We ate there this evening. It was not crowded when we arrived but the staff really paid no attention to the arriving customers. We waited to be seated, and finally one of us had to go to the back counter and ask for someone to come to the front to seat people. The individual grabbed menus, and without even a greeting said, "follow me" , tosed the menus on the table and just walked away. Our server was nice, but really didn't quite get our orders straight. We asked for forks, and finally got them as we were finishing. Our server never checked back to see if there was anything we wanted, or needed. The pizzas were OK one though was not truly hot when served, another had the wrong ingredients. Tastewise, I would rate the pizza pretty much on a step above Papa Murphy's, but I have had better at Pizza Hut. This was our first visit to Monicals Pizza, not sure if we'll ever go back. read more

Given that im not a indiana native, i dont have any regional cultural appreciation for Monicals, and therefore, not biased in any way. Ive been to this location a few times for large group meetings. We generally reserve the back room, or at least give them a heads up that we're coming, as there can be anywhere from 12-30+ people. there was one other family in there besides our group. the only think i can think of is that they forgot about us coming last night. There was about 24 or so of us. the first people to get there, about 20 minutes prior to our set time, found the staff completely unprepared. When i say staff, i mean the only 2 visible people there. Im guessing there was about 1 person in the kitchen as well. The waiter seemed to be a total n00b. we waited about 20 minutes, then had to flag him down to get our drink orders in. ~20+ minutes later, our drinks are delivered. so we're up to about a 45 minutes and we've just got our drinks. seeing the direction this was going, we flag him down again, and the group puts in their orders. first 2 tables get their apps, and the 4th table too, which came in after, and ordered after the table i was at. Table 2's salad was messed up, and had to be sent back 4 times. Who messes up a salad 4 times in a row? waiting, waiting some more.. 90 minutes now, and we've had enough. I tell the (im assuming supervisor?) to cancel our order, we're headed to taco bell, we've had enough of a wait. I did ask for the check for the drinks, but he waived us off. which is reasonable. He looked like he had enough, too. I did not eat there last night, obvs, but i have on 2 previous occasions. one was the GF pizza, and the other was a salad. The salad looked like something from a grade school cafeteria. not worth the $6 it cost. The pizza was ok, but nothing to write home about. I'd rather go to wise guys on Allisonville. read more

Food was great! Had the baked Ravioli half order trust me was plenty to eat! Hubby got the Lasagna! The food was delivered on time. Still hot received plates silverware and plenty of napkins! Will definitely order again! read more

However, the initial telephone encounter was complete with friendliness, while the delivery was quick and courteous, but I did not care for the lasagna at all. Tha atmosphere was nice here. Plenty of big booths.It also has a back room perfect for kids birthday parties. The peparollies are a perfect appetizer, try them! It's been hard finding delicious pizza since I moved to Indiana, but if I had to choose a place that is "pretty good" it would be Monical's. They have a lunch special everyday that isn't always clearly specified on their menu, but you can get a small pizza for $6.69 (including tax), I consistently get the Margarhita pizza. My reasoning for 4 stars is because when I ordered it for pickup they said it would be 20 minutes, but when I got there at 12:30 on a Saturday the place was empty and we still had to wait a while for it to be ready. Otherwise, the pizza is good and you can choose between pan crust or thin crust! read more

I want to give this more stars because our pizza was really good, but we were there for lunch and the place looked like it just hosted a party. The tables needed to be wiped down and the bathroom was out of toilet paper and this was all within an hour of the place opening. This place could easily warrant more stars given the taste of the pizza but all I could wonder was whether or not they bothered to clean the kitchen given the state of the areas where they allow customers. read more

So you have to love thin crust pizza to love Monicals - and this was traditional delicious Monicals with super crunchy thin crust. Make sure you get the dressing to dip the pizza in! We also tried the gluten-free crust for the first time. It's pretty much the same as any gluten free crust you get - not the traditional Monicals goodness at all. While recently visiting Indianapolis, my family tried to order a pizza from Monical's. After ordering via phone, we went to Monical's when the pizza was supposed to be ready (20 minutes later). We were immediately told that the pizza was still in the oven, but we were ignored for the next 25 minutes. We then asked again, and someone said that the pizza was 'in the oven.' After waiting almost an hour since the initial phone call, we did not have time to wait anymore, and let them know that we had to leave. They apologized and refunded our money, but still did not have our pizza or offer a voucher to make up for the wasted time. During this experience, we also had food waiting to be picked up at a different restaurant, which was cold by the time we got there. I don't have a review on the food because I still have not eaten Monical's pizza, and this experience has turned me off from wanting to try it. read more

