As a fan of heavy flavors and burgers, this was right up my alley. We ordered the famous wagyu burger, the monkey bread, and the vodka rigatoni. Honestly all of the dishes were amazing - the monkey bread caught me by surprise. The truffle butter paired with the soft bread was really, really good. The burger is on the smaller side, but frankly allowing us the stomach space to try multiple dishes was appreciated. I really have nothing to say besides all the food was really good and it was one of the best spots I've been to this year. I finally made it in for brunch and here's everything I've tried: King Crab Rangoon: Absolutely delicious! Crispy, golden, and served with a sweet chili sauce plus a creamy horseradish dip that I couldn't get enough of. Salmon Crudo: Fresh and topped with yuzu ponzu and Perigord truffles. To start, the truffle monkey bread is out of this world, I could've easily ordered multiple/more for the table but wanted to save room for the entrees. For entrees opted for the Vodka Rigatoni, it was good, nothing in particular stood out about it though I would say. For the second option, went with the roasted chicken with buttery mashed potatoes which has a 30 minute cook time which the waiter informed me of prior to proceeding with the order. The chicken and mash were tasty, the chicken was a little on the salty side this night but it did not ruin the meal. I would've also wanted a touch more mash understanding there is a whole chicken that is being presented, it felt somewhat imbalanced. For drinks opted for margaritas (came in a coconut cup) and white wine. Both paired well with our meals. Skipped dessert due to the time of night but will be back for sure to give dessert a try and the partake in more truffle butter and monkey bread! The lighting was dim and warm, with a cozy golden glow from the lamps placed on each table. The jazz music playing throughout the restaurant added a timeless elegance that I personally love it perfectly matched the upscale yet relaxed vibe. Once seated, we noticed that the plates were stacked neatly in the middle of the table, with utensils wrapped in a napkin placed on top. Menus arrived almost immediately, and our server promptly asked if we preferred still, sparkling, or tap water. We opted for tap, and I truly appreciated that they kept refilling it consistently throughout the night, not just once and forgotten like at some restaurants. We started with drinks: I ordered the Espresso Martini, and the person I was with got the Pink Cosmopolitan. While I enjoyed my martini's rich coffee flavor and generous kick of vodka, I found the cosmopolitan lighter and more refreshing, so much so that I might get it next time. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff went out of their way to send birthday wishes. The food was incredible! Warm and tasty, not too sweet, I packed 1/2 to bring home and ate as soon as I got in, they forgot to include the truffle butter which I specifically asked for, so that was disappointing. Best part of the meal, worth the price! The burger however was disappointing, nothing special at all. Polo bar burger is 100x better. This burger was dry & basic, so were the fries. I should have went with the French dip which is what my server recommended. Generous wine pours (half pour option available which is not something you usually see). Bathroom needs some renovations, restaurant is currently blocked by scaffolding/ construction. My husband and I recently celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary. We wanted an American food place with tasty eats, romantic ambiance, and good portions. I was finally able to get a reservation on a Thursday at 6pm for a party of 3 to celebrate my mom's birthday and we had a spectacular experience. Would definitely order every time I come. Very worth it and one of my favorite dishes of the night. - Side of fries: generous portion, perfectly salted but a little too underdone for me. Garlic aioli is amazing which was addictive and made them worth eating anyways. - Chocolate cream pie: I was between this and the carrot cake but was craving chocolate. Delicious cookies and cream flavored dessert that is reminiscent of those Betty Crocker pies from childhood but with elevated presentation and high quality ingredients. The chocolate Oreo crust was so good and the whole dessert was balanced by a neutral, and refreshing whipped cream. This dessert is on the sweeter side so I would recommend sharing! Overall, had an impeccable experience here. The service was spotless, the food was decadent and enjoyable without seeming too forceful, and the ambiance is just so classy and feels worthy of any special occasion. I have been wanting to try this place for a longgg time and finally got lucky enough to snag a reservation. The ambiance is super cool and old school with murals on the walls. Food was amazing. The best thing we ordered was the monkey bread which is topped with parm and truffle shavings, it was incredible. Also ordered the double cheeseburger was very good. Prime rib dip was one of the best I've had, comes with an au jus and a horseradish aioli. Best to go with 3-4 people and share a few dishes. read more

Iconic NY bar and accompanying restaurant. Serving classic cocktails under the watchful eyes of whimsical monkeys on murals. I wondered what famous types bellied up to the bar as I had. The bartenders were professional and friendly and were knowledgeable mixologists. I ordered off the food menu and started with a dirty martini using Tito's and blue cheese olives. Nice pour I opted for a half order of wedge salad served with a side of creamy dressing that lacked taste. I couldn't tell you what they were trying to accomplish. I added a baked lump crab cake for $15. It had a hint of added lemon. It was all crab, buttery and full of light crab flavors. The lettuce was skewered with a thick slice of applewood bacon and book ended by two lumps of soft Danish bleu cheese and two quarters of hard boiled eggs. Very good and filling. We came here without a reservation and were called back in about an hour after being placed on the waitlist. The ambiance and darker lighting is nice inside. There's lots of tables as well as a bar. Bar got super crowded though so I'm glad we were able to get a table. I got the cosmo to drink which was good. I got the truffle mafaldine for my main course. I love mafaldine noodles and I've never seen them in restaurants so I was happy to see it here. The truffle flavor was so rich and the sauce was yummy. Lots of vegetarian options here which is great. For dessert got the chocolate pie and strawberry vacherin. The chocolate pie is a mousse texture and it comes with whipped cream on top. The strawberry vacherin was so unique and has ice cream, whipped cream and strawberry purée at the bottom. It looks so cool too. The meringue pieces were so good and the size of the dessert was huge. If I could go to Monkey Bar everyday, I would. Few restaurants compare, having an old-school atmosphere, cool staff, and amazing food to match. We made a reservation in the main dining room the minute (!) that resos went live for that day, and there were only a handful of tables left. We got seated at a big semi-circle booth that overlooked the dining room which def added to the experience. My partner and I took my parents for the first time, so we wanted to share to try a bunch of different things vs. ordering our own entree. That's actually what our waiter suggested we do with the burger - and they cut it up into 4 slices for us! We got the vodka pasta, the whitefish caesar salad, monkey bread, fries, the burger, and crab cakes. All are delicious and worth ordering again but you simply MUST get the monkey bread - out of this world and unlike any other bread you've ever had. Tis a pretty penny at $30+, but you won't regret it. Oh, and the drinks were fabulous as well, no surprise there Definitely expensive, but v worth it read more
