Moni's Pizza and Pasta on W. Randol Mill, in Arlington, Texas, is a neighborhood gem. My Wife and I just got back from a great dinner at Family owned & operated Moni's. We had a small Pepperoni Pizza (12") as an appetizer (taking half of it home). The pizza was awesome. Crust was crisp and chewy. Sauce was classic pomodoro. There was plenty of Mozzerella & Parmesan, and the slices of Pepperoni just made us happy. So good! We also had an order of Calamari (fried). The calamari was perfect, crisp fried coating and tender, juicy calamari rings underneath, accompanied by a delicious marinara. My Wife had Moni's Fettuccine Leonardo. She gave me a taste. Wow. Soooo very delicious. Fettuccine noodles cooked perfectly, were served in a sauce of butter, cream, Canadian bacon, sweet onions, ground pepper, and Parmesan cheese. I had the Veal Piccata. It was good, but not great. The Veal scaloppine was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The pasta was a great palette upon which to showcase the Piccata sauce. However, I'm used to much less Piccata sauce, usually EVOO/Butter with dry white wine (reduced), lemon, onion, garlic, Italian parsley, & capers. Moni's Piccata sauce also had what tasted like veal broth with a little corn starch for thickening. It was good, but, I prefer less sauce, and no broth. We had two spectacular desserts, a Lemoncello Cake and a Cannoli. Wow. So very tasty and a great way to finish the meal. Service, courtesy of Austin, was spectacular, professional, and personable. BYOW. Bring your favorite bottle of vino with you, and Moni's will uncork and serve (thank you for reminding me, Nicki!). Reservations can be made for parties of six or more. The owner came by to visit, inquire about our satisfaction with their cuisine & service, and chat for a bit (always appreciated). Moni's was packed. Folks in Arlington know how very delicious their meals are, and what great value Moni's offers too. I cannot wait to go back to Moni's Pizza and Pasta on W. I've been here a couple times now and have never left disappointed. The food is excellent, pricing is great, there's ample seating and the staff is top-notch. The manager (owner?) would give you the shirt off her back to ensure you have a good meal... I've had multiple dishes, from Chicken Florentine (my fav), lasagna, shrimp plates, salmon specials, and even the pizza. My wife and I were craving Italian food and didn't want to cook. We put our thinking caps on and decided to head over to one of our favorite restaurants, Moni's Pasta & Pizza. Fortunately, it's only a short 10-minute drive from home. Moni's has a wonderful vibe of a local neighborhood restaurant. It's not fancy, which wouldn't fit it, but comfortable to just sit and enjoy a great meal with friends or family. They do have a couple of private rooms. , Moni's is much like the "Cheers" bar on TV. They have a very loyal clientele. Moni and his wife Amy, know everyone who comes in. If they don't know you, they'll get to know you very quickly. After being seated by Amy and, of course, chatting to find out what's been going on, our server, AJ, also welcomed us to Moni's and took our drink orders. Moni's is BYOB; you'll see many of their patrons bringing wine to accompany their dinners. My wife and I ordered a couple of iced teas and a bowl of their seasoned dipping sauce. I love dipping Moni's freshly baked rolls in it. It's "rich" with lots of chopped fresh garlic. Yummy! My wife ordered her "regular" Chicken Parmesan, her favorite. Sometimes she orders the lasagna, but today was a Chicken Parm day. I decided to order the Pasta Combo, which includes Lasagna, Stuffed Shells, and a Manicotti in our delicious homemade marinara sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese. It included three of my baked favorites. Shortly, fresh-baked rolls and butter, along with the olive oil dipping sauce and our salads topped with Moni's famous red Italian Dressings. I love Moni's salads, which are normally served on chilled plates. You'll find the restaurant's dressing at many other restaurants that Moni has helped to get started. Amy and Moni have very big hearts. Just as we were finishing our salads, deliciousness arrived at our table. Note, come hungry, there's a lot of doggie bags requested when patrons can't finish their entrees. My wife and I have to watch ourselves so we don't eat too much bread. I have read several suggestions to go try this place out and a few friends suggested it so we had to checkout this local Italian food restaurant and we are glad we did! We already planned our next visit and what we will try new time. We started with fried calamari (light crispy batter... so good!) and it came with a big lemon wedge (I prefer) and marinara (he prefers) so that was a great touch. (We ate before I thought of pictures ) I ordered manicotti with Alfredo sauce and he ordered the sausage pepper platter. Mine was super rich and creamy and he said his tasted authentic. We met up with family and friends here. Service was great. Staff is friendly. It gets kind of loud inside and the place could really use some updating on the floors and walls. The house salad is iceberg lettuce with their special tomato vinaigrette dressing. I had the Tortellini Michelangelo and it was very good. If we are in Arlington again would definitely like to try more items. read more