Another great experience at Monical's Pizza with my family! Our server was a really nice young women who engaged in polite small talk with our table. We happened to talk about how I grew up in southern Michigan, and it was a wonderful coincidence to hear that our server is headed to Michigan next year! Our pizza was wonderful as well as my daughter LOVED the breadsticks and I thought that the Deluxe had the PERFECT amount of spice. This place is just so so. You go in wanting it to feel hip and inviting but the vibe left me rather disappointed. After we waited a couple minutes to be seated we asked for a booth. The waiter had to walk us past a few other seats until he could find one that was clean for us. The service was prompt but lacked being inviting. I ordered a hot Sicilian sandwich which was pretty good. However for $11 I can't justify it being served with a bag of Lay's potato chips. My fiancé got a salad that for the price was sub par. I've tried the pizza here before and wasn't impressed by that either. All this place is is a money pit. They have low quility food at premium prices. I can think of other places near by that would cost the same but I'd be much happier. Go elsewhere to get a better value. read more

Horrible service over the weekend. I went it and ordered pizza. They claim the individual pleaser price is $2.99. When the bill came it was $4.19 for the drink and salad. They refused to give me the discount. They said they would discount the pizza. I was still overcharged 1.50. Avoid this place. They are crooks. read more

My husband, who was working in Indy, went in there last night. He ordered a beer, 2 breadsticks, and a pizza. An hour later he still did not have food. He told them to cancel the order. The manager told he had to pay for all of it. When he refused, then said they were calling the police... he said, "go ahead." When the police came, they agreed with my husband. Monical's is my fave pizza. I love a good thin crust. They nail it...super thin and crispy. The service is adequate...she'll take your order, bring it out, and check on you. No smothering you. Big fan of that. Go for lunch, get the personal pleaser which includes an 8 in pizza, salad, and drink. As a secret tip...get the house dressing called tart and tangy which is like french and dip your pizza in it. Sounds gross right? You owe it to yourself to at least try one little dip of it. When you do, and love it....well....I told you so. Another tip. ..pass on the water here, there's a taste. read more

My first visit was for a late lunch today. I'm picky about where I eat and found Monical's to be clean and service attentive. I enjoyed the "one person" special: 8" in pizza, drink and small salad. The thin crust Florentine pizza was great and came quickly. Salad was cold and substantial. For $9 it was a terrific bargain. So many pizza spots have less than acceptable reviews so I was glad to find Monical's close to me. Oh - great music choices: Creedance Clearwater, Sting, Michael Jackson, Beatles. After having to eat pizza and other Italian style favorites from all the franchises, I was ready for some real Italian Food, Sadly, Monical's did not delivery. Their Chicken Parm-style sandwich had bits of chicken in it (ala a cheap sandwich shop and stuff from the freezer - style) instead of a nicely breaded chicken fillet that had been deep fried (sorry, we are from NYC and expect Italian Food to taste like traditional Italian Food and be properly prepared). The Meatball sandwich was a little better, but only as good as Subway and it cost a lot more. The Mozzarella sticks were raw and tasteless. Arby's has better Mozzarella cheese sticks that taste great and are cheaper. When we asked how the cheese sticks were cooked we were told on a moving line style cooker (???). I am guessing that means they were not deep fried and from the sad taste these had to have come straight from the freezer to whatever cooker they use. This place is way too expensive for what you get and what we got was not very good. read more

Visited this establishment on January 4. 2016. Prompt seating and drink delivery. However, the waitress, named TEMPLE (I would not recommend her), was extremely quiet -barely over a whisper. The customer service was horrible, not just from the waitress, but the staff in general. There were only three tables of guests, including us, but we counted 7 workers. I watched our waitress MICROWAVE our breadsticks, and then MICROWAVE the other table's orders of breadsticks. That is unacceptable. It took them over 25 minutes to even put our pizza in the oven, and when it was done it sat on the counter in clear view for ten minutes while TEMPLE lazily leaned against the front counter with her back to the guests at the door. The pizza was good, I guess. But for $7 of breadsticks I would expect them to at least be made fresh. I can microwave food at home. I wouldn't waste my money here again. They should really employ some workers who actually care about customer service. read more
