis are hard to find so its for sure if I'm visiting any city in the East and they have cannoli's I'm getting it. Service is very good. Friendly and always available if need refills or extra napkins etc. This is the second diner I ate at in New Jersey. And never disappointed. read more

Monarch Diner is the latest restaurant opened by the former owners of Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township. Lamp Post was one of my long time favorite diners but it has gone down hill since it was sold. So, I'm thrilled to see the old owners back again with Monarch. The menu is even very much the same. It's a bright and clean diner with friendly staff that serves up a ton of standard diner fare with some unique dishes thrown in for good measure. My personal favorite, a carryover from the glory days of Lamp Post, is the "mile-high meatloaf." It consists of slices of meatloaf layered with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, onion straws and barbecue sauce. It's so nice to again be able to get this dish made as it should be! Of course, as any diner should, they do their baking on premises and serve breakfast all day. The only downside is that they're not open 24 hours. Lamp Post isn't either though, so this is not a surprise. I anticipate that this diner will do great in my old college stomping ground of Glassboro and I'm glad it's still not far too from home for me since I've already been back few times. read more

Everything was great. We upgraded one meal for 4 bucks to "premium"...which gets you soup and salad plus any desert from the case in the front...well worth the value. Went to the Monarch last night for a light dinner. Ordered a turkey club and their sea food bisque. The turkey club was fair but the soup, well they should have called it fish bisque. I think there was one half of a tiny shrimp the rest was chunks of fish probably for Friday night fish special. I will say the staff was wonderful. read more

I had the beef stew today with bean soup. Both were EXCELLENT !! Very tender meat and vegetables in the stew, better than Mom's. Bean soup also tasted like Mom's. So I take the dessert home, rice pudding, a big let down. Bland no taste, no vanilla flavor and the rice was hard. I ate about 1/4 and threw the rest out. What a shame. If the rice pudding was good it would be a 5 star review. read more

Recently I was at the newly opened Monarch Diner. The Monarch Diner was updated from PB's Diner and Taproom. New ownership and brand new look (in a good way). Atmosphere: I arrived on a Friday for dinner, and it was busy. There was already a wait. The outside is a cobblestone building with a touch of modern flair, while the inside has plenty of booths, tables, and a full length bar. It's much brighter than PB's Diner and Taproom, and it's much more "diner". Coffee: B The Monarch Diner serve local Lacas coffee which was awesome. I could have used more refills, but other than that, it was good. Food: The menu at the Monarch Diner is huge. It's also one of the most unique diner menus I've ever seen. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there is an entire page of options.  The Monarch Diner also has the ability to sub regular bread for cauliflower bread. I've never seen that a restaurant, let alone diner, so I had to try it. For my appetizer, I decided to order the grilled Meditteranean platter. It came with grilled squash, eggplant, cauliflower pita points, hummus, and tzatziki sauce. It was good. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. I didn't know what to expect from the cauliflower pita but it was delicious and I have no complaints. For my entree, I ordered the BLT on cauliflower bread.  It was a $3 upcharge, but I was so fascinated by it, that I decided I had too. The BLT was stuffed with plenty of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and even avocado. The cauliflower bread was good, and truthfully I couldn't taste much of a difference. I asked to substitute the fries for a side salad, but they said that wasn't an option, so I just chose one of the side vegetables. I was surprised I couldn't but not the end of the world. Dessert: I chose a chocolate pie to go. The chocolate pie was delicious. It had plenty of whipped cream and pudding, and I have no complaints.  While not cake, and not usually something I would order, the whipped cream called my name. We all know if it has whipped cream, I will probably like it. Service: The waitress was nice, and our food came out quickly. In all, it was a great diner. I always appreciate it when the manager (or maybe owner) walks around to see how the meal was. This isn't an inexpensive diner, but the food is good. read more

Food for half the table was good . When we complained the bourbon chicken was not good they said they would take it off but have to charge for the soup and salad and cheese cake. They still charged me the $4 to four coarse the meal. I ended up paying $1 more than if I left the horrible meal on the check. They are over priced for the area.. I will never go there again. Extremely impressed with this establishment. They've done an awesome job remodeling the place inside and out. The menu is very extensive! This was the 3rd time we've been here and service was great every time. Twice we got breakfast foods and we love how there is more than just the typical diner breakfast menu. They're brunch specials even come with a mimosa! I also thought it was pretty cool how they have cauliflower bread as an option. Speaking of bread, we came one night for appetizers and they served a basket of bread including pieces of banana bread & corn bread along with the basic rolls. I want to support this diner and my go to sandwich is the Turkey Club at any diner. I specifically asked if it was deli "wet" formed turkey breast or in house roasted real turkey. They assured me it was the latter because that's what I wanted and expected. It was not. I also asked to replace the French Fries with Home Fries that is on their menu. They gave me French Fries. They were luke warm and most were soggy. I realize with take out this will happen rapidly but the oil they were fried in tasted old too. I realize the diner closes at 9:00 p.m. so maybe they had run out of home fries for the day; I just would have preferred they let me know so I could have gotten another choice. The bacon was cold and chewy but the bread, lettuce and tomato were good. My husband asked fir a specific type of Wrap and he said it was just okay. He wanted the home fries too but got the French fries instead. We did get a slice each of carrot and chocolate cake and they were good. I may try them again once the pandemic is under control for dine in. read more

I called to place an order. Only to be told to go to there website and set up an account to place an order. I placed my order and when it arrived there was (3) orders of bacon missing. The food was great aside from the NY Strip being very acidy and cooked medium instead of rare, but I blame that on the awful service. The waitress we got was despondent and passive-aggressive, we felt rushed to order and received little attention after we were served. When our food arrived she was very rude to me for clearing the center of the table instead of the side, for reasons beyond my imagining. She made no effort to clear dishes from our table, so we had a difficult time maneuvering to eat. My mom wanted more coffee, but over the course of our half-hour lunch no extra coffee was brought out. Throughout the course of my lunch we were under assault by 8 flys, and all the staff did was watch us as we swatted at the flys. It ruined the meal and we ended up getting boxes and leaving to finish our meals somewhere we could actually see our food through the flys. read more

My co worker and I took two friends out for their birthday last night. We all got food poisoning not long after we left. The food is good. We do take out from this place once a week on average. BUT, they put salad dressing on our salad half of the time but I always ask for it on the side. Ok, people make mistakes. But tonight, 9/10/21, when I called back to tell them the did it again, I talked to the manager, a lady that couldn't stop talking over me, and she just kept saying the same thing over and over again over top of me trying to talk. This young lady has NO clue how to deal with people. Even when asked if I could talk now, she jumped right back in telling me the same old story only with an attitude like I did something wrong. She has no business being in charge of a restaurant if she can't even LISTEN to a customer. The waitress that put the dinner together came out and she told me her side of the story, with a smile, and that was great. People make mistakes. No problem with her. read more