If you are looking for a great Italian restaurant that's local, I highly recommend Moni's. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience with the service or the food. My favorite is the Shrimp Alfredo made with Angel Hair. It's nice that they will devein the shrimp. You can taste that the Alfredo sauce is homemade with how buttery it is. I am not a fan of alcohol but this place is BYOB. I don't have any pictures of the Tiramisu since I always take it to-go. But you should give it a try, when you stop by. read more

Rating is really more like 3.5. Party of 6 via reservation for Saturday night. Table was ready at 530pm as requested and our server was on the spot throughout the evening--he did an excellent job! Lots of options on the menu, we started with fried calamari. It was delivered very quickly and the portion size was rather large. Unfortunately it wasn't very good, the breading was strange (very brittle, almost like it was dusted...) and the squid was almost non-existent. Oh well... For our main course we had seafood fettuccine (shrimp, crabmeat and scallops) and chicken stuffed with cheese and basil (forgot the name). Again, larger portions and despite us having a group of 6 with different orders it was all delivered quickly. Food was pretty good, the seafood fettuccine was really good, the stuffed chicken was just ok...the breading on this one was really thick and if there was cheese and basil in it, it must have been very minimal amounts. I wouldn't order it again. The restaurant is BYOB, which is nice and they will bring you wine glasses. The location got really packed around 6pm, so reservations are definitely recommended on the weekend. Perhaps being Thanksgiving weekend may have had something to do with that, but maybe not...plan accordingly. read more

I really hope I just experienced a bad night for Moni's. My husband and I met some friends here for a birthday dinner. The service was friendly and we were warmly welcomed! Hubby and I ordered mozzarella sticks, two Caesar salads, and our entrees (baked ziti and the tortellini entree). Both of us were really disappointed in all of our food. The mozzarella sticks needed seasoning (though the marinara sauce for dipping was very good), the Caesar salad came drenched in croutons (which tasted like they were store bought and honestly distracted from the salad), and both of our pastas were severely overcooked. I liked the sauce that the tortellini was in, but the noodles feel apart). While the service and ambiance were friendly and welcoming, the food was a miss and we won't be back. read more

We love Monis however I'm not much of Italian food person! Our waiter was awesome the place is great for large groups and has a great atmosphere! I really seem to have bad luck ordering chicken Parmesan mine was almost burnt and didn't taste well at all! The rolls tonight were not their normal soft and delicious they were hard to eat tonight! We got there at 11:15 on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded but by the time we left, it was. I did my research before I got there and suggest you do the same; the menu is huge!! I knew I wanted the Eggplant Florentine and was glad I added the veggie side. I asked for extra bread and took 1/2 home for lunch the next day; it was even better!! I love the family atmosphere at Moni's! I've been coming here since I was 10 but not so much in last several years! I definitely missed this place and will make it a point to come more often! This is a bring BYOW restaurant but I had forgotten about that during a recent outing with my date Jess. We sat down and got wine glasses but didn't have any wine. Our server said it wasn't very crowded so we could go to the store real quick and retain our table. Thankfully Tom Thumb is like two minutes away if that. I drove and she ran inside and grabbed a bottle of red. I don't even remember what kind but it was tasty lol We back in less than 10 minutes and ordered our food. The fried calamari was very good especially with marinara sauce for dipping. One of the specials was Lobster Ravioli so that's what I ordered. It was creamy and delicious . The atmosphere of Monis is charming with large windows that let in natural light and a few different seating areas. I enjoyed getting to see into the kitchen from where we were in the dinning area. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and was knowledgeable on the menu. The food was excellent, the garlic bread with cheese had great crunch when you'd take a bite and the saltiness of the butter and cheese with the chunks of garlic made for such a good eat that we ordered two of them. The tortellini Michelangelo was an incredible dish with the artichoke hearts pairing perfectly with the tomatoes, mushrooms as well as the chicken and cheese. I'm so happy I saw this on the Arlington foodies page. Every. Single. Time. I've come here they 100% look out for their customers and know their food menu inside and out. I absolutely LOVE that everything is made to order and not pre-batched. They also can make modifications for heart health conscious orders if need be (dish dependent of course, don't ask for like Alfredo or anything made to be heavy). It is BYOB so make sure you remember to bring the bottle and they have the glassware! I can vouch for their vodka/pink sauce it is AMAZING, I love getting it with the capellini primavera. As for my family they love the seafood fettuccini with Alfredo made spicy, the chicken parm and the chicken piccata!
